Nice grocery store within walking distance of our hotel. I needed some breakfast items and this had everything I needed. They had fresh fruit, veggies, meat, and prepared foods. They also had sushi, poke, different baked goods and cakes. Prices were expected. Had local items and brand name items. Everything was clean and easy to find. read more

My local food pantry is incredible. The ladies and gentlemen that work there are just that. Always happy always greeting clients with a warm smile and a good day. The air conditioning is always cold and there's often a security posted as we do have quite a bit of homeless and mentally ill in the neighborhood. Has all the grocery staples you need, including freshly made (poke, sushi, spam and eggs breakfast, etc) and baked foods (guava bread, ube cookies, etc.) Friendly service from all staff. When I visit, I like to buy the spam and eggs breakfast along with the pre-cut papaya for my morning fix. They also have freshly brewed coffee available. read more

Great neighborhood grocery store. Very well managed and super clean. For a smaller store it has very good selections of products including produce, meats, dairy, wine, beer and frozen foods. I particularly like the array of prepared hot foods and sushi from the deli. In the morning, they have hot breakfast items like eggs, sausage, rice bentos and in the afternoons and evenings they usually have hot bentos and whole or half roasted chicken. This place is a quick walk from the Ramada plaza Wyndham hotel. They have fresh produce (veggies and fruits), dairy, meats, frozen foods, and a sushi chef who makes fresh sushi to purchase. We have been coming here for many years whenever we are in town. I pick up the sushi trays of California rolls, tuna and salmon sushi's, and buy yogurt and berries, and ingredients for salads if you like to make your own salads as opposed to ready made packaged salads. Thirteen minutes from tiki nest, ain't bad esp. if I got a chance to take a juanderful (wonderful) landscape of Ala Wai Canal & promenade. It's like a fotowalk for me! Got bunches of archives with the canal already for a span of 1 1/2 year. Anyhow... Yes! Food pantry is one of my go-to easy lunch & snacking. I personally haven't do grocery in here coz the price is so steep & not of that much variety to choose for. But on the other side, it offers you stuffs that a convenient store don't have. Most staffs are Filipinos. Some are kind & some are rude. Some are cool & some don't care. But most esp. they sure are one of the most hardworking pep's in this area. Hearing them talk in Tagalog/Bisaya makes me feel at home. I remember Metro Hypermarket & Colonnade Supermarket way back home. At times, homeless people come & go. Tbh, way back home every mall or grocery store we have has a designated guard on the entrance & exit. They help the place to be more wholesome & peaceful for other shoppers as possible. And guess what? Homeless people ain't allowed & no one ever step foot inside. Feel a bit secure though coz some homeless way back they're also kuku. Much smaller than foodland but had everything I needed plus they had some good stuff (boars head meat and cheese to be sliced at deli, Dave's bread). Employees were friendly and helpful. read more

Pretty good selection for a small store. The employees are always friendly and I like getting the poke and sliced pineapple. The store is kept clean and I can usually find the items I am looking for. They have a good selection of hot foods and there is never a long line to pay. The only thing I wish is that they had more packaged poke in the fish section. read more

Living in Waikiki for about 30 yrs, have wonder as to WHY The Food Pantry at Eaton Square has become more expensive than the already high ABC stores all over Waikiki.....luckly, many closed because of the pandemic. I can not believe, The Food Pantry which is owned by Foodland charges $7.99 for a gallon of milk. I haven't visit them since the pandemic but yesterday I ran out of milk and did not want to go over to Wal-Mart and decided to pay Food Pantry a visit.....BIG Mistake! What a disapointment that they are charging $7.99 for milk. I wish they would take the Maikai Card and give Hawaii Residents a break regarding prices! Charge the tourists all you want but they should be nicer to the Kama'aina, in my opinion. Very disturbing Food Pantry!! read more

I first found out about this neighborhood store was from Yelper Robert C's excellent reviews on Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. Thanks Robert. This is a game changer. Unlike the convenient store such as ABC that charges premium for its so call convenience, Food Pantry is a supermarket that locals shop at. Price is about 2/3 of ABC and it sells fresh vegetable, fruit, meat, seafood, sushi rolls, lunch box, deli, bakery and many everyday grocery items. The hotel room we stay at has a full kitchen and having a supermarket nearby make our 2-week long vacation extra economical. It is about 5 minutes walking distance to the store from Hilton Hawaii Village. I enjoy the leisure stroll to the store meanwhile checking out neighbor area. read more

I went shopping here recently and the manager? starts following me around the store muttering things. I don't buy anything and she follows me out the door, still muttering to herself. I come back another day and this time the security guard starts following me all around. Eventually he stops and says, "Oh, you're not him. You look like someone who shoplifted from here before. I am sorry for making you uncomfortable." The security guard was very nice but the store manager was not. I know all haole people look alike to you people, but you have to be more careful. How would you like it if you came to my work place one day, and because in the past a short old Filipino lady commited some crime, so I start following you around and hassling and harassing you just becaue I am too dumb to tell you apart from someone else. It's convenient if you are at a hotel or reside in the relatively general area of this 'Food Pantry'. Street parking. Don't think they validate for any parking garage near or within Eaton Square. If you want a bag with handles they sell them only for $3.99 each. Convenience is key in this Food Pantry (if you live in a condo nearby). I have been happy to find almost everything I need here. It is so nice that you can find almost any missing ingredient that you forgot to pick up in your regular shopping haul. The prices are a little higher, but of course it's due to the convenience factor. The staff is friendly, but can be short when they get busy. If you can't find something keep looking around. They have a good general assortment and a few items such as tortillas (some other big name stores don't carry tortillas). They have a RedBox, carpet cleaner, and first aid items for any hiccups that can pop up. read more
