Individual Combo #1- Sweet & Sour Pork, Chow Mein (soft noodle style), & pork fried rice (not pictured: soup)

Good food, good service... will be back to try more dishes. *Dear Yelp, here are a few more sentences for the people who enjoy reading reviews rather than getting outside & experiencing what this world has to offer. Remember what life was like before yelp? We just went places 'cause they looked cool, tried restaurants 'cause they looked nice or someone recommended it... but now, most of us go on Yelp. Why? To read novel length reviews from wannabe journalists? Or are you like me: I just want to look at the menu before hand, check out the prices, & know if I'll get food poisoning or not. Either way, you read this long rant, thanks, I hope I made you laugh :) Oh and thanks Covid for making me lose my Elite status

    Chow mein supposedly

I ordered a combo plate that came out to 17.50 . It comes out having 5 pieces of sweet and sour chicken, and the chow mein is super undercooked . No egg roll or wonton . I even opened the plate to show them it wasn't satisfactory, and they kept insisting it was correct the way it was .

Good food. We do takeout from here every other month. Generous portions. Each entree can easily give you two meals.

We always have great service here. The food is excellent- really flavorful. My favorite restaurant in Monroe!

I keep forgetting about this place! I kinda like the tucked away feel of this unassuming low key Americanized Chinese place that has been around since I was in my teens. Monroe can be so crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. This place is on east main street with ample street parking in front and back in the less bustling part of town. I saw a younger guy doing everything from busing tables to bringing out food. He was wearing t shirt, jeans and a baseball cap with an ear piece on. No dress code standards but if the food is good and service is good, I am willing to look the other way. The food: ***Bbq pork 5/5! Super moist and tender pieces they give plenty of hot mustard and seeds. Must try! Our FAV!*** Won ton soup was decent. One big fat meaty won ton folded in shape of a pocket in each of our one cup order. Add lots of black pepper. Wish it comes super hot! Deep fried shrimp 12 pieces. Batter was a a bit thicker than it should be but it came out piping hot with sweet and sour sauce. It is pretty yummy with hot mustard and sesame seeds. Pot stickers: hubby liked it, it was the thinner skin I personally like the thicker wrapper. Almond fried (white meat) chicken: the gravy is more clear brown and more mild with grounded almonds sprinkled on top. Slightly different than the thicker yellow gravy I was used to. Chicken chow mein with crispy noodles 5/5. Lots of white tender chunks of chicken with celeries, bean sprouts and onions. 5/5 classic chop suey. Black bean chicken came with green peppers, onions, fermented black beans and lots of big chunks of tender white meat chicken. Decent dish and makes for good leftover. Definitely eat with white rice! Considering times of inflation, this place is dirt cheap considering the big meat portions. 3 appetizers and four main dish, and beverage all came to $95 after tax. Got tons of leftovers for the whole week. They have ample booth seating and a large round table and long tables to accommodate larger groups. My only complaint is the white rice. Not as hot and fluffy as it should be. Would return for the quiet ambiance and overall decent quality of the dishes. They serve Vietnamese classics like bun and pho noodle bowls. Can't wait to try their pho Irene the owner lady said their beef broth is pretty special. And fresh rolls. Saw someone ordered Thai iced tea too.

    Fried almond chicken

Love their almond chicken and pork fried rice! The fried almond chicken is a little different than most so be prepared for that but I personally love the flavor :)

