As my car is not feeling the greatest I needed a location that was closest to the Queens Island Urgent Care in Kaka'ako to pick up a prescription and since this was right down the street I keep the stress level down for myself as well. Located prominently on Ward Ave parking entrance is on Halekauwila Street which is free and with lots of covered stalls available that has an elevator that will take you down and directly into the store. With this being the newly opened location it's very nice and clean and not as crazy crowded like the malls is nice and with basically no lines it was an easy pick up and the staff is very nice and friendly as I arrived basically right after my check up knowing it wouldn't be ready that fast was actually being worked on which is so nice as having them will give me great comfort and that's I'm so grateful. I love this Longs at Ward. It's one of their newer locations and it's huge. They carry items that other Long's don't. Parking is easy. You go up the ramp, park on the second floor and take the elevator down. Once you step of the elevator you're already in the store. I saw a lot of Hello Kitty items this time around. They also carry my face mask that I didn't see at any other Long's. Their cosmetics and body care line is huge at this store. If you're into that you'll love this place. They have a photo department that does passport photos also. I came by and picked up a Pokemon card and Haagen-Dazs ice cream for someone. read more

My husband and I stopped in to pick up some things for our daughter to keep her cooled down and entertained while she stayed with her grandma and friends in a condo nearby us. Did you know CVS is also called Longs Drugs? Well I didn't, so I was lucky to find this location lol! I purchased $193.38 worth of liquor at the Longs in Honolulu on October 7. I did not receive the discount and was overcharged for two bottles of wine that was marked with a sale price. The Jadot wine price on the shelf was $8.99 but I was charged $10.99 per bottle. The Rum was priced on the shelf at $27.99 but I was charged $30.99. I questioned this at the time of purchase. Alvin at the register assured me the discount would be applied on the total. I checked the receipt when i got home, the sale price was not applied. I also did not receive the full 10% discount. By my calculation I was overcharged US$12.00. I am surprised and displeased at the failure of the CVS Pharmacy on 988 Halekauwila St in Honolulu, HI. to contact me as promised by their corporate "customer care" personnel to resolve the problem. I sent twelve (12) email messages and called the CVS "help" line five (5) times spending over two hours on hold or in queue before I was able to talk to a supervisor who issued me a credit. Had a appointment set this morning at 8:45am. Minute clinic located on Ward Ave across the street from Ohana Hale. First of all got there a little early no problem they took me in and explained what to except and the process. I swabbed my two nostril with the Q-tip and the representative advised me that someone will call within 2-3 hours. Actually someone called me back within 30 mins that was very quick and efficient. I tested negative yippee, but I gave this location a 5 star rating because everyone was helpful and knowledgeable. First time at this location since I had to pick up a few essentials. I parked and walked across the street from Ohana Market place to check to see if they have the items in stock. I did not know at first they have their own parking but since I was already in the area, I might as well walk lol. It's smaller than what I expected however, there was less foot traffic and it's not as crowded compared to other CVS/Longs locations. The layout is a little confusing at first that I got lost (and distracted). I could not find the pharmacy section which is located at back far left corner of the store. Even though the store is clean and somewhat spacious, they tend to be a out of stock on some medications which is understandable at this time. It's a very convenient grab and go store that you could do self check outs. There are employees around that area if you need any assistance checking out items or have any questions. read more

This is my go-to CVS store because it's located near me on Ward. I love this place because it's relatively new, and they offer great sales from time to time. Additionally, you can get discounts on your CVS card, points, etc. One thing to keep in mind though, is that the pharmacy takes a break from 1:30-2 PM. (Living w/Covid Series) Longs on Ward Ave is one of their newer locations. I was in the neighborhood leaving my friendly local dive shop and found out that this Longs had disinfectant wipes in stock. The Ward location's layout reminds me of the old location on South King St, across from Old Stadium park, where Ross's is now. Enter the second floor parking from Halekauwila St. There is an elevator that leads directly to the store. To cope with these Covid times, masks and social distancing is required. Found the wipes (mahalo Yeep Lisa M!), paid for them, and got out quickly. No muss, no fuss. Just because of its distance from my place, I probably won't patronize this location heavily, but it's a good resource if I need something when I'm in the neighborhood! Recommend! read more

