Only complaint I had is about the hostess. I was given a device to alert us when our table was ready, they said about 30 minutes so we decided to walk around. Once it went off we hurried back to the restaurant it took about a minute to get there and they gave our table away! - Very upsetting after waiting 30 minutes and you give it away within a minute? We arrived at 8:30am on a drizzly Saturday morning and were able to easily find a table for 4. The waiter informed us of their assorted coffee breads and seasonal drinks, which all looked delicious! I tried the wild berry coffee cake and their seasonal apple cider infused coffee, which was a good start. We ordered the corned beef hash, the Dungeness crab omelet, and the Swedish crepes, all of which were amazing. What a gem. If you are looking for a quaint, not gentrified, restaurant for lunch, the Rusty Pelican is your place. It's a comfortable place with booths, and a dessert counter by the register. My husband and I came to Edmunds to visit a friend and she recommended this spot! I was nervous to see they don't take reservations because we were coming around 10am on a Saturday. We were told it would only be a 20 min wait when we got there which wasn't bad at all! We strolled around the nearby farmer's market in the meantime and were seated as soon as we came back. I got a coffee and my husband and friend both got teas which were served in individual tea pots. The server brought a tray of coffee cakes out to ask if we wanted to start with any of those. It was hard to pass up, but I was a big fan of that presentation and am not surprised that they sell a ton of coffee cake here! This place serves breakfast all day and their menu is massive! They have every breakfast item you could ever want, all at reasonable prices. I really wanted to try their homemade lemon curd crepes. I like that you can order a half order or full order, but I felt like I wanted different breakfast foods with it as well. I ended up getting the #4 Combo which is a strawberry crepe, eggs, and bacon/sausage! They let me sub the strawberry crepe for the lemon curd one which was perfect! My husband ordered the country fried steak and my friend got the original eggs benedict. We couldn't believe how fast the food came out, it was probably only 10 mins after we ordered! Everything was delicious and exactly what we wanted. The lemon curd crepe was the move, that was one of the best crepes I've ever had. The lemon curd was sweet and tart, the crepe was light but still large and filling. Everyone loved their food! Service was excellent. From the customer service to the food to the ambience, this is one of the best brunches I've had since moving back to Washington State. Highlights: - The waitstaff. There is always someone floating around with water or coffee. At the beginning of our meal we were shown the special breads of the day. Our waitress was funny, matter-of-fact, and efficient. - The food. The biscuits are pillowy soft and huge (if you're into all things bread, you can't go go wrong with any of their baked goods). The Dungeness Crab Benedict was not stingy on the crab and well liked by my dining companion. My scramble was well executed, and another dining companion's potatoes were thin-cut deliciousness. - Ambience. Yes, it is busy. Yes, the wait can be long (thankfully for us it wasn't). But the interior design and farmhouse chic vibe just add to the quaint feel of the diners and downtown Edmonds. Eating outside on the sidewalk on a sunny summer morning just can't be beat. While we waited, people fawned over dogs and generally were in great spirits. I can't wait to return and try another special or another flavor of the baked goods they offer. They do use real maple syrup - so had to give a star for that. I think they try to make their own whip cream too. Despite being extremely busy service and food were quick! Get here early! We showed up not long after they opened on a Friday - and sat down immediately. It looked like there was a line by the time we left. Good location in downtown Edmonds. Service was really good. I had the Fiesta Skillet, which was very tasty. I loved the flavor of the chorizo inside, and I was impressed that it still came with a pancake on the side. Definitely a lot of food. The kids loved their breakfasts as well - the Chunky Monkey pancake was a hit for certain. We decided to dine in after walking around the Edmonds Farmers Market. What a convenient location! Interior does feel a bit compact on how many tables they placed in a small space. But it's a clean restaurant with cute decor & wallpaper. Servers were wonderful and the host graciously stored our stroller while we ate. The menu is humongous.. a bit overwhelming. I decided on the Avocado Supreme salad and it was pretty tasty. I didn't think it was worth $16 but their chicken salad tasted fresh and well seasoned. Avocado paired perfectly with it. Overall we had a great time. I wouldn't mind coming back to try something else. read more

Tim, our server, was terrific - one of the best servers I've ever had! Coffee was great. My crab Benedict was delicious, as was my sister's gyro. The only thing that could have been better was my mimosa. It was served with a glass full of ice, which does not work well with sparkling wine. Tim replaced the drink for me with no fuss, so that was nice. Note to mimosa lovers: if you order one, be sure to order it with no ice. Tables were crowded a bit too closely together for the post-COVID era, so it was noisy. Parking was challenging due to the farmer's market on the day we visited. Overall, my experience could have been better, but I will visit again to try other menu items. read more

