A different location left my windshield camera dirty causing my windshield wipers to constantly wipe. Their website states a chip or crack can be repaired if it's under 6 inches in length. I have a small chip and a crack that is under 6 inches long and Jimmy who does the repairs will not repair the glass and only wants to replace it. When I asked why I was only given excuses as to why it isn't repairable which makes it seem like they are only trying to get me to replace the glass to potentially make more money, when it's repairable. read more

Had the windshield on my CRV replaced by Safelite yesterday because they were my insurance company's (Farmers) preference and this location was nearest to my house. I picked the car up when the job was done about 2 hours after dropping it off, checked the new windshield out and it looked good. The next day, as I opened the back door to load some used items to take to goodwill, a loud snap was heard as a plastic piece (pic1) came flying out from under the door. That plastic piece, located by the left door hinge, had broken off when the door was raised (pic2). Pic3 is the piece located by the right door hinge, still intact. Upon inspection, I found that the moulding trim that runs from the door hinge to the windshied, on both sides of the car was poorly replaced as parts of the trim were not tucked in properly. I then took the car back to Safelite and asked them to look at it. When I showed the person behind the counter the plastic piece and told him that it broke off when I opened the trunk, he asked "did we replace the front windshield or the back?". I said the front and his immediate response was "then that's not anything that we touched". I said "but you had to remove the moulding to replace the windshield, didn't you?" He said yes but said that they would only take enough of the moulding out to replace the windshield and not touch the back part that has the plastic piece that broke off (pic4). I don't know, but it seems that removing the front part of the moulding without taking that back piece off isn't something that you can do. Anyway, since Safelite refuses responsibility and is not doing anything about this, I will have to take it to Farmers on Monday and see what they say. I have owned the car for 7 years and have opened the trunk many many times without any issue. Rather strange that something like this happens the day after I took it to Safelite for a windshield replacement. read more

Safelite - Good Service or Bad? Fair pricing or Unfair? You decide! August 2, 2024 the Drivers side rear power window dropped and would not raise up again. After seeing all the Safelite commercials I decided to give them a try. This would be my first experience to use their service. I called Safelite, attempted to navigate their automated phone system, and finally got through to an agent so I could explain that I did not need glass replacement, just needed the regulator replaced. I was scheduled for repair August 5, 2024 at 7:00am. at the charge of $216.78. A day before the appointment I received a call from Safelite telling me the appointment was canceled due to the regulator part not being available. I was told Safelite would attempt to get the regulator reordered and an appointment was set for August 9, 2024 at 11:00am. On the 9th I arrived, my vehicle was placed in the service bay and after a wait of 45 minutes I was told the regulator part they received was wrong! It was for the Passenger side of the vehicle and they could not complete the repair. The Manager, Branden Aranda, told me this happens quite often with the Auto Part source they use! He then said, "If you want to purchase the regulator from AutoZone, or other parts store, and bring it to Safelite they would install it for me. I asked him what the install charge would be. Branden said, $250.00! I complained and stated that they were only going to charge me $216.78 for parts and labor before! Why would it be more if I brought in the regulator? Angered, I then said, "Cut me a break!" Brandon then said he would only charge me $150.00. I received his business card with his promise to install the regulator at that price. I then drove to AutoZone and purchased the regulator. The following day, August 10, 2024, I again drove to Safelite at the Mckellips, Mesa location. I asked the receptionist to notify Branden that I was back with the regulator part, which cost me $74.72, and that Branden had promised to install it for me. She checked with Branden, then returned only to set an appointment for Monday, August 12, 2024 at 12:30pm. Later that day I received an email confirmation for the appointment but the automated system is requiring $216.78!! NOT GOOD! Finally, on August 12, 2024 I arrived at the Safelite Service Center and provided the correct regulator. They took an hour and 1/2 to complete the job and 10 minutes to give me a printed receipt due to a system malfunction. As a result, due to their incompetence, eight days later, the total for my repair came to $224.72 plus three trips to Safelite and a trip to AutoZone! I will say that everyone was courteous but I doubt I will ever use Safelite again. read more

