    Red curry with pepper "steak"
    Fiana S.

Thai Vegan is great. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy, with warm lighting and fun wall colors. The staff is nice too. Food-wise, it's amazing to have an entire vegan Thai menu with multiple protein choices and no need to worry about fish oil or sauce hidden in any of the dishes. They have good curry, appetizers, fried chick'n and orange chick'n, larb salad which I don't think I've found vegetarian anywhere else, or maybe once, American dishes as well, good tofu, and more. I like the red rice that they put in a heart shape. The mango with sticky rice is yummy. I'm not a big fan of the pepper steak due to its lacking of flavor and tough texture, or some of the seafood, but it's great to have all the vegan protein options.

Lively interior. Staff is kind. Dining room is a bit cramped. Menu is abundant and provides a wide variety of options to vegans. Red curry was okay. Tons and tons of vegetables (I subbed veggies instead of tofu or the other mock protein options). The carrots were extra delicious and sweet. The curry itself was a bit more on the savory side which I why I call it okay vs great. The consistency was on the thicker side which my palate prefers. Side salad was fair, nothing special. Bathroom needed some serious attention. TP missing, sink faucet isn't oriented for correct operation. Paper towels empty. Wait time was acceptable. IMO, prices are a bit high for some items. Didn't depart planning a return asap, but would consider it again and try something else.

Thai Vegan was delicious and one of the best vegan places in Albuquerque. But also, it happens to be one of the best Thai places I've had in Albuquerque. We were surprised we hadn't had this place before but it's tucked away and a bit hidden off of the main road. There's not too much seating but we had no trouble getting seating for a group of 6 right away at dinner time!

After ordering take away the last half dozen times, we finally decided to dine in. And as good as I thought their food was after sitting in an Uber-eats delivery vehicle for 15-20 minutes, it's even better fresh from the kitchen. I continue to be impressed with the quality of their vegan "meat." It brings substance, flavor, texture and protein to the dish. This time I ordered a large noodle dish. The noodles were perfectly cooked and well coated with sauce. The veggies were properly stir fried--cooked and crisp at the same time. The food is quite spicy but the heat did not overpower the rest of the ingredients. A quick squeeze of lime added some acid to cut the richness and brighten the overall flavor. I'm in town for a month--so I'll be back!

Happy Songkran Festival here at Thai Vegan! Shrimp Spinach Noodle (2 orders), Oad Thai (2), House Salad, Spicy Eggplant, 4 Thai Iced Tea, 1 Chrysanthemum Tea, was exquisite, pretty display, ample portions, very good-tasting. I loved the flavors of lemongrass, ginger, sauces, most excellent. May the Kingdom of Siam be blessed. Much blessings to Thai Vegan! My friends were very very happy during three (3) hour lunch. It was most relaxing, great conversation. I want to move to Bangkok, Thailand but this food changes my mind! We have the best Thai food in America!

Don't overlook this place just because it has vegan in it's name. By a friend's recommendation, we dined at Thai Vegan and I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. I ordered the dinner combo which includes an entree of your choice (limited options), a side salad, and two eggrolls. The portion size was large and I could not finish my entire meal. I had the Pad Thai with tofu and it was absolutely scrumptious. I love that this dish was far from bland. I got to try the chicken (soy) satay and you wouldn't even know it wasn't real chicken. Although I didn't have the curry here, I saw my friend's husband order it and the rice comes in a heart shape - just a cute little touch! We ended the night with coconut ice cream which was a dream. Not too sweet, full of coconut flavor, and the icy goodness just melts in your mouth. The only reason for the subtraction of one star is service. We had to wait quite a long time in order for our bill to be given and processed. Overall though, the staff here are very friendly! Definitely would recommend - it's a solid Thai place!

Food is fabulous, fast, reasonably priced and vegan! Decor and sound track give a nice ambiance so I come here as often as I can!

The last time I was here was over 4 years ago. This visit brought back memories :) On this visit, I had their yellow curry with soy chicken. It was tasty and did the dinner combo which came with a salad, brown rice, and spring roll. Although the spring roll was fried, it was good. I'm just used to the Vietnamese spring roll which is fresh. The food was tasty and the service was good. Apparently, they take reservations now, which was good to know.

