If you like massive portions and delicious flavors, this is the spot for you. It was my first time trying spice bliss and I went with the whole tandoori chicken ($20) which came with 2 sides of rice and like 10 pieces of chicken! it was delicious and lasted me many meals which was incredible for the value. The naan was good, I kind of wish I ordered a sauce or curry to dip it in but other than that it was very tasty. I recommend calling on the phone so that your order is ready when you come pick it up, rather than waiting in the small and busy standing area! Oh gosh, what can I say about this place? I am so excited to tell you that this is probably one of the greatest Indian restaurants I've ever tried in a very long time and let me tell you I ordered around 1:30 AM. This place stays open till 3 AM. The lady at the front desk was so cool and down to earth. She explained the menu to me and told me what the best options were and best sellers were that girl was cool as fuck. The restaurant itself is very very very small. There's a couple few tables to sit at. It's mainly one of those spots where you go and you order to go the thing is is this place is so family owned. They make the food so fresh right then and there so when I walked in at 1:30 and I placed my order. I waited for at least 25 minutes while they were cooking it and it was worth the weight. The spice level was so great. I asked for over five because I love spicy if I can get something even spicier than a five I would probably do a 20 if it was possible lol the flavor of the food was so amazing. I did go out of my way and try a couple different items that I've never tried before and it didn't disappoint. I would highly recommend this restaurant, especially for people who are traveling like me and I travel here to Seattle a lot throughout the year, but this is the first time I've actually experienced staying downtown and having a place that's open that late until three is so convenient for people that are night owls or people that work late. I really think that that's an awesome thing. Staff is rude. We went in on Halloween night, ordered some food, got the receipt, they said food prep is gonna take 30 mins. So obviously we waited outside the restaurant, because it was already crowded in there. We went back in after 25 mins to check the order status, and he mentioned he already gave it to somebody else. How is this my problem? I went in there politely asking for an explanation, and obviously I am anxious because I spent 80$ for the food. The cashier became very rude and started to ask us get the f**k out of the store. I tried to reason with him Peacefully, asking to check his cameras because it was their mistake and I was being polite. But the cashier called in some black guy and tried to throw us out of the restaurant even though we are trying to reason with him. We literally said we don't want the money nor the food we just wanted to accept their mistake. First time ordering Indian food by myself and I was a bit intimidated by the extensive menu but I went with something familiar: Chicken Tikka Masala Spice level 3 (to be safe) and a garlic naan. Food came out piping hot and I couldn't help but consistently nod because the food was hitting on that cold rainy Seattle day. The spice was there but still mild and I will increase the level for my preference next time. The portions are huge and I'm writing this review as I eat my second filling meal from this first time order. My only comment is that the chicken breast is a little dry but it won't stop me from coming back. I'm curious about the lamb and paneer as well. Otherwise the curry itself, rice, naan-- were all incredible. I look forward to being a bit more adventurous next time and increasing the spice. I ordered from Spice Bliss and went with a 3/5 spice level, assuming it would still have body and flavor like most Indian restaurants I frequent. I wasn't eating alone, so I intentionally didn't go too spicy. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the lower the spice level, the more water they add to the curry. What I received had the consistency of bottled water, with a few tiny pieces floating in it nothing like the rich, savory curry texture you expect. It felt less like curry and more like seasoned water or juice with protein. I was genuinely disappointed, as I ordered curry expecting depth, thickness, and flavor. This was my first time and definitely my last time ordering from this restaurant. Given the neighborhood, I assumed flavors and spice might be toned down for the audience, but instead, it seems the food is heavily diluted, not just milder. If you're actually looking for real curry with proper texture and flavor, I recommend Saffron Spice, about 14 minutes away, instead. Fantastic Indian restaurant in Capitol Hill. They have many great options on the menu, but my favorite is the kadai (I like it with fish). The spiciness is great - level 3 has a nice subtle kick. But this time probably was my last time to order food from here. I was on my way home from the airport and came in to order a Butter Paneer. The guy that took my order had let me wait for half an hour (even though the store was completely death on a Tuesday midnight) just because I put only $2 in tip. I waited outside as I had my suitcases, and he even put my order under his reception table, so that I wouldn't know it was ready the whole time. Until I came back in the store with intention to cancel it, he got the bag down there and put it on the table???? Doesn't he make it clear that he could have brought the bag to me if I tip more!? Got the butter chicken with a 5 spice level and it was good! The spice was tolerable and I would stick with a 5 if you can handle the heat. I went to this Very Small Indian Fast Food Cafe in Seattle and when I went in there was somebody I couldn't see him, profusely crying, whining & chanting inaudibly - it was very unsettling, alarming & scary! Great take-away. I ordered at the register, only had to wait 10 mins... but it was worth it because everything was steaming hot and freshly made. I had the Paneer Tikka Masala - rich and flavorful and they didn't skimp on the paneer. Vegetable Pakora was fresh and crispy, the chutneys were delicious. Hands down, the best Indian takeout we've found so far. You can't miss Spice Box's bright blue exterior on Broadway, so if you're in the area and want Indian food, THIS IS THE PLACE. The prices are super reasonable for the portion sizes and we've tried the vegetable samosas, chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, butter chicken and garlic naan. Everything was super flavorful with the right amount of spice. Other Indian restaurants could take a few pointers from Spice Box. I'm knocking down a star because both times we've visited, the rice has been undercooked. I get it, no one wants mushy basmati, but I also don't want super hard grains of rice. Also, we've only been given one container of rice while ordering two entrees. I ordered from another, who I won't name, and added that I had an allergy that carries heavily in Indian food which I was then delivered an order that was not mine (which included a lot of said allergy). Postmates/Uber eats does not make it an easy transition to figure out a solution (and when I say a solution I mean basically little/none on their part) when food comes incorrectly but I'm so happy to have picked out this place instead. The chutney and red sauce (wasn't sure what it was) were really good. I loved the butter chicken. It was super creamy and flavorful, and I got it with three stars for spice and it was a little spicy! My partner got the chicken vindaloo, and it was so good. The potatoes were cooked perfectly, and I believe it comes with chicken thighs whereas the butter chicken had chicken breast.
