We love Mccalisters deli! I get the half spud and chicken tortillas soup. That's my favorite! My hubby loves the Italian sandwich and he used to love the Cuban! They discontinued the Cuban. But the food is fresh and the restaurant is always nice and clean! The service is always friendly. But our favorite is that the 2 managers (both men) are amazing and they say "hello" & come over to us ! It took a while but I ordered tonight. I ordered the half salad half Sammy and added a cup of soup. I had just got back from my parents. I am recovering from eye surgery. I didn't see my pickle so I called. One of the managers answered. He was very nice and calming. I wasn't very calm but he was very polite. He explained that not every order gets a pickle and looked at my order. What I thought was a charge for my pickle was an extra charge as the Reuben Sammy is a bit more. I ended up finding the pickle under my sandwich and apologized but he was very nice and said everything was good. I probably didn't see it as my eye is still recovering from surgery. Such excellent customer service. Btw the soup and sandwich delivered were excellent. The driver was very nice. The food has always been super. I can't get over how nice the manager was. He impressed me w his commitment to service. I have been in customer service for much of my career. People get upset at times. The manager here did an excellent job. Good ambiance. Wide variety of sandwiches-always fresh. Quiet. Also terrace outside. Crowded at noon so it is better to come around one .

The food was very quick and delicious. I bought the 12 inch Spicy Turkey Melt. It was jammed packed with meats, veggies, and cheese. I did ask for no tomatoes, but they gave them to me anyways, to be healthy I suppose. It didn't stop me from eating this delicious concoction of a sammich. The brownie I also purchased was soft and chewy. The service was 10/10. The young lady made her rounds asking if we were ok every so often, along with everyone else sitting and eating. We asked for extra honey mustard and received TWO sauce containers of honey mustard. Couldn't ask for better service really. The ambiance was wonderful and peaceful. No kids running around and screaming. Just folks conversing amongst themselves quietly. Overall, this place deserves more than the three stars that it currently has on this app. I applaud the employees who applied the veteran discount to my order. Did an online order and picked it up through the drive thru line at around 6:00. The guy at the window, without saying a single word, shoved the bag into our hand and slammed the window closed and locked it. We didn't even have to look through the bag to realize that we were missing half of our order. So we were able to get his attention and told him that a couple of things were missing. He tried to argue, then quickly changed it to he would look through the bag to make sure. So he took the bag back and slammed the window again. A few minutes later he came back with an additional bag. Not only was he incredibly rude and thoughtless, but the food wasn't even fresh. The baked potato tasted burnt, the McAlister's club wraps did not have mustard or mayo, and they didn't include the butter or sour cream for the potato. This is by far the worst McAlister's location in the area, and if we're being honest, there's much better sandwich establishments to enjoy in Waco than either McAlister's locations. Overall, horribly immature and lazy service, and food that lacks any flavor or freshness. read more

I never leave yelp reviews, but after trying this location multiple times and hoping the experience would get better I wanted to post a warning to help others avoid the frustration and annoyance. Every time we have placed an order (always to go) it has been wrong. The sandwiches/wraps were so carelessly put together that by the time we get home they have fallen apart (see photo). Staff is not friendly or understanding. Additionally, if you order to go and plan to pick up inside, you are required to wait in the line that goes so slow. I'm not sure if these issues are due to staffing problems, but I really hope they figure it out soon. We will be driving the 10 extra minutes to their other locations to avoid this place in the future. read more

We ordered two of the four cheese melt sandwiches (ie, grilled cheese) along with some other items. The sandwiches appeared more microwaved than grilled. The cheese wasn't melted and the bread definitely wasn't toasted (see pictures). We couldn't eat the sandwiches at all. The other items had issues as well, but passing off microwaved sandwiches for an expensive grilled cheese is unconscionable. An indication of just no longer caring. read more

