I called ahead to place an order because I really wanted to try this place, I love my Tandoori Chicken! The hostess who answered was polite as I was inquiring about a coupon I purchased as part of a fundraiser for my nephews soccer team. But when the manager or owner got on the phone she was exceptionally rude and short with me. It turned me off from even trying any of their food. Theres other indian food places so if this place wants to stand out start with your customer service and phone etiquette. read more

Love the service here there's a nice lady at the front who takes the to go orders and she's always pretty friendly. I have tried alot of food here and all the desserts and I will say this. The food is much much better than the desserts. The saag paneer extra spicy is my favorite item here. My mouth is drooling as I discuss it. I tried all the desserts and there wasn't a single one which I loved, and I've had Indian desserts many times before. Average dinner price for RR. Only 2 staff worked the Friday dinner rush. Thankfully with efficiency. The rice was not 6 hours old like so many Asian restaurant dinners. The spinach paneer tasted unique compared to other Indian restaurants, though not necessarily better. The spinach itself did not spark joy. It had a certain crunchiness, though that's not the right word, and I'm a saag curry food snob so I'll move on. The fish curry uses mahimahi. Can't blame the average restaurant for the world's declining budget fish quality. This place was no exception, on this day at least. The fish was the weak link; the sauce was reasonably nice if not a bit bland. The channa (garbanzo beans) tasted fresher than other dishes and the sauce was so good that we almost got a second order just for that. read more

This is our first time ever visiting this restaurant. We've always passed by this or seen this on Yelp multiple times, but we never decided to come and try it. I am so glad that we did. This restaurant was inviting and spacious, I'm sure they get really busy during their lunch buffets. This place is definitely a hidden gem here in Rio Rancho. We enjoyed the staff, the food and the service. And we even brought home leftovers because we over ordered, we had no idea how big the portions were. They offer a lunch buffet, but at the time we visited it was the regular menu. Which was totally fine for us. But I'm sure the lunch buffet they offer is good, because our meal was so flavorful and filling. Like I said, we were greeted by friendly smiles and seated right away. We decided to try an appetizer, the Keema Samosa. Wow, it was so flavorful we enjoyed it. For the entrees, we decided on Chicken Makhani. We ordered two of them. Again, we didn't know how big these portions were. It is served with Naan bread. Next time, we will just order one, because two was too much and we ended up taking the other entree home. We also ordered one platter of Peas Pulao (basmati rice). Everything was fantastic and so filling. We will definitely be back here again. Hopefully, we can visit during the lunch buffet. Fiiiiinally got here after years of hearing about it and I loved it! Great for a date night, with nice, quiet ambience that feels just fancy enough while still casual. There's a big vegetarian section, most of which can be made vegan. Also works very well for gluten free people (not sure about for someone with celiac). We ordered the vegetable korma which was delicious and the aloo gobi which was also very good. Lots of flavor that was very well-balanced. The naan was nice and fresh and great for dipping in the food. We got medium spicy. It was slightly on the high end for me but totally manageable, and I like moderate spice. My partner who likes spicy found could have gone hotter. The staff came around several times to check on us and fill our water and were friendly. I just can't get behind the price increase. The Tikka Masala is $22. It's 6 chunks of chicken in sauce. I got it delivered and it didn't come with naan or rice or any veggies. Just half a chicken breast in sauce for $22. Not worth it. read more

