Attended a graduation brunch here and we were disappointed. It was a group of eleven for $62 per person and 18% gratuity up front. I thought this was a great price and good idea to have the bill paid. The brunch theme this month is Mexican, but the brunch menu was lackluster for a seafood restaurant. There was a taco bar with options of beef, chicken and pork. I was surprised there were no seafood options for shrimp or fish tacos since this is a seafood restaurant. Even the crab and chicken tamale pie was mostly chicken. The chilled seafood must've ran out because I couldn't find it anywhere. There was plenty of breakfast food and egg salad? The waiters seemed overwhelmed with the crowd by how they were bustling by the tables constantly coming back without the drink orders. The only positive was the parking garage being directly on the premisses. This was my first time at this restaurant and I will not be returning. This was a glamorized golden coral at best. read more

The absolute only reason I took away a star was because upon entrance the bottom level parking was blocked off and there was no one there to monitor it. We are from Wyoming and we needed to get our seafood fix. We were only in town for a few hours, and our Uber driver recommended Rusty Scupper. It was an incredible experience. Ashley, our server was absolutely fabulous. She was great with our 8 year old, patient with our ordering, and paced everything nicely. She went above and beyond and was pleasant the entire time. Warm Butter Cake was amazing. Just had start with that! We actually had our destination wedding reception dinner here years ago and haven't been back since. This was mainly because we didn't think we miss anything because we simply didn't remember much. Maybe that's a feature they can figure out. Like how to make the evening memorable beyond the food but that's a side bar. We were sooo mistaken, the food was great the calamari was lightly breaded. The blackened salmon is a must have. I though I was going to regret not getting the smoked salmon but not at all it was flavored perfectly. The towers disappeared so fast we didn't even get photos. I enjoyed a glass of monkey bay. I received bread service with pink sauce (creamy, hint of horseradish and worchestershire) i wanted to know the hype of the maryland crab cake. So of course i got the appetizer. -1 star only because it is cost prohibited at $29 (entree was $44 for comparison) But the taste was truly magnificent ... no filler at all. Only enough to hold the succelent crab together. So for me, worth the $ completely! I did truly enjoy the scallops (5 pieces). They were nice and big. The flavor profile reminded me of fall harvest with the nutty flavors combined with the grapes. The pace of service was excellent. Bread service within 5 min. My app 10 min later. My Daughter Graduated from Towson University this past May 2024 and wanted to have her Graduation Celebration at the Rusty Scupper and well the service and meal basically sub standard. This restaurant has the absolute best views of the Inner Harbor. I have been to this brunch frequently so you definitely need to reserve your table in advance for 1030am or 1pm seating. The parking lot is right outside the restaurant which has a small fee. This brunch is definitely top notch with bottomless sangria, Bellini & mimosa. The have a live band that play soft music. The buffet is packed with fruits, salads, cheeses, sausage biscuits gravy, sausages, French toast, Mac and cheese, home fries, salmon etc. The waffle bar has strawberries, chocolate chip and blue berries topping and whip cream. The raw bar with oyster on a half shelves along with craving meat station. The omelette station has everything and I mean everything for the perfect omelette. Our overall late night dinner dining experience, I must say, was PRETTY DARN PERFECT IN EVERY WAY even as super pricey and expensive as this place is. 5 STARS. I'll add, as a bit of history, that Rusty Scupper has been at this primo waterfront location since when the Inner Harbor / Harborplace was developed in the early '80s. A true Baltimore landmark - one that I haven't been to in probably over 10 years (or more) and I can report that this place is still as sparkling and gleaming as it was when it first opened! From the moment you view the beautiful open dining area AND THE GORGEOUSLY BEAUTIFUL AND BREATHTAKING WATERFRONT VIEW, you know you're in for a realllllllll treat. We made dinner reservations on the later side AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOING SO. The place closes earlier than normal, as all places seem to, since covid. 