    Jerk corned beef

This hidden Gem is amazing!!! I see why it's called "hideout". It's literally hidden away in a community. Seems like you are driving to a house but then you see it hidden in a community center. So glad we heard about this place and decided to try it out. Corned beef was so delicious!! We got 1 original with brown mustard and 1 jerk. Both on original bread. They had so much flavor and the jerk was spicy. But enjoyable to us. They were packed with meat. Can't wait to go back and try the other corned beef sandwiches. Definitely didn't disappoint. Very friendly ladies as well.

Excellent Sandwich. I had the two face jerk. I have to say it was a really good sandwich and the jerk sauce had a nice bit of heat. I also had a side of coleslaw with was reminiscent of KFC. great place for corned beef and pastrami, together it's called two faced. Comes with chips and a few slices of pickle in a little container. The sandwich , side of slaw and a bottle of water is just over $25.00 there is a lot of meat on it for the price. i did not try the Filberts line of soda they carry. Filberts is from the south side of chicago. I hear the root beer was very good. Trying to find this place is another matter, tucked back in like an apartment/duplex subdivision. I think it's in like a huge community center. We used gps to find our way. Nice people and delicious sandwiches.

The food is spectacular, the service spot on. We love the place and come as often as we can, which is not enough in my book. It IS in a gym setting and there are no signs to expect as if you were going to see it in a strip mall. There are a few tables and chairs in the lobby.

Restaurant inside Highpoint community center. Nice place. Nice people.

Stopped in today, Thursday 6/20. I haven't met any food from here that I didn't like. EVER! India is as sweet as always. She's a dear lady, come by and patronize her. Because it's one of a kind mom and pop shop. I am partial to The Jerk sandwich, however. And it's pretty special. 5 stars food and service! You know what to do. Stop in, your tastebuds will be happy and your tummy will smile.

I found this place off Yelp. It's located in a building between a gym and post office. I wasn't planning on staying too long so I parked in that big lot to the left of the building. I took a picture of it. Prices for the sandwiches range from $13.50 - 16.50. That's without tax. The sandwiches come with a bag of chips and some pickles. I ordered a side of macaroni salad for $3 and a bottle of water for $1. It's about $20 for all of this. $22 after taxes. You can blame Romeoville and Illinois for the extra taxes. I believe it's like 1 lb of meat. It was convenient for me since I ate half before the gym and the other half afterwards along with the sides. The only downside is coming here if you're coming from afar due to all of those semi trucks slowing down traffic on the tollway. Other than that, I ordered the two faced - corned beef and pastrami. The meat was freshly sliced and prepared. It wasn't dry, very moist. The yellow mustard amplified the taste. There are plenty of seating inside and outside. Service was friendly. You have to fill out your order on a piece of paper then hand it to them. Next time, if I'm in the mood for a good pastrami sandwich I'll come back. It's difficult to find good pastrami/corned beef sandwich places with that generous amount of meat.

I stopped by The Corned Beef Hideout today and am I ever happy I did! I ordered a turkey sandwich, a classic corned beef and a jerked corned beef sandwich. The sandwiches came with chips and pickle slices and we sided it up with cole slaw and macaroni salad. OMG! I have NEVER had a jerked corned beef sandwich but it will not be my last, and only from this location. The service was wonderful, the location is quaint, and the food is absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh the jerk, corned beef sandwich had heat, not too much but enough to make your tongue tingle. I will definitely be back and I suggest you go.

Spotted this hideout when I was out running errands in a new city. My mom and I ordered "that jerk", the jerk corned beef sandwich and beignets. The sandwich was AMAZING! So glad we split it because the portion sizes are huge! The service was great and India was friendly. Will definitely come back next time I'm in the area. It's located in an apartment complex but don't that deter you from stopping in.

I see they have Rueben's which have 1000 island dressing but the menu does not specify that you can order a sandwich with it, only mustard or plain. Am I missing something here?

I'd call there for the answer. It's worth it!

The meatballs were delicious, the sauce actually was very good and I don't even like mushrooms at all. The second item I got was the meat filled dumplings, and those were really good. They were actually a lot better than I thought they would be. The third item I tried was the smoked Polish sausage. I will be honest, this was not my favorite. It was not bad, but the flavor on it I did not like as much as other Polish places I've tried. I definitely want to go back and try their cabbage and noodles and pigs in a blanket. They also have desserts that I will have to try as well. They do sell sandwiches, Chicago style hotdogs, and have a small grocery store inside.

However, this place is kind of tucked away so it wasn't busy at all in the afternoon. The outside of the building just says Deli. If you like Polish food, you'll love it here. I read some people exaggerating about the wait times. It does not take long for them to help you. Like Jewel or Mariano's, they're not going to slice your meat in 10 seconds if that's what you're hoping for. Btw the staff was nice. I think the Karen's that complain about them being rude are not very cultured and only know American culture. I ordered the signature pastrami sandwich for $10.99 and it was a very generous portion size. She put a ton of meat in it. The pastrami wasn't tough, it was fresh and soft. Honestly, I had Katz's in NY and this was a really great pastrami sandwich. I also got a large cannoli and meat pierogis. The cannoli was delicious. The pierogis were good but I like to have softer skin. The meat filling was fine but the outside was a bit too tough. I've been to a number of Polish restaurants and they usually make the skins very soft to cut. I would rate these pierogis like a 4. Overall, it's about a 4.5. Prices were very cheap. I got everything for $20. I will definitely return to try more items.

Took almost 30 minutes to get my beef. Understandable on the wait time, though. But my only complaint is that the order was wrong. I ordered "dipped" beef and sandwich came with its ticket saying "easy dipped". So it was still on the dryer side inside. Also I ordered cheddar cheese, and it had mozzarella on it instead. (Ticket said "mozzarella" too) Cry me a river, I know. But order accuracy needs a little improvement. Great outstanding food!
