Came in here Saturday around 11 for brunch and was greeted and seated immediately. Quiet ambiance, cute but clean decor, shared bathrooms with the building. The 3 of us split a bottle of champagne and 4mimosas juices. I got the shrimp and grits, yummy!!!! Lovely brunch escape at Flavour on Saturday. Everything was nice from the interiors being cute and upscale like it has been cleaned up..very tastefully decorated with clean lines. It was a very relaxing atmosphere perfect for a brunch date. Ordered a grapefruit mimosa it tasted more like a champagne which was just as good. I absolutely enjoyed my chicken and waffles. The skin was delightfully tasty and crispy. Drizzle that with crafted toasted pecan butter and bourbon maple syrup the perfect blend of salty and sweet, crispy and soft... divine! My hubs got the classic Duvall breakfast. It's a breakfast fit for a big farmer. Comes with four fat links, home made fresh biscuit with jam, potatoes and 2 eggs. It was so much food it's ridiculous but we are not hating it. We love waffles at diners but they do it right with their special syrup and butter. Worth getting as a side. The waiter is so mindful of giving us attention without being too present so we can truly enjoy ourselves. He's great! My only slight critique is the plate choice. It was hard to use a knife on a shallow bowl I would prefer a standard plate. It's minor except the there's so much food on the Duvall breakfast every time my hubs fork into his food, the surrounding food spills off the lip and onto the table. It was a constant struggle to not appear like a slob at a fancy place. This restaurant is tucked away towards the back of the building. Amazed to find authentic creole flavors on the Eastside. We went for dinner and had the gumbo, lamb chops and the chicken gnocchi entrees. Also tried their key lime pie. Loved the kick in the gumbo! Server was lovely. Food was delicious! read more

What a GEM! The place was empty, and I can't understand why. Except that it's a small town with a small population. Service was friendly, and the food was fantastic. Croque Madame was the best I have ever had. Fries were so good. They had this crispy outer texture and crunch that they were still tasty and crunchy even after sitting on my plate getting cold! Aioli on the blt was really good. Biscuits and gravy tasty. We enjoy every thing about this quaint place. The plantain appetizer was amazing! We'd never had anything like it before. My husband enjoyed his jambalaya and my two teens and I had beef and salmon burgers. The truffle Parmesan fries were awesome! We also tried three desserts: peach cobbler, lava cake and key lime pie, which were all great. Service was good and the restaurant is nicely decorated for the holidays. The people at the table next to us were raving about their scallops and risotto. We were not expecting anything near this good in Duvall. I used to ride motorcycles and stop in Duval a decade ago - a lot has changed and Flavour Bistro is one of the gems of Duvals transition. We were promptly greeted and seated, and had cold water right away, the quality of service was top notch - that was consistent throughout our evening. We ordered some bartenders choice mocktails, which were as good looking as they were tasty. We decided to share plates, because everything sounded so good... The dish that knocked my socks off and is a must have: Grits (the grit of the grits was off the hook), the sauce was something I want a pint glass of - its that good. We had my 3 year old granddaughter in tow and we did the fried chicken to be safe, well that mash and gravy are crazy good - she loved them and we had trouble getting a bite in edgewise :) On a healthier note we did try the watermelon salad, I was dubious - however my tastebuds were won over, I would order again. Overall I was extremely impressed and for an impromptu dinner in Duval I walked away satisfied. We will be back to try the brunch soon, that menu looks like a must do! read more

