I love this place! I can't believe it was only a mile down the road. They're clean and fast; reasonably priced. Not to mention the food is absolutely delicious! I had the clay pot rice with grilled chicken and the rice was amazing it had mushrooms, bacon, and seasonings that weren't too overpowering. It paired deliciously with the grilled chicken and even a couple piece of shrimp in there to give you a surprise. Also had the fried prawns which were super crispy not as much meat but nothing was overly greasy. We are travelers to this town and I was hungry and just used the navigator to find a close place to eat. We decided to be bold and go get Vietnamese food. Don't let the exterior of the store fool you. The food is so amazing!!! Everything we ordered was incredible, but my favorite was raw tofu spring rolls, the rare beef noodle, and the beef and prawn vermicelli. I come here pretty regularly and every time I eat here it's never disappointing. Yesterday I came here with some friends and we tried a lot of different appetizers and had some pho. Naturally, the pho was on point and the broth, noodles and vegetables are so fresh and tasty it's pretty mind blowing. I had Rare Beef Pho and my friend had the seafood special which has crab, shrimp and squid. These are our go-to dishes when we eat here. Both of us loved our bowls and we've come to expect this from Saigon 2. We also tried their pork spring rolls, egg rolls, fried wantons and the tempura prawns. The clear star of these appetizers was the tempura prawns. I personally don't even eat shrimp, but I could tell these were special and my friends were blown away by them. You have to see them to believe them. For our healthy (somewhat) desserts we had an avocado Boba smoothie and a strawberry Boba smoothie. They were fantastic and they have those cool huge Boba straws for the delicious Boba balls that make the drinks fun. I've been to this restaurant MANY times. I've never been disappointed and I don't expect to be any time in the future. The staff and owners are incredibly nice and helpful, and will do anything to make your visit a great one. Gone are the days of turning to pizza whenever the need to not cook comes around. Vietnamese food has become my new go to food when I want to eat out. Saigon 2 is awesome. I'm not really sure if they are affiliated with the Saigon in the southeast quadrant of Albuquerque. But I will say that if they are, this Saigon is better. The place is a bit small, but I've never really seen it packed to the point that you are not seated immediately. The waiters are very quick to attend to you and bring out your food quickly. I usually have the combination Pho or the combination rice noodle bowl. I've got into a new habit of asking them to make my combination Pho spicy. I really enjoy the food they make here. Portions are big and the food is delicious. If you're wanting good Vietnamese food in the Rio Rancho area, this is the place to go. read more

Saigon 2 opened in Rio Rancho on 11/11/11. It quickly became a favorite. Excellent food beautifully prepared. The menus at Saigon and Saigon 2 are almost identical. Vicky was there the night we dropped in for our initial Westside visit. But this time I had to try my favorite pho-pho tai nam, with the tai on a separate plate to be added at the table. This keeps it from being overcooked, and it still retains the texture and taste of very rare beef. This pho is outstanding, and among the very best in the Duke City area. Fragrant, tasty, and beautifully spiced. We tried two appetizers: Pork and shrimp spring rolls (great) and stir-fried mussels with tamarind (#9 on the menu). These guys were plump, tender, and succulent, and the tamarind-based sauce is a welcome addition to the customary white wine and garlic steaming broth that is widespread here. Delicious, and a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. Wash the whole meal down with a glass of fresh lemonade, and ask for it to be not too sweet with some salt added. This salty lemonade has long been my favorite beverage in Vietnamese restaurants since I discovered it thirty years ago. The Vietnamese iced coffee is excellent here, too. * read more

Love their beef pho. I can't eat the normal huge bowl that's served and they always let me order a child's size, which is actually still a good amount. We go there quiet often, they have a big menu selection although I usually just go to get my pho fix. Their broth is good for the soul! read more

Everything seems fresh and tastes good. We had the #11 which is just the basic beef pho and the #27 which is a spicier pho. They were both quick and good. The place seems clean and the service is good. The average price seemed to be around $10 per person. If you like pho and are in Rio Rancho you should go here. read more

This Place has the best Pho I've ever had... Everything is so fresh and the table side service is impeccable. If you are new to Pho this is the place for you... I also had egg rolls (6) for 8 bucks, which the waiter showed us exactly they should be eaten... He even made my sauce for the Pho tableside according to my taste. Some of the best Pho in the city with a flavorful broth and great service. It's a small place, but don't let that stop you from visiting. The shredded pork spring rolls are good, and it doesn't have any bothersome televisions in the main dining area, a real rarity these days. The food is always fresh and delicious. Love their Pho and Bun. I typically get the grilled Port but this time I got the shrimp bun. Delicious and perfectly cooked. I will add that I think 3 shrimp for an entree is not enough protein for a main dish especially when paying extra for shrimp. I ended up cooking a few more from home because I didn't have enough meat to eat with my noodles. This place is hopping with take-out orders every time we go and they're pretty busy inside (they don't have a ton of tables, but they're still doing something right). The broth is really flavorful and the meat is good too (meat with tons of fat is a huge pet peeve of mine, but their cuts are always really lean). I would give them 4.5 stars because my only complaint is the sauce they serve with the summer rolls (the peanut sauce is a weird consistency and then they put a scoop of something really spicy in it - I'm not a huge fan, but my husband likes it). My kids don't like soup too much they get lemon grass chicken and they always finish the plate which is a rarity because they have way bigger eyes than appetite. Been coming here for a couple of years now and they always give big portions. Huge selection of dishes. Very affordable too. The workers are always very nice and friendly. Get the combination pho or wonton noodle soup - very flavorful and perfect during the winter, rainy days or when you are sick. Eggs rolls are a must as well. Not much of a soup fan? We were staying in Rio Rancho and wanted a Pho Phix. The internet led me to Saigon 2, which was close by our motel. We were happy we wouldn't have a long drive for dinner. Evidently this is a second restaurant opened, the other being simply "Saigon Restaurant" on San Mateo. Saigon 1 has received good reviews so we were anticipating some good food at S2, we weren't disappointed. S2 is located in a strip mall at the NE corner of Unser and Southern Blvd SE. Be advised the address is Southern Blvd, but the restaurant faces Unser, on the west "corner" of the mall. We drove around the mall before finding it. It's clean and comfortable and the people working there are smiling and helpful. They will advise if you need help with the different offerings. Our server had a rather thick accent and we had some trouble understanding, but that's part of the experience! I had the rice noodle with beef and my wife ordered seafood prawn and pork pho. Both were served with fresh bean sprouts, basil and peppers that can be added to your liking. My noodles came with a small saucer of Nuc cham, which is added to the bowl as you eat. So excited to have such an excellent Vietnamese restaurant in Rio Rancho now. I've been twice, and each time my companions and I found the food intensely flavorful and delicious. The staff is very smiling and friendly. The decor in the restaurant is fairly bare bones but who cares: Go there for the food. I've had the rice paper vegetarian spring rolls and the pork egg roll ones, and both are great. The bun with grilled prawns and thinly sliced pork is very good. My friend had the bun with grilled beef and onion and enjoyed hers too. I've also tried the combination dinner with barbecued beef, and it's a good value at less than 9 dollars. A beautifully prepared salad with a tasty dressing starts it off, followed by a huge portion of fried rice, beef rolls filled with grilled onion, and egg rolls. read more