Every time we order delivery from this restaurant in Waco, it is absolute garbage. Terrible portions, food is always falling apart, and rarely is everything the way we ordered it. Online order, 2nd time in a row I ordered 2 sweet teas with a lemon to receive 2 unsweet teas with no lemon. How often do orders come with no lemon/unsweet tea?????? Typical mcalister's. Nothing wrong, nothing extraordinary. Today's visit was great though in the sense that our food came out 5 minutes after we ordered! I got the roast beef melt, my mom got the French dip, and my sister got the turkey melt. All were good and I would recommend each one of them. My younger sister had never seen French dip before so she kept giving my mom a weird look while she was eating it. I asked why she looked that way and she thought the whole time the dip was coffee, HAHA! I love eating at places with lots of lighting which it is! Lots of seating indoor and some outdoor. Ordered thru favor app as usual. I've gone thru a few menu items trying to figure what I actually like. I found it. The 12 inch Memphian. Baby, I'm full as a tick. I had Mac n cheese as a side. It didn't look like much, but I devoured it. I finally found my regular menu item. I'm not a cold sandwich person, so this was perfect. Warm and filling on a chilly day! I ordered two Mac kids meal with sides of spud chips and I opened my sons first and immediately noticed how low it was. Only a few bites for the first mac and I looked at the second serving and noticed it was a fourth "full". We've dined in before and we know they give way more mac and cheese for kids meals. I called and spoke to the manager and he tried to tell me a "side" of mac and cheese is 8oz in whatever oz container so it MAY appear that way but it's literally maybe three spoons and that it. No way is it suppose to be like this. And again, we've dined in before and they served plenty of mac and cheese and still had some leftovers for both my kids. Hands down the worse curbside or carry out restaurant I have ever been to. Every time I go they always forget something or an item is made incorrectly. I keep filling out review after review, manager calls and apologizes and says they will do better and here is a free meal. Like an idiot I try it again and it never fails they forgot the butter sour cream for my potato or they don't make it right. I guess the only way to get the order right is order something that does not require any condiments or customize it. Managers constantly apologize and say they are working on it but I think the managers need the training instead. Obviously what they are doing is not working. My recent visit Wednesday they forgot sour cream and butter for both potatoes ordered, did not put salad dressing in bad for salad ordered and didn't make one potato right. Filled out review, manager contacted me and simply said we are trying and it's not happening as much. and that's it. Like I said train your managers first and then maybe the staff will follow. This site is not very good. The last four times we have ordered from there things were missing. When we called they said they would mail us vouchers to make up for it, and they never did. We completely stopped dining in their restaurant because it's always absolutely filthy inside. Sticky floors, etc...it was making us sick to go in there. I've been coming here for several years now but must say that it has gone down hill for the past several months. The sandwiches are thrown together. One thick pile in the middle no mater what you order. Today it was a scoop of chicken salad but last time it was all of the Ruben piled up in the middle. We have ordered frequently through DoorDash. Recently, almost every order is wrong in some way. Wrong sandwich, no au jus, short one soup, missing dessert.The list goes on. When I call the store, they say they can't do anything about "third party" orders. It's not the third party that has made the mistake. It's carelessness on McAlister's part. Where we used to order at least twice a week, we now haven't ordered at all in 3 weeks. I suppose they won't miss our business, but how many people is this happening to? This place is OK. It is a McAlister's, nothing special or unique about it. Reasons to go: 1) Big Nasty with a large sweet tea. 2) Pretty clean store the last time I went there. I'm usually happy with the food and the service here but yesterday was an exception. It was during the lunch rush and there were lots of kids with their Moms for some reason so it was a madhouse. I wanted a booth so I cleared a dirty table as it was the only booth available. I ordered the regular McAlister sandwich and a cup of potato soup. The bread on the sandwich was stale, just a little dab of lettuce, no honey mustard, just not up to their usual quality but I ate it and didn't complain. The soup however was a joke. It was barely warm and mostly liquid. It was not acceptable so I asked for another and the sweet hostess brought it to me in just a few minutes.