What a joke!! They promised me $25 for the tint strip at the top of the windshield, which they state they do not provide. Therefore they offer money back for it to be added by a another vendor. No problem, but the tech only gave me $20 even though it was written in the notes for a $25 refund. On top of this, the windshield is not installed correctly and air literally blows through the top seal. They don't answer their phone and then it finally disconnects. I had Safelite replaced my broken passenger side window. They fixed my window, but my windows are tinted and the job was so crappy. Every time, I rolled up my window it'll slightly fold the tint on the corner...I felt like they've rushed to put everything back together and didn't care to think and thought it was okay. It was an scheduled appointment to do this too and I don't understand why they would rush it, unless they have a time limit for everything they do. I made my appointment on line and was easy to schedule and question were easy to answer about the car. I was able to schedule quickly, and I was kept informed through the whole process. I arrive early, and they recognized my car and asked if it was ready, and I said yes. Overall it took about 45 minutes, and the vehicle was vacuum inside, and the window was cleaned and looks great again. Also, check for coupons online and was able to save $40bucks. One thing I didn't feel good about was the $19.95 old window disposal fee? That was almost a deal-breaker for me, and luckily, I got the coupon for $40 other words, I would have given a five-star rating, but the disposal fee was worth losing one star. read more

I had my windshield replaced by Mario 4/4/22. When I set up the appointment I let the lady know I had a tint strip on my windshield. There was no tint strip on the replacement window. I told the tech who had no valid response. This is an important feature living in hot and sunny Az. The tech did not properly reinstall my wiper blades so they hit each other when used. I attempted to call multiple times but could not get through since it recognized I recently had a replacement and referred me to the website. I'm not really sure how windshield replacements are supposed to go down, but I came in and got mine replaced. I thought it was a pretty good experience, staff was nice and I didn't have to wait that long. I was extremely grateful that I didn't have to drive around with a cracked windshield. When I got home I noticed that the weather stripping was missing, you know the black piece of rubber that outlines your entire windshield? I thought nothing of it, but the more I thought about it the more concerned I got. On top of that I also noticed that there was a tiny chip in the windshield as well. Like I said, I don't know how this stuff is supposed to go down, but If I'm spending $400 dollars on a windshield replacement I want to make sure everything is there, you know? If I could rate you-0 this experience I would! My font windshield was replaced two weeks ago and the installer left the review mirror off. He explained because of COVID the glass from Mexico has had "bad" adhesive and he would need to return the following day to adhere my review mirror to the glass. The wires were left exposed to 118 degree weather as well as the inside of the vehicle for over 18 hours. I find your services less than acceptable. read more

I have a 2023 Chevrolet 3500 High Country truck. The sunroof was broken on 2/26/24 and I took it to Auto Nation Chevrolet in Mesa to make sure it was not a warranty issue, which it was not. Since I have 100% glass coverage with Encompass Insurance, I went to the Safelite location at 5851 E. McKellips Rd, Mesa, AZ on February 29th. The first problem was they were slow in placing the order for the sunroof, telling me the insurance company had not approved the claim yet. I called my insurance agent and found out that was not the case. There was already a claim number and Encompass was just waiting for them to install the sunroof and send the invoice for them to pay the claim. After checking with Safelite on McKelleps a couple of times they indicated the sunroof glass had been ordered and they would call me and make an appointment for the installation. However, the short delay and confusion have turned out to be the least of my problems with Safelite on McKellips. Now the real problem! After waiting a week or so for the call and not hearing any follow-up on the sunroof from Safelite, I called the Store Manager, Brandon Aranda. He told me he would check on it and get back to me. Did not hear back so I called again. I may have talked to him again or the assistant store manager, Kory Borseth, they told me it had not arrived yet, but would check and let me know. Again, did not hear anything. When I called again, the same story, had not arrived and they would let me when it came in and call me for an appointment. I talked with them several times during this ordeal. By now we were over two weeks in or so with no sunroof and no idea if or when it had been shipped. Maybe it had arrived and was sitting at the warehouse, but it appeared to me there was obvious confusion regarding what had happened. After numerous phone calls and an earlier visit, I went in again on Friday, March 22nd to the office on McKellips. I am no longer being nice and understanding and talking to David in the office, very frustrated with the situation. It is difficult for me to understand how a company like Safelite cannot follow up on the order from the dealership and determine, if and when it was shipped with the tracking information, so there is at least some answer. David is trying to help me by checking with the warehouse (not normal chain-of-command), which by the way, has been moved to a new location. He followed up at the end of the day on Friday to let me know he had no answer yet, which was much appreciated. So now maybe it was at the old location or the new location, but who knows? Has it been shipped? Has it arrived? Is it at the old warehouse location? Is it at the new warehouse location? All I knew was that it was not installed in my truck, which had been sitting outside with the sunroof covered with plastic and trying to protect it from the elements. Your system of ordering glass, having it arrive at the warehouse, then be forwarded to the store, with no tracking information, and no communication between store and warehouse, appears from my point of view pathetic. I have never had to deal with a company whose system of ordering and receiving at the warehouse, with no apparent follow-up or tracking, appears so disconnected and disjointed. I was not sure if Safelite would ever get it installed, but gave Safelite on McKelleps over the weekend to resolve the problem. They were going to call on Monday, March 25th, regarding the issue. I did not hear from them so I called and was told nothing had changed and that I would have to wait. At that point, I decided to go with another company. So, on the 25th I found a company that was responsive to getting the glass and could get it immediately, unlike Safelite. I was told; it was available locally and would get it right away. They completed the job on March 28th. I am very disappointed in the way this was handled by Safelite and I AM SO DONE WITH THIS COMPANY! read more

