Located across from the Amtrak station, I anticipated the place being busier on a Friday night. We walked in and waited about 10 min until someone actually seated us. I had to go up to the bar to ask for a table. Once seated, their service was very good. Several people waited on us, asking several times if we needed anything else. My husband got the regular size #29. I got the #57, and my son got the chicken fried rice. My husband and my meals were delicious. Lots of flavor and great portion size. The fried rice was huge but didn't have too much flavor. Not what they're known for, so I wasn't too disappointed by that. Came here for my first pho in Tucson as a Vietnamese Southern California native. I had high hopes as I've been through quite a few pho places in the southwest but none has been quite the same in comparison to California's style. I will say the pho was good. It had great portion and I was very full at the end. However the service organization was very weird. Not too sure if it was because it was the weekends, but the way they handle waitlist/open table was very disappointing. Why am I waiting 30+ mins just for a table??? They call you in GROUPS of how many tables are open at the time. It doesn't matter if you got there a while ago, or 30 seconds ago, they call you based on how many tables can be opened within a time frame -- which doesn't make sense. I also found the time to order was too long. Once again, they GROUP their orders table by table. Lastly, the time of them bringing out the food was also long. I waited over 15 minutes from them to bring my pho + smoothie out. And guess what? They also GROUPED it with other table's orders. The check? Again, grouped the checks/service of other people's food together. It seems very counterintuitive to be having that organization. Also a nit picky ordeal: my smoothie was 100% powder mixed-in and I barely had any boba in it. I probably come here if it was the weekday, but not the weekend. read more

So, first the good. Miss Saigon is a very cool space, with great ambience and a chill vibe. The food is excellent, and I've tried six or seven different menu items. Now, the bad... I've visited three times and will likely not return. While the food and atmosphere are great, the service is consistently awful. The staff acts as if you should feel lucky to be allowed inside the place. The servers are apathetic, and seem more concerned with their phones or each other than they do the guests. And the bartenders are not only weakly skilled when it comes to proper mixology, but every one I've encountered has this attitude which is a bizarre combo platter of elitist and "Bro." On my last visit I sat at the bar and waited nearly two minutes as the pair of bartenders standing literally in front of my seat swapped stories about the "hot girl" they were working the night before. We got the Chicken Wings, it had like a teriyaki ginger flavor and the jalapeños made it that much better. Next we got the Shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce which was super fresh and delish. Wonderful new location downtown that's all about ambiance. Although this restaurant has been in Tucson for nearly 20 years, I've never been to it. I came to it this week for a pre-show dinner alternative. I chose it for the seemingly wonderful atmosphere in the pictures. They did not lie. It was really pleasant place to be and have dinner and a date prior to our date theater event. The food is very good fresh and healthy. That was my other goal for this evening. I shared dinner here with a friend last night. We ordered #46 Bun Tom Nuong ($19), #55 Com Chicken Sate ($17.50), Fried Banana Ice Cream ($7), and Flan ($7). The first was a shrimp noodle dish and was delicious. The chicken with rice dish was pretty good. The breaded fried banana with coconut ice cream and the flan were pretty good too. Service was good. The parking sucks. You have to find your own parking. I didn't see a valet anywhere, but other than that, I strongly strongly recommend Miss Saigon. This is the downtown location. They have many others and I believe the others have better parking so if that's something that concerns you go to the other locations not the downtown. I'm hoping that the service is just as excellent and the food is just as good. I did have a mai tai, which I did not like at All. Got another order tonight, pretty similar, Vietnamese fried rice but I asked for NO sausage, low and behold, there are sausage! It also baffles me that they leave the tails on the shrimp they use in the rice. I also got two Vietnamese spring rolls and those were a thumbs down as well. This location is much nicer than the others. They moved from a decent location to this. The pho is on point. They appetizers are always good. Pricing is not ridiculous like some places (looking at you Newton Pho) for pho. Service is usually very good. This location is a good date night spot if you want an upscale vibe with homestyle cooking. read more

Had dinner at the newly relocated Miss Saigon on Broadway. I liked the former place, but the new location is exceptional and intentionally more upscale as are many other eateries near here. I tried the special which was a Green Curry that was truly exceptional. My friend had a curry special with Fried Tofu and Veggies that was also wonderful. We stopped on the way to the Fox and look forward to visiting again soon. Reservations are encouraged. My husband and I just recently moved from Portland, Oregon to Tucson, Arizona, and this was our very first pho restaurant that we've tried since moving here. It was a pretty busy Friday night, but we got seated right away. Service was ok, but the food was great. I went with the wonton soup and my husband went with a pho (I can't remember which one he ordered, sorry!) and they were pretty decent. Decided to have a birthday dinner with my wife at the downtown location - we love the university location and eat there often. While the ambiance of the downtown location is no doubt beautiful, they have a bar etc but the food and service left a lot of room for improvement. First the server forgot about our drink for about half an hour then made a mistake on our order. All that is no issue; but the food was not up to snuff - nothing like their usual fare. The shrimp tempura was dense, not seasoned and not tasty at all. The egg rolls which we order every time at Saigon were also different and certainly not comparable. NOT the place for a more authentic complex traditional flavor I was expecting. Seeing this in as like the highest rated Vietnamese "pho" restaurant I felt pretty confident it would hit but it didn't. Normally you get a plate full of delicious garnish, herbs,leafs, I got cilantro, sprouts, jalapeño... where are the leafs at? Also the noodle broth ratio was too much noodles. Wont be that amazing but here it goes and i do have picts ! So to start off we always get spring rolls both , Pork & Shrimp with of course peanut sauce .. Than we got today which we dont normally is the chicken lo mien which was pretty good but as i remember the lo mein noodles used to be thicker but these ones were skinny noodles . Still good ! We ALWAYS get the saigon fried rice with a over easy sometimes depends how im feeling crispy sunny egg on top with siracha , hoisin & soy sauce ! Usually get with it the pho tai , tai on the side and i dip it in before im about to partake on it , I recommend wings from there if you are a wing guy dont ask for ranch , sounds KraSy but look how i spelled KraSy lol you dont need ranch with these wings !!!
