So many different kinds of chicken salad and each one notable for flavor and true southern taste. There's soup and salads as well, but who needs it. A nice fresh pretty environment Not always easy to find in the strip mall but it's near H&R Block in Hewitt. You occasionally find guys in there too. They know it tastes good too! read more

My mom and I were going to McAllister's when I mentioned how often we drove past this place and thought we should give it a try, and I am so happy we did. The cafe itself is adorable, quaint, and clean, it is surprisingly spacious since it seems so small on the outside but the atmosphere is adorable and the staff is very friendly offering samples of their many flavors of chicken salad! After sampling both the Dill-licious and the Lemon/Basil chicken salads my mom and I fell instantly in love with the Lemon/Basil, the Dill-licious was equally as amazing but we had never had something as interesting as Lemon/Basil chicken salad and we needed it on the croissant. The croissant was soft and flaky with a great flavor, paired with the bacon the lemon and the basil was even better. The pimento cheese was so soft and delicious, the portions were perfect, and they give you a small cookie with buttercream icing complimentary, I just can't get over this place! This is my favorite lunch place in Waco. I'll drive all the way over to Hewitt just to eat it for lunch. Love the atmosphere too. It's the perfect light salad lunch. Definitely try the trio with the pasta salad or broccoli salad and their soup...which is beyond delicious. The chicken salad I love most is the Fruity Fran. Their egg salad is also very, very good. Love this place! I get two scoops: classic chicken salad or Dixie Chick, and delicious egg salad. Then get broccoli salad and a cup of potato soup. Get a couple extra pickles and then share with my Dad for lunch. He loves the egg salad, the soup and the little cookies!!! We've pick this food up many times for outdoor picnics!!! We live about 30 minutes away but have been following social media as Chicken Salad Chick came to Hewitt. My 13 year old son loves chicken salad and was so sad when Chick-fil-a quit serving theirs a few years back. Let me tell you, this blows Chick-fil-A out of the water! I had the Olivia's Old South. This is the fourth time I have made an online order with delivery, three times delivered by Chicken Salad Chick and then today, Door Dash. Three times I have been shorted something I have ordered. Their prices have gone up a lot and servings look to be smaller. I called to tell them I was shorted an item and they said to blame Dash. Now how am I going to do that? At least this time the person answering the phone apologized. The previous times I didn't even get that. I will not ever buy anything from Chicken Salad Chick again. We were there in April and let me tell you, if you want a nice, CLEAN, delicious restaurant then this is the place. All of the selections are wonderful and the management and staff unbeatable. We had a medical rep bring lunch to our medical clinic the food was fantastic extremely fresh one of the best lunches we've been brought.

They make a very decent chicken salad sandwich. I saw that pimento cheese and egg salad is also on the menu but I didn't try them. I also got a nice fruit cup with my meal. It's staffed by high school kids but they all appeared to be well supervised by an adult. All in all I was well pleased. The only observation that may be negative to some is the decor. If your husband hates the somewhat too, too feminine type of place he's not going to very comfortable here. I did think that the prices might be a bit steep for a sandwich shop on fast food row but then I'm an old guy. read more

When driving down Hewitt Dr you will see restaurant after restaurant. It just won't cut it to have great food with this many choices. Great customer service can be used as a tie breaker. Enter Chicken Salad Chick. The drive thru moves very fast. Simple menu that guides you how to order. If help is needed a warm voice will tell you which board to look at. When you get to the window the lady at the window had a smile so big the mask couldn't contain it(*its 2020) and my food is instantly handed to me. Don't call this fast food, this is good food fast. The classic Carol sandwich was very tasty and the broccoli salad as a side was the perfect compliment on this lite lunch. Definitely will be back! read more

Meat - The classic type is a mid restaurant standard tasting chicken salad. Bread - Is often hard whether toasted or not. A bit tasteless too. Spread - As far as I know there are no spreads added onto their bread. Very limited on fatty side choices. There are no chips or fries or pies/cakes. Drink - The tea is good. It has a fresh taste and not too sweet/unsweet. Price range - $8 to $11 a person. It definitely filled me up for a little while when I got the sandwich with a scoop of chicken salad, tea and the complimentary tiny cookie. read more

The new chicken salad chick in Waco Texas is totally awesome! We tried it for the first time today and absolutely loved it. If you want the best thing on the menu try the sassy Scotty which is chicken salad to die for. We are planning on making this new restaurant one of our go to places from now on. Went when they first opened, food and service were good. Second time, went through drive-thru, all good. The next three times going to the drive-thru, they were out of most of the flavors. I get this, no big deal, next time will go earlier. Next visit, went inside to eat. There were two people ahead of us in line, we ordered and sat down...then waited, and waited....6 people came if after us and ordered and sat down. All of them received their orders. A staff member finally came over to verify our order and then left. We continued to wait for another 10 minutes. A different staff member came over and asked what we ordered, said she didn't know why we didn't have our food and told us they were just putting our order together. At that point, I said no thank you and asked for a refund and it was given right away. Tonight, decided to try again after 4 months. Went to the drive-thru, there were several cars ahead of us so it took a bit. Placed our order and then pulled up to the window and paid and then waited for 15 minutes only for them to come to the window and tell us they were out of the flavor we ordered and did we want a different one. Asked for a refund and was given one. Will probably not go back since they never seem to have what we order. I just don't understand why it took them so long to tell us they were out. read more
