This was my family's favorite place to eat. After Tuesday night 4/5/2022 we aren't going back. Our waiter was the worst we ever had. Our bill was $80 and my fiance and i split that bill without taking our receipts or waiting for him to come back but that how he was the whole night ignoring us. We left him a cash tip on the table. We checked our bank statements and this guy tipped himself $20!! He charged my card an extra $10 and my finace card extra $10!! MAKE SURE YOU WAIT FOR RECEIPTS AFTER PAYING!! We got into town late from Phoenix and luckily this Academy location was open until 10pm on a Thursday night. My folks had eaten at the 4th st. location years ago but couldn't remember much about their experience, so we thought we'd give this one a try. To our surprise, it was amazing! We tried both the ground beef and chicken enchiladas (the beef was way better!) with green chile. The plates came with beans and fried potatoes (no rice-which we were cool with) and I added a fried egg on my plate which was a great. Awesome food and great service! read more

Not a big fan of Mexican food to begin with and this did not help. We have been to Sadies at a different local many times but felt like hitting this one since it was close to home. It started off good when the hostess seated just promptly and we were greeted by our waiter and took our drink orders. From there it headed south, no pun intended. When our meal finally arrived you could tell that the plates had been sitting under the hot lamp for quite some time as the beans were super dry and crusted over. Once our food arrived we hardly ever saw the waiter and asking for check it took a while to get. I think when we go to Sadie's we will stick to our original spot and go to the one that has served us well with great food. read more

This was a drive-by selection for us on my last trip to the Land of Enchantment. We had actually been to the original Sadie's a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it, but we've been wanting to try new places while we're in ABQ. But, we were in a rush and hungry, so we decided a different location of Sadie's still fit our goals of eating at different places... The staff and service at this Sadie's really stood out for me. Friendly and sincere are the two words that come to mind. We made it during Happy Hour, so my colleague and I both ordered house margaritas for $5. A decent marg, no complaints here. The big winner at Sadie's? I LOVE their salsa. I mean, it's addictive. I also ordered two regular tacos for dinner and they came out perfect: corn tortillas lightly fried (not too crisp, not too soggy) and filled with lightly seasoned ground beef, a little lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. Yea, yea, you say, I know what goes in a taco. But when it's done right, it's a perfect little pocket of perfection. In my experience, if you can't get the tacos right, nothing else is going to measure up, either. Short story? I recommend Sadie's, whichever location (and there are 4 in ABQ). read more

I live two minutes from the Sadie's on 4th and have given up on it. Helloooo Sadie's on Academy! We love to sit on the patio with our dogs and binge on chips. The service at this Sadie's is always good. The takeout is always right (except for that one time but the excellent manager made up for it). Their menu is a tiny bit different from 4th: no chicharrón and bean burrito available. Solid service, consistent food, and the best queso in town. Get some. read more

I LOVE SADIE'S! From their house-made salsa that sometimes I fill up on before I even get to my food because it's so good to the warm sopapillas and honey at the end of the meal and everything in between. The food is not only good but I don't know of anyone that has ever left hungry, plus, the margaritas are a nice addition. The food and service are always consistent, well-priced and the facility is great for larger parties. Always a great time! read more

The food here is very tastie but it all runs into each other. I ordered chicken enchiladas. It came with beans and papitas. It's a huge portion that there's no way to finish it all. This location absolutely SAVED our 4th of July holiday! Get ready for a long story... We were on day 12 of a 14 day road trip, homeward bound when we decided to take a more southern route home from Las Vegas JUST to pass through Albuquerque to eat at Sadie's. We had been at the original Sadie's last year and although the place was packed and had poor building upkeep, we were in love with the food. I Google searched the number to Sadie's and called in advance to see if they were even open on Independence Day. I was told that they were open and until 11p.m. After hearing this good news, we decided to stay with family another night in Vegas knowing we could easily get to Sadie's before close on the 4th. Well, we arrive to a sign on the door of the original Sadie's saying they closed at 9p.m. because they were slow. I was outraged! I called back the same number and asked for the manager because I could see that employees were still in there closing down. It turns out that there are 4 locations and the one I called IS open until 11p.m. and they are only 10 minutes up the road. The manager who took my call was overly understanding and helpful despite my angry tone. We made it to this location 45 minutes before they closed but not a single person treated us like a burden. We had the best servers! Patrick and Antoinette rocked! They were both so attentive to our table and didn't rush us at all. We got a complementary dessert and never had to ask for drink refills. I tipped them 50% of our bill total because they were excellent servers, the food was delicious and they were working on a holiday. We even asked to speak to the manager to thank him for his help and tell him how amazing our service was overall. I can't say enough good things about this location. The building is SO clean and after being here, I can never go back to the old one. read more

