We usually come here on special occasions like our anniversary, bdays and around holidays. Came here on my birthday a few weeks ago. We ended up leaving earlier than we probably would have wanted just cause our baby decided it was time for us to leave. Since we had a baby I'm definitely more aware of how noisy places are that we go to and this is definitely the loudest place of all the places we go. Which looking around there is nothing to absorb the sound. So if you want a quiet setting this is not the place for you. We each had 2 drinks and we had the cornbread as an appetizer and we both got the burger and fries. My main complaint is our fries came out lukewarm, like they had been sitting a long time. Boooooo. Drinks were good as always. Service wasn't bad wasn't great. Our first time here (years ago) was outstanding and now it just feels ok, I'm not sure that we will continue to come here as often as we have. Came to Lewis & Main after seeing all the great reviews on Yelp -- and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere is really nice, relaxed but still lively, and you can tell they put a lot of thought into the vibe. I especially love the open kitchen concept -- it's so cool to watch the chefs at work and see all the action behind the scenes. The food was fantastic -- fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Definitely lived up to the hype. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Overall, a great spot that I'd happily come back to. Highly recommend if you're in the area. read more

I'll start with the good. The calamari appetizer was to die for - expensive but DELICIOUS! The cocktail I had was also expensive but delicious. We ordered the $35 clam orzo and the $54 New York steak medium rare. The New York comes with no sides. $54 is the price for the steak on its own. They don't have a menu of sides and we weren't asked if we wanted any sides with it. The "New York" that we got was literally just a chunk of fat with maybe 5 bites of meat on it. It was literally cold and still blue, so rare. It had barely been put onto the grill. The flavor was bland, like a cheap steak you'd get at buzz in. Definitely not a $50+ steak and was not cooked appropriately. The clam orzo looked promising. Huge portion and smelled delicious, but I took one bite and it was so salty I couldn't eat it. Literally tasted like the salt container fell in it. They did end up refunding us for the steak and the orzo. We paid for our drinks, the calamari and left hungry. Still ended up paying $50 (plus a $10 tip for our nice waitress) for an appetizer, two bottled IPA's and one rum cocktail. Also worth mentioning that the tables are very close together. It felt like we were eating with the strangers next to us. Our seat on one side was a shared bench with other guests and it was very loud, not a problem unless you want to have a semi private conversation. So disappointing after waiting years for a toddler free night to visit this restaurant.. I'm not sure that we will be back. If we do, we will likely visit for the bar and appetizers. read more