Tech came to my home to replace windshield. Claim was to through insurance with no cost to me. Tech did not advise me that there was an issue with the insurance and I would be responsible for the cost. He replaced windshield and when he looked at the paper he said "oops, there is a balance for this install". At this point they could not remove windshield and I am unable to resolve the issue because the work has already been completed. I do not recommend doing buisness with this location. All attempts to fix issue denied and I am responsible for a $356.35 windshield. read more

We scheduled an appt. Received a text that the technician was arriving at 12:30 stating he was arriving at 11:55am. When called they indicated he had tried to call (we had no missed calls) and they would call back. The tracking app showed the technician was in Tempe the entire time. Following up, their customer service indicated he would return/call. Instead we received a notification at 1:15pm of an appointment in Mesa starting at 1pm at their location. The technician claimed he returned/called however the technician tracker never located and there were no missed calls. Long story short. We cancelled. This location lied at every opportunity. Being help hostage. Had windshield replaced a couple of month age. Trim around windshield that was replaced by Safelite and the main gasket at the top of the windshield are coming off. Called for Warranty service on Friday. Was told earliest appointment would be Tuesday between 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM. Got a call from tech saying he was running late and should be here between 2:30 PM and 3 PM. Have been home waiting for 5 hours and still no show. Recently took my Jeep Grand Cherokee in for a replacement windshield, because Safelite has a preferential contract with my auto insurance. I set up an appointment with Safelite. The job was quickly done, and the waiting area at the shop was clean and bright, but two weeks later there is already a crack in the upper portion of the new windshield. Yep, only lasted two weeks. I will be contacting my insurance company to see what can be done. Safelite has a reputation for using cheap Chinese glass. I cannot recommend this firm for windshield replacements. read more

Had Safelite replace my windshield in January, two service techs came out who were either lazy and rushing or inexperienced . When removing my wiper cowl the wrong way, damaged the paint on my hood in every location of a wiper cowl screw. I sent images to safelite along with several emails, also wrote it on the review that gets emailed after service is completed. I have used Safelite for 20 years and thought they were better than that. I will not be using them in the future. read more

I came to Safelites shop to check another shop that put in my Left rear Side glass because it was not venting thinking the other shop did not install it properly. I came in and Dan looked it over and helped me out and he took 20 minutes to look it over for me!! I took it into 3 other shops and all of them stated it was totally sealed in and needed replaced. They were totally wrong and Dan at safelite clarified it and advised it needs a new vent motor and not a new glass. I will definitely only do business with safelite due to their honesty and clarification of an issue with my vehicle!! Thanks again for your help Dan!! read more

HORRIBLE EXPERENCE!!! The Safelite on 5851 E McKellips Rd, Mesa, AZ 85215 serviced my sisters car when she got 2 chips driving on the freeway to come visit. They took 1.5 hours instead of the 20 min quoted then the chips had turned into 5 inch cracks when they handed her car back over and items in the trunk had been rummaged through and left laying out open in her trunk!!!! When she confronted them they said that they went through her trunk for "ventilation". RIDICULOUS!!! I will never be using Safelite!!! I hope others think twice before they do too!!! read more
