The pharmacy is open 24 hours along with the store itself except for their lunch break from 1:30pm - 2:00pm! Parking lot can be crowded depending on time of day but I've never been able to not find a stall. The pharmacy staff are always surprisingly pleasant, regardless of how busy it is or what time of day. I never have to wait very long (if at all) for my prescription pick ups or vaccinations. If a specific medication can't be filled at their location, they give me recommendations for other pharmacies to try to contact that likely are able to fill it, which I really appreciate. It's a refreshing experience, as I've had extremely frustrating experiences with other pharmacies being not only sorely understaffed but with poor attitudes too. I just wish that the prescription status updates on the CVS app were more accurate. This store alone can't fix that issue but it is quite difficult to get in contact with the pharmacy over the phone if I need to clarify what the hold up with my prescription refills is/what information is missing. There is an option to request a call back from the pharmacy but that has been hit or miss. read more

These merchandise items were fresh and always had a good sale to look forward to on your visit. Now, it sucks @$$!! The only reason why I gave a 2nd star is because of the drive-thru pharmacy. Don't tell the others that this is one of my favorite Longs...and yup this is the former Star Market location and one of the reason, parking lots of parking and with countless entrance from either South King or South Beretania Street though as i do adore this location i guess the comfort of coming here and picking up my essentials was a quick and easy process though I've never documented the love i have for our neighborhood Longs. Along with the drive thru pharmacy that i do see many take full advantage of they do have Bank of Hawaii right along side them and i always find whatever i need here and the staff are very efficient and friendly as I needed to return an item and did so within seconds. I had issues with gift cards that was purchased at this store. When I went there explained my problem, the guy who seemed to be in charge said "manager isn't here" he said they cannot do anything at the store level and there is a number to call for gift cards issues. I explained I called several times and it says the PIN number isn't valid. So I'm here to ask next steps. He said ok I'll take your number and have the manager call you! I like this Longs. I remember when it was Star Market, so I kind of forget that Longs is here sometimes. But it's pretty conveniently located. I didn't realize that some CVS/Longs stores sell different things. I was looking for cat food at the Ala Moana location and they don't have pet food! Maybe because it is a smaller store and they cater more to tourists, but I wound up coming to this Moiliili location to get my cat food instead. The parking lot is a little hard to navigate sometimes when it is crowded, but I like that they often have plants outside and that the store is relatively large. The workers are a little unhelpful here. They kind of made me feel like it was an inconvenience to help me check out even though their register light was on. This review is only for their Pharmacy Department. Having worked in a medical center for years, I became aware of the proper disposal of pharmaceutical waste. Some companies provide safe, easy, and affordable pharmaceutical waste disposal solutions. The correct and lawful turn-in of pharmaceutical waste is crucial to preventing drug misuse and is safer for the environment. Fortunately, at my age, I don't need or take more than two prescription medications for chronic issues; however, I joke about my husband's medicine cabinet that looks like he could start his pharmacy. His cadre of physicians has changed his medications several times over the year to address some of his medical conditions, so every so often, we go through his medications that he no longer takes and to properly get rid of them. Besides, we know that once a pharmacy dispenses the drug and leaves that pharmacy's custody, the pharmacy cannot accept any returns even if the packaging is intact and the product is unused. Proper and safe disposal is the key to keeping others and the environment from being misused, especially unused narcotics. We visited our usual CVS Longs Drugs Pharmacy - Ala Moana and inquired if they had a medication disposal bin available to the public. The pharmacy technician advised us that pharmaceutical disposal bins are located at this store and their Kamehameha Shopping Center locations. So we made a beeline to this location as it is more convenient to do so to dispose of the medications. For privacy, when you take your unused prescription medications in, you should use a black marker to cover your name on the label, or you can combine the drugs in an unmarked prescription bottle. Last week, when we came into this CVS Longs, we quickly located the Pharmacy Department and were about to ask the technician for the location of their disposal bin when I spied it in a corner next to a chair. She noticed me heading for the waste box but stopped me because the box was locked and full and they were waiting for the pharmaceutical returns company to empty it. Tsk. I slipped the bottles back into my purse and decided to return on another day. Luckily, on this second visit, I had a few moments to examine the box for its security (yup, its padlocked drop box with one-way drop access) and told my husband to just drop his unmarked bottles in. Easy-peasy and FREE pharmaceutical disposal can be found at select CVS Longs Drugs. So, if you have excess and or expired medications lying around your home, Id recommend that you do you, your family, others, and the environment the correct disposal way instead of just dumping your medications into the trash or water systems. read more