Hubby never gets tired of his 3 star Tom Kah with tofu plus a side of white jasmine rice. It may seem too light as a meal but my hubby always have leftovers. Love the perfectly balanced broth with creamy coconut cream infused against the bright lemongrass flavor. It's his absolute favorite and he would not get anything else even though he likes curry and phad kee mao. I can see why.. My eyes always get big when I have a taste of his soup it certainly wakes up taste buds in the most pleasant way! This soup goes perfect with rice! White rice! There's a milder Benjarong special soup with dumplings I got when I get sick it's a light broth with lots of veggies and minced chicken meat and bean thread noodles in a light broth it was delish as well if you want a mild flavor soup. You can get extra noodles for a charge if you want to have it as a full on noodle bowl meal. I usually like to try different things. Sometimes, I order phad kee mao if I want that bold basil flavor with slabs of flat rice noodles. At other times, I really enjoy their phad woon sen with its mild savory sauce infused throughout the bean thread noodles. I ask for their thai chili condiments caddy and douse more chili sauce and chili/fish sauce for an extra kick which take it to the next level. I get it in vegetarian and ask for extra fresh tofu. Sounds boring but it's craveable. I also get their eggplant dish or garlic delight they are delish as well. Their menu is large enough there's bound to be a favorite for all. The appetizers have always been spot on. Love the grilled thai flavors on the big hunks of chicken satay ask for peanut sauce! Succulent!! You can't go wrong with their classic fresh rolls they are always perfectly made and the fresh crunch against the warm and lightly sweet peanut sauce it is to die for. Lastly, my hubby's new love is the calamari. This is not your typical calamari app as it's perfectly fried without being oily. We love biting into the big chunks of squid rings you can hear the crunch with each bite. The tangy glaze with sprinkled peanuts is perfect for dipping. Get this! Service wise, it has always been a delightful experience for dine in and door dash every time. Love the quiet ambience with their private booths and nice decor. Like they offer quality Asian loose leaf teas and zero percent beer. St Pauli is decent. The owner Panu, wife, and staffs have always been very kind and efficient in providing decent service! I get picky at times and they always cater to what customers want. They have been around forever they know how to deliver good food and service!

There's an amazing Chinese/Asian restaurant in Mason and I'm only finding out about it now?…read more Lotus Garden is awesome! We've had dinner from here three times now and we've been stunned how amazing their food is and how great the experience is! We're constantly on Yelp and other sites searching for new restaurants to try. We have some wonderful gems here in Mason but we could always use more restaurants, especially after COVID. Lotus Garden bangs it out of the park and scratches that itch for Asian food. This restaurant is run by a really fabulous family who always treat us like a million bucks when we come in. It really is something to see the whole family putting in a team effort to bring this business together and we love supporting these guys. We love the online ordering feature, that makes our lives super easy. Everything we've tried from Lotus Garden has been delicious and well prepared! The Honey Walnut prawns and chicken are the best. Everything here is economical and feels fairly priced. We're always surprised we can get a bunch of prawns and Chinese donuts for cheap. We've tried most of the items on the menu. The bacon fried rice is completely unique to this place and amazing. They have so many different options and their menu is huge. One warning, when you see a chili pepper next to an item, it's hot and they aren't kidding. Since we've discovered Lotus Garden, we've been getting take out here at least once a week. We really like their takeout containers which keeps the food better than traditional Chinese food containers and we always get at least two days of food from a trip up here. The portions are legit and this place always feels like a big bang for the buck. Lotus Garden is as good as it gets. Delicious food at economical prices from an awesome family with a very easy online ordering system. If you got an itch for Asian food, Lotus Garden is your best option for that scratch for 20 miles in any direction.

Our dining experience began with cold appetizers, including a mixed black fungus dish with a satisfying crunch and tangy vinegar flavor, alongside pickled lotus root vegetables with a garlicky and subtly spicy taste. For our main courses, we opted for the Deep Fried Fish Szechuan Style, which was filled with cod fish, had a lighter batter coating, and a pleasing crunch, but beware of its savory and fiery flavor, which intensifies after several bites. We also selected the Szechuan Hometown Tofu, which offered our taste buds a savory flavor, enhanced by chili sauce, a crunchy exterior, and a soft, silky interior. On the side, we ordered a bowl of steamed purple rice and white rice. This exceptional culinary experience combines the perfect balance of crunchiness, chili spice, garlicky freshness, and sweetness, rich flavors of Szechuan cuisine. I highly recommend this restaurant for an authentic Szechuan-style dining experience.

It is a huge portion but it is completely devoid of any flavor whatsoever. Usually onions add something but that did not help. I don't know how you can mess up noodles but no one in my family would eat them and there is one person in my family that will manage to eat almost anything and they refused. The sweet and sour chicken was drowning in sauce even though we asked more than once for the sauce to be on the side. We liked the bell peppers and onions in the sauce. The chicken pieces were of decent size. I did not care for the sauce. The white rice was well made and fluffy. The rice was probably the best part of the dish. About an hour later, we ended up throwing up the food. A complete waste of $31 dollars (which is pricey for what was supposed to be a lunch special). Also, vegetable chow mein and chicken chow mein is the same price which we found out after we had paid. Lunch is pictured and mention to include soup BUT you only get soup if you dine in. The place looked clean the the people seemed friendly. We may give them one more chance bc of the friendly service.