Going to skip my friends meals, as they were both happy. Therefore, this review applies only to the chips, guacamole (it's a soft "g" folks!), salsa, and...the nachos. Yes, I dared order the nachos. Dont' say I wasn't warned. My best friend warned me about them. The server even triple checked to ensure that I didn't want the small nachos, or perhaps just some more time to think about it. "Nope, I want the big ones" I confidently told him....Whoops. Let me forewarn you, bring a youth baseball team if you want to order the large nachos. Really. I was starving, we had all just finished a run, and I wanted nothing more than bottomless nachos. Well, that's what I received, and damn if they weren't amazing. Light and flavorfull shredded beef, still slightly juicy, yet tender. Jalapenos that could be tossed aside when your mouth decided it needed a vacation from proper NM spicyness. A couple heaping scoops of guacamole, reall cheese dripping everywhere, and tasty beans deep down inside. I went all in. Hammered that plate. Did my best. Kept attacking from all angles. Failure. Utter failure. I must have ate what three people usually eat that night...Still needed a to go container. You know those 2 foot long X 1.5 foot wide X 6 inch deep catering trays? Yeah, that's what they brought instead of a "to-go box." I managed to fit it all in, but just barely. We weighed it at home, was somewhere around 7 lbs of food. Mind you that I think I ate at least 2.5lbs prior to this. 2 people ate those nachos for the next three days, and I still had to finally toss it out. Think I learned my lesson? Heck no, I'm just going to run longer (maybe up La Luz AND back down) next time, then do some jumping jacks in the parking lot. I will conquer the almighty Sadie's Nachos, I will! read more

I have never written a review before but the customer service here was so bad I feel I should warn people. The food is good, and the waiter was prompt...but the lack of customer service from the hosts really ruined my meal! First off, the need for 5 hostesses is ridiculous! Especially when the lobby was full, and 4 tables needed to be cleared so I didn't understand why the 5 weren't doing anything but standing there chitchatting with each other doing absolutely nothing. The lobby was full of people waiting to be seated! The manger walked around looking lost and had no control over his staff and seemed to be just standing around with them. Back in the day the manager and the hostess were the faces that represented the company and greeted customers with a friendly welcome greeting. I was shocked at the behavior of the staff! They had no customer service skills whatsoever! They all acted as if they were doing everybody a favor by acting like entitled little brats. I will not ever go back to eat at this establishment, nor will I ever recommend it. They used to be really good. What a shame. read more

Totally disappointed there is nothing like the original on 4th st. The staff was just really rude. Took like 30 to get waited on just for water. Another 30 for our food order then another 30 to get our food. And they weren't even busy. We felt like we were discriminated against for being hispanic. She had a great personality and knew the menu inside and out. Loved this place and the service. This is a must do place if your visiting Albuquerque area. First let me admit my fish taco dinner was pretty good. But it was the only less unhealthy choice. Not what I would go back for. Looking at the menu, seeing the massive plates the others in my group ordered and hearing their unimpressed comments, it felt like this is a place to get filled up, not for those who like healthy and tasty food choices. I showed up a bit late and the servers never made much of an effort to catch me up. They didn't even have my check ready with everyone else after a 45min meal! Food was just OK, I wouldn't call it true text max. It's been to gentrified. Service was good Price was reasonable.

Excellent Mexican food. Most of the meals are shareable. The salsa is also great and if you like it hot this place is for you.

This is our favorite place to take out of towners. It's great food, lots of it, and the best Margaritas in town. I'm a big fan of their ala carte menu w/ their sides, but their entrees are also really good. More often than not, we find ourselves getting green chile strips, then getting a few dishes to share, like papas con queso and a sloppy Jose. It's a fun environment, too, especially for visitors. Their salsa and Chile are a bit hot for people who aren't used to it, but most of our family and friends still really enjoy the food. If you haven't tried it, get their fresh silver coin Margarita. It's a bit expensive, but 100% worth it if you're a fan or silver tequila. read more

One of my favorite New Mexican restaurants in Albuquerque. The red chili is hot and very tasty, but be prepared for the heat! The Taco burger is huge. The Billy bondo burger is also a favorite. Good selection of beer and mixed drinks. Salsa is excellent and hot. Only down side is you might have to wait for a table on the weekends. read more

Been there a couple of times and we loved the service each time! The waiters were awesome, gave us great choices and suggestions. We loved the food and I am a huge fan of their red chilli. The fried ice cream was awesome too. One thing you have to be aware of though is that their portion sizes seemed huge to me! So u need to be ready to share/take to go/eat till u r really really full!
