The was suggested by someone on our Neighborhood. Great Chicken and was still hot when We got back to the house. We don't live far though. I ordered the mixed 8 piece and the French fry's. Came with 4 rolls. Two boys 12 and 13 a myself. We even had chicken left over and they didn't eat many fry's. Thanks I was very pleased and the service was with a smile. The girl that waited on me at the register apologized that it took so long. Lol it was fast I had placed her order when we were at the light on Court and HWY 123. She said she couldn't understand , they were usually slow on Saturday around 5 PM BUT they were really busy. So people do read these. But what puzzled me about my order was the menu stated 8 pc mix w/4 rolls and fry's 14.95 But I was charged 28$ I had ordered to go. I only ask why it was that much and was told because it was mixed. I didn't have time to really discuss the price That I saw on line. I had two very hungry young men and myself to feed. I had been ill and this was not a good time for me to stand and ask questions. I thought perhaps I had just miss understood. Today I was checking it out again and yes the menu read $11.95 8 pc dark plus a side and 4 rolls. The price for mix was$14.95 . An excellent little local chicken place that will blow away the chain stores. The food is all fresh and the portions are HUGE. I think the chicken strips are 1/2 a full size breast each. Staff is super friendly even when they are busy. The mashed potatoes are silky smooth, gravy excellent and the mac and cheese excellent (needed a bit of salt). Went thru drive thru and took home a tender meal and some gizzards. Gizzards were nice hot and fresh and gravy was good just not enough. Now to the tenders, which are actually whole tenderloins, pulled my first one it was hot and fresh, it was great, now the other 3 tenders were not nearly the same. Just a case of needing four tenders and only having 3 ready. The spicy tenders would be totally awesome if they were fresh. Otherwise they would be a five star. read more

We stopped here needing lunch while passing through Seguin traveling. We were very pleasantly surprised. We got the family catfish platter with 15 pieces of catfish, hush puppies, and 2 veggies. We had Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. It was delicious. Service was great. There are only a handful of tables and they were full so we sat outside but one of the waitresses came and checked on us several times and told us when a table opened up which was rather quickly. read more

I haven't had great luck with ordering catfish lately. It has to be cooked just right. Not too much oil and nice and flaky. I decided to give this place a try. And the fish was perfect. They provided me all the sauces i requested only lost one star because my plate was supposed to have hush puppies and they were not included. However the fried okra was delicious! Just beware the exit to the street from the drivethru is tricky. my honda civic got a little scraped up and i was being as careful as I could. read more

It is all takeout now, in the time of COVID, but their staff is friendly and efficient, the portions are huge, and it tastes great! I went to the rooster tonight and had never been there before. I was blown away at how fresh and crispy everything was, the corn nuggets and the mac & cheese are the best ever. Don't forget to get the ranch, it's homemade and delicious. They really don't mess around with how big the chicken tenders are though. Three of them will fill you up no problem. The only problem I have is that every time we call in an order, they butcher it, which leads to me having to wait on them to make some okra, or bake some more biscuits (and they always give us rolls after we ask for biscuits). Delicious, tried the location in Seguin and was absolutely the best catfish I have ever had. It was huge, light, flaky, seasoned perfect. I got the 5 piece family meal with hush puppies and fries, but could only eat two of the catfish filets because they were so huge. Their chicken is very good and fresh, but their catfish is my favorite. It's freshly fried, thick and juicy. Just check your box if you're taking it to go. I asked for fish and hushpuppies only, got a block away and thought to check. I went back and said, "You forgot my hushpuppies." She said,"No, I put them in there." I just stared at her, certain that there were no hushpuppies in the box. She turned around, and guess what? There were two hushpuppies in the fry basket. Their food is good, but I walk in at 8pm and order a 10 piece strips. They only have 8 cooked, tell me I have to get something else, don't even offer to cook more for me. AND THEY CLOSE AT 9PM!!!