I barely ever go to Rio Rancho. Like, I only literally was in the area maybe 2-3 times since I moved to Albuquerque. However, I recently found myself in the NW ABQ area around lunch time and decided out of whim to just pick a place to try for lunch, since I barely ever was in the area. I ended up choosing Namaste partly because of a few reasons. I like Indian food and never really had it for a while. Also, they had a high rating/great customer reviews and...simply, because they also lunch buffets, so I could pick and try anything that I want from the buffet line! I stopped by just under an hour after their opening and they already have quite a few people there. I liked that they had plenty of parking (the store used to be old Pizza Hut store as someone mentioned), so parking was never really an issue). Also, upon walking in, the waitress was friendly and helpful. She directed me to my table and grabbed the drink I needed along with a complementary basket of naan...then I was off to a buffet line! I loved that they had so many options. I tried everything I wanted to try and had quite a plateful of food + dessert (mango pudding) ..and loved everything about it! So many things I liked about this place. The food was well spiced and didn't seem as oily as some other Indian restaurants I had been to. The line was clean...and plus, the chutney and condiments also were all tasty! I loved the tamarind sauce, the mint chutney and the diced, pickled onions! It was so lovely! The only unfortunate part about my meal was that..I usually am not a big fan of buffet. I don't like sharing the line of food with other people I don't know. I also hadn't been eating in a large proportion (that's more aligned with buffet) for so long..that I could only finish just one big plate and a small dollop of mango pudding! And, when we need that sure fire, kid pleasing but something "different" quickie...we come to Namaste!! It's located perfectly for us since we can make the call we're exiting the driveway... And by the time we get there, it's ready :-). What more can one ask for?!?!? They have a very underrated lunch buffet too...just saying. Went to Namaste in RR for lunch today and it was absolutely wonderful! The service was prompt and cheerful. Our waters were refilled before they were empty. And the food was delicious. We had the lamb and pea somosas, the chicken tikka kebabs, and the lamb kofta meatballs in creamy curry. It came with naan and rice. Everything was so hot and fresh. Delicious food! The flavors were a little more subdued than expected, but I've noticed other Nepalese restaurants have similar flavors. Still delicious though. Reasonable prices and a great menu. They're carrot desserts was fantastic! The Kashmiri naan was also amazing. I would definitely return. It was a pick up order so the service was nice and quick. Praise God, their lunch buffet is open on Sunday. We came out here a few Sundays ago and I wept the whole way home because they were not open and they just updated their status to open on Sundays. You must try this place. It is the best food on the Indian cuisine that I have had out here in this desolate area. Namaste is a fairly consistent place to go to in Rio Rancho. My partner and I got some appetizers and then a main course to split. We ordered them to go so we could take items to the bosque to have a picnic. I owe my visit to Namaste to Larry McGoldrick, who wrote the Larry's Food Musings blog, on the Internet. Unfortunately, Larry passed away in August of 2021. Luckily, his blog and Yelp reviews can still be found on-line, helping hungry people looking for great food. Larry lived in Corrales, and Namaste happened to be one of his favorite restaurants. I visited here with two friends, on Thursday, February 18, 2022. Namaste moved to its current location, an old Pizza Hut, in 2018. They are located at 1580 Deborah Road SE, in Rio Rancho. While waiting outside for my friends, I noticed at least five customers pick up carry out orders in the ten minutes I was outside. This restaurant has a robust take-out business. Upon entering, we were greeted with delectable smells and a "Namaste" by a friendly server. Namaste means, "The divine in me bows to the divine in you". The inside of the restaurant was well lit, the tables and booths were well maintained and super clean. We sat in a booth on the south side of the restaurant. The waitress brought us a starter of papadum, 2 crispy crackers made with lentil flour with red and green dipping sauces. I didn't try these, but my friends liked them. We decided to pick three main dishes to share between us. I picked the fish Korma ($15.95), a favorite of Larry's, and my friends picked the shrimp saag ($15.95) and lamb curry ($14.95). As a side we ordered garlic ($2.25) and regular Naan ($1.95). The garlic naan was light and airy and had a generous sprinkling of minced garlic. Our lamb, fish and shrimp dishes had different colored sauces that weren't overpowering spice-wise and perfectly complemented the meats. One of my friends noted that they don't usually like fish, but the yellow, creamy korma onion sauce with cashews and almonds really put this fish over the top. We all crowned the fish korma champion of the three dishes. I could easily see why the fish korma had been a favorite of Larry's. The shrimp saag featured giant prawns inside a rich, creamy green spinach sauce. We voted this dish a close second. Our lamb curry had giant cubes of lamb meat swimming in a red onion curry sauce. This dish came in third, only because the first two dishes were so good, and we liked their sauces better. The lamb meat was super tender. During our meal our waitress checked on us so often we never saw the bottom of our water glasses. She always smiled and genuinely cared about our experience at the restaurant. About ten minutes after ordering our food it came out of the kitchen piping hot. The service here is very fast and friendly. This restaurant is the complete package: close to home, clean, fast/friendly service, great tasting and delicious food, and not too expensive. For three dishes, and two orders of naan, we paid $51.05. When split three ways, this came out to $17.63 with tax. A great value for healthy, delicious food. My only regret was not visiting this spot sooner! read more

We had 2 lunch buffets. $30. This Indian buffet is pretty awesome. They have all the staples (including rice, butter chicken and tandoor chicken) and they have some nice tasting chutneys. They tandoor chicken was really great but the butter chicken was a little plain tasting. Adding the mint chutney brought it to life. I'd give 4.5 stars if possible because the Taaj Palace buffet is much better (on good days). But, the service and cleanliness here were top notch so 5 stars it is!! read more

My favorite Indian restaurant in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Please note that they are currently open on Tuesdays! I really enjoy the variety of dishes that they have and that have a few lamb and goat options. The lamb curry and the goat curry are both so yummy. Recently I tried a dish I never had before called Malai Kofta and I'm so glad I did. I believe it has cardamom in it. It's so good and my family loved this dish as well. We have ordered and picked up and also eaten at the restaurant. Either option the employees are very helpful and friendly. We will definitely keep coming back! read more

What better way to repurpose an old Pizza Hut building than to put in a Indian/Nepali restaurant that serves delicious food! We got here at opening time, so there was no wait. But it began filling up shortly after we got here. Must be a good sign. Menus came quickly as did our drink order. I like curry, so Curry Lamb was my choice, and Tandoori Chicken our other selection. Our food was served family style - with rice and naan on the side. The lamb was tender and the curry didn't overpower the meat. The Tandoori Chicken was falling off the bone good. It was moist and tender. Both dishes were delicious. So we topped it off with dessert. The Mango Custard looked and tasted irresistible. The Rasmalai (Creamed cheese patties in a sweet thickened milk and pistachio) was definitely a favorite. This is a definite return to place. The next time I think it will be the buffett so we can find a favorite entree for the next evening meal. The Chai is the BEST in town and best in all of Albuquerque area! I prefer this buffet over the rest. I would give this ten stars if possible. For the longest time, I stayed away from this Namaste because I had some weird experiences with their other location. But this restaurant (the one in Rio Rancho) is hands down the best Indian place I've been to in Albuquerque. I honestly feel I've lost out on so much by avoiding this place in the beginning! This is the closest you will get to authentic homemade food from India & Nepal in Albuquerque. The aloo gobi is amazing (it feels like something that was made in mom's kitchen), the saag paneer is very restaurant like but of course tasty. Their naan is always fresh. My husband ordered the tandoori mix and he loved the chicken. The shrimp was great too, but the husband didn't like the lamb & fish as much. They also have half orders which I think is such an excellent idea! I wish other restaurants did that too. The buffet is hands down the best one.. they've got a good combo of tasty vegan, vegetarian and meat dishes. The great thing is that their buffet dishes are just as good as the entrees when you order directly from the menu.
