On my way home, I was so hungry. Asked Siri for a local breakfast spot and it brought me to this cafe. Plenty of parking. As I walked in, the space was large and a very nice young woman greeted me at the counter. I looked over the menu and immediately saw the monte cristo sandwich. She immediately informed me it wasn't traditional meaning it wasn't fried and was on a croissant. I added a scrambled egg. When she asked what I wanted to drink, I chose the homemade chai with oat milk. It was a little cold in there so I asked for it hot. She offered me water which was self serve. I sat down where I could see the decor. She brought out my chai, nice foam on top. It was delicious and not too sweet. My sandwich came out and it was a nice size and they didn't skimp on the toppings. Ham, cheese, jam and egg and a side of fruit. Very tasty and reasonably priced. Quite busy for a Thursday afternoon should've been our first clue. And rightly so. A very extensive menu with a good variety of. The wait was minimal and the food was delicious. I had a breakfast carne adovada Indian taco that was more than enough for brunch but take home dinner as well. My wife had a chicken curry dish that was very good and plentiful. The huevos rancheros came in a generous portion and tasted fantastic, and the breakfast burrito with bacon was another standout. I placed my order by phone, and they were friendly, patient, and helpful. Stopped in for lunch, a little on the late side. Nice looking building and we opted for patio dining as it was fairly cold inside on this milder day near end of August. You order at the counter. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and a breakfast burrito. My husband, didn't like the burrito as much as some others he tried in this area. My chicken Tikka masala was very good. The naan that comes with it was a bit crispy, I like mine a bit softer. The service coming in was a bit lacking and the time from food order to delivery was slow. Down a street I had never driven down until yesterday, I found this hidden gem by searching Yelp for vegetarian cuisine. Marigold opened in 2019 and survived its closure. They provide a clean atmosphere along with outdoor tables on a well-covered patio. They are open until 2pm so as I arrived at 1:30pm, I knew that I could have to leave soon. The size of this salad was more than I could eat so I took the remainder home. Tomato Bisque is served around town and this soup was just as tasty. The staff was friendly even as they were preparing to close. I did not feel that they were rushing me out the door. I'm making this one of my go-to joints. read more

Tried this cafe today 6-22-24, absolutely delicious and fabulous. My daughter had the breakfast Indian taco w/carne adovada. I had chicken pesto panini with a salad and Xmas chile fries for an appetizer. All so tasty, fast and friendly service. Very clean. California gal heading to Texas and stumbled upon here to eat Food: The Marigold Salad was exactly what I needed during a road trip seeking a healthy option with many veggies. Perfect presentation and combo of flavors - crunchy romaine lettuce topped with cucumber, cherry tomatoes, chopped red onion, chickpeas, avocado cubes and feta cheese tossed in cilantro pesto. They gave an ample portion of salad and cilantro pesto on the side Monte Cristo was a delicious favorite too. The nicely sliced grilled ham, cheese and raspberry jam on a fluffy flakey croissant were very complimentary in taste. It came with a side of fresh fruit to clean the palate They had a baked goods selection in their pastry case which are from a local bakery Le Chantilly and are delivered on a daily. Drinks: Hot almond milk latte with cinnamon and cardamom was great. It reminded me of a cafe de olla with real canela / spices plus the creamy milk. Their choice of espresso beans were smooth pulling thru the drink and not acidic on the tummy Iced almond milk vanilla latte was good just a bit too sweet maybe half sweetener. The sugar disguised the espresso more, but based on the hot latte I knew their espresso was substantial. I asked for light ice and they still filled the cup to brim level with milk (California will charge or not fill the cup when customers ask for light ice) Environment: clean and spacious with indoor & outdoor patio seating. The inside had AC and different arrangements of seating. You order at the counter and find your own seating Service: The server/barista was helpful and graciously answered our questions. Very interesting fusion concept. The caramel latte was nice and strong. I ordered the chicken tikka masala. The curry itself was pretty good. I don't think it would beat a full blown Indian restaurant but good nonetheless. The naan smelled like Tabasco, which was different kind of chili than I was hoping for. I thought it was chile. The rice wasn't very flavorful either. But this entree was $13. I'm happy for what I got for the price I paid. I'd come back again and try another thing on the menu! I lived in Albuquerque for about 15 years and this was my first trip back for balloon fiesta in about 5 years. We stumbled in the Marigold Cafe and I'm so glad we did. I love Carne adovada and it's something I cannot get in Indiana. When I tell you that this is probably the best I've ever had... I'm not exaggerating. I am headed back to Albuquerque in a couple months for my high school reunion, and I am definitely looking forward to going back and getting the exact same meal that I got. We went around noon on a Thursday. They were extremely understaffed. Had just one waiter for the whole place. Had to wait 40 minutes for our food to come out. We got lavaburger and lamb burger. Lavaburger was nothing special with prominent taste being salt. Lamb burger had a nice mint mayo sauce. I also got the "freshly made" lemonade and it was way too sweet. read more