9PM on Fri Sat and Sun (the day we came); looks like they're closed on Mon and an 8PM close mid week. We made reservs for 730PM and when we arrived, the place was sparsely filled with plenty of open tables. WE ASKED FOR A TABLE WITH WATER VIEWS which they accommodated. The tables are spread out sufficiently to give enough privacy. And even just 20 minutes into our seating, the place seemed to clear out leaving just ourselves and a few other tables being served - enough to not feel awkward but nice enough to feel like we had the place to ourselves. If you prefer dinner on the later side like us, 715-730PM is definitely a good time to come. PARKING: Rusty Scupper has its own (paid) parking area! Yes, paid but conveniently located right there steps away from their restaurant. GET YOUR TICKET VALIDATED AND PAY $9. Worth it imo, and I guess just another reason to not rush your meal and stay, linger and take in the whole experience! There is city parking (paid) all along Key Highway leading up to the restaurant and on a nice day/night, the walking distance is fine - just look for an open space as you approach the restaurant. The staff, from the folks at the hostess stand to our server, Haley, was superb. Hailey was a pro. Experienced, pleasant, friendly and accommodating. Throughout the evening, she was there when we needed her; otherwise, she left us alone to enjoy our meal and experience. The menu, while of course centering on seafood, did have some non seafood entrees - not a ton of options (see my pics of the 1 sided dinner menu) but sufficient. Extensive wine menu - the entire back page of the menu. Party of 4 and we all ordered something different and we all enjoyed our dish - expertly prepared, beautifully plated, came out piping hot and delicious. Bread for the table and a dipping sauce (see my pic) comes before the meal. Ask for more if need be - it's delicious! We ordered: - Calamari appetizer - delicious, crispy just so and flavorful, big meaty bites, piping hot out of the fryer - 7 oz Filet came with steamed vegs and Bernaise Sauce on the side - delicious, juicy. Even for a seafood joint, they know how to grill steaks just right. The penultimate of perfection for this dish would have been a larger portion of the side vegs. - Blackened Shrimp and Grits - according to my companion, "probably the best tasting shrimp dish I've EVER had." Woah. Ahriiiight then. She had never had grits before (wt? Don't ask me what planet she flew in from...) but loved them and (see my pic) they weren't you every day ordinary grits - these were flavored up to the hilt (I had a taste) and were deeee-FREAKING-licious and went perfectly with the good-sized, perfectly blackened shrimp. She told me she dreamed about that dish that night and thought about it for days later. Lol. Silly girl. - Chargrilled Rockfish - again, delicious according to my companion, grilled just so, flavorful, and moist. - I had the Lump Crab Fettuccini - delicious. I knew it would be rich, creamy and dense - but I was in the mood for it when I saw it on the menu. And it was all that. No skimping on the crab meat and I was glad I didn't add the shrimp for extra $$ - dish didn't need it. - We were stuffed to the gills (seafood reference - "sea" what I did there? lol) but we ordered the Butter Cake for dessert and shared it 4-ways. It was enough to cleanse our palettes and was delicious. Buttery housemade pound cake with vanilla ice cream and strawberries on top. YUM. Before-you-leave tip: NO MATTER HOW CROWDED IT IS, BEFORE YOU LEAVE, BE SURE TO TAKE A LAP AROUND THE ENTIRE RESTAURANT TO GET THE FULL EFFECT. Down the hallway to the restrooms is a cool Wall of Fame - famous folks that dined there (see my vid!). Cool history. And when you go back outside, stroll around the grounds and take in the beauty of their special waterfront location! Spectacular. Especially at night. Bottom line - HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Worth the price in all respects. I feel like the ownership and staff understand the customer experience that HAS TO come with the prices they are charging - and aim to deliver and please. I decided to take my mom to brunch for Mother's Day and we had a great time. She loved the table we were seated at because we had an amazing view of the water. Our waiter Mark was so attentive and kept the drinks flowing for us! The food selection was fantastic and I loved how the restaurant made sure they had staff keeping everything tidy. With an influx of patrons on Mother's Day you know things can get a little crazy but you can tell they had a system in place and everything ran seamlessly. When checking in at the Renaissance, it was recommended we dine at Rusty Scupper Restaurant instead of where we were going. So we put on our not so winter gear and walked in the 24 degree weather in hopes this dinner was going to be good. Dinner was amazingly delicious. We also started with the crab dip with toasted bread that was scrumptious. The atmosphere looking out into the harbor was nice during the day, however, when the sun went down WOW! Our waitress, Jackie, was the best! Her personality was very energetic and affable. She gave us great recommendations and was very attentive to us and her other tables. So I was invited out for my birthday to Rusty Scupper's brunch. Which i had been told is something I have to experience. So I take them on the offer & agreed to attend. Now when I got here it took me 15 minutes to get into the parking lot to park it was that many people attending the brunch. Once I found a spot I headed in for an amazing time. The brunch is a Sunday special that costs $58 a person. But it comes with unlimited mimosas and a huge variety of food to choose from. The biggest plus of the brunch is you get the pleasure of a live jazz band to entertain you while you enjoy the large selection of food options you are greeted with. I've added the ones that were hands down my favorite the oysters, roast beef, honey roasted