I love getting fresh produce on the islands of Hawaii, and Chau's Fresh Fruit is just the place to get it if you want your smoothie made with authentic exotic fruits. They have all the fruits they use on display, as well as the sugarcane and juicer itself. They also sell various pre cut fruits and produce at the storefront. My boyfriend got the soursop smoothie and I got the sugarcane juice. The sugarcane was so authentic and cooled me down on such a warm humid day, I loved it! The soursop definitely did a number on my boyfriend's digestive system. Good amount of fiber in his drink, for sure! You can tell from the smoothie texture that the fruit is ripe and good quality. read more

Chau's Fresh Fruit is located in the heart of Chinatown on Hotel Street. You can't miss this place as it is popular for their fresh fruit smoothies. You'll see a small crowd gathered around the stall in no orderly fashion. You can also get your exotic fruit fix, depending on the season; currently dragon eyes and mango to name a couple. When I'm not getting my coffee, this is where I come to get fresh smoothies. On this visit, I got the mango smoothie with boba. It was very good, but tasted a little water down probably from the many scoops of ice. Service is typical of the area. read more

Very lovely family run fruit stand (they also speak Vietnamese)! The fruits truly are so fresh, juicy, delicious, and very reasonably priced! I appreciated how my dad and I were able to pick out the fruits we wanted and they cut the fruits for us too. They were also so quick with making us smoothies that tasted fantastic! read more

TBH, I am not even sure if this is where I got my rambutans, lychees, longans and mangosteens but it was amongst a row of fruit vendors/shops. Anyhow, I love fresh sugarcane juice and smoothies so I'll have to visit this shop again. read more

I came into Chinatown for chaus fresh fruit, as I wanted to try lychee for the first time since I was in Hawaii and they have tropical fruits. It started off great when they had a ton of nice people handing you free samples and showing you how to eat it, the two ladies there were very nice but they didn't speak English too well, however they showed us how to eat the fruits and how to peel them. However, it was kind of sketchy and there was rotting fruit in the stall next to us along with black soursops with flies on them. The lychee we bought were ext to them. I got a strawberry boba a sugarcane juice a bag of lychees and I tried a sapodilla that they gave us for free. It was like 17 dollars for a bag of lychee so moderately priced but about 12 hours later I got food poisoning and felt extremely nauseous. Do NOT get the sugarcane juice as gay is most likely how I got food poisoning. Not fun, go somewhere else. Very sketchy and homeless people roaming the street read more

This stall is always so busy but I happened to go recently when there was no line. I got the pineapple smoothie with boba. I thought the price ($7 as of January 2025) was reasonable for the amount you get which is a lot. The pineapple flavor was on the light side but still enjoyable. It could also be due to it being winter so the fruit is not in season. For the same price as what other places charge for artificially flavored teas, I think it is a good deal to get real fruit in the smoothie. read more

Small place with lots of fresh fruit in the middle of China town. They only have one size of drinks. Love that they use all fresh fruit in their smoothies! Got a mango passion fruit smoothie with boba. The cost is $7 plus $1 extra for boba which is on par with other boba places. It was great! The ladies who work there only speak a limited amount of English but it's enough to order. read more

Fresh fruit smoothie in Chinatown, Honolulu, Hawaii... We've walked past this vendor so many times because it's at a busy entrance to Maunakea Marketplace on Hotel Street. Chau's Fresh Fruit isn't the most glamorous, friendly, nor Instagramable vendor. They're just doing their job at an open-air stall. At least there's a roof! My first attempt at getting a durian smoothie left me frazzled because I didn't tell the worker at the start that I don't want dairy in my smoothie. I paid the $8 cash and gave it to my friend. The worker didn't offer to remake it and she didn't offer to make a new smoothie. I also got a pound of boiled peanuts - they weren't as salty as the ones at Foodland. They weren't wet nor mushy, but needed some flavor. Boiled peanuts were just okay. A couple of weeks later, I returned and knew to ask upfront for a smoothie without milk. The worker repeated my request and said she will just use water and sugar. Correct. It wasn't as creamy as other places that use a milk alternative, but it wasn't bad. Maybe there are less calories and more fruit! Haha! I wouldn't mind returning and getting another durian smoothie... And maybe even a soursop smoothie! read more

