We tried this place for the first time and it was pretty good. There were 4 adults, 2 children and 1 infant in our party. The booths are very roomy and fit us and the baby/car seat nicely! Our waitress was attentive and polite and our food came out in a timely manner. The food was all delicious and exactly what we expected. The only downside is that the tables don't seem to work with kids in high chairs. We were in a booth and the only place to put the highchair was directly in front of the knob that controls the grill burner. While we had a somewhat cooperative toddler who mostly kept her hands off the knob. It was a bit of an inconvenience . Other than that, we had a great time read more

We were nearby and wanted to check this place out, the first Korean restaurant in Monroe. It's a fairly large space with grills on every table. We ordered a preset menu and were impressed by everything from the side dishes to the soon tubu to the Kalbi and spicy pork. The Kalbi was our favorite - very flavorful and well seasoned. I am glad this spot is in our stomping grounds because we no longer have to travel far for a place with great sides that tastes authentic. We went during the day and it was sunny out. The husband (see pic) and wife team came out of retirement to reopen in Monroe in the center of town along the freeway (Hwy-2). The ban-chan sides that come with meals are top quality and generous portions. I ordered the Spicy-Pork Bulgogi with Kimchee Soon (soup) as my main entrée. The meal was absolutely delicious and totally authentic Korean fare! Again, portion size was huge--I had to take half of my meal home for the next day! Monroe gets a beautiful Korean BBQ spot. Wow! This is excellent news. It's not a huge space, but it is comfortable, clean, well-designed, and beautiful. The service is okay. At times, it can be inattentive and distracted, and it can be hard to get follow-up service for extended periods of time. They also forgot to bring scissors and turned our burner too high for the initial cooking temperature. They just opened, so I think they still have some kinks to work out here. The food was good. Prices are reasonable, but there is no "all you can eat" option, meaning you can take leftovers home. The combos are the best price deals if you want maximum quantity for your money. The banchan (side dishes) for the BBQ are relatively few (as is typical at most Korean BBQ places now), but all were superb. Banchans do have "all you can eat" refills--just ask. That goes for all banchans except for the corn cheese that you cook. You can cook the meat at the table (do it) or have the kitchen cook for you and your cooked meat brought to you (where's the fun?). Outside of BBQ meat, they also have many other dishes on the menu. I lived in Korea for two years. I love Korean food, especially Korean BBQ. I saw this was in Monroe which avoids a lot of traffic and parking issues we have, so decided to give it a try. It is a small restaurant. There are not too many seats, but there are around 12 tables, and not all of them are set up for BBQ, which is fine. We ordered calamari, fried chicken, Combo C with pork belly, Yukajong, and soft tofu soup. The calamari was absolutely delicious. It was crispy and flavorful. It was served with sirarcha mayo. The fried chicken was the same. The flavor was great. It hit perfectly with the right amount of saltiness and umami. Combo C has brisket, bulgogi, steak, pork belly, and chuck steak. Everything was fresh and well-presented. As per usual, it came with banchan (side dishes). I feel a Korean restaurant can live or die by its banchan. Fish cake was a hit. My family loves a good fishcake. It can be chewy sometimes, but the bite on this was perfect. The kimchi was fresh and made in-house. It wasn't overly sweet but it was made for people who don't like things to be too spicy. It needed a bit more heat. The other banchan included seaweed salad, pickled radish, and bean sprout. All were very good. My biggest complaint was the sauces. I love the salt and pepper sesame oil. The one they served was terrible. There wasn't enough salt or pepper. The other two included some sour vinegar sauce and something like a chili oil. None of them had any flavor. This is why I can't give it a 5. We brought the soups home and haven't eaten them as of this writing. Service was great. Our glasses were always full and people were really nice. Bathrooms could have been cleaner but they were fancy with LED-lit mirrors and black sinks and toilets. We will be back read more

Really enjoyed our k-bbq experience today! For an asian establishment, the ambiance stood out with its squeaky clean and tastefully done interior and lots of booth seating with polished grill tops. The servers were super kind and friendly. One offered to switch out our old grill top halfway through which was a nice touch. You get the option to cook it yourself or have the kitchen do it for you. Do not go for the latter!! There's nothing better than cooking a small amount at a time yourself so each bite is super sizzling hot! Dip it in some sauce and you're in heaven! Oh and it's fun to cook food as you go. The aroma of meat sizzling away as you talk about how your day went is truly splendid! For 2 of us , the $120 combo B with like five different kinds of meats was a lot but we ain't hating it. Our fav is the pork belly, brisket, and beef bulgogi. The marinated meats are intensely flavorful so with some rice and kimchi, it just goes so well together. My hubby really liked the corn and cheese side that came with the meal in a tin and you cook that on the grill and it comes out gooey. Like the other yelpers, the banchan has room for improvement. Instead of the bowl of bland salad, I was hoping they put out lettuce leaves so we could use that as a vehicle to hold the meat. I will ask for that next time. Overall, very pleased and looking forward to more of the same! Also, excited they have a plethora of other menu offerings like Korean fried chicken, bi-bim bap, tofu soup, seafood