turkey, & omelette (which you tell them what you want in it) where to die for. It wasn't limit portions like some brunches I've attended. Plus the service was amazing the waiters were constantly right there to remove the plates once you were finish & quickly give you refills. But the major selling point is you're blessed with an amazing view of the harbor while you're dining. The view alone ups the romantic mood of the dining. Where do I begin? I was skeptical because I felt the name did not match with the atmosphere. Forgot all about it once me and my lady walked in. We were blown away from start to finish. The mood was right, the lighting was perfect, the music selection was a vibe. The host checked us in and we were seated by the window right away watching the water. Once we unwinded, our server Donta was there to greet us immediately with his charisma and invitation. He explained the menu extremely well to the point where me and my lady looked at each other flustered and anxious all in a good way. The octopus app was different and delicious. According to my lady face the cream of crab was amazing (she closed her eyes). Once again overwhelmed by the menu, Donta said "no problem" and broke the menu down for us. We came to a decision I got the steak and crab cake with the collards and mash and my lady got the short rib with collards and mash. I have never in all my restaurant going days asked to meet the Chef. I was completely blown away. Chef Aaron did his thing and he deserved a handshake for the way the meals tasted. 10 out of 10. Went here with my friend on a day trip to Maryland from Virginia. Both of us work In restaurants(both kitchen and front of house). Food was good we got oysters and cauliflower. Our bartender was nice but kinda seem out of it. He was having conversation before he went to the table and it was very noticeable. My friend asked about the oyster we got and where they were and he didn't know which is reasonable but didn't follow up about where the oysters were when he said he would ask about it. While visiting the Inner Harbor with my wife and daughter this past weekend, we had dinner at the Rusty Scupper on Saturday night. This iconic restaurant has been there for 37 years! I remember seeing it often while dining on the other side of the harbor. It's location is great, with beautiful views while eating. The food was excellent! We started with a plate of oysters and a crab cake. These were both a huge hit. Also, I can't forget the bread on the table came with an amazing dip. For entrees, I had blackened swordfish, my wife had shrimp stuffed with crabmeat, and my daughter had blackened salmon. We all really enjoyed the meals. The garlic mashed potatoes were outstanding! Only reason I didn't go 5 stars is because I found the prices extraordinarily high. The food and ambiance was excellent, could just cost slightly less. read more

Enjoyed a nice dinner here over the weekend. The name doesn't exactly match the type of restaurant that this is. Definitely more of a classier seafood restaurant. I definitely recommend making a reservation because the views of the Inner Harbor are unmatched! The bread service came accompanied with an aioli house sauce that was incredible. I never thought to dunk bread into an aioli sauce but I wish every place did this. It was a garlicky sauce with elements of roasted red pepper and almond, so be warned of you have nut allergies! I ordered the daiquiri colada for my drink and my oh my was this tasty. It felt like I was drinking a smoothie. So fruity and tropical. Nice that they have frozen cocktails here, made the experience more fun to me. For dinner I had the 7 Oz filet mignon and added a lobster tail. The steak was delicious but didn't completely blow me away. Charred at the top and oh so tender. Mashed potatoes were whipped to perfection and perfectly buttery. I don't normally order lobster tails so I can't compare to much but I found it to be really good and I overheard a person at a neighboring table say the same thing. My boyfriend got the Spicy Lump Crab Fettuccine. Surprisingly, the unique blend of flavors with the mint, jalapeños, lemon and cream sauce went together very nicely! We loved this place and thought the views of the Inner Harbor were the icing on the cake. Come early to your reservation if you'd like to request a window seat. The scallops were melt-in-your-mouth soft, the crab-stuffed shrimp were succulent, and the shrimp and grits were tasty (although a little too heavy/creamy at the end). The complimentary bread was perfect and I loved the butter and spicy crab dip. The wood-paneled ambience and views are great. For parking, they have a parking garage and validate parking, and you can leave your car there until 11 pm if you want to stroll around. This place wasn't my first choice but it was available. So here I am. With a very limited menu. I ordered a Caesar salad with a side of crab meat. For the side of crab meat to be $13 I'm thinking I'm getting a good portion of meat. Y'all. My crab came out in one of those little bowls that you put ketchup in. Disappointment is an understatement. Our server, Tyler, was really nice, attentive, and personable. I am not a seafood gal, but I tried the roasted veggies and the mashed potatoes and they were great. My chicken was good too.
