This place was phenomenal start to finish. The view from the window seats is awesome. We went at night- looking at the city and the Bay from the restaurant is gorgeous. Our waitress was very very knowledgeable and had good recommendations. We had their own beer on draft and had crab cakes, salmon, and swordfish. All prepared well and delicious. After a lovely cruise around Baltimore's Inner Harbor, my girlfriend and I decided to try the Rusty Scupper, a restaurant we've been meaning to try since moving to the area last year. Sadly it was a bit of a disappointment. Disclaimer- I'm not a big seafood person but I've had plenty of tasty burgers at seafood places. Not so at the Rusty Scupper. I asked for a medium well burger but there was no pink at all in the patty and the French fries had way too much Old Bay on them. I just couldn't justify spending $54 or $69 on a steak but maybe I should have. My girlfriend's salmon, prepared Asian style, was tasty but there was way too much Asian sauce, completely drowning out the taste of the vegetables. The crab dip appetizer was heavy on the mayonnaise and light on the pico de gallo that could have made it much tastier. Our server disappeared over and over again. Being there at 2 PM, the restaurant was mostly empty and I feel like there wasn't a great excuse for that. I will say that the view was amazing from our table and our meals ended strong with spiked coffee and cheesecake but I don't think we'll make the trek out to the Rusty Scupper too regularly. If I could give halves, I'd rate the Rusty Scupper 3.5/5. read more

Can't say enough good things about Rusty Scupper! This place can be dressed up or down depending on your occasion. I recommend coming during the day time so you can take advantage of the meal with a great view! The ambiance was absolutely perfect with a window view overlooking Baltimore Harbor. They have their own onsite parking garage for the restaurant so you don't have to worry about that. I ordered grilled pork chop with Brussels sprouts and it was striking! I'm not a big seafood guy but I tried the crab dip and might say I'm a partial fan of the ocean dwelling cuisine! read more

I called today to make a reservation for my family and I for Easter Sunday and was informed by Arielle and her manager that they can't accommodate parties bigger than 6 "because they can't overbook for the holidays"... Our party is 10, and we've dined at the Rusty Scupper for Easter Sunday 3 years. I asked if she could then seat us at different but adjacent tables and she said that wasn't a possibility and couldn't guarantee being near each other. We would still be paying customers, and we would take part in the brunch- I'm very unsure how this makes any sense and hearing this was very disheartening. We won't be returning here. I don't know where to begin.... I came here for the first time ever with my cousin who had made reservations ahead of time. We were in town to watch Hamilton later in the evening and she highly recommended dinner here. Wow!!!! It was a little busy but service was great. The food??? Holy cow! It was amazing. First of all, everything on the menu looked delicious and I wish I had a stomach to be able to try everything! What I did have, octopus, bread, Pinot Grigio, and crab stuffed shrimp, were to die for. I ordered the wedge salad with chicken, and it was served without chicken, it took the server a little bit of time to notice and then fix the omission. It was very cold, raining and the wind was so strong that it was knocking my 85 year old mother over. We asked if we could come in and stand in the lobby until our reservations. I enjoyed their Christmas Eve brunch buffet a few days ago, and I found the overall experience to be well worth the money. For $58 plus gratuity, my friends and I had bottomless mimosas and 90 minutes of access to a buffet that included prime rib, shrimp and grits, an omelette station, a dessert bar, and tons of other delicious entrees and sides. The highlight for me was the oyster bar where they shucked the oysters right in front of you. Everything I tried was tasty. The servers were very attentive and kind, and I loved the live music that was offered. The view was of course incredible. During Easter Weekend (yeah I know I'm late posting) there were breakfast and dinner options for the buffet. However their brunch is still top tier on any given Sunday! With its scenic views of the harbor, and bottomless drink options it's a delightful time for family and friends. There were so many food stations to choose from! Liz, our waitress, was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. My partner and I both ordered the King Crab Legs, which were the best I have ever had! The mashed potatoes and green beans were a great accompaniment. Looking over the water was so pleasant during dinner and it sounded like there was an in house pianist. Had dinner here a few nights ago and was not disappointed. The food and service was absolutely on point. I have never been a fan of octopus but the smoked octopus was out of this world good. The crab cakes were also amazing. My party had 14 people in it and the wait staff handled all of us and the additional tables without any issue. Superb restaurant on all levels. We received a warm greeting when we stepped in the door. We were seated at a fantastic table alongside the windows, affording an excellent panoramic view of Baltimore's Inner harbor. Our waiter Andrew was especially attentive and gave us excellent food recommendations. The octopus on the bed of hummus was one of the best appetizers I've ever had. My wife has some significant dietary restrictions, and Andrew was helpful in designing for her an extremely satisfying meal. Manager Trayvon checked in on us a few times and made us feel very welcome. I had been to the Rusty Scupper years ago, and always loved it, but its redesign and current level of cuisine are much enhanced. What a wonderful experience! I couldn't recommend it more. read more

Warm Butter Cake was amazing. Just had start with that! We actually had our destination wedding reception dinner here years ago and haven't been back since. This was mainly because we didn't think we miss anything because we simply didn't remember much. Maybe that's a feature they can figure out. Like how to make the evening memorable beyond the food but that's a side bar. We were sooo mistaken, the food was great the calamari was lightly breaded. The blackened salmon is a must have. I though I was going to regret not getting the smoked salmon but not at all it was flavored perfectly. The towers disappeared so fast we didn't even get photos. The only reason for no 5 stars is because they did not bring our salads for the entire table which is a HUGE oversight. read more

My wife and I were in town to celebrate with friends who were completing an epic journey of running a marathon and half marathon in all 50 states. The restaurant is located on the water, nice area. There is parking for a fee, within walking distance of the restaurant. Our waiter was great, he checked in frequently. The food was great, we ate everything. We ordered the crab cake and raw oysters for our appetizers, my boyfriend said the oysters were small but good. For our entrees we ordered the short rib and rock fish old bay style, both were delicious. My boyfriend had the chocolate cheesecake which was good and we had old fashions for our drinks. So of course i got the appetizer. -1 star only because it is cost prohibited at $29 (entree was $44 for comparison) But the taste was truly magnificent ... no filler at all. Only enough to hold the succelent crab together. So for me, worth the $ completely! I did truly enjoy the scallops (5 pieces). They were nice and big. The flavor profile reminded me of fall harvest with the nutty flavors combined with the grapes. The pace of service was excellent. Bread service within 5 min. My app 10 min later.