This isn't my favorite place to go to for fresh fruit smoothies and sugar cane juice, but it's ok. The location is convenient and they also sell a variety of exotic tropical fruits like star apple and mangosteen. It's just a stall on the side of the road, but it's conveniently located on the makai entrance to the maunakea marketplace outdoor area, The service is kinda slow and they aren't that friendly. But they offer boba in the drinks and will accommodate special requests if you have them. I like that they offer flavors like durian and soursop, but I usually just go for the sugarcane juice. At $8 a cup, it's a little on the pricey side. The cups aren't as big as other places and it tasted a little watered down, maybe from all the ice. They also give paper straws which I'm not a fan of. If you're in the area, you can find other places exactly like Chau's that offer a little better quality I think. But you kinda have to find them in random places. I think a lot of people go here because of the location. read more

Be CAUTIOUS !!!! with this business. They list small mangoes at $9 per pound. When I tried to buy three, they charged me $17. I asked them to reweigh the mangoes because the price seemed high--all three weighed exactly 1 pound, which should have been $9, not $17. I repeatedly asked for a refund, but they pretended not to understand English. Only when I began taking pictures did the silent owner step in and finally give me a cash refund. read more

Literally on the streets of China town! Parking can be a mess and the line was actually pretty long when I got here but the lady was quick & friendly. I busted a mission for some Logan and Rambutan fruit and she had both! Both fruits were out of season so they were pretty hard to find and pricey. She was the only one I saw during my trip with Rambutan and she explained to me that it's out of season so it's very difficult to harvest the fruit right now - basically explained to me why the fruit was $12.99/bag. Lol She was really nice when I changed my mind due and continued to help. read more

Visited on a Sunday morning and it was busy but service was quick and efficient. My mom got some fruits and I got the calamansi sugarcane. It was so refreshing and better than the other stands. We usually get sugar cane juice here & pick up some fresh small mangos... they were $8 per lb, so we got $9 worth which was about 3 mangos! They are sooooo sweet tho, they are very delicious. We always come back for these mangos, expensive but worth it. Be careful when in Chinatown, lots of homeless walking around the street but there also a lot of police around and parked on the street as well. A little sketchy, but there are also some good restaurants in the area like lucky belly so it's worth checking out at least once, grabbing some fresh fruit then leaving. read more

We were looking for fresh sugar cane juice in Chinatown and reviews led me here. We love the sugar cane juice vendors around Oahu and never been disappointed. However, this was the first disappointing sugar cane experience we didn't even finish our $8 cup. The sugar cane juice here does not taste fresh - it even tasted artificial. I think I even saw them blend something? Why? It was very odd. I saw them add sweetener to their avocado smoothies. So I was wondering whether they had our sweetener in the sugar cane juice to throw the taste so off. There was also major language barrier so it was hard for me to ask what was in the juice. We also purchased several fruits, while the price is competitive, I did not think it was the freshest compared to some of the other vendors. The rambutan, lychee, longan, and wax apple were all just OK. The prepackaged bags we picked had several pieces that had gone bad. The pro is that they do accept credit cards. read more

An asian lady shoo'ed us away when we tried to order from here. Multiple times. We had been waiting a few minutes and saw multiple other customers come, buy something, and leave. The lady did not give us the time of day. Seems either racist or unable to serve Americans or Indian looking people? My guess is racist. Wouldn't recommend going here. Chinatown is already disgusting and this place is the same, inside and out. 0 out of 5 stars. read more

So this is a small little stand. The fruits are ok but her price is expensive!! I bought some mango sand durian and spent over $125 bucks.

In our adventure to find fresh rare fruit, we searched hi and lo for a farmer's market near Waikiki during our trip to Oahu. While weren't able to find any that were operating near us my Son did find Chau's on Yelp and that lead us to the gold mine open market in Chinatown where we were able to score mangosteen, soursop, jackfruit, mangos, and other great fruits and veggies. While at Chau's my son got a durian smoothie (yes I know but he loves it) and I was able to get a freshly squeezed cane juice with a hint of lemon...very refreshing! read more