This five-star review is for my experience yesterday at the pharmacy. I was assisted by Winnie, who was very very very helpful and kind! I came to pick up my prescription, which my doctor faxed over in the morning. It was my first time taking this medication, and it cost a lot more than I had expected but I was sort of prepared to pay for it (I mean, what am I gonna do, right?) Winnie asked if I had any coupon to offset the price. I gave her a blank stare coz I had no idea what she meant! She suggested I look up the manufacturer's coupon website, which I couldn't find. Then she offered to look it up for me, but which will take some time. I thought ok why not. She literally created an account for me then and there! I felt bad standing at the counter while the other staff member served the line of customers which had formed in the time I was waiting. Anyway the whole process took maybe 20 minutes (I didn't keep track but by then the bank had closed). And my total copay was zero for three months' worth of medication. She helped me save at least $100!! Winnie at the pharmacy is a rock star!! (The other staff too as I observed, they're all friendly and polite!) In fact the few times I shopped at this Longs, the staff I encountered have been helpful and friendly. I once asked someone about disposable gloves and he went in search of them even though it wasn't his area. He even called the Manoa Longs to check on their inventory too. Parking is plentiful. The shelves are well-stocked. And there's a BOH attached to the store as well. Oh and there's a drive-thru pharmacy too. read more

Shopping in Moiliili, Honolulu, Hawaii... This past Memorial Day weekend, I had a bunch of errands to do in town (Honolulu). Between appointments, I wanted to use my 30 percent off coupon which Longs (CVS Pharmacy) emailed to me. There's an option for members of the loyalty program to add coupon (with just a tap on a button) onto the card (with the barcode) for more efficiency and convenience... genius! I also was looking for posterboards to make signs for our friends, Russ and Jessica, as they are about to leave Hawaii and start a new chapter in their lives in Las Vegas. I wanted my Yelp Hawaii friends to show the happy couple some words of encouragement and well wishes... Longs helped us accomplish our goal by providing friendly employees, clean/safe/spacious environment, free parking, cool air conditioning, and reasonable prices. This particular location used to be Star Supermarket. It's 24/7 and is relatively near to the University of Hawaii. I easily found the colorful posterboards in the stationary/school & office supplies section. Also available for milestones such as retirement and graduation are leis made of candy and local snacks, greeting cards, adult beverages, etc. Popular items at this time of Pandemic are face masks and disposable wipes. There's a list at the entrance as to which items are soldnout. The weekly newspaper advertisement was posted on the wall for everyone's perusal. Longs is just a local favorite store. It's consistently reliable, so it's usually my first choice when I make any purchase. "Saying goodbye is never an easy thing..." (from Love Will Lead You Back by Taylor Dayne) However, with Longs by your side, it really helps out... If I had to rank all the Longs Drugs I've been to all around Oahu, I have to put this one at or near the top of the list. Whenever there's a sale, especially extremely popular items, this Longs will almost always have it in stock while other Longs will run out the first day of the sale and never restock. That goes with other popular items as well. I always do a quick search on the CVS website and almost always, this Longs is always listed as having it "In Stock." This Longs is very convenient to get to as you can easily drive in and out of the parking lot in both East and west direction along Beretania and South King St. There's a decent amount of parking stalls, but it does fill up when it's busy with shoppers and others who park here to go to Cafe Maharani. The inside is bright and spacious and definitely feels like they have way more things than other Longs. It is very well staffed with multiple cashiers open, and you'll almost always run into a staff member who will ask if you need help. All of them are friendly, helpful, and courteous. Overall, I like that this Longs will always have what you need and what's on sale in stock. I feel this Longs is a lot more on it in customer service and keeping their store well stocked, while all the other Longs are slow and incompetent. This Longs also has a drive thru Pharmacy and it is open 24/7! Can't beat that! read more