Shopping in Kaka'ako, Honolulu, Hawaii... I was at Ohana Hale Marketplace when I saw Longs Drugs Store across the street. Longs (aka CVS) is a standard Hawaii institution. Many people faithfully look at the Sunday ad and do their shopping based on the great weekly sales. When I saw this new Kaka'ako location (on the Ground Level of a condominium), I wanted to check it out. I heard that it has its own parking garage (since the parking in this area is limited) - and... yes! Enter the covered parking garage from Halekauwila Street! Nice! This Longs seems a bit smaller than others. However, I still found the item I wanted and used the self-checkout easily. Service was really friendly! As I browsed around, a cheerful worker approached me and asked if I needed help. Wow! She's so productive while dusting the shelves! Now I feel comfortable shopping at this store. Did you know that the first Longs Drugs opened in Hawai'i in 1954 which was BEFORE Hawai'i achieved Statehood (1959)? Yep, that would mean this drugstore chain has been operating in our Hawaiian islands for over six decades and has most certainly touched the lives of most locals. Their slogan or jingle "Make Longs a Part of Your Day" rings true as one would be hard pressed to find anyone in Hawai'i who has never been into a Longs Drugs. This new Longs Drugs opened in November 2019 and we finally managed to get our first peek the other day. It's located on the street level of Ward Village's Ke Kilohana condominium on Ward Avenue. The residents of this condominium must find this Longs Drugs to be convenient since they can just come downstairs to shop. For visitors, this Longs Drugs has its own parking garage with designated access. We liked the private elevator access from the parking garage into the store which is really convenient to use especially if it's raining or late night.. This store is clean and well-stocked with all the same items that you'd find at other Longs Drugs. Of course, they have their own CVS Pharmacy which we'd consider transferring our prescriptions to as this location is so much closer to our home. There was hardly anyone in this store which made our shopping experience a breeze. This store seems to be set up for fast, easy and convenient shopping. There were several large refrigerators and freezers with various beverages and pre-packaged foods. We didn't use the self service check out since the cashier waved at us to help us. As we were paying for our purchase, I noticed an area where you can conveniently print Passport photos from your phone. We did interact with one of the staff who assisted us with doing a price check on a couple of items. He was friendly and seemed genuinely willing to help. At this new location, we see friendly and helpful service, good inventory levels and value. We'll be back and look forward to transferring our prescriptions to this location. read more

I've been waiting for this Longs Drugs to open for awhile now! Unfortunately it was a disappointing experience due to poor customer service. The new Longs in Kakaako on Ward Ave. has so many things going for it. It is centrally located and surrounded by tons of high rises. The large space has lots of room and holds a large variety of items to suit a wide variety of needs (snacks, grocery, sundries, etc). The location is clean, bright, and well organized. And, they have a free parking lot. Unfortunately, when my husband asked an employee at the customer service counter about a specific type of battery, he was told, "I don't know. Do you want me to look it up because I am busy? Maybe if I have time later." With so many Longs Drugs locations, it's a shame that this location has poor customer service. While this Longs is much closer and more convenient, we'll go to the Beretania Longs instead because the employees there are so helpful and go the extra mile! Nice surprise to see that what I needed was on sale. As you get off the parking elevator, the reef safe sunscreen is close to the door. BIG mahalo for carrying this item to help protect our surrounding corals. Before you purchase the other sunscreen options, educate yourself about the ban that will go into effect. With Chinese New Year just around the corner, it was also a pleasant surprise to see local greeting cards to reflect the occasion. Perfect timing as I was going to mail