Found this lovely cafe on a cloudy and rainy Sunday morning. What a wonderful ray of sunlight it was to our day. We were dealing with some disappointment due to one of our favorite places in Port Gamble being closed and not finding a place to sit in Kingston we decided to take the ferry ride to Edmonds and go to Edmonds Bakery, ooooppps, closed Sundays! So opened up Yelp and we found the Pelican. I had Farmers Skillet- large serving of breakfast potatoes with bacon, sausage, and cheese. A couple scrambled eggs on top and a side of two buttermilk pancakes. I was hungry but still couldn't finish the whole meal. The bacon and sausage were plentiful and tasty as was the cheese. The eggs were light, fluffy, and had fresh yellow color and an absence of oil or grease. The pancakes were light and tasty and a great side dish. My wife had the cinnamon swirl French toast and she gave it a very big thumbs up on taste and the fact that it was not mushy but toasty and even a bit crispy. She had a side of potatoes with bacon and cheese and although she normally likes crispy hash browns she enjoyed the flavor and texture of these breakfast spuds. We are looking forward to our next ferry ride and another meal opportunity at the Pelican. You should consider dropping in yourself. They have a great looking lunch menu as well. read more

Great little breakfast spot, such a cute place and the service was great. I ordered a Monte Cristo sandwich which was good but not great. I am still on the hunt to find one that I love as much as Disneyland's. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak which was absolutely delicious. I wanted to go back just so we could order that again but we ran out of time before we had to return to LA. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town. read more

And they only offer drip coffee?? No thanks. I'd give it 3.5 if that were an option. On the upside, there's a lot of food, which is well presented. The biscuits are excellent. One of our party loved the avocado toast with salmon and eggs. On the downside, the server pushing an appetizer tray of coffee cake seems just that--pushy. The tray might've looked better if there already were coffee on the table; it was a very long wait for a simple cup of regular coffee to arrive. Amazing! Heard of this place a hundred times and finally got a chance to check it out this past weekend. We got a table outside right away even though it was pretty busy. Tim, our server, was a delight. He made us feel super welcomed and attended to. Coffee was delicious (I got the German chocolate). I have been to the Woodinville location many times for brunch, but was meeting a friend for lunch in Edmonds and pleased to discover there's a Rusty Pelican and it has a lunch menu! The brunch menu is available, but the lunch menu features quite a few really nice salads so do take a look. The salad I ordered was topped with grilled chicken and filled with crispy greens, pecans, and ripe, delicious fruit. I got the large and it was exactly the right size for an entree. My friend's salad was also superb - hers came topped with salmon. There's a really nice dessert assortment and I like how they bring it to the table on a tray so you can see your choices. Right away she brought complimentary bread and butter which was delicious along with lovely drip coffee... (my only nitpick was that asked for heated cream and didn't get it).. Ordered Avocado Toast and replaced the scrambled egg with a fried egg, oh my.... Right from the toast itself and heaps of avocado to the egg, it was fresh and delicious... So apparently I will have to make the 1 hour trek to edmonds on a regular basis just so I can try everything on this menu! I'm what they call vertically challenged and on top of that I'm mistaken as a teenage if I wear a back pack. In short.. I'm tiny. But live to eat so we ordered a bit of stuff of the menu to give us a general idea and I can honestly say I was not disappointed with the flavor, the portion, the service and how the staff all worked really well together and as a team, the drinks or anything else we ordered. Put in Edmonds for an appt so stopped here to eat. I'm glad we did. It's a small place but it was later in the day on a weekday so there wasn't a wait. The bread is without question the best thing there. The crepes and the scramble were good. But the bread!!!! I would love to go back and try their sandwiches. Visited the Edmonds location. I'm told there is one in Mill Creek. The food here is amazing. I had the eggs bene. I ate it so quickly I forgot to snap a picture of it was I posed on my porcelain plate like a front-runner movie star before entering the Oscars. The P is an early morning celebration for your the wide open spaces between your rows of teeth. Usually packed with "farm heads" locals fearing on rooster crow staples and some seafood surprises and freshly squeeze this and that liquids. Be so lucky to have Tim Tally serve you. Not handicapped friendly. Only a few tables that can accommodate a wheelchair. On busy days, the wait for accessible seating can take hours, while other groups of diners come and go, come and go. In a neighborhood with a high percentage of diners are over the age of 70, this can really present a problem regarding those with special needs. Unnecessarily hurt feelings and unhappy customers result. It's not just my family who struggles here.
