    Missing washer cap
    Lee B.

Went to jiffy lube to get my oil changed as I'm leaving in the morning to drive to Oceanside California for my family vacation. Oil change went fine the tech said they also topped my windshield washer fluid to which I said thank you. I got home and decided to clean my k&n cold air I take air filter and re-oil it. When I opened my hood I noticed that my cap wash missing to my washer fluid. I looked in my engine and could not find it so I called the shop and spoke with Jayce Dalton. He listened to what I said and then put me on hold after speaking with the tech who worked on my car he said, "when the tech opened your washer cap it broke and fell down near the wheel well." Then I asked him why didn't they tell me. He said, " well they found it and put it back on but it was broke" to which I replied why didn't you guys tell me that it was broken or needed to be replaced if you added fluid to it and it broke off that information should of been given to me. Just being honest and up front would of been better than me driving miles home and now not having a cap because it's nowhere to be found so now I have to use tape until I get it replaced. I asked him for the techs name who worked on my vehicle so I could speak to management about it because it's annoying that I had to come home and open my hood to find my washer cap is missing. I understand it's a small part but it would of been nice to know that it was broken so I could if kept it in place. He would not give me the techs name so I said I would look at my invoice and found it. It was upper bay tech Armando G. But Destiny also looked under my hood and didn't say anything as well. After paying $103.84 it would of been nice to know I needed to replace a part that they broke off. I will be calling the manager Michael Triebly Monday to speak with him as I will not be going here in the future and I will be talking to my manager of my company that has a fleet account with jiffy lube to let him know that this one close to our shop is dishonest so we won't be using them for business. Follow up so when I left for my trip I noticed my check engine light came on which put my anxiety through the roof since we were halfway to California. I stopped at an auto one to have them check my engine code to see what was going on and the engine code was related to oil viscosity. To make a long story short jiffy lube also put the wrong oil in my engine and I had to get an additional oil change which thankfully for me I went to valvoline who did it for free after hearing what jiffy lube did and how they even put the wrong oil in my truck. I will never go to another jiffy lube again.

Oil on the driveway. Ugh…read more Called some friends to get a recommendation for a local shop. One said that Scott from Sunland was the guy. We had the car towed over (2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid), and they diagnosed the problem and repaired the issue quickly and at a fair price. Unfortunately, the tech made a small mistake and once we got the car home, there was more oil on the driveway and a check engine light. Ugh, again. So we called back to Scott to see what he wanted us to do. We understand that sometimes mistakes are made and issues arise. How a business owner handles those issues are the difference between good businesses and great ones. This is a great one. Scott was MUCH more upset than we were! He got us back in same day and fixed the issue at no charge! (We should have paid for a necessary part, but he would not charge us.) With everything so expensive these days, and everyone trying to stretch a buck, it's hard to know if you're leaving your car with someone who cares about it as much as you do. Scott does. I cannot recommend this shop highly enough!

I am learning I can't believe artificially inflated reviews on Yelp - because of these positive…read morereviews, I've been going to Sunland for years. I realized that outside of the most basic work (like breaks, fluids or shock changes), they are not the place to go. When I have issues and take a car in, I leave with the very same issues, but I think they are taken care of. I have multiple cars now which fall into this category. The most recent is a Ford Expedition with a leak. $1500 into the work, the original problem was not solved. In fact, I now have a quote for $1900 for the remainder - when I asked why the problem wasn't solved it was 'oh we misdiagnosed it and you "Approved" the work'. They do not stand behind their misdiagnosis. I have not had this issue elsewhere- dealerships or other big-box repair shops. Another situation - I went in for a check engine light; they replaced a spark plug. The same thing is still occurring even now after my car has had all of its spark plugs changed, and I personally found a broken air hose in the engine and fixed it myself. They went with the computer code but never actually diagnosed the problem. I'm not driving rare cars. When I reflect back on previous cars I've had issues with, the same pattern occurs - I take it in, the problem is not fixed, I am quoted a large estimate, I buy another car - the savings I perceived to have were never worth it. Consider this when you go in.

Mike sent several apologies and went above and beyond what most business owners would do in a situation such as this. - He refunded me for the missed alignment and the cost of the new tire. To find this kind of honesty is rare and it proves that he operates his business with integrity. Knowing this, I would not hesitate to bring my vehicle directly to Mike in the future if need be. Mistakes happen, and he was quick to correct it. Thank you, Mike! ********************************************************* My husband brought my car over to AZ Automasters in February of 2024. We had never been there before, but I had just had new control arms and ball joints put in and since the tires were also brand new, my mechanic who did that work recommended an alignment. AZ Automasters kept the car overnight and my husband picked it up the following day. My husband stated that he asked the employees if the alignment was off and by how much, and that no one could answer his questions or seemed to "know anything about anything." But he did say that the employees working the morning he picked it up were not the same ones who were working when he dropped it off. He didn't leave feeling super confident but they said the car was done so he left and that was that. This car is kept in a garage, has not been in any accidents, hit any curbs or anything of that nature, and is well loved. I have put 8000 miles on the vehicle since the alignment. The other day we realized that the tires should probably be rotated and were horrified to notice that the outside of the passenger front tire was completely bald, the inside of the tire barely worn. We went over to where we purchased the tires as they are warranteed to 80,000 miles, but because they deemed it an "alignment issue", I had to purchase a brand new tire out of pocket. Not only did I waste $118.00 at AZ Automasters as they did not complete the alignment I paid for, I'm out an additional $145 for a new tire and still need to get the car aligned. I'll certainly be getting alignment, but it won't be at AZ Automasters. *Edit* I just had a front end alignment at a reputable shop where the employees actually care about their customers. They had to take a torch to the tie-rod jam nuts as they were totally locked up on both sides. This would NOT have had to be done had AZ Automasters done the work they were paid to do a year and a half ago. Also, this shop, who did the alignment using lasers, was able to show us via computer what they adjusted and how much, which AZ Automasters could not do for us. And this new place was cheaper! Lesson learned to shop around!

They got me in quickly, were incredibly friendly from the moment I walked in, and took the time to thoroughly check everything out. It turned out to be something as simple as a loose spare tire, something that could have easily been misdiagnosed elsewhere. What really stood out to me is that they fixed the issue right then and there and didn't charge me anything. That level of honesty and integrity is rare these days. As a woman, it can sometimes feel intimidating trying to find an auto shop you can truly trust. At Crawford's, I felt completely comfortable, respected, and confident that I was being treated fairly, no upselling, no pressure, just genuine help. They've absolutely earned my trust, and I will be coming back for any future car needs.
