Oil on the driveway. Ugh…read more Called some friends to get a recommendation for a local shop. One said that Scott from Sunland was the guy. We had the car towed over (2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid), and they diagnosed the problem and repaired the issue quickly and at a fair price. Unfortunately, the tech made a small mistake and once we got the car home, there was more oil on the driveway and a check engine light. Ugh, again. So we called back to Scott to see what he wanted us to do. We understand that sometimes mistakes are made and issues arise. How a business owner handles those issues are the difference between good businesses and great ones. This is a great one. Scott was MUCH more upset than we were! He got us back in same day and fixed the issue at no charge! (We should have paid for a necessary part, but he would not charge us.) With everything so expensive these days, and everyone trying to stretch a buck, it's hard to know if you're leaving your car with someone who cares about it as much as you do. Scott does. I cannot recommend this shop highly enough!

I realized that outside of the most basic work (like breaks, fluids or shock changes), they are not the place to go. When I have issues and take a car in, I leave with the very same issues, but I think they are taken care of. I have multiple cars now which fall into this category. The most recent is a Ford Expedition with a leak. $1500 into the work, the original problem was not solved. In fact, I now have a quote for $1900 for the remainder - when I asked why the problem wasn't solved it was 'oh we misdiagnosed it and you "Approved" the work'. They do not stand behind their misdiagnosis. I have not had this issue elsewhere- dealerships or other big-box repair shops. Another situation - I went in for a check engine light; they replaced a spark plug. The same thing is still occurring even now after my car has had all of its spark plugs changed, and I personally found a broken air hose in the engine and fixed it myself. They went with the computer code but never actually diagnosed the problem. I'm not driving rare cars. When I reflect back on previous cars I've had issues with, the same pattern occurs - I take it in, the problem is not fixed, I am quoted a large estimate, I buy another car - the savings I perceived to have were never worth it. Consider this when you go in.

He said I was the first person in 5 years that had asked for prices to be matched from another nearby mechanic shop. He even said that the prices that they quoted me, that I should go to the other shop instead, was a $60 difference by the way. Was also told by Ken that I wasn't a good customer because I had only done one oil service with them in a year and a half. Will never give Crawford's my business and they're just another auto shop that's dishonest and takes advantage of their customers. Hard to find integrity these days!!

When I told them I was taking it somewhere else, they said come back in an hr. I asked about the fluid and the mechanic said he'd put the old stuff back in. I told him to at least fill it to spec. When I came back to get it, they lied and told me he filled it to spec and told the service writer (in front of me) to "get this guy outta here." They didn't want to give me any paperwork but I requested it to see what was in writing and they said they'd filled the trans fluid to spec. I asked the other shop to let me know what they found and they confirmed my suspicions, there was only 1 quart of nasty fluid in there. There are plenty of other shops, don't go here!

I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado and my check engine light came on for my evap system having a small leak. After few weeks when I was filling up my gas tank I notice fuel leaking from my gas tank, I couldn't see where the fuel was coming from so I look up an auto shop that could inspect the issue further. I found mesa autowauto works because they had good reviews and they are located close to my neighborhood. When I brought my truck in they told me what they plan to do for the inspection, when they found the issue they told me I would need to replace my whole gas tank due to a crack in the rollover valve, which was molded into the tank. I asked to see the damage and they were happy to have me in and show me exactly what was cracked and leaking from the tank. After the inspection they gave me a complete break down of parts and labor so I knew what the cost was going to be before they started the work. They were able to get the work done and return my truck back to me in one day. With my busy work schedule that was great that they were able to complete everything so quickly because I need my truck for work. The price was reasonable for a complete gas tank swap, and they replaced my fuel pump for free due to part being damaged during the swap. I was very happy with the work, cost and time spent on my truck. I would like to say thank you to Stan and Korey for treating me well. I went to a nationwide repair facility that I had been doing business with for a long time for a coolant leak . That facility said my car had a leaking head gasket and they don't do that kind of work. Upon recommendation of a neighbor, I took my car to Mesa Auto Works. They did their own tests and inspections. They found that the leak was actually coming from a different hose other than the main coolant hoses. All they had to do was tighten the clamp. This saved me lots of money. From now on, Mesa Auto Works will be my "go to" shop for all my repairs and maintenance. I had no appointment yet they were quick with the diagnosis. So, I had them do an oil change and transmission fluid change. Since I live nearby, they even offered to pick me up to retrieve the my car. There is some other work I am interested in getting done and will be returning in the next month or so to have them do it. Their prices seem fair even although I heard they may be a little more pricier. A lesser expensive place isn't always the best place to go. read more

I've been going to "Stan's" (Mesa Auto Works) since buying my used '05 Volvo in 2008. We've driven it on multiple trips to Michigan, Iowa, and California. Before any trip, and when service is due, I take it to Mesa Auto Works to have it checked over so as to avoid any mechanical breakdowns on the road (so far, no problems). Sometimes there is a list of items (they always call before starting the work, to give me the options and advice), sometimes there are things that need to be done, and I'm given an explanation as to why. But sometimes, despite having the perfect opportunity to "find" something, or even several things, I get only what I've requested to be done, and a "good to go" vote of confidence for the trip. Most people don't trust their auto mechanics, but when needed work is explained and done right in a timely manner, and unnecessary work isn't pushed, I find that I DO trust Mesa Auto Works. read more

Mesa Auto Works is as good as it gets in Honest Auto Repair. The negative reviews I read on here are obviously by people who do not understand the cost of doing business, nor the complexity of the vehicles they drive. The Davis's have run this family shop for over 20 years -- you do not stay in business that long if you are nefarious. They are the only shop that I know of that will take the time to give you the information, to make an informed decision on what is needed to repair your vehicle. Repeat business is how they do business. They are the only place that I trust to repair my vehicles because they inform, and let me decide. read more

I love these guys!!!! I had taken my car to the dealership for an oil change. After an hour and a half wait I was told I needed $700 worth of work done, keep in mind my car is a 2011. The service guy said it was imperative to have a "fuel system flush" and was very pushy. My Dad recommended Mesa Auto Works to me to have a second opinion. I made an appointment and they got me in on the same day. I showed Stanley the owner the list that the dealership gave me and he walked me through it and even showed me on my vehicle what was and was not necessary. They saved me a ton of money and I am forever grateful. read more

We have been taking our 2013 cars to Mesa Auto Works for many years. They have kept our cars in geat shape. My only complaint is that they charge for the repairs (Hahahahaha). They are quick, fair with regard to their pricing, and most of all trustworthy. We cannot imagine using any other auto shop. I just wish they sold stock in the company. They explained that the ignition components installed previously had contributed to additional engine issues and showed me the parts they had removed. Needless to say, I was extremely frustrated after paying so much for the original repair. Based on my experience, I would not return or recommend this shop. I expected quality parts, honest communication, and a lasting repair, but unfortunately that was not my experience.