other Hawai'i treats to my friends on the mainland. Special shout out to Handy! He helped me find the essential oils and diffusers. It's all about the little things in life that make the difference. Love seriously love this Longs Drugs. Even though it would probably be classified as a smaller Longs, there are a bunch of little things that cause this Longs to stand out amongst the many others. - Love that the parking for this location is plentiful with large parking spaces, cool and covered. - Love that the aisles in this Longs are wide and easy to navigate. - Even love that the music in this Longs is upbeat and pleasant and not the usual Hawaiian or elevator music found in other locations. Making me feel light footed and happy hearted, I actually started humming along with the music. Kind of making me feel like I was in the middle of a K drama love story, I almost expected the fake decorations inside the store to change to Fall colors! - Love how management for this store is receptive to their clientele and their "needs"; Like when a number of things featured for there grand opening ran out within the first hour, management decided to substitute similar items in. - And of course love the convenient location to my work and my home. I love this new Longs Drugs! It's located in a residential building directly across where Sports Authority used to be, the same footprint where California beach Rock N sushi used to be. Their street address is Halekauwila Street and that's where the parking entrance is but the storefront faces Ward Avenue. Of course anything you is typically beautiful but this Longs Drugs is well laid out with several self checkout stations as well as typical regular check out stations. There's lots of carts and best of all, lots of parking that's free of course. I went to this new Longs Drugs for their grand opening special of $1 to the Diet Cokes. By the time I arrived around 10 a.m. , they were sold out but the manager said to come back in a few days and sure enough I was able to stock up without any problem. This new Longs Drugs store just opened on Halekauwila St. and Ward Avenue so it's is nice, clean and pretty much fully stocked except for the sale item I wanted. Shucks I forgot to get a rain check. It's the best time to come and buy. They have some Christmas items out already such as candy canes, men and women beauty holiday gift sets. They have some big items like a big Hello Kitty doll, gum ball machines, water dispenser! if you're a fan, you may want them all. The store seems to many variety of brands of make ups. You can definitely find some travel items or even gifts items here. There's a Pharmacy located in back but I haven't seen a Electronic section with watches etc. I forgot to check. Every Longs Drugs may vary from store to store. Passport photos can be made here with the photo machine near the check out register. It's my first time seeing these cool self-check out machines to use but heard the machines hasn't been working properly since it hasn't been taking the phone numbers linked to the CVS extra care card! We can't have that happening so I would wait until it get fixed. This Sunday is their grand opening with specials sale items flyer received inside some of the near by residents' mid-week. I heard there will be free ear piercing on that day but perhaps need to purchase the earrings. Sunday may be busy but there's just a level of 60-minute customer parking stalls located on the 2nd floor in the building. Entrance to the parking is on Halekauwila Street up a little steep ramp. The Elevators leads right into the Longs Drugs store near the check out registers. Besides the Pharmacy workers and workers/mgr stocking the stores, I only see one worker for now and he was at the cash register. I'm sure they will have more workers after the store's grand opening Sunday November 10, 2019. Be one of their first 400 customers on the grand opening day to receive one of their eco-friendly bags. Fairly convenient Longs Drugs store located below the Ke Kilohana condo at Ward Village. This building is on the ewa side of Ward which has yet to be build out substantially so it's not a crowded store. Free parking is located up the ramp located on Halekauwila. This is a newer store and is clean. My issue is lack of selection. They have a pitiful stationary section and I had to go to Fisher Hawaii located near by. Like many Longs stores they can't keep the generic CVS over the counter medications in stock. They are always sold out of many of them. This is the worst Longs Pharmacy and worst pharmacy for that matter that I've ever been to. They said they can't fulfill a legitimate prescription from a legitimate Dr just because it's not in their "local" area whatever the hell that means. That makes absolutely 0 sense. So if I was traveling here they wouldn't fulfill my needed medical prescription because my Dr is outside of their comfort zone. That's absolutely dumb AF. If the Dr is legitimate it doesn't matter where I ask to get the prescription fulfilled. This stores policy is held back in the 1st grade dumb. read more

