The Customer Service (CS) Counter Representatives, Susan and Dave were very rude and disrespectful at the Safeway Grocery store on Kapahulu today, 5/3/2015 aprox 2:50pm. I went to CS to verify charges were rang up correctly for my Groceries. Susan was at the desk, as soon as I walkup to the desk, she says how can I help you, but then picks up the telephone receiver and proceed to to talk. I requested her complete attention to help verify/resolve charges on my receipt.
She tell me to wait until she get off the telephone. I told her customers in front of you at the counter are a higher priority than who is on the phone. She slam down the telephone receiver and in a very nasty tone, ask me. 'What do you want?". I told her I 'wanted' her to verify the rain-check credits were properly charged on my reset. She snatched the receipt and began to review very abruptly. While reviewing the receipt. the other CS rep Dan was helping another customer on the left side of counter, then he proceed to come over to the right side (where I'm being rudely serviced by Susan) , take over the computer turn it around put a keyboard on the counter - in my work space, having the customer to type on the keyboard. I asked, what are you doing, you don't see me here. you cannot say excuse me or something... just push me out of the way to allow another customer to complete his transaction. I a customer also and you are being rude. He simply stated I need the computer. I told him you can say excuse me or something, and notify both him and Susan I will report their behavior to management. Then Susan began to give evil/mean nasty looks at me, then look away at Dan. Later after Dan, finished with his customer, he briefly apologized for his actions before walking away. Susan refuse to say anything else to assist me with my concern. I stayed at the counter and continued to review my receipt, but without a calculator, it is more time consuming to be accurate. I stated I will go home and review the receipt and if there are any inaccuracies, I would return. Susan rolled her eyes and then in a fake happy tone, greeted the customer behind me. Not that both the customer on the left and behind me were "white-men" and I am a African-American woman. I really can't believe how rude, and disrespectful, the people here are to African Americans. If I was a 'white-woman' would I had received the same dis-service. I'm sure they would have been more courteous, considerate and helpful. However, If you are African-American, then they feel they can be prejudice and treat you with disrespect. I am very disappointed with this Safeway CS on Kapahulu, and I will let Everyone I Know about the RUDE service at the Customer Service counter. read more