We eat here once in a while and have never been disappointed. Just dropped in early in the week. Can't resist duck. Great to see this on the seasonal menu. Hard to decide which was better, this or the duck at Willows Lodge Woodinville! A nice plate. No sides needed. Everything on it was delicious. Orange with duck is classic and this sauce was perfect. Service was fine. Our server recommended a red wine that my companion said was fine with the meal. This was not fast food. Space was a little chilly but we could see fire in the kitchen. Went to RHD in Monroe which is a car dealership who specializes in Righthand drive cars. Got hungry and wanted a treat. This is the spot. Excellent service and a perfect variety of specialty foods that had taste notes that were unexpected. The restaurant is on the corner and the open kitchen is unique and makes you feel like you're apart of the restaurant team. Jason was an excellent host and felt like family. It's a great little place in the heart of Monroe! The ambiance is nice and the food and service were great! We had a couple of cocktails and the calamari appetizer all of which were really good. The calamari is tossed in a lemon sauce and pretty tangy. Jr had the chicken and dumplings. Wifey ordered the pork chop and I had the pot roast. All of the entrees were really good! This restaurant is one more reason why you don't have to drive to Seattle or even Woodinville to get a great meal in Snohomish County. Lewis & Main is a great venue where you can watch the kitchen prepare your meal while you sit at your table and enjoy great offerings from the wine list or cocktail menu. The service is attentive, but not overbearing, the quality of the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is comfortable. Great for a date night or a group, I have never regretted having dinner here. Sadly, the steak I ordered was very fatty, way to undercooked, and didn't come with any sides--pretty crazy for $60. The calamari was soggy and not fried well. We came in for dinner lastnight after our small wedding ceremony and had a perfect experience. The staff was so welcoming and friendly and treated us very well on our special night. The Salted Garlic Bread tasted amazing and there was the perfect bread to sauce ratio. However, it didn't come out super warm and the bread was hard to cut through. Both the Clams & Orzo and Lamb Shank Pasta were both amazing with no issues. I ordered the House Ginger Beer and it was incredible, it was one of the best ginger beers I've had. Service 5/5: The staff was very attentive and kind, and our food came out in a timely manner. Ambiance 3.5/5: We love the feel and the decor and the layout, however it's a bit noisy inside when the restaurant has a lot of people inside. Our table was also a bit wobbly. Went to Lewis & Main Restaurant & Brewery for my birthday dinner last night and we were not disappointed! Asked them to surprise me with a drink and this beauty came out. Not sure what it was but it was vodka and delicious! The crab cake special was phenomenal and the Rib Eye was so good too! In the drink pics you can see the Fried Corn Bread and Calamari. Not pictured are the Beignets and Lobster Mac and Cheese. 10/10 highly recommend if you're ever in Monroe! This is a neat place, kind of tucked away in Monroe. It's one of those places that seems rustic but has gourmet type of food. The drinks were great, had the Manhattan which was tasty. My fiancee had the Chef's Fave which is like an orange creamsicle in cocktail form (very good!!) The best dish was the calamari. It is next level. It's also very different from the traditional "Here is some fried squid", it is nothing like that. The sauce, how the calamari is cooked, just ... wow. The fried pork belly is also next level. Small portion, but overall, extremely full of flavor. The weird thing was on this day, they were out of chicken and I wanted to try the dumplings. No big deal, got the burger, which I will say was just so-so. Was a bit dry and compressed. Not terrible, but not great, just a bit overcooked. The fries were delicious, but they did say they weren't made there (not sure where they get them from but they are amazing). The service was very good. The waitress was polite about no chicken, I think she wasn't sure what to say since that eliminated a few dishes from being a choice. Overall, cool spot. Will go back to hopefully try the dumplings. I would never judge a spot on their burger unless it was something they specialize in, so all good. And I am a burger snob so it's hard to crack my top 10. read more

We came back after a long period away and we were thrilled with the usual Lewis and Main experience we have come to know. Highlights were the braised beef toast and halibut, as well as the mussels. We decided to give L&M a second chance. Glad we did and it was not a disappointment! After waiting for a few months to visit, we had a romantic date night after having our baby. This was our first night away from our son and had high hopes that our experience would be great. We were right! Started with some tasty and beautiful cocktails. Very unique with a grape pinned on the glass. Apps: Fresh and lovely watermelon salad. Perfect for the summer. Artichokes that were amazingly deep fired! Mains - Halibut special was wonderful. What an incredible evening with delicious food. We ordered: - Old Fashioned (great) - Moscow Mule (great_ - Calamari - WOW - what an incredible twist (goat cheese) on a classic dish to really, really elevate it. Get this dish. - Ceasar - they split the plates for us - a nice touch that we didn't ask for - Shrimp over quinoa - this was a special that was originally scallops but they had run out and moved into shrimp.... WOW - flavor explosion with fun little droplets all over the plate - oils, aoli's, etc... all of them equally lovely - Lobster Mac - my god - one of the best mac and cheese's I've ever had. Healthy chunks of lobster, a great béchamel, a fun noodle...incredible. We sat at the bar and the service was really good. The ambiance is great - the servers are well-dressed and attentive. I heard a lot of good things about Lewis & Main, so I went here tonight to try it out. We were immediately greeted and taken to our table by a friendly staff member who was also our server. We ordered the Waygu Burger and Seafood Pasta paired with a nice white wine and a stout dark beer. The food and drinks came very fast and both were excellent! The service was also outstanding and we were very happy with our experience. I want to go back and try some of the other menu items because they offer a great selection of appetizers and main dishes. The only negative I found was that I was charged $1 for the lettuce and $1 for the tomato on my burger. In my opinion, a burger should come with that as a standard and not be charged extra for it. Other than that, the food tasted amazing, and we will definitely be back. Go check this place out! read more