This location is listed on Halekauila Street, but the store is directly across the for Spirts Authority (now Ohana Hale). The store has 4 or 5 self checkout stations and only provides a cashier if needed. The store s adequately stocked and less busy than most Longs Drugs Stores on a Sunday morning. It is one of the few CVS Longs with its own covered parking. If you are coming here for a COVID test there are about 5 or 6 stalls dedicated to testing. read more

Wow, what a nice Longs Drugs! Brand-spanking new! This was my first time coming in to this Longs. I was just leaving Ohana Hale Marketplace after an early dinner, and I seen the bright red Longs sign from across. I did need to go to Longs, so why not this one? I just walked across. This Longs is along Ward Ave, and they have its own parking garage entering from Halekauwila St. The inside of the store didn't look big, but it was packed with a wide variety of things that I don't usually see at other Longs. I had no idea where was the item I needed as I'm not familiar, but after roaming around, I eventually found it. All the aisles were very clean and organized, and I even seen those hard to find Wet Ones Hand wipes, but there are so many now that "kill 99.9 germs" that shouldn't they all be the same? I noticed they had a good amount of staff walking around. We were asked if we needed help as well. There's self checkout, which I always prefer. It was very easy to use and clear, even with your preloaded coupons and rewards. I don't trust cashiers to do it as they seem to do it incorrectly where I save less money. As we left, the cashiers bid us farewell. Overall, it's a nice Longs! I feel there's more variety here. The self checkout is a plus. It's well staffed and they're all friendly. It's not exactly convenient for me as I don't frequent Ward Ave that often, but I'll stop by if I'm at the Ohana Hale and I need to purchase something at Longs. read more

This is a really nice Long's. I've only visited when having my car serviced nearby"ish". I leave my car at the dealership and choose to walk around. On my walk I need snacks and drinks so this spot is perfect. I heard there's parking in the building, but never looked or needed to. Because this location is pretty new, its still really nice. The layout is easy to navigate. The store feels very spacious. The shelves look well stocked. I can't say I see many employees around the store though. I've never needed one but theres always enough registers open to check out. Let's just say it serves its purpose. read more

Very disappointed with this location's pharmacy. They kept jerking me and my doctor around with filling a prescription saying they needed a prior authorization. When my doctor obtained a PA they still refused to fill it. I'm guessing that this Longs CVS location suffers a lot of retail theft, as the level of security borders on the side of being uncomfortable. I'm definitely in support of retailers efforts to combat the problem of shoplifting. At this store, for instance, I saw a man with a backpack traipse in and grab a shopping basket before heading down the aisles only to be quickly nabbed and kicked out by store workers, wearing standard Longs uniforms. My gripe is that they go a bit too far where everyone, from a hipster to a granny, is scrutinized and surveilled to the point that the average customer has to walk in tiptoes in this store for fear of being suspect. Pharmacist did not inform me there was an over the counter version (Volteran) topical gel for muscle pain. The pharmacist said the only option for me was to buy the prescription version for $41. The Volteran version can be bought on Amazon for less than half the price. I will NOT TRUST CVS Pharmacy in the future. CVS website states that it takes 2-3 days for results, HOWEVER, their NP told me that their results take 3-4 days to come back, making it an invalid test to submit for traveling. Byy far the worst Longs in terms of selection. Went here for baby formula and ad items. Most of the ad items I wanted were sold Out and they were even out of toddler enfamil baby formula. The parking is ok here. Kinda hard to get up the tight ramp especially with a large SUV. Only one Small elevator to get up and down. This isn't a problem Now that this Longs is t busy. But I can foresee it being a large issue when this becomes a major hub with the railway is down. The parking is shaded and seems safe. This Longs and the Longs at ala Moana although lesS than 0.5miles away from each other, this one is way smaller and has way less selection. More