The worst customer service... Came to pick up a cake for someone that's leaving work that at the last minute granted was asked by my boss. She personally asked me to go to Safeway and pick up a half a sheet cake with inscription. Walked into the bakery section and there were three ladies working one went to the back while the other kept working on her cake decorating and never gave me a thought or a glance or the other girl working in the bread area noticed me and ask if I was helped I answered no and kept asking the other girl that she has someone waiting in her section to which she said "wait". Then finally she turned and said "yes"... and I asked her if she had a half a sheet of cake to what she said "no". Not a care not even a concern and this is someone that in the future would consider purchasing a cake or pastry from here sadly will not fund this person's paycheck with such disrespect, this used to be my favorite Safeway, but it has long gone downhill sadly as the vibe for customer service it's not what it used to be.

Shopping in Kapahulu, Honolulu, Hawaii... We were looking for the Waiola brand of Coconut Water at this popular location of Safeway. It was on sale for $4.99... the best price so far! My friend, Cece, is an excellent shopper and knows her prices and good quality, so I trust her. However, we weren't able to find any Waiola Coconut Water in the large, clean, organized, bright grocery store. We were going out the door - ready to leave - when... We asked one of the workers, and he was so kind to look everywhere with us! He really went above and beyond... with great attitude and energy! He searched high and low! We didn't get his name... shucks! People like this make us believe that there's still kindness in the world! Thank you!

The Asian women who barely speaks English didn't really want to make my sandwich. She kept insisting I grab the pre-made one. When she finally made it she gave me cheese that was so hard you couldn't even bite it.

This Safeway location was a frequent stop in previous visits to Oahu. A nice large market with a Starbucks inside. Their sushi looked good and seasonal items always catches my attention.

I don't usually come to this Safeway, but I was pleasantly surprised how clean, large, and bright it was. There was plenty of parking available close to the front entrance, so that was a breeze. This Safeway is definitely a lot bigger with more services than the Safeway I usually go to. There was a nice deli area where they were making sushi, cheese area, bakery, and freshly prepared foods. I stopped by to pick up a birthday cake for my mom. She loves carrot cake, which they had. They were able to put some personalized writing on it, and everybody in the bakery was very pleasant. They do have self check out, which I appreciated it since I was just getting one item. Overall, a great experience.

Customer service is erratic of late. This morning, Wednesday.25.September.2024...at self-checkout lane I get eyed suspiciously after ringing myself up for 3 items. Younger, local woman. I don't complain on yelp often because customer service is difficult. But an elderly lady in self-checkout also tends to be gruff with customers.

Safeway strikes again! After making a special, very inconvenient trip to take advantage of an advertised deal on bagels, we got there only to be told that it was an error and not being honored! First, how hard is it to change a digital ad on your own website? Secondly, why should their customers bear the brunt of their mistakes? Thirdly, fully half the time I go in for a sale either they're out or it's a misprint. Just not worth the time and gas anymore.

This is the item I returned and have not received confirmation of any kind.

Very convenient location, has just about everything you need. I placed an on line order to be picked up. I walked, met manager Rhea who released my order. I immediately returned an item as they were way too small. I asked for a refund, and Rhea replied "you will receive an email with your confirmation" I asked for some kind of confirmation number and she replied "the email will have the details" She didn't have a line of customers waiting, so I don't understand why she didn't work on it at that time. My order was picked up on 2/12 it's 2/17 and I have not received any confirmation. Unprofessional & lazy to say the least. Please review your cameras, you will see I immediately returned the pans to her. She had a poker face as if she didn't want to process the return.

Today i decided to check out the Safeway florist located Kapahuluu. My friend just came out of surgery so I thought sending him flowers with a get well soon balloon would be a nice thing to do . Walked into the florist department and got greeted right away . Her name was Keisha and I wanted to say Wow ! The best customer service I received in a long time . I ask her if they deliver flowers and she replied yes but you need to do it online. I told Keisha I wanted to have a florist do everything instead of me having to do all the leg work . First thing Keisha said what's the zip code than she did the ordering for me right on her computer in her department. I told her just a mug with some flowers and a small balloon. She than replied there will be additional charge for delivery fee $12 than I said not a problem. I was a very happy customer the flower will be delivered the next day and the price was right . Thanks again Keisha for assisting me and giving me such a wonderful experience. I would definitely be back to order more flowers in the future.

I got some fresh poke (and holy guacamole, there is a HUGE selection to pick from!), 2 cans of banana water (what the heck? I didn't even know you can make banana water LOL), some sparkling coconut water, and some veggies. I loved everything I got, and I'm already planning another grocery list to go to Foodland for more of their goodies! Some of their prices are a little higher than those of other grocery stores, but not terribly so. Don Quixote? The titular protagonist of Miguel de Cervantes' 17th-century Spanish novel, often considered the first modern novel? No, not him. Side-quest unlocked: Go to Don Quijote to looks at Trader Joe's-like bags and peruse affordable macadamia nuts. Imagine if a Japanese convenience store, Costco, Walmart, Japanese pop culture, and a late-night snack gremlin all moved into one building and decided to co-habilitate. That's Don Quijote, or as locals lovingly know it: Donki. Don Quijote is Japanese discount megastore in Honolulu where you walk in for one bottle of water and somehow leave an hour later with Japanese cheesecake, body wash, a rice cooker, novelty socks, a plush penguin, Spam musubi, an ankle brace, and at least one item that made you say, "Well, I've never seen that before." Every aisle is an adventure. It's part grocery store, part pharmacy, part souvenir shop, part beauty supply, part snack paradise, and part "why are they selling this and why do I suddenly need it?" The shelves are packed to the ceiling, the signage is loud, the deals are good, and the whole place feels like a treasure hunt designed by someone who drank three Red Bull Kyoho Grapes and said, "More products! More fun! No empty shelf space!" The Honolulu location is also gloriously open 24 hours, which means it serves a very specific and beautiful type of chaos: jet-lagged tourists like myself, night owls craving Japanese curry, and people making questionable but spiritually necessary 1:11 a.m. purchases. TL;DR, Don Quijote is less of a store and more of an experience. A slightly overwhelming and delightfully unhinged retail adventure.

We also tried the chicken katsu, which had a light, crisp breading and came with fluffy white rice topped with furikake. And even after we moved, we would still drive out just to come here for the seafood. That's how special it was to us. The reason why he chose Tamashiro over other grocery stores was simple--it was quality and because of my Nanay (grandma). His mom purchased from here and made so many delicious dishes. He knew what to look for, and he trusted this place. For him, it wasn't just about buying food... it was about getting the best for his family. My dad isn't the type to say "I love you." He shows it. One of the biggest ways he showed love was through his cooking. Even after a long day on his feet cooking for others, he would come home and cook for us. That was his way of taking care of us. I loved coming here with him. It was a five-senses overload--the smell of fresh seafood, the sound of people talking story, the colors of fish on display. Back then when you were allowed to sample a grape or poke to make sure it was good before buying. But more than that, it was time with him. I still remember the excitement I felt when I saw the pink building with the huge crab.
