Shopping in Honolulu, Hawaii... Ala Moana Center, the largest outdoor shopping mall in the world, has Longs Drugs Store (CVS on the mainland)... yay! This is where locals go for weekly deals, prescriptions, snacks, etc. I had a $2 reward that was going to expire. I wanted to use it before I lost it or forgot about it again. I also had a gift card... yippee! Service was friendly and helpful! A nice lady asked me if I needed help... thank you! I had to walk quickly past the cute plushies, personal care merchandise, clearance items, postcards, and stationary (my weakness). I didn't even go into the kitchen gadget or First Aid departments. I was just happy with the free parking and great deals!

I patronize this location because there's a lot of covered parking available here. I always wonder if the prices are higher due to its location in the Ala Moana Center. Just in case, I usually only pick up sale items here. This store has a large selection of Hawaiian goods due to many visitors coming through Ala Moana Center. Service here is always efficient and fast due to the volume of customers. I noticed tonight that the freezer doesn't seem to be working well as there is frost on the ice cream. That's not a good sign. I found these adorable Micke and Minny Ty sparkle dolls!

The days that we filled the cart every week... Has long evolved as this infamous location has shrunk to half its size and now there's no shopping cart station as it's more like a need to shop location for various items that's needed more than for it's on sale. One of the down side to this location that is if you shop after a certainly late hours you can't access the store from the mall location as that door and registers are closed and that you need to walk around to the parking entrance which is strangely understandable but seems to deplete the purpose of having a store in the mall...*shrug* Well being that is the reason I rarely visit this location as parking can be a challenge but since I still have prescriptions here I'm tied to this location for that but will move on to another location once that's possible as the rudeness here is too frequent for me, the convenience here has changed but once again but am grateful for that option as my last resort. Thank you

CVS STAR SERVICE FOR 5 STAR CUSTOMERS

Longs Drugs CVS hands down has the most efficient and 5 Star customer service on the island and the world. Dean has outstanding customer service and he makes you feel important! Caroline of course is the best of the best! Don't shop around for a pharmacy...the BEST is CVS Longs hands down! Mahalo to their team, as super busy as they are every minute...their smiles and quick service exceeds my expectations. AND...anyone who writes less than a 5 Star rating really must be the problem, it usually is the customer. Thank you CVS Team I and many islanders appreciate great service! Tim

Since I was in Hawaii for vacation, one of my aunts wanted me to get her Kona coffee glazed macadamia nuts. I checked out at least ten ABC stores but couldn't find the product that she wanted. The closest product I could find were these Kona coffee milk chocolate macadamia nuts. I ended up purchasing these here because they were $4 cheaper (per bag) than all the other stores I've been to. Checking out was a breeze. There were self checkout at one end of the store and cashiers at the other end of the store. Since I'm familiar with how self checkout works and the line was much shorter, I decided to pay through self checkout. To prevent thief, a store employee sat nearby the checkout stations to make sure that all items were scanned by the customer and to answer questions.

This review and rating is for the STORE area of Longs Drugs Store # 9206 ONLY. BACKGROUND: This business page was originally created back in 2007, not by me, as I started Yelping in October 2013. I found the page under Longs Drugs and have been checking into this page whenever we've shopped or browsed in the store. However, I think the confusion occurred when CVS Health acquired the Longs stores and began converting the stores to the CVS brand, ALL EXCEPT for Hawai'i and some stores in Northern California, who still RETAINS the Long Drugs name. This business page's address is 1450 Ala Moana Blvd, Ste 2004 which is located in Ala Moana Center, Ewa Wing, Mall Level where it's been since 1959! Throughout the years, this business page was listed as Longs Drugs until recently when all of a sudden, someone NOT ONLY changed the business page's name but also its map location, hours of operation and contact phone number to the PHARMACY in Target Department Store. There is already a separate business page for the CVS Pharmacy at Target at Ste 2401, which I created in on December 30, 2020. Target opened in 2017 but CVS Pharmacy didn't open in there until 2020. I'm just trying to correct the business page and undo the confusion. This page belongs to LONGS DRUGS Store # 9206 at Ala Moana Center!

I only stopped by to see what souvenirs they had in stock compared to other stores in the area. After browsing through the aisles and finding nothing that I liked I ended up leaving. Despite my no purchase shopping spree the store is well stocked with all the other products you would expect to find at a pharmacy business.

    Check boxes quickly for shortages.

Pluses: the staff were very helpful and friendly. Checkout was a breeze. Minus: after our flight home, we realized one of the Hawaiian Host Island Trio boxes was short six pieces. Very disappointing.

Ala. Moana...do they do photos for passports?

Yes, I believe that they do. At least, that's what is offered on their CVS app, and I have seen their in-store photo area for passport ID.

I would just drive to the Ala Moana location because it's not too far, plus it's a good excuse to stop by Mari's Urban Garden haha. Free parking in the structure (ask the pharmacist to validate for you) and the service is always friendly, quick, and helpful. They use RxLocal, which is an online portal and mobile app that you can use to check pharmacy hours, message with the pharmacy, refill your prescriptions, and set medication reminders. I was glad to find 5 Minute Pharmacy and have been very satisfied with their service, especially as someone that takes various controlled medications and has a generally more complicated process with refills and prior authorizations.

My child is medically fragile and relies on enteral formula, syringes, extension sets, and a G-tube device for daily survival. These are not items that can be purchased at a store, and timely, predictable delivery is medically necessary. On multiple occasions, scheduled deliveries were either missed or significantly delayed without any communication from the company. In the most recent incident, a delivery requiring a signature was scheduled within an 8 a.m.-5 p.m. window. A caregiver stayed home all day, yet no delivery occurred and no call was made to notify us of the delay. The delivery ultimately arrived close to 11 p.m., which created safety concerns for both the driver and our household and disrupted a medically fragile child who is seizure-prone. While we were relieved that the supplies were eventually delivered, the lack of communication, follow-up, and explanation was concerning. When deliveries involve life-sustaining nutrition or medical devices, "eventually delivered" is not sufficient. Late-night deliveries, missed windows, and absent courtesy calls pose real risks--especially for families caring for children with special needs, elderly patients, or individuals dependent on oxygen or other medical equipment. Over the years, there have also been recurring issues with inaccurate patient information, lack of follow-up on backordered items despite promised callbacks, and inconsistent communication from both office staff and delivery services. I want to be clear that my intent in sharing this is not to single out individual employees, but to highlight systemic issues that I hope leadership will address. Improved communication, accurate patient records, proactive notifications about delays or backorders, and clear delivery time boundaries would significantly improve safety and trust for patients and caregivers. I am sharing this so other families and caregivers are aware, and in hopes that PharmaCare will continue working toward the level of reliability that medically dependent patients truly need and deserve.

Every time I walk inside, there's a strong, unpleasant odor that smells like sewage or fecal matter. It's consistent enough that it doesn't feel like a one-off issue--it's something you notice immediately when you enter the store. At times it seems stronger in certain areas, which makes me wonder if it's coming from plumbing, floor drains, or possibly even outside air getting pulled in. What's frustrating is that this location used to feel like one of the better-run stores on the island. Now, the overall impression is very different. Even if the shelves are stocked and the staff is doing their job, the environment itself really affects the experience of shopping there. What stands out is the comparison with nearby stores like Safeway, which don't seem to have the same issue, even though they serve the same general area. That contrast makes the problem at this location even more noticeable. I hope management takes a serious look at it, because this doesn't feel like a minor cleanliness issue--it feels like an infrastructure or maintenance problem that's been left unresolved for too long. It's a shame, because the store has a lot of potential and used to be a go-to spot.
