Mumbai Chicken and Lamb Kafta rice bowl with "Garlic" Naan

I'll start with the positives. The two guys working were friendly and welcoming, very warm and inviting which you gotta have in the market. I didn't get a smoothie but they did look great, and may be the only reason I would return. However, a couple negatives. The garlic naan I got could have just as easily been sold as pita bread at a nearby Mediterranean spot. They made it "garlic" by adding maybe 10-15 individual pieces of garlic on a little speck of the bread. For the rice bowl, I got the Mumbai chicken and lamb kofta. The tikka masala was tasty but had little to no spice- not asking for Level 5 from here, but at least some more kick would be good. Lastly, I got hit with a 10% credit card transaction fee, making the final total much higher than expected. In all, I paid $24, which for $18 I can go to Spice King and get more curry and way better naan. I would recommend checking out the smoothies, but there are way better quick lunch options Indian or non-Indian in the market or market-adjacent.

Don't think it tasted 100% authentic but they were delicious, warm, spiced in a cozy way, and a great contained mess to dip into the sauces as we waited in line for coffee afterwards

Fresh crispy veggie samosas. The spicy and sweet sauces made the meal complete. Cute stall, attentive staff. Nice quick spot to grab a bite!

The portion sizes here are really great for the price! I loved the lamb - super tender, and the butter chicken was very flavorful. My favorite part was the samosas, as they were super crispy on the outside and the filling was delicious. A great place to grab lunch at Pike's Place!

I ordered a Lamb Kebab for lunch on Saturday. It was $8 and worth it. The lamb was well marinated and all the spices were good. I wanted to order the samosas but it was $4.95 that was steep for me. The lamb was awesome though.

We stopped here while walking through Pike Place Market because it smelled soooo delicious. Hubby wanted to try the chicken samosas (they had them and prepared and displayed in a warming case). We ordered one and split it. They asked what sauce we wanted but we didn't really know so they gave us a little of each which was awesome. We liked the spicy one the best! This was fast, convenient, easy to eat while walking and affordable. Definitely recommend if you are in the market - but heads up, probably best to order 2 per person to be more filling.

Service was nice! Friendly staff a little hard to hear with the background noise though. Tried the beef & chicken samosas.... So flakey and stuffed with meaty goodness the sauces provided were yummy but i would ask for 5 of the coriander chutney. Garlic naan was garlicy i wish i had gotten curry to go with it.

I'm not sure what happened on my last visit as the curries were on the colder side. When you arrive parking can be a bit difficult, there is a small parking lot out front, if that's full you'll need to find street park. The restaurant itself feels warm, casual, and bustling. Queen you walk in you have the option to sit on the backyard patio or in the dining room. We opted to sit in the dining room as it just felt more intimate and the vibe we were wanting for dinner. For our appetizer, we started with the Samosas (Two crispy pastries filled with your choice of freshly mixed vegetables or delicately spiced lean ground beef) which were excellent. Next we ordered the garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, and butter chicken. The naan and samosas showed up piping hot but the chicken tikka masala & butter chicken were cold. I probably should have said something as I was disappointed but was too hungry to care at that moment. If I'm in the Seattle area I may stop by Taste of India again.

We were really hungry and decided to join them as I've had this spot saved too as the reviews were pretty positive. They were definitely very popular but we were put on the waitlist but I think it would be helpful if they took peoples' numbers as apparently they would just shout it outside. We weren't aware as we went somewhere else to wait as it was very cold. When we arrived, a different employee started cleaning a table for us and we waited but then the employee who did put us down was frustrated with us as he called us and no one of us answered cause we were elsewhere. We weren't sure if we had a spot after that but luckily the employee who was cleaning was done and offered that spot. They also did drop a glass cup after cleaning nearby which was concerning but they did clean it up right away. Once we were seated, it took almost a half an hour to get some to take our order. Luckily we did get our water refilled decently but there were a few times where our empty glasses were seen and ignored. I definitely think there should be staff training as it was non-existent. I understand being busy but you're across the convention center so it should be expected. The music was also so low I didn't know it was even on, they have a loud fan going on and even their TVs have no volume. It's a pretty awkward ambiance, especially with how they try to look like they are a upscale restaurant. It did take some time to get food and it seems like the kitchen was frustrated too as I heard the bell signaling food being ready several times. The food was actually good, especially for the price. The portions are generous. We never had paratha but our friend recommended it so we got the aloo paratha while my boyfriend got their butter masala and I got their tikka masala extra hot. It wasn't really spicy at all, definitely nothing like what I've had at other Indian restaurants. The curries were flavorful with good pieces of chicken. We might return if we need something nearby but there are definitely better options that I would walk for.

Well better late than never I guess as we finally made it here and simply loved the food! I got my favorite when it comes to Indian cuisine which was the Chicken Vindaloo. It was wonderful! Steve liked his dish as well (though I can't quite remember what it is)! We got some Garlic Naan to go along with our meal. It was huge! But we chowed it down and loved every moment of it! It wad very good and this type of vodka added a great, unique dimension to the cocktail. We loved it! We to finish off this great meal we got some dessert with some deep fried goodness along with some cream. Yes, we had a fantastic meal here and really went all out by trying everything. Not exactly sure what to get, we ordered the momo combo, the malai momos, and the tandoori momos - all chicken. These did more than live up to the hype. They're simply the best momos I've ever had. The sample size on that isn't huge, as I've only had it from about three or four different places, but these blow those other places out of the water so much it's crazy. The quality here is simply spectacular - every kind of momo present is so delightful to consume. The level of marination on each of these is highly impressive. The momo combo comes with sandheko, steamed, chili, and fried types. Each of these are awesome. The fried momo has a great crunch without being overly bready. It reminds me a little of a turnover, but savory. The sandheko momo is dripping with a nutty, oily flavor. The chili momo isn't super spicy, but contains just enough for your tongue to feel that it's there - and it has a beautiful deep red color. The malai momos are also awesome. These are nutty and creamy to the max - drenched in sauce yet the dough still stays firm on the outside. The combination of flavors with the chicken feels like it shouldn't work, but it just does in a way that's purely addicting. Out of the three orders though, my favorite has to be the tandoori momos. These are plump, juicy, and the reddish brown exterior feels like they actually were cooked in a tandoor. They're the only ones crispy on the outside, yet the chicken on the inside stays the same level of soft and juicy as the other ones. I should mention how good the filling - despite being ground chicken - is. It tastes better than a lot of the pork filling I've had in other dumplings. We also had the garlic basil naan, with tomato achar. While the achar wasn't my favorite as it felt too liquidy, the naan was quite soft and enjoyable to even eat plain. Also the momo sauce wasn't my favorite either as it felt too tomato-forward. Each order was around $15-17, which for 10 pieces, I'd say is a decent enough price. Overall, I find it hard to believe that these momos will be topped anytime soon. 9.15/10

They have a good variety at good prices, which definitely impressed me and I hope they don't raise it as they get more popular. The service was polite and friendly and there's plenty of seating. The only downside is that the location isn't the greatest, but the restaurant itself is nice and comfortable inside. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of their momo.
