Rustic Knead is an absolute gem in Lemont! The bacon, egg & cheese sandwich was next-level amazing--crispy bacon, fluffy eggs, melty cheese, and perfectly toasted bread that had me wishing I ordered two. The spicy egg torta was just as impressive--flavorful, bold, and the kind of sandwich you think about hours later (no shame if I already am ). Their coffee and tea selection deserves its own shoutout--so many options, and everything I tried was smooth and comforting, exactly what you want with a killer breakfast sandwich. The vibe is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a casual morning hangout or grabbing something hearty before tackling the day. Will definitely be back. Rustic Knead has officially become one of my go-to breakfast spots in the area

Was looking for a new sandwich place to try. Bread is good. Sandwiches were ok. A nice option to the traditional places

I came to Rustic Knead with two friends after hearing great things about it. I thought it was going to be like Panera, and while you could say the concepts are a bit similar (soups, salads, and sandwiches), the execution is were the two totally differ. Rustic Knead is a very spacious place, with lots of different seating available. You go up to the counter and place your order as they make the sandwich in front of you. Absolutely love that because you get to see all the fresh ingredients being used. I ordered the Club Med; chicken, European feta cheese, red pepper hummus, cucumber, vine tomato, avocado, red onion, baby arugula. To be honest, I am not sure what bread my sandwich was made on but it was good. It had a very crusty exterior and fluffy interior. The sandwich was very big; I definitely had to save half for later. The components of the sandwich were all very flavorful, and the difference in textures among them added a nice contrast between each bite. Rustic Knead is a very solid place to get lunch. I would highly recommend it!

I finally got the chance to try this place and I've been back 2xs in 2 weeks. I literally want to try all their sandwiches!! There's so many options to pick from and I love that they use fresh, clean products, and slice the meat right in front of you. Ive had both the caprese sandwich and the Cobb and my only complaint would be that I wished they offered to toast the caprese. I think melted mozzarella would've put the sandwich over the edge for me- and it was already good cold. I have yet to try their soups or salads, maybe on my next visit. I haven't gotten there early enough to see all their baked goods. I usually make it after 12 and by then, it's slim pickings for pastries. I'm not sure if I missed the baked bread- like sour dough and their baguette on my first visit, but I noticed it today. They all look very good and I'll have to pick up a loaf next time. Today I just went with slices rustic white bread which my family enjoyed. Cant wait to try more sandwiches. Glad I found this place....

Chicken and Gouda sandwich

Great quality all around. Highlander's breakfast sandwich, smoked salmon, Parma, turkey and chicken and Gouda sandwiches fantastic! Fast service and great coffee. Affordable prices which makes this place 6 stars out of 5 stars!!

Spicy Chorizo Egg Sandwich on Gluten Free Bread

Got breakfast. I had the spicy chorizo egg sandwich on gluten free bread. Bread was excellent. Very soft. About a 5 minute wait in line so no biggie there. Plenty of seating. Very open. Bought a loaf of bread while there and looking forward to it. Excellent experience.

Pre-holiday breakfast!

The food is some of the best in the area but unfortunately staff is sometimes in a bad mood. Kinda kills it for me.