First time here and it was a good place to have lunch with friends. One of our friends goes there every week for breakfast and says it's great! I had the grilled green chili chicken sandwich but didn't care much for it. It was swimming in an aioli sauce that I didn't care for. Liked that they gave you a good option for sides with your sandwich and had a good side salad and also tried the sweet potato fries which were yummy. Such a great place! My "Criss Cross" was a huge soft flaky soft croissant with wonderfully seasoned scrambled eggs, green Chile, cheese and LOADED with bacon! I mean LOOOOOAADED! My husbands Monte Cristo was just as fabulous! Another huge flaky soft croissant with all the classic Monte Cristo fix'ns. Ham and cheese and raspberry jam are in the classic but he added an egg prepared over medium to add that extra umph! Both dishes were oh-so delicious! The tall cold glass of OJ was fresh squeezed but my "homemade Chai" definitely tasted like it was from a powdered mix. I was not a fan. I won't let that stop me though. I was excited to try the Marigold Cafe. I went for a quick lunch because I was pressed for time. What should have been a simple lunch (grilled cheese and sweet potato fries) turned out to be two pieces of barely grilled bread with three slices of unmelted cheese and burnt sweet potato fries. It was a to go order so I wasn't able to return it have the meal redone. The young ladies working in front were awesome but whoever is on the grill needs to be assigned another job!! This is the new restaurant that just appeared in the same shopping center as Calibers. I had wanted to eat Indian food and my friend suggested this place. It wasn't totally Indian however. It was a bit of everything. I would say it was Indian infused with New Mexican and American food. I ordered the Tikka Masala Bowl. The sauce was creamy and so good with the rice and chicken. I was so glad with what I ordered. My friend ordered the Marigold salad and samosas and both looked amazing. I can't wait to come back and try more from the menu. read more

I wanted to try a new spot in ABQ for lunch & figured there are always options at Indian restaurants. Marigold café is not the typical Indian Buffet for lunch type of restaurant. But the attention and care of the people who work there made me stay for a delightful meal. Since the oils available at the restaurant are soybean oil and butter & I do not eat any dairy or soy, I was about to turn away. However, Violette & Jillian (apologies for misspelling) talked with me extensively and together, they created a customized menu item, modified to ensure it's completely safe for me. I wasn't sure how these modified food would taste, but I ordered 3 tacos: cauliflower, Beyond Meat, ground beef with cauliflower rice. All prepared without soybean oil or butter & they ended up tasting delicious. The interior is artsy, cost, and comfortable. There is also an outdoor seating area. I've been meaning to try Marigold Cafe for a few months now, and finally visited today. It takes a little persistence to find them - Google Maps' directions were incorrect and I had to circle around a bit to get there. They're located in the Cabela's parking lot. The effort was worth it! I ordered avocado toast with sausage and an iced Americano; both were super. The toast was very flavorful; the only thing that might improve it would be a better quality bread like a baguette or some kind of artisan loaf. My scrambled eggs had bits of diced tomato and onion cooked in, plus some Indian-ish tasty seasonings. The sausage patty was fantastic; cooked just right and really juicy. My iced Americano was delicious as well. My server was friendly and helpful, and the whole experience was very enjoyable. If you're looking for a great little breakfast or lunch place, give Marigold Cafe a try. read more

I had always seen this place whenever I drove past it on Jefferson, but never thought much of it. Today, while working virtually, I was looking for something close and decided to try Marigold Cafe. For one, the customer service was phenomenal. Both men that I talked to were incredible friendly over the phone and in person I even ordered my food around 1:20, which is right before they close at 2, which normally I don't like to do. But the employees did not make it seem like a bother at all, and were very courteous and helpful. Second, the food was magnificent! I tried the local flave burger, which is a regular burger with pepperjack cheese and fried green chile strips. The burger was outstanding and the fries were so crispy, it was the perfect meal on a snowy day like today. My girlfriend tired the fried cauliflower tacos and the green chile curry tacos, and she loved both of them. I wish I had known about this place earlier. The ambiance inside when we picked up the order was very nice and trendy. This is definitely a place I would love to frequent, and I will definitely be back to try some of their drinks! Met a friend for lunch on a rare Monday off. Cute place right off I-25 and Paseo del Norte. You order at the counter and get your drink glasses and self-serve. Food came out quickly and was served at the proper temperature- I had the Mediterranean equivalent to an Albuquerque Turkey with a really nice side salad. The sandwich had Mediterranean style chicken sliced thin with cheese and green Chile on sourdough--- all on grilled sourdough. There were several salad dressing options. I had the chipotle dressing which was a nice combo of Mediterranean/SW flavors. Good meal at a good price point. If I were in the area again, wouldn't hesitate to come back. Nice patio as well as indoor seating. Was pretty busy by the time we left. Seems to attract lunch business from Journal Center. Enjoyed my meal. Would recommend. read more

I was slightly bummed that the edible Marigolds were not available/not in season. I wonder if they could offer a different option for a salad topping when they're not in season. My dad's chicken BLT looked delicious, wrapped in the baked naan . Chicken was a bit dry, but all very tasty with their signature sauce.