They warned us they were understaffed (1 person in kitchen and 1 server/bartender) but even with an almost empty dining room the service was incredibly slow. Cocktails took 20+ minutes to arrive, the food took even longer, and the server rarely checked in with the table. The bartender was excellent and made not only our alcohol drinks but fresh lemonade for our kid as well (which was amazing) There are some cons, but it does not affect my stars in any way. The steak flavor was great. Love me the jerk seasoning. Happy and relieved there IS A KIDS MENU our son inhaled the fries and ate most of the chicken strips. Cons- potatoes and steak were on the salty side a little, but it was still amazing. Steak was thin but cooked perfectly. The side that came with the lamb was a little salty as well, which consisted of spinach and white beans. I would definitely come here to try their other menu items. The menu seems to change from time to time but the food I can say is delicious. In a short drive if you are the north end or eastside you will find a city named Duvall. The drink list is excellent and they have a new bar that looks posh. The dinner prices are a little on the spendy side but for two we shared everything and it was 5 course meal with drinks and wine, which worked for an evening out. For a starter we had the lobster bisque it was really good with very creative looking dish and tasty. Brandy and cream, some crème fraiche. The second dish was mouth watering epic beet salad. Crisp and refreshing the team did great on presentation of every dish. The appetizer was the scallops which are in an onion purée with cherry tomatoes and balsamic vinegar. My friend and I enjoyed the duck for our main course and amazing! I am not going to do it justice but the duck was perfectly done. Slightly crisp skin but the luscious fat, lovely texture, with this slightly sweet sauce. Perfecto! For the finale the triple chocolate mousse cake. It was a phenomenal. Took my partner to dinner for her birthday. She ordered the ribeye steak with Caribbean mango mashed potatoes. The steak was heavily salted, but the accompanied mashed potatoes were salted beyond all reason .. salt on steroids. For dessert we ordered the bananas foster and the apple dessert. Both come with vanilla gelato. We could hear the kitchen ring that our dessert was ready while the server gabbed with the only other table in the restaurant. Finally the kitchen hit the bell multiple times and finally got his attention. He 'Promptly' delivered our two desserts will fully melted gelato on top. I see the previous ''glowing" reviews on Yelp. Tried brunch here for the first time last week. We got there at 10 and took forever to order and didn't get food until nearly 11. This place is 5 star on social media posts but the food is not as good as it looks and definitely not worth the prices they are charging. First I'll start with the service, which was timely, friendly, and efficient. Ambiance is basic, but clean and no frills. The real show stopper here is the food. My wife had the salmon, and honestly it's one of the best we've ever tasted. I had the spicy seafood Alfredo and I basically ate it until I was gorged and overstuffed. I just couldn't stop. We had brunch here for the first time today, and it was absolutely lovely! The food was amazing, and the service was excellent. It was quiet, and we were seated immediately. I feel bad giving 1 star but I can't recall the last time I had a worse experience in a restaurant. We first went here over a year ago for dinner and it was slow service and mediocre food, we sat on the balcony which really had sad vibes, some unknown source of water dripping from overhead and really cold atmosphere inside the restaurant. The decision to market as fine dining really didn't hold up. We put it down to just a bad night and figured we would try again. Fast forward to over a year later and we went for brunch, which we figured was a hard meal to get wrong. There was just 2 other tables occupied, so it wasn't busy. Our order took a very long time to come out, but I wouldn't have cared about that if it wasn't bad food. 3 pancake stack - 1 cooked correctly then other 2 burned. Potatoes salted to the extent that it tasted like my month allowance of salt in one dish. They tried to make right on the seasoning issue but the other meals were problematic too. Shrimp po boy was basically a toasted bun with cold shrimp and too much sauce (no french baguette as listed on the menu). Eggs benedict with very burned english muffins and ham (which wasn't listed on the menu - a problem since we are pescatarian). They took the po boy off the bill but really we sat around for well over an hour to have burned pancakes and way over salted potatoes. The server made coffee that was nice. The restaurant was also freezing cold, it was a relief to step outside after. Duvall needs another dining option and I wish this was it, it's not. read more

Truly an exquisite dining experience from the lovely folks here. We shared the appetizers and desserts and couldn't help but steal bites from each others entrees. That said each one of us completely satisfied with the delightful meal. Each appetizer seasoned perfectly, from the beet salad to perfectly prepared scallops.. don't pass the bacon! Mushroom risotto was divine, mahi mahi tasted tropical, and the ribeye .. delicious and so tender. Can't skip dessert which had to be shared, creme brûlée cheesecake and the lava cake. Wow, what a gem! This is a place to dress up for. They've worked hard to create ambiance and a menu worthy of a celebration or date night. The piano player is fantastic, but only adds to the experience, rather than dominating it. The menu has traditional gourmet items like foie gras, escaragot, and port demi-glace. But what makes it unique is that they use turtle, python, and kangaroo as their canvas. Also, the top shelf wines by the glass are Washington notables that you may struggle to buy a bottle of, but feel fine to splurge for a glass. read more

