Large steak plate with white rice and double potato Mac.
    Chez T.

I like this Times hot food line! The workers are quick and the portion size is perfect. Each plate comes with 3 choices. Customers can select from brown or white rice, potato mac or toss salad, steamed veggies and mash potatoes. They offer steak plates on Wednesdays which are tasty and different specials throughout the week. Their poke bowls are also very popular and I have yet to be disappointed with any of the specials.

One of my favorite places to shop. Times has everything including local stuff that is harder to find in the mainland chains. The food is great too. And the staff are very very friendly and welcoming.

Make a list and check it twice as Times has so much to offer! One thing I do love about this location is that the parking lot is large and well maintained with just steps away from the market itself so no elevators or crossing the street to access is great. I did come for something very specific and had to be in and out quick so knew that coming here is the best solution...until I browsed since I found that item so quickly that there was always something else I'm looking for and did manage to find something at a great deal omg!! Times also famously have various plate lunches daily, poke counter, even a service counter where you're able to get bus pass, HOLO card, stamps, and Western Union transaction that's a little bit of everything at daily store hours of 6am to 11pm you know it's a great pick up place. Thank you!

    Scored Japanese Vodka

Came here to get some liquor for some beer for the better half as the restaurant we were going to eat dinner is byob. When grabbing her beer, I noticed they had a vodka from Japan. If you like vodka you have to try the ones from Japan. A friend told me about the Haku brand and I had to grab it. They even had some whiskeys as well. Maybe next time I come I will grab a bottle or two. Times also has a nice selection of fruits and vegetables. We like getting plate lunches. They also have prepackaged bentos to go which makes it very convenient when you have to eat on the road. I noticed they rent Rug Dr which is a do it yourself carpet cleaning. Everyone should clean their carpets as they would be shocked to see what's in there. Lots of free parking. What's not to like about Times.

    Steak plate with 3 sides???
    Dona H.

I have gone to other Times Supermarket locations for food and always received 3 actual sides as advertised. This is the first time I got shorted a side. AND, I got 3 plates! All looked short a side! Their prices went up AND they shorted me a side times 3 plates!!! Awful!

I've been a long time fan of Times - it just has that local feel, and this particular location has been my go-to recently because it's conveniently located close to my office. Not only are prices competitive, but they have a great selection of single serving desserts in the refrigerated display cases near the cashiers. They also sell Kansai Yamato mochi, Lanakila Pacific scones, and a host of other locally made products.

Great place to do grocery shopping. Friendly service/staff. Good specials. Sign up for weekly emails, also seafood specials, and also weekend specials. Note: ads are available in store. Now, scan once for all coupon items. Great prices. Shiggys sushi bar now located in Mccully Times. Grab and go sushi, bento, etc. There are also other vendors that deliver grab and go sushi, bentos, and also fresh mochi. Poke bar offers poke bowls or by pound, lots of variety. Daily plate lunch specials. Plates include a drink. Or order a side order. Like roast beef, roast pork, guava ribs, steak, garlic shrimp, Hawaiian plate. Shopping carts and baskets are sanitized, and wiped down for you by staff. I like the produce and fresh fish. Very convenient location. Free parking. No expiration date for rain checks. Retuns with receipt, within 14 days. Also, managers are always helpful.

Don Quixote? The titular protagonist of Miguel de Cervantes' 17th-century Spanish novel, often considered the first modern novel? No, not him. Side-quest unlocked: Go to Don Quijote to looks at Trader Joe's-like bags and peruse affordable macadamia nuts. Imagine if a Japanese convenience store, Costco, Walmart, Japanese pop culture, and a late-night snack gremlin all moved into one building and decided to co-habilitate. That's Don Quijote, or as locals lovingly know it: Donki. Don Quijote is Japanese discount megastore in Honolulu where you walk in for one bottle of water and somehow leave an hour later with Japanese cheesecake, body wash, a rice cooker, novelty socks, a plush penguin, Spam musubi, an ankle brace, and at least one item that made you say, "Well, I've never seen that before." Every aisle is an adventure. It's part grocery store, part pharmacy, part souvenir shop, part beauty supply, part snack paradise, and part "why are they selling this and why do I suddenly need it?" The shelves are packed to the ceiling, the signage is loud, the deals are good, and the whole place feels like a treasure hunt designed by someone who drank three Red Bull Kyoho Grapes and said, "More products! More fun! No empty shelf space!" The Honolulu location is also gloriously open 24 hours, which means it serves a very specific and beautiful type of chaos: jet-lagged tourists like myself, night owls craving Japanese curry, and people making questionable but spiritually necessary 1:11 a.m. purchases. TL;DR, Don Quijote is less of a store and more of an experience. A slightly overwhelming and delightfully unhinged retail adventure.

In that moment, you feel seen--not just as a customer, but as a person. Timaree brings back the feeling of the good ol' days of customer service, when shopping wasn't just a transaction. It was a moment of connection. She greets us like neighbors, remembers the little details, and makes each visit feel personal. For a few minutes, time slows down. We're not just passing through the checkout line, we're being welcomed, acknowledged, and cared for. Timaree is the clerk who, 10 out of 10 times, brings the most genuine kindness and customer service I've experienced at Safeway, and honestly, anywhere. Warmly, June & Matthew

One of my fondest childhood memories is going to Tamashiro Market with my dad…read more When we lived in Kalihi, this was our usual spot. And even after we moved, we would still drive out just to come here for the seafood. That's how special it was to us. The reason why he chose Tamashiro over other grocery stores was simple--it was quality and because of my Nanay (grandma). His mom purchased from here and made so many delicious dishes. He knew what to look for, and he trusted this place. For him, it wasn't just about buying food... it was about getting the best for his family. My dad isn't the type to say "I love you." He shows it. One of the biggest ways he showed love was through his cooking. Even after a long day on his feet cooking for others, he would come home and cook for us. That was his way of taking care of us. I loved coming here with him. It was a five-senses overload--the smell of fresh seafood, the sound of people talking story, the colors of fish on display. Back then when you were allowed to sample a grape or poke to make sure it was good before buying. But more than that, it was time with him. I still remember the excitement I felt when I saw the pink building with the huge crab. I thought back then was to look at everything but now I understand that it meant something more..... something special--time with my dad. It's with a sad heart that Tamishiro Market is now closed. Thank you, Tamashiro, for providing quality food and memories for so many years. You were more than a market--you were part of my childhood

Goodbye to another Hawaii landmark! Tamashiro Market is closing its doors on April 30, 2026…read more FPO and I went the Sunday before for one last tour of the legendary fish market. It looked the same as it did the first time I went with my grandfather. I picked up a couple pounds of dry aku for my favorite sister and some tee shirts as memorabilia. It was pretty busy and I expect that will continue until They close. Still, the people were nice and very helpful. I'm really going to miss it!
