One of Waco's newest restaurants, this is the best (and maybe only) place for Indian and Pakistani food. They are practicing good social distancing and have great service. You can have the buffet or order from the menu. We ordered from the menu. I highly recommend the spinach and paneer dish. You can always level up the spices, but the flavors are all ready very rich. Be sure to spend the extra $1.50 to get a basket of naan! Average price of entree is 10-15. Each curry dish comes with rice. Get the mango lassi if you want to treat yourself! read more

Waco resident who loves authentic Indian food. I've lived here six years and hadn't really had Jndian food I loved, so when I heard about Saffron I had to check them out. Let me tell you they did not disappoint!! I ordered the fish masala, garlic naan, and a chicken boti roll. The masala was a good level of spicy and had perfect flavor, it also came with rice. The naan was soft and not too garlicky. I hadn't had boti before but I really enjoyed it as well; the chicken was grilled well and had good flavor. Everything came out fresh and hot with little wait time. Staff was super friendly. While I was there I overhead two other customers say that they had come earlier in the week and loved it so much they were back for a second time. If you like good authentic Indian food I would check this place out! I will definitely be coming back here again and telling all my friends about it. read more

Wonderful customer service and really great food! I'm a Houston native and we have a huge selection of diverse foods, and I had been craving Beef Samosas, Karahi Chicken, and Butter Chicken. Their garlic naan is a must and their rice is fantastic! My boyfriend and I grabbed take-our on Friday night and both of us were very impressed. It's like a little taste of home in Waco. Take Out. So let's start with the fact that as soon as I walked in a young man, possibly the owner, looked at me a simply said, "I will be with you in a few minutes." No Good Afternoon or anything else. He acted as if I was waisting his time. Next is the food. My wife enjoyed her Chicken Tikka Masala. She said it was full of flavor. Mine on the other hand wasn't successful. I had the Beef Seekh Kabab with Saffron Rice. The rice was okay, but the ground beef kabob was dry as a bone. It was like eating sawdust. I have had good middle eastern kabobs before, and this didn't even come close. It may have been the cook, but don't know. As for the garlic naan, it was okay, but lacked something. Again, I have had middle eastern flat breads, and this doesn't match up. If it hadn't been for the rude attitude when I came in I probably would've given them a 3 star review. read more

This place is great! I have been multiple times over the course of a couple of months, lunch/dinner and the food quality never changes. Consistency is a hard thing to find in Waco. Went there for dinner last night and our service was incredible. If our server was unavailable another came promptly to take care of us. Great TEAM cohesion amongst the staff. Everyone was very friendly, not overbearing and quick to give some meal recommendations for future visits. Saffron sets the standard for what a dine in service should be. We also got the chicken tiki masala and the lamb curry as our meals. 10/10 each one! The lamb was soft and the chicken was so smooth it dissolved in your mouth. Salty, secondly saltier, again even worse than the 1st. same buffet every (weekend). The food is very, very high in salt. I have normal BP. 110/68 resting heart rate after a flight of steps. Your establishment made me aware of salt. Never, never have I tasted anything saltier until I visited this establishment. Stay away, from the Buffet. go down south you'll find better food to eat. Oh ! and the buffet price ??? I am definitely aware of higher prices now, inflation.. If you want something filling, that will hold you over for a bit, go to McDonald's. Love this place! We ordered take out from Saffron over the weekend. I love leftover Indian food, so I ordered several dishes to fill the fridge. Our order consisted of vegetable samosas and samosa chaat, palak paneer, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, garlic naan, a mango lassi and gulab jamun. Everything has been divine. Stand outs were the veggie samosas, which were seasoned to perfection! The chicken tikka was spot-on. The butter chicken was creamy and mild. It was all exceptional.
