I really liked this Market especially the customer service. The workers were really nice. I got a crunch roll and hot spam masabi. The prices were great. They let me sample a few things. Clean and nice assortment of things. I would definitely go back when I visit again

My local food pantry is incredible. The ladies and gentlemen that work there are just that. Always happy always greeting clients with a warm smile and a good day. The air conditioning is always cold and there's often a security posted as we do have quite a bit of homeless and mentally ill in the neighborhood. Staff are always helpful in finding whatever you need the fresh bakery goods and sushi are made daily.

They barely provide what people need. Most workers are lazy, especially the ones in the deli section. I said, "hello" twice to a lady there, but she was too busy playing with her phone and she had her gloves on. Really? That's normal there. I just walked off this time.

Had a flight in two hours and came here to get all my food for the airport! Started the morning with musubi and got some curry chicken and poke bowls

Great neighborhood grocery store. Very well managed and super clean. For a smaller store it has very good selections of products including produce, meats, dairy, wine, beer and frozen foods. I particularly like the array of prepared hot foods and sushi from the deli. In the morning, they have hot breakfast items like eggs, sausage, rice bentos and in the afternoons and evenings they usually have hot bentos and whole or half roasted chicken. Lots of metered parking on both sides of street.

A nice little store. Prices comparable to other mini marts and grocery stores. Excellent staff! Nice sushi selection!

    Different sushi's freshly made!

This place is a quick walk from the Ramada plaza Wyndham hotel. They have fresh produce (veggies and fruits), dairy, meats, frozen foods, and a sushi chef who makes fresh sushi to purchase. We have been coming here for many years whenever we are in town. I pick up the sushi trays of California rolls, tuna and salmon sushi's, and buy yogurt and berries, and ingredients for salads if you like to make your own salads as opposed to ready made packaged salads. They have other grocery items if you need them. Conveniently located!

Upon approach to our fave Chinese roasters, I noticed ABC Market with its fresh locally (some imported) grown fruits and vegetables displays. ABC Market has been in O'ahu Market's stall #25 for some time now but it took me until today to stop, browse and make a purchase. As I browsed through the fruits and produce, I managed to purchase a couple of Hawaiian papayas, green onions and bitter melon. The papayas are still green but I don't usually buy ripe papayas because they ripen quite quickly so these will ripen over the next couple of days. But, the green onions aka scallions and bitter melon were fresh looking and priced competitively with the other nearby fruit and vegetable vendors. The cashier was soft spoken as she weighed our papayas and then the bitter melon before telling us how much to pay. Our total bill only came up $6.25. I don't think that this vendor takes credit or debit cards as most vendors in Chinatown are CASH ONLY. She packed our papayas, scallions and bitter melons in separate plastic bags which made it easier for us to put into our Yelp reusable tote bag. We'll be back either in a couple of days as I was eyeing the soursop and egg fruits but didn't get them today since we walked into town and didn't want to lug home too heavy bags.

And even after we moved, we would still drive out just to come here for the seafood. That's how special it was to us. The reason why he chose Tamashiro over other grocery stores was simple--it was quality and because of my Nanay (grandma). His mom purchased from here and made so many delicious dishes. He knew what to look for, and he trusted this place. For him, it wasn't just about buying food... it was about getting the best for his family. My dad isn't the type to say "I love you." He shows it. One of the biggest ways he showed love was through his cooking. Even after a long day on his feet cooking for others, he would come home and cook for us. That was his way of taking care of us. I loved coming here with him. It was a five-senses overload--the smell of fresh seafood, the sound of people talking story, the colors of fish on display. Back then when you were allowed to sample a grape or poke to make sure it was good before buying. But more than that, it was time with him. I still remember the excitement I felt when I saw the pink building with the huge crab. I thought back then was to look at everything but now I understand that it meant something more..... something special--time with my dad. It's with a sad heart that Tamishiro Market is now closed. I saw many vendors that share the same items so sooner or later if you become a regular you will have your favorite vendor you will lean towards. They have vendors that sell already prepared mainly Filipino foods and desserts. They have vendors that sell you fresh fish and seafood as well as fresh meats. I always go to farmers market but I decided to start shopping here. It's convenient for what I was looking for. I see I can buy seasonings and noodles (dry packets) as well as many other things. I will return again when I'm running low on stuff. The prices aren't terrible but not that inexpensive either. You can find some bargain vegetables that aren't pretty but for $1 a piece it's good if you're using them up that day. I say try and go around and see what you can find. Plenty of convenient parking.