We happened on this restaurant by chance. After taking family photos we were hungry. This was the best rated place in Duvall and we can absolutely see why. My husband had the Impossible Wellington and I had the starter of Seafood Empanadas. We shared the tempura mushrooms and even my kid, who doesn't eat vegetables, ate one! The atmosphere was wonderful and elevated. The chef himself came by and talked to our daughter. It's not on the menu but they offer Mac and cheese for kids and this was not your Kraft Mac. I usually dislike paying for Mac and cheese but this was worth it. We ended our meal with the cheese cake drizzled with caramel and it was a cloud. Absolute must try. We speculated on many aspects of Flavour Bistro, but none more than its decor. With its fantastical paintings throughout, lurid colors, and a lush tone that evoked the bedroom set in the last act of 2001: A Space Odyssey, Flavour Bistro's look states (we concluded): This is anti-Duvall. Meaning, all restaurant decor in Duval to this point has said "country" or "down-home" and Flavour Bistro's says, "We're different." It's a nice departure. We felt like we were in another world--or maybe another universe. Our server Bobby was gracious, well-informed, informative, and he made us feel like true guests. Tables are spaced far, far apart. If this is a post-COVID thing, we don't know but we do like it. We had the Brown Butter Brussel Sprouts and Impossible Wellington on one side of the table, and the Python Springrolls and Dungeness Crab Fondue on the other side. The Brown Butter Brussel Sprouts were fresh and healthy-tasting, which unfortunately means that they didn't have the decadent, succulent buttery taste we were expecting. The Impossible Wellington was ordered out of pure curiosity--or maybe the result of a lifetime of having real Beef Wellington thwarted by impossibly long pre-order times. It was rich and beefy without all of that cow-killing nonsense (and with no two-hour pre-order). The Dungeness Crab Fondue came with crispy thin slices of oiled or buttered toast, which one of us felt was too rich for the equally rich fondue. But our server was happy to bring us a plate of plain baguette slices that worked better with the fondue. The toast would have been welcomed with another dish, but it just didn't work with the fondue--or at least, not for us. Flaming Bananas Foster was a spectacular way to end the evening. It was a lovely night out in Duvall. It felt like we were trying out the newest place in Belltown or Capitol Hill--but without the increasing hassles that come with driving over there. We weren't bowled over by the food but it was definitely good enough for a romantic, unhurried meal tended to by an attentive staff. We would love to come back and have a drink in that swanky bar. read more

(Good wine list) Our starters: Beet salad, tomato bisque and cooked Brussels sprouts were all quite good. The bisque was ultra rich. I wish the sprouts had been hotter when served. We each ordered entrees. The menu had changed since the original reservation, which was fine. There were about five selections including a tasty mushroom risotto for all the vegetarians. But 20 minutes after several of us ordered filet mignon, we were informed the kitchen was one short and somebody needed to reorder. (Instead we asked to split one). Then five minutes later, we were informed another filet was MIA and we had to reorder. Ok, it was weird. When the filet showed up the kitchen had not split the order and we had to manually and messily do it. Desserts were good and the flaming lava cake was a hit. Liked the vibes of this place a lot. We marked this place as a must visit when we first moved to Monroe and saw all the neat places to visit in the neighboring town of Duvall. The husband of mine made reservations for us for date night and we arrived right as they opened. The purple glow and white background make you feel like you've been transported to a different place and time upon entering. The paintings on the wall respond to lighting near them and seem to change as if the sun is rising or setting in the painting depending on the light adjustments, it's really a well thought out and beautifully decorated space. Our server was nice and helpful. They had no trouble navigating the menu for my gluten allergy. We started with a truffle and parmesan popcorn which was quite addictive. I got a bit carried away and ordered too many starters, it was so hard to choose! We had deviled eggs which were presented with edible garnish, the lobster bisque was gluten free so I had to have that and it was superb. The brussel sprouts were plated artfully and had good flavor to the sauce. The husband had a Caesar salad which he said was a good standard. The fondue he had was apparently excellent but had the glutens so I couldn't have any. For our entrees he had a filet that was perfectly cooked and he really enjoyed it. I had a seafood risotto I didn't really care for. The rice was more like a side of rice and less like a risotto making it unappetizing but the seafood was excellent. We finished with the flambe which is never a regret! With so many delicious options on the menu we are looking forward to returning again soon. read more
