After some wine tasting we decided to stop at one of our favorite pizza spots. We ordered the combo and the breadsticks. The service here was fast and they always checked on us. Plenty of indoor seating.

We ordered this to-go, so I can't comment much on the service or ambiance inside the restaurant, but the service for delivery was great and timely. We ordered: - 11" Medium Margherita Pizza - The Margherita pizza was solid. With the mozzarella cheese, basil leaves and tomato slices, it was delicious. - Italian Breadsticks (No Mozzarella) - Not a fan. I found these to be a bit on the drier side and not very flavorful. I wish we have gotten the Cheesy Italian Breadsticks with the mozzerella. They came with the option to choose two dips, which we chose the marinara sauce and ranch. One thing I liked was that if you don't like any of the pizza options, you can build your own pizza pretty easily. Overall, I would definitely be back in the future to try other items from the menu.

What a find this place was! First time here and will definitely be back again! A group of four of us came on in on a Thursday, early evening, found a spot to sit, and ordered at the counter. Really great vibes inside with multiple seating options...loved the decor too! We opted for a comfy booth with a TV built in the wall area. Ordered was a delish bbq chicken pizza, fantastic breadsticks with dipping sauces, a tasty flatbread wrap, and the biggest medium sized salad ever! It was plenty for us all, and we took a lot home. Also ordered was a kids one- topping pizza that came with a scoop of gelato, and a drink- super cool! The servers, cashiers, and Manager were all friendly, attentive, and accommodating. This was a perfect stop on the way home from the coast, and we were all super satisfied!

The pizza is so bomb. This was our first time near our hotel & the customer service was amazing. Super helpful & would definitely come back.

Great food, great service and wonderful atmosphere. They must have gone through a complete makeover ever since I was here last time. New delicious menu, great beer and wine selections, and they have gelato!!! Many customers gone for gelato after they're done with dinner, including myself. It is a perfect setting! I really enjoyed my chocolate cookie with cafe latte gelato. Pizza and flatbread sandwich were delicious, super tasty with tons of flavors. I was already contemplating what to order when we come back next, like tomorrow. Hope you'll get to try Rustic Fire too!

Service is friendly. You bring your number to your table after you order. Pizzas were amazing. Wonderful crust, sauce, and toppings. I really enjoyed the breadsticks with buffalo chicken. They brought us extra ranch as well.

Stayed across the street at Adelaide Inn and came across this pizza place that was so good! The service was fast and they were very helpful with suggestions. Definitely recommend the buffalo chicken cheese bread (you have to ask, not on menu). The pizza was good and we ended with their gelato.

Nice pit stop on our way to Pismo. Clean and spacious inside. The parking lot is shared with several neighboring business. Ordered a medium pepperoni and fresh jalapeño pizza. The crust was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Great pizza sauce flavor. A great selection of local wines and beers along with tasty treats like cookies and gelato. The customer service was on point. Very nice and helpful. Will definitely stop by again soon.

Came in before the crowds arrived. Service was great and the food was excellent. Salid was fresh and plentiful. Got a medium thick crust pizza, plenty for two. Food was great and the staff was friendly. A nice find.

Here's how your breakdown lines up: Burger (main miss) --frozen patty, no crust, unmelted cheese, weak sauce--usually means: * Pre-formed frozen beef puck (not fresh ground) * Cooked on a grill instead of a ripping-hot flat top (so no smash crust or Maillard flavor) * Cheese added too late or heat too low to melt it properly * Sauce under-portioned or used as a light spread instead of a flavor layer Result: bland, dry, and flat tasting burger Mac & cheese That "pasta + runny cheese water" texture is a classic sign of: * Pre-boiled pasta sitting in liquid * Cheese sauce broken or watered down * Very little actual cheese base (often just milk + starch + seasoning) So yeah--more "pasta dish" than mac & cheese. Salad (surprisingly the win) Good olive oil + vinaigrette can carry a salad hard. That's usually the only thing that doesn't rely on heavy kitchen execution, so it makes sense it stood out. Fries (another win) Crispy, salted fries usually come from: * Proper double fry or high-temp fry oil * Frozen fries done correctly (ironically, frozen can still be great if cooked right) Pulled pork Cheap BBQ sauce + pre-cooked pork is pretty standard for mid-tier spots. Not amazing, but at least it has flavor, unlike the burger. Beer Hard to mess up--good call there. Overall read of the place This is the vibe I'm getting: * Strengths: fryer, sauces (salad dressing), bar program * Weaknesses: grill station, mac & cheese, burger execution * Kitchen style: "assembly + reheating" more than scratch cooking