I've been a regular customer at this bakery for a long time -- my son loves their cookies, and I've…read morespent hundreds of dollars here over time. But my recent experience ordering a custom cake for my husband's 40th birthday was so disappointing that I feel obligated to warn others. I ordered a two-tier custom cake for nearly $400, plus two dozen mini cupcakes for $110, bringing my total close to $500. For comparison: * Most privately owned bakeries charge around $200-$350 for a two-tier custom cake depending on complexity. * Mini cupcakes typically cost $20-$50 per 24, even from gourmet bakeries. So I paid premium pricing, and I expected premium quality. Unfortunately, that's not what I received. Design Issues The cake did not resemble the inspiration photos we discussed. I asked for a deep, elegant green with blended transitions -- something fitting for an adult's 40th birthday theme. Instead, the cake looked more like a Minecraft or Ninja Turtle cake with bright neon green, flat colors, and no blending. When I brought up the design issue, the owner blamed me, saying the buttercream "needs to sit out for 4-5 hours to darken." The cake did sit out for almost 5 hours, and the color never changed. It wasn't even close to the shade I requested. The explanation didn't make sense, and it felt like I was being blamed for something that was simply a design mistake. Quality Issues: Undercooked Cake When we cut the top tier at the party, we discovered: * an unusually thick 2-inch layer of frosting in the middle, * and a raw, floury, undercooked interior. The texture and aftertaste confirmed it wasn't baked through. We ended up throwing away the entire top tier and whatever was left over at the end of the night. This is more than disappointing -- it's a food safety concern. Customer Service & Tone This was honestly the most frustrating part. When I reached out to discuss what went wrong, the owner's tone was polite on the surface, but the conversation felt passive-aggressive, full of constant rebuttals, and completely lacking in accountability. Every single concern I raised was met with: * an excuse, * a deflection, * or a technical explanation that didn't match my actual experience. There was zero acknowledgment that anything might have been done incorrectly. She repeatedly mentioned things like: * "I didn't charge you for the little decorative balls -- those were free," * "I didn't charge you for the cake topper, it was $3.99," which felt unnecessarily frugal and honestly strange considering I spent almost $500 there. Mentioning $3.99 repeatedly after charging me hundreds of dollars made the whole interaction feel awkward and unprofessional. She also offered me a few free cookies -- but only if I used them this year because she "couldn't move the gift card into the next year due to accounting." I didn't want cookies. I wanted a partial refund, which was the only fair resolution. She immediately shut that down and said she "couldn't do that because of policy," even though she is the owner who sets the policies. There was no room for discussion, no willingness to listen, and no genuine concern for the customer experience. Overall For nearly $500, I received: * a cake that didn't match the design, * colors that were incorrect, * an undercooked top tier, * and a customer service experience that was rigid, dismissive, and full of excuses. I don't post negative reviews lightly, but this was extremely poor value for the price, and the lack of accountability afterward made the situation far worse. I hope this bakery takes this feedback seriously and improves both quality control and how they handle issues when they arise.

The buttercream was not sweet at all, which I really enjoyed. The cake itself was moist and cooked perfectly. My fiancé also enjoyed it. We also tried the m&m cookie and that had a lot of m&m's inside and was sweeter than the cupcake but also very good. It's a cute store and very clean.

My procrastinating self was scrambling to find a bakery that would be able to fulfill my wishes. Unfortunately, because I had waited so late to put in an order, the soonest they'd be able to fill my order would be Tuesday of next week. Seeing my desperation, the woman who was working there quickly thought of another alternative- she happened to have extra mini cupcakes from a recent previous order that she could have decorated and ready for me to pickup later that day. I went in that same afternoon to pick them up and was absolutely thrilled with the result. I cannot thank Artesa bakery enough for not letting me walk away empty handed. Her small gesture meant the world to me in that moment. I am confident I will be back again for future orders : ) PS- I bought 6 caramel and pistachio macarons to go and they were AmAzInG.

Anyone who reads my reviews knows I can't resist anything colored blue, purple or red, so I had to know what was up. Imagine my surprise when I discovered by blue hypnosis was due to Hpnotiq cupcakes! You read that correctly: BLUE cupcakes made with and tasted like Hpnotiq. And, yes, you could get a buzz. Well, you know I had to have one. Or, 8. Tracey, the owner, is rightfully proud of her product and after we got to talking how I was going to be her new best friend/stalker, she made sure I left with a small box of the baked goods. Lest you think, however, that I am not klassy and only fall head over heels for blue treats, I'll have you know that I gorged on: cognac, amaretto, apple martini (GREEN with apple bits on the inside!), and strawberry margarita (keep me near the cross; these made me go on a mama-slapping rampage that was only quieted by passing out from the sheer rip-your-clothes-off goodness at eating a strawberry cake, topped with berry/tequila frosting and filled with boozy berries treat).
