This was an amazing experience! My partner & I needed to wash a large comforter yesterday & stopped by the laundromat next door before heading into Ryu's. Ryu's was our original destination, but being able to wash our comforter while eating was perfect! The server told us to sit anywhere and took our order within 5 minutes. She brought our small ban chan order first and it was excellent. It include 2 small wonton, a small spicy salad, & kimchi. The iced and hot milk tea was very good as was the beef radish soup! My shrimp & noodles dish was so good!! I did want more shrimp, but the veggies filled me up, too. My partner's beef dish was like Korean lettuce wraps! He loves spicy food & really enjoyed it! Overall, the dining experience here was acceptable but not exceptional. When I went, it was a Saturday night, and the restaurant was relatively empty, which isn't always a great sign. But, the service was good-no complaints there. The food was okay. I ordered the mul mandu for an appetizer, and it was relatively standard dumpling fare. Nothing noteworthy, but not bad. Then I had the bibimbap with beef. It wasn't very flavorful as served, but the sauce provided in the table caddy helped add flavor. Once again, not bad, but not especially impressive. The only thing that was disappointing was that the banchan were not provided free of charge. Instead, you could purchase them individually or as an upgrade with your entree. This is unlike most Korean restaurants I've been to. Normally, I look forward to the variety of small starters before the main dish so this was a bit of a let down. I wish Yelp had .5 system. I could easily rate my visit 3.5: based on location, staff, efficiency, and food. Let me tell you what I liked. 1. They have a gracious and kind staff. Each person appeared to be just as genuinely kind as the next. I appreciate that as part of my customer experience. Customer Service has become such a lost art/skill set, that we are stunned when it's delivered in most settings. I applaud the staff here for their efficient service and patience with my questions. KUDOS to a job well done. 2. This location is easy to find. It's at the rear of a small strip plaza situated between 2 main crossroads. 3. They have a welcoming environment. Something about the soft music playing and the tables makes you want to sit and relax. 4. The pronunciation of RYU's is - Roo's. What was just ok. 1. The Beef Bulgogi (pronounced Burr go gee). Very Americanized Korean food - I say they are almost selling Korean fusion food the way things were presented. If you are not familiar with Korean food, and if you want to go easy(you don't want things too garlicky, spicy and pickled), this would be perfect for you. If you want authentic Korean food, this isn't your place. The portions were pretty petite for the price, but if you don't eat huge portions, it might be okay. We still had time until they closed, but they started cleaning/shutting down around us, so we felt rushed a bit. Came here for lunch last week and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere is cute and welcoming, fairly casual and not a lot of tables in restaurant. Felt like a little cafe. Our server was very nice and attentive even with a busy service at lunch. She made excellent recommendations as well when we had trouble deciding on what to order since everything sounded so good! The iced plum tea was delightful, sweet without being overly so, and had good flavor. Their kimchi soup was very nice - had some heat and very strong umami flavors that were quite tasty. I also got the banchan sides, but I am a little bummed that the banchan are not complimentary. I felt the addon price was acceptable with my ribeye dolsot bibimbap (less than $3) though - the banchan were fabulous. The little dumplings that came with them were the only thing I had while I was there that I could live without as they were a bit on the bland side, but otherwise everything else was just so flavorful and fresh tasting. Their bibimbap sauce was really, really good though. I don't know what was in it that had a somewhat nutty flavor (possibly tahini?) but it really elevated the dish and I felt like I couldn't get enough of it. This is my favorite Korean restaurant in town. I love how simple their menu. The food is worth coming back, over and over. I normally don't like salad, but I just love their side salad. Their mul mandu dumplings were very delicious. We pretty much had everything on their menu and look forward to see what specials they have (which gets posted on Facebook). The service is great. The staff is attentive. The ambiance is cozy. The decor is cute. It reminds me of some anime cartoon. Although Fort Wayne is a medium size city, we lack Korean restaurant options. This is only 1 of 2 places where you can get authentic korean food. During covid we ordered carry out. The food did not take long to prepare and it was quite fresh. I ended up getting a bibimbop. Although this was not served in a stone bowel (since it was carry out), it was nicely deconstructed in a carry out box. The meat was flavorful with fresh vegetables and the spicy red sauce hit the spot. Two downsides is the cost vs. portion size and the limited menu. If your craving Korean food, given this place a try. Just remember its a very small restaurant tucked in a strip mall. read more

I love this place, usually. I have been obsessed for at least a year. And have been quite regular bare minimum once a month most 3-5 times a month. Recently in the past 3-4 months everything is changing. The bill is getting to be more. In the economy, I understand. But, when the bill gets to be more i don't expect you to be lowering the portion size. Also, rice was uncooked this time. I am so disappointed because i love this place. Along with the food itself. The vegetables were my favorite part of chicken bulgogi. As someone who is relatively picky. The past 3 times ive gone vegetables have changed and this time it was a bush of grass in my food rather than carrots, cucumber, etc. I never know if I am going to like my food anymore. The rice noodles are fantastic because the serving size is very large The food is super fresh. I've been there numerous times and I've never had a bad experience. The food is absolutely fantastic and I have brought many people with many different pallets into this restaurant and everyone can find something that they like. It's very quiet and quaint. It's a pretty small place so it does feel very intimate and your service is very personalized. almost every single time I've went I've gotten extras and they are more than generous with the sauces and add-ons. If you need accommodations or have questions, they are absolutely more than helpful. They are so sweet there. They are fantastic and highly recommend it to people that are very well-versed in Korean cuisine or someone who just wants to try some really good food. This tiny restaurant is easy to miss, but worth the U turn if you do. Four of us went on Friday night and every table was full, so we had a short wait. By short I mean less than 10 minutes, but the staff repeatedly apologized for the wait and even brought out complementary spring rolls, which were fresh and fried to perfection. For my entree I ordered the beef bulgogi with a fried egg on top and a side order of kimchi, which was delicious by itself and even better with the meal. The bulgogi was seasoned well and very tasty. My husband ordered the spicy shrimp which came with stir fried veggies and rice with a garlic sauce. The only down side was they don't serve alcohol, but other than that they had great staff, good food and we'll be going back soon. read more

Went here tonight for dinner. It was pretty decent. My daughter's grandmother is Korean and cooks us authentic Korean food quite often. This tasted VERY similar to hers. I got the pork bulgogi and my daughter got the beef. Although good, the portions were pretty small for dinner. Each meal comes with a VERY SMALL salad, kimchi, and one dumpling. The dumplings were good. Just your standard pot stickers. The service was good. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. Very decently priced. read more

Awesome lil gem in East Ft Wayne that offers fantastic eats in a cute lil shop. The menu offers a decent selection but seems to center around 2 main sauces: bulgogi and bulgogi fish sauce. We tried the chicken bulgogi and the beef bulgogi lunch portions with iced plum tea . The taste was bold, clean and flavorful. The dish was peppered with fresh crisp and colorful veggies. The only complaint was that the portion was too small (which is also a wonderful compliment to the chef)! Service was friendly and attentive. Prices were moderate ranging from $7.50 to $12.