Now that's red curry - big delicious flavor!

I peruse the menu, another customer drops their shake. Gonna be longer. That's fine, go help them. "No, I can take your order REALLY FAST." Well, I was looking at the menu, but cool to be rushed. I remember when the young lady that used to work there was at the counter. 6-8 people in line, greeted with a smile and Hi! Welcome in! There was a longer wait, but it was ok, because the service was good, and so was the food. Today? I'll never return. I spent over $15.00 including a credit card surcharge (a business owner that wants to take credit cards but can't be bothered to be a business owner and pay their bills.) I left a $5 cash tip - I figured I'd the business owner can't pay the 3% on a bad merchant account, they most likely aren't paying the staff livable wages... I sat down and put my gear down, and waited... for about 15 minutes, before this garbage salad that was falsely advertised as having toppings and 3 sliced chick'n strips. The entire salad didn't fill the bowl.? On the bottom were less than a teaspoon of diced tomatoes. In the entire salad there was ONE "fried onion." The lettuce was chopped like slop, there was barely enough chick'n to call it 1.5 slices. Absolute trash. For 15$ I ate my salad, listening as Morticia Addams' understudy pleasantly said good bye, have a nice day, et cetera to the customers who were leaving. I got up, threw my trash, walked out. Silence: The whole time I was in there, a cheap speaker was streaming some crappy 90s "radio friendly hip hop." When my salad was brought to me, even after explaining it's very hard to eat, or carry , a salad on a motorcycle, it arrived in a to-go/carry out, lid is RIGHT THERE,.Morticia helpfully pointed it out, a subtle hint that I wasn't a welcome guest. As I was gearing up to get on my motorcycle out comes our antagonist. Not to be polite or anything. To smoke or vape. I didn't stick around to smell which one she was doing in the doorway. I get it, lucky goose doesn't want my money. They've made it abundantly clear. That's fine. I'll go to Steelbender, where they have vegan options, and like that customers come on to give them money. I accidentally posted this review to the uptown location. I've never been, and will never be, to that location. This review was the knob hill location.

We came around 3:30pm so we could catch the masala chai happy hour. I love masala chai and rarely have the chance to get freshly made dairy-free chai. I was disappointed basically from the first moment after walking inside. The server greeted us by announcing, "We are out of vegetables today." I didn't know how this was possible; eventually, she explained that they had run out of the "veggies of the day" that come with certain dishes such as the yogi plate; they were still able to provide vegetables in other dishes like the kitchari. But I was shocked, since I love vegetables, and their veggies of the day are so prominently advertised. I asked if the other location had vegetables available today. The server was unable to tell me. We decided to place our order anyway. I had some questions about the baked goods, since I rarely get the chance to have desserts that are vegan and seed oil-free. I was curious if any of the baked goods was entirely oil-free or at least free of coconut oil. The server seemed very unmotivated to help me figure this out. When I asked about ingredients, she just repeatedly pointed me to the labels on the cookies that denoted the type of sugar each one contained as well as certain allergens, but did not have full ingredient lists. I asked if the chef or manager might be available to clarify certain ingredients, only to be told that "the chef usually only works in the mornings." I was at a loss, and eventually, with some obvious reluctance, the server went into the kitchen to ask one of the cooks about the ingredient lists. The server returned saying "Yes, the majority of the items have coconut oil." Ummmm the majority? Which ones, exactly? At this point, I gave up and just did not order dessert. I tried to order an iced chai which they were out of. I ended up getting a hot chai as well as kitchari and dal. The chai was pretty average. It wasn't particular spicy nor particularly hot. The kitchari and dal were actually incredibly delicious. It's rare to find a restaurant that doesn't use excessive salt; these dishes were perfectly seasoned with warm, nourishing spices and very little (if any?) salt. Even the fact that they were served basically lukewarm didn't detract from how much I enjoyed them. This place seems truly special and I don't know if my experience was an exception. I really wanted to love them, but they made it pretty difficult, despite having great and healthy food.