pancakes.. all of what you'd expect at a Korean place. Ordered my fave Korean dish dolsot bimimbap and they served it with a hard egg. When I simply asked to pay for another runny egg (which the waitress knows I did offer x 2) as it's traditionally served I got a flat no! I asked if she could please check and I waited patiently (restaurant was busy) but after about 8 mins I had to flag her down again. She said and I quote, "the answer is still no". So we asked for the manager. He although nice was extremely assuming and condescending and tried to convince me that it always comes with a hard egg. Nope - every place I've ever had it (including in Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and other parts of Asia vs Us). The runny yolk creates the umami. Google it, AI it - a traditional Korean stone rice bowl, is typically served with a runny egg yolk (either raw or sunny-side up) placed on top. The intense heat of the stone bowl--often sizzling at 400°F+--cooks the egg, rice, and ingredients instantly as you mix it at the table. The goal is to mix the runny egg with the crispy rice that forms on the bottom of the bowl, along with seasoned vegetables and protein. And typically it's delicious. But not tonight refused to take 1.5 mins to make another egg. That I ABSOLUTELY offered to pay for!! Sigh I was so disappointed and upset - ruined our valentines dinner!!!. Soooooo lame man! While some modern variations might feature a slightly firmer fried egg, this was completed cooked thro fried egg and no umami about it. While I don't doubt this chef/family prefer it that way why they refused to just make another egg is crazy! the most traditional method, allowing it to coat the ingredients effectively. Booo to this place! Couldn't eat it bc it was flavorless and cold by the time they told me no egg and only sauce on offer was too spicy for me. Edit in response to the lies below. No one was confrontational (let's put that characterization from the owner down to culture differences - I was direct and naturally disappointed that my request for a new runny egg was met with such rudeness and disdain. Since the manager didn't witness ANY interaction with the wait staff he has some nerve accusing me of being the one who was impolite. If he was telling the truth why didn't they just bring another egg then? Furthermore his rubbish about the sauce - woah dude I simply asked if you had any other sauce besides the spicy one - again the answer was no, I said how about bulgogi since that dish is also on your menu. The girl with the short curly hair is the worst given that we who were a party of 4 just asked to be seated at the inside booths and she dismissed us by saying that it's meant for big parties and clearly there were like couples sitting in the big party booths. We then got another person to seat us in the booth and then the short curly haired girl proceeds to bring a couple right after us to be seated in the booth that she said was reserved for big parties! We are huge Korean BBQ fans and were excited when we saw one opening up in Monroe! We were cautiously optimistic when we went in not sure what to expect, but it didn't take long to see the owner knew exactly what they were doing! Even our 9 year old and 11 year old who are harsh critics were asking when we could return again before the meal ended, which spoke volumes! So what makes Blazin K-BBQ so good for us? 1) Food Selection. We love traditional Korean BBQ with all the sides (e.g.: pickled radish, kimchi, spouts, etc.) and cooking the various proteins at our table. The shaved brisket, steak strip, spicy pork and chicken were all amazingly seasoned. We loved the fresh veggies and dipping sauces and even requested the bean paste which they kindly brought out. 2) Service. In an effort to help those who had never had K-BBQ before, the owner came around to help with the process. We have been enjoying K-BBQ for over 20 years so we knew what to expect, but he taught us a few things we hadn't experienced before, which made our meal even better - which we didn't know was possible! 3) Cost. It's no secret K-BBQ can be expensive, but we found Blazin K-BBQ to be very fairly priced - especially with the cuts of meat they were serving. What more, we were very surprised when they allowed us to take our left overs home, which many places will not allow. 4) Location. It's SO nice to have a quality restaurant near home now! In the past we have had to drive at least 30-40 minutes to Redmond, Bellevue, etc. It's nice to not have to trek so far for great K-BBQ 5) Space. Our kiddos were super blown away by the restrooms! Call them simple, but they loved how the bathroom mirror changed colors and the lighting in the restaurant. They also were surprised (as were we) to see each table had it's own dedicated emergency fire alarm! Not sure if this is a new code requirement or what, but it seemed a bit of over kill and for the owner (if this was a code requirement) really had to put out some funds to make this possible). Needless to say - we felt very safe that should there be a grease fire - response would be fast! LOL! Super excited to have a place like Blazing K-BBQ serving Monroe now! Prices are a bit high for Monroe, but I feel it's totally worth it. I would totally come here for a date night. I think it's a great EXPERIENCE! When we arrived, it took about 15 minutes to be served. The place was busy since it was evening. We did table-top so we grilled our own meat. We got Combo A which serves 2 people and includes Beef Bulgogi, Beef Brisket Chicken Bulgogi, plus a choice of pork belly or spicy pork (we got pork belly) and the usual side dishes. The kimchi was actually super tasty and I liked how spicy it was (pretty mild but definitely had a kick). The service was a bit slow due to how busy it was but that's not surprising. Lots of groups and it was a pretty loud/lively environment. We felt that the meal was overpriced compared to other places and the taste of the dishes was good, but nothing extraordinary. read more