When we moved to Monroe this spring we saw Lewis & Main was coming soon and couldn't wait to try this swanky little bistro out. We made reservations shortly after they opened and were seated in the main dining room with a view of the kitchen. It's a pretty restaurant with wood and metal design accompanied by industrial lighting. Their seasonal menu had a lot of great sounding items making it difficult to choose from and the choice became even more difficult when the server said nearly every menu item (with a few exceptions) can be made gluten free by the kitchen. So many choices! We ended up going for the pork belly appetizer, I had a filet with gorgonzolla cream and a delicious accompaniment of sides, and the husband had the halibut with seasonal vegetables. While we weren't crazy about the pork belly flavor profile (though the cook on it was perfect) we both loved our entrees. My filet was a good quality beef and temp was on point. The husband's fish was light and flavorful. We decided to splurge on dessert with their creme brulee which was overall pretty tasty. In reflection, my favorite aspect of the meal was definitely the superb service we received. We had several servers stop by our table throughout the night to make sure we had everything we needed, that water was refreshed, and that we had the libations we wanted. It was really appreciated that they worked with a team approach to make sure customers were taken care of. Looking forward to returning soon and trying more items of this delicious menu. read more

Nice to see a decent casual upscale dining place back in this spot. It's only been open a short time, so it's still getting its feet under it to some extent. I give it a little slack for that reason, but overall this is a great place for Monroe. They opened up the space and lengthened the open kitchen. There's a newly found skylight in the ceiling. I am sure someone could dump a few hundred thousand dollars in the place and turn it into some dreamy space. Why? The current space has character, shows off the old building it's in, and is comfortable and pleasant. The kitchen crew is led by the co-owner chef and two other kitchen leaders. All three came from Barking Frog in Woodinville. The weather was warm and I didn't feel like anything heavy when I went. I enjoyed the creative watermelon salad. Perfectly executed and just the right thing on a hot day. I also had the halibut. Beautiful presentation and perfectly cooked fish. It had a nice outer crust and was flaky and moist inside. Will return and try more of the summer menu as soon as this weekend's crazy record heat wave passes. Looking forward to it. read more

We were in Monroe for one night. Stumbled across this place because we wanted a cocktail, but looking at their happy hour menu and the regular menu, we decided to eat. And boy were we die happy we did! The service, the food, the drink selection were all fantastic! They even have an impressive shortlist of beers on tap. The only shame is that this place isn't in a major metropolitan area, because it deserves a lot more business than what it gets in Monroe. If you are a local, do yourself a favor and drop by. Food, I don't know. We waited over 35 minutes and only had water. I ordered an IPA, and my husband ordered a signature cocktail and steak tartare. After 10 minutes, Blake, our server, returned to get our dinner order. Blake was back again 5 minutes later. Brain fart, he exclaimed. He forgot our entree order. After waiting for 35+ minutes with no drinks and no tartare, we decided to leave. The lovely lady who seated us caught my eye as we were leaving and said have a great evening. First time visitor review: If you didn't know, like me, they change the menu often. I can't be the only one who checks out the menu before trying a new place so that was annoying. I checked later and found 2 different menus on their website and neither matched the menu we were given at the table. Even the take out menu online had different items. There was a note on the site saying the menu may be different but why keep it up there then? The service was SLOOOOOOOOW. We were there for over 2.5 hrs! It was only 2 of us. Waitress had to look at her notepad to tell us what the special was (we asked a few different times) and she couldn't pronounce some parts of the dish. We also had to ask for more water. Drink menu was disappointing and apparently changes often, too. The online reviews showed amazing options and I was really looking forward to a unique and delicious cocktail. No cocktails with vodka and too many with gin. I ended up getting an old fashioned which tasted just OK. I had the salted grilled baguettes for an appetizer. It was OK but the amount of oil left on the plate at the end grossed me out. Food was better than expected after reading the menu for the night. I had the special which was steelhead on a bed of polenta topped with an arugula salad and a citrus foam. Bomb! It shut me right up after spending an hour complaining about the menus being different. I'm still annoyed about it but it forced me to try something I wouldn't have otherwise. That foam - wow. The flavor was so complex I can't describe it but I know it's one of the best things I've tasted in a while. Incredible! Finally, I had the crème brûlée for dessert which was nothing special but at least tasty. Overall, I'm in the middle. The entree was so incredible that it offset the other complaints. I'd go again to see if I have a different experience but I'm not running to make a reservation anytime soon. read more

It's not often a restaurant lives up to the hype but this place definitely does! The service and food is top notch. We started with the steak toast and fried corn bread. The only complaint I had was that the toast wasn't toast. It was a barely there piece of soggy bread but the steak made up for that because it was plentiful and very good flavors.