than half the store is committed to makeup and products for hair and body. There is very few food items here and like I said, totally out of weekly ad items. By far the worst Longs in town. I want to love this Longs as it is walking distance to my place and has dedicated covered stalls on the second floor. Unfortunately, the service level is not up to par compare to most Longs. The store only have self check out available. Usually that's not an issue except the system was glitchy (requiring assistance for no reason after every beep) and the sale prices were not configured properly in the system. On the night I visited, the store had 2 staff to help a long line of customers. The service was horrible and there were a few frustrated customers. This was my favorite Long's CVS store until the big-orange-blonde-hair-over-the-top-fake-eyelashes-ugly-blue-contact-wearing-tattooed-female had a meltdown at the cash register. Quality customer service is hard to find and when employees exude and master those skills, people will return and frequent your business/store. This store isn't the closest one to me but I enjoyED shopping here until the Beast was unleashed and summoned to work the register. She had an attitude from the onset, i.e. body language and no greeting when I approached the counter. Fine. I don't care and just want to buy my items and get my discounts via my saved coupons. She asked me if I wanted to apply my coupons and I said yes. She asked me again and I said "I want to apply all of my coupons that are on my card." In a snippy tone, she said "I don't know what's on your card but I can only see what's on my computer..." Lie. The employees can see everything that customers add to their card on that monitor. So this person wanted to antagonize me because she was in a pissy mood. Me: "I told you already that I want to apply all of my coupons." Hot Mess: "thank you, Jesus..." Me: "is there a problem? I told you 3 times already and you kept asking me." Hot Mess: mumbled something under her mask then blurted a second time: "thank you, Jesus!" Me: "I don't appreciate how you are speaking to me. I would like you to call your manager so I can speak with them." Hot Mess asks me to step to the side and I do "because I have other customers to help." Haha! Really? You do mean harass and give attitude, right? She didn't even bag my items for me. I had to do it myself. So the manager comes over and I explain to him what just happened. He has a rude ass employee with a sour attitude and she said "thank you, Jesus" to me twice. Uncalled for and no person in a customer service position should ever speak like that to any paying customer. I'm explaining the encounter with the manager, Richard, then miss/ter thang comes over and interjects her 2 cents in a calm and fake ass tone. GTFOH! I said "no, not true and I told you more than once I want everything I have on my card to be used." She tried to be sly about it. "Hey don't you have customers to harass over there?" Get back. 6 feet distance right? I reiterated everything to Richard again to make sure he understood my point, that I choose to come to this location and I spend a lot of money here. I said it loud so she could hear me. I have had complex transactions before with other cashiers here at this store and the cashiers were cordial and nice about it. Nobody has been rude but this beezy. I told him that he needs to speak with her and she needs to correct her behavior. It's unacceptable and inexcusable. And I told him that if she does that again, I will complain to his manager about it. He needs to own this and address this shitty behavior. I read another post just prior to mine and the employee had to be held back...!!?? All while the manager looked on? WTF?! She should have been fired on the spot!!! He was very passive and did not apologize or give me any assurance that anything was going to be done. Just to make sure, I will call the corporate office and give them my feedback. If anyone is wondering why I didn't use her name in this rant is because she hid her name tag. But anyone who frequents this store would easily know. If she gives you attitude, don't take it. Several weeks ago, I was verbally and almost physically abused by one of the cashiers here (her co-workers had to hold her back). It was absolutely APPALLING and the manager was there to witness it all. I went back today and yes, that same cashier is still working the front. Close to my Home so it's very convenient however it's on the smaller side. Often times I come here and an item has been out of stock for a while or they just don't carry it (I.e. broom and dust pan, car cleaning products). Price point is same at the longs/cvs at other locations. You park on the second floor and catch the elevator down to the first floor where the store is located.