Tucked away on a back street in Paso lies this interesting and very amazing venue. I would have never imagined in my wildest dreams going to a place like this, let alone what was inside. To be honest, I at first felt like I was entering the twilight zone, the first time I came here. In the back of my mind, I was thinking, " Is this what it felt like going to something like this during prohibition times? Now, in this post, I will not share all about your entrance, etc., into this place, as that takes the fun out of it, but I must add that if you are in the Paso area, this is a must on your list. Everyone from the hostess, the servers, and the bartenders were super kind. We both got the Short Rib Jalapeño burger, hers was lettuce wrapped. We got side salads instead of fries, she got french onion soup and I got the chili. To start off the salads were good, nothing special but not bad at all. The chili was exceptional, very good flavor, meaty with chunks of ribeye, and a ton of cheese and red onions just how I like it. The French Onion soup was delicious, covered in cheese, and very rich. Now the burgers.....they were phenomenal tbh. The cheese was so melty and mixed with the aioli so nicely plus a little kick from the jalapeño. The patty was cooked nicely leaving it juicy, and the short rib on top was perfect. I would come back for this burger! They have some fun cocktails too, we both got a smoked maple old fashioned. On my first visit (evening), we walked in without a reservation and were quickly seated at the last available table. The place had a lively atmosphere, and it looked like part of the space turns into more of a dance floor later in the night. I had the French onion soup, raw oysters, and the pot pie, all of which were good. The pot pie in particular is something I would recommend. This most recent visit was for lunch on a weekday. There were plenty of open tables, and we were seated right away. Parking was easy, which is typical outside of busy weekends. The experience this time around was more mixed. We wanted to order oysters Rockefeller, but they were completely out of oysters, which was disappointing. I ordered a black and tan, which tasted fine, but it came with a design on top that I wasn't expecting. Not a big deal, just different from what I had in mind. For food, my girlfriend ordered the blackened salmon and said it was good. I went with the corned beef and cabbage. The corned beef itself was flavorful and served over mashed potatoes, which were well done. The cabbage, though, wasn't what I expected. Instead of a more traditional preparation, it was grilled with char marks and topped with au jus. The texture came out a bit rubbery and didn't really absorb the flavor well, which made that part of the dish underwhelming. Service was okay but not great. My water ran empty at one point, and I had to ask for a refill. We also ordered boneless wings as an appetizer and asked for extra ranch, which didn't come out until we reminded the server. The biggest issue, though, was something I noticed from our table with a partial view into the kitchen. An employee had their shoe up on a shelf that appeared to be holding clean dishes, which didn't come across as sanitary. I also saw food being adjusted on a plate by someone who didn't appear to be the cook. I can't speak to what's happening behind the scenes in terms of handwashing or procedures, but visually, it raised concerns. That part of the experience honestly left a bad impression. Between that, the missed items, and some inconsistencies with the food, it changed how I feel about coming back. My first visit had me excited to return, but after this one, I'm not sure I would.

The town was hosting live music at the plaza across the street so we sat outside facing the plaza. It was a great way to enjoy our meal! The place was pretty packed because of the World Cup going on (Mexico vs Korea) so I understand why our server was a bit slow. She was handling tables inside and outside but keep in mind when it gets busy you may wait a bit longer for things. I ordered "The Steak" which is a hangar steak with a compound butter on top and Brussels sprouts on the side, I subbed potatoes for coleslaw. The steak was cooked nicely and had a great crust on the outside, very flavorful with just the right amount of saltiness. The Brussels were some of the best I've had even though they were so simple. I ate every last one! The slaw was ok but not a ton of flavor, it was pretty light on the sauce. We also got an order of bacon wrapped jalapeños with cilantro ranch. They were so good! We destroyed them in seconds while burning our tongues on the lava-like cheese. Worth it!

November 2025 Since…read moreI gave such a stellar review of the Bacon Crusted Burger at Street Side Ale House, I must update the comments since people do go to restaurants based on other's reviews. And I am so embarrassed to have recommended this restaurant to dozens of people. We raved to our friends about this place and this burger in particular. So, when we traveled with them to Paso Robles this week, we took them there on Thursday night. We passed on having the Wagyu 8 oz. burger and fries at In Bloom (Michelin listed) the night before in anticipation of this burger. Service was abysmal. We sat for quite some time with no service. My wife went in and asked where our server was? Finally, a woman showed up and said our waiter would be with us shortly. Sometime later, a friendly waiter arrived. He was obviously new, under-trained, and spread too thin. He was very personable, but our drinks sat on the bar for a long time and my wife had to go in and ask if she could take then. "No, the waiter will bring them out." Meanwhile, our friends were sipping on their drinks. We got our appetizers and then ordered our meals. The food came quickly, maybe too quickly, and I noticed no egg yolk oozing out (it was halved for us in the kitchen) and the burger overall was much thinner than the last time and the arugula was so wet under the patty. So, we ate a couple bites of it and it just did not taste right. I opened it up to find a baked or boiled grey patty with no crispy bacon wrapping. The bacon was soft, I mean boiled soft and was a small lump on top of the burger patty, not even close to crispy. More like a damp towel. The avocado was sliced but not spread out, so stuck on the left side. The egg was hard cooked with a solid yolk. No pepper to be found. I showed the waiter who was stunned. He thought we were kidding. The manger came out, looked at it, asked what we wanted to do. I was a bit surprised given the wreck that this burger was and said I don't know, what do you want to do? He said the chef wasn't there but took the plate back to the kitchen. He came back and said the chef (wait, he wasn't there) was surprised and said it was not right. The chef (if he was there) should have headed straight out to us and apologized. So, the manager took the burger off the bill but left the same horrible burger ($22) on our friend's bill. I should not have to tell a manager how to fix such a mess and disaster of a meal and service. I hope they fix their kitchen, whoever is checking food at the pass, and the service or they will be another casualty to the restaurant business in Paso. Sorry I had to write this as I rarely post negative reviews in order to not hurt a business and their employees.