I love coming to this location. They always have the sale items on hand, but if they run out you can do a rain check (rain check never expires). This morning as soon as I walk in the store, one of the staff greeted me with a good morning and a beautiful smile. This just brightened my day. I like coming to this location. I know where most of the items are located and items are usually stocked. The pharmacy is open 24 hours and they have a drive thru. My review is solely for the pharmacy and it's staff. I was already upset about Queens Pharmacy giving me the run arounds for my brother-in-law's prescription so I was not the friendliest person; there was also really huge lines for drop off and pickup. I ended up standing in the consultation line to ask if my brother-in-law's prescription was finally called in but wasn't being helped due to them being so busy. I decided to move to the "drop off" line and was helped within minutes. The lady was super nice and apologetic about me having to wait so long. I explained the situation to her and asked if she would be able to check if my brother-in-law's prescription was finally called in; she remembered helping him earlier and said that Queens just called it in. Customer service. Lady at the self check out was rude. All i asked about a medication to be pulled out of the case waited for about 10 minutes. This store is overpriced and i just asked a couple if they have a phone number rewards and the lady worker looked at me with a side eye and continued to proceed with the transaction. The Allegra medication is $20 at Safeway but since longs drugs was closer, i insisted of coming here. $35 for the medication here and it was $19 for the rewards. The worker continued to touch my self check out screen without saying nothing. I mean we love a good rewards. But overall the lady just keep side eyeing me not feeling welcomed. This Longs Drugs is in a good location and I usually make a stop here on Sundays before I get on the H1 to go home. Their produce and dairy section is better than the Longs Drugs on Waialae Ave and 4th Ave. In the fridge, you'll find deli meats and cheeses, fruits, veggies, eggs, milk, and ice cream. I feel like they get more inventory here since this is a big location. There is also a Bank of Hawaii attached to this location. If the branch is not open, the ATM is available and that's right next to the entrance. Today, I was really impressed with the service I received. I had clipped some coupons from the extra-long receipts and when I went to pay, some of the coupons didn't work. The system didn't allow receipts to be stacked and it would "void." The cashier, Victoria, suggested ringing up the items separately to make sure I would get all my discounts. She regrouped my items based on the coupons I had and did 3 separate transactions. It took a few minutes more but I saved money and its great. Thank you Victoria! This service was above and beyond and I will come back and shop here more often. read more

I have to be honest, I'm Buddhist but in this age of COVID-19, I think that everyone should be helping each other. I'm not really the kind of guy that usually ask for divine Christian intervention but let's face it. The Buddha clearly states in his Four Noble Truths that .....'Man is born to suffer; there is no avoiding suffering!' Therefore, I'm expecting no help from the Buddha. I'm not asking for protection against COVID-19 and accept my fate as a believer in Buddhism by living life in accordance with the Eight Fold Path, and federal, state and county COVID-19 guidelines. What my prayer today is in regards to is toilet paper, N-95 mask and hand wipes. Every time I go to the Moiliili Longs looking specifically for toilet paper, N-95 mask and hand wipes, they are all gone. This is very frustrating. After visiting this Longs, I head for the Longs across from McKinley High School. Same thing there. The shelves are empty. Then I head for the Pali Longs and no luck there too. Last stop is the Longs that was the old K-Mart on Nimitz Highway and zippo, all the shelves are empty. Father, of course, I know you have to help Christians first but please be compassionate and at least answer some of us Buddhist prayers. We feel hopeful, if we can be put on your list. So I'm starting out my shopping journey today with the Lord's Prayer and ask you to 'let there be toilet paper; let there be N-95 mask and let there be hand wipes.' Li hing mango, my prescription medicine for my ADHD, tofu, and small presents for the holidays and birthdays were amongst my common purchases at the South King Street Longs Drugs when I lived in Honolulu (2012-2015). Yes, I enjoy eating raw tofu, especially with Tapatío hot sauce. That combination developed from the tofu I would buy regularly here. Pharmacy waits were typically not too long and the store was big which made searching for some creative project supplies or a next present for someone the perfect activity while waiting for the prescription to be filled. Cashiers were friendly and kind in their interactions which I found impressive with the range of us weirdos that would come shopping here. I frequently packed up the items I bought in a backpack or drawstring bag after purchasing them and thank the workers for never giving me a hard time about that. So i wandered in the store and Reina immediately asked if i needed help? She was so friendly and helpful. She escorted me to the exact aisle my item was in. She seemed to be famliar with this item and luckily it was the last one! Then i started to browse around and then Jeremy, manager, asked me if I needed help? What a friendly store! Located across from Aina Haina Shopping Center, this Longs location is somewhat new. I think it was built something like 3 or 4 years ago? It's well kept and the staff are nice enough. Being the neighborhood drug store, it has all of the essentials. I came to fill a prescription and ended up grabbing some sunscreen and a Gatorade at the same time. They also have covid testing here, but I don't know what the process or cost is for that. Every time I come here there's lots of parking. There's nothing that "wows" you, but it's Longs and it gets the job done. read more
