Some of the best pizza I've had in a long time. We had a group of 8, and ordered 4 pizzas. They were all good. The crust was incredible: the perfect chewy, crispy Napolitano-style. I really enjoyed the truffle cacio e pepe, and honestly don't even remember which others we ordered, but they were all great. We also had the Nutella and strawberry dessert pizza, which I did not expect to like, and it was fantastic. Not too sweet, which I was afraid of. Just the right amount. We can describe this place in two words: Holy. Moly. We heard about this pizza restaurant from a podcast called, "Up + Adam" hosted by Adam Montiel. Adam interviewed the owner, Marino Monferrato and his wife Michelle. Being locals, we decided to go on a date night and see if it lived up to the interview. Our date started off with our server, Elias. It was TOP. NOTCH. from the beginning allll the way through to the end...which ended with a handshake from Marino himself. We rarely go to a restaurant that starts off fantastic and ends fantastic. Everyone involved in our food preparation and delivery were amazing. The salad, pizza, dessert and vino were all so wonderful. Everything paired perfectly. But, for us, not only is it all about the food, it's the human interaction that sets a place apart. Tucked into the Market Walk is a not so new, little pizza spot that feels like a tiny passport stamp to Italy. This small, Neapolitan-style pizzeria serves up ultra-thin crust pies with top-notch ingredients, the kind where every bite is simple, fresh, and perfectly balanced. The crust deserves its own applause. It comes out of that beautiful, blazing-hot oven perfectly crisp, with small air bubbles and those signature charred black spots that tell you it was cooked at a very high temperature, just the way true Neapolitan pizza should be. The owner Marino, welcomed us in like old friends and even stopped by the table to chat, which gave the whole evening a warm, personal touch. You can see the impressive pizza oven working its magic, and the wine list is just as impressive as the food. I ordered a rosé Prosecco (pictured), and it was absolutely delicious. My daughter and I shared a pizza by the name of Diavola (meaning devilish in Italian - referencing its spicy kick) similar to a pepperoni, but with its proper Italian name from the menu--classic, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. We were very full after our slices of pizza, one pizza is large enough for two or three people I'd say. We had leftovers. This place is a true little gem in Paso Robles. If you're looking for just a touch of Italy without leaving town, this spot delivers authentic flavors, friendly service, and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Also, a cool option is to take home a bake your own Margherita style pizza and it's perfectly sized for one or two...a great option for singles and the kids after school snack!! I was craving pizza and decided to try La Biga. It has been in my list for a while now. La Biga is located in Paso Robles Market Walk. I got a pepperoni pizza and took it home. It was done pretty quick as it is cooked in a brick over. The dough was fluffy but thin. It was cooked perfectly. Everything was fresh and even after traveling it still was really good. Definitely recommend if you are looking for higher quality pizza. read more

I had been eyeing La Biga as the #1 priority stop when we visited Paso Robles. Fortunately, it was right underneath our hotel so we didn't have to travel far after arriving. And thank the heavens because I was exhausted. La Biga is just off to the side of the food marketplace/hall with an interesting restaurant layout (it's a go there and see what I mean situation). We sat at our own little bar of which they have two that aren't interconnected. You can see them making everything, and it is a completely open kitchen area. You can even see the bags of flour that they have sourced. Onto the pizza. This pizza is exactly how the Italians do it. Piping hot with a bubbly, chewy crust but super thin in the middle. Everyone knows my favorite part is the crust which I like to have a little bit of chew (dough) but also be bubbly with the undercarriage char that only a 500 degree pizza oven can offer. This crust did just that. The inner crispy part of the pizza held the toppings (ours was just cheese) so well. No sliding off. This pizza also feels really light and not oily, which my body always appreciates. I fell asleep quickly after in sweet pizza dreams. read more

We came to La Biga for our 24th anniversary after a local recommendation, and it did not disappoint! The pizza is unlike anything else. Incredibly light, airy, and packed with flavor. I got the Diavola and it was amazing. My wife had a truffle pizza that she loved. To top it off, Marino and Antonio were very friendly and extremely nice, making us feel right at home. Well, if this wasn't the closest thing to transport me back to Italy since 2019, I don't know what is. Marino and his wife Michelle were so inviting, funny and helpful. I forget the names of the pizzas but one had a fig glaze and burrata, and I believe the other was buffalo mozzarella, arugula and prosciutto. It was our first time trying this pizza restaurant. We used to go there before when it was called Via Caravaggio. They use the same pizza oven which cooks a pizza in 90 seconds. The pizza we got was a little bit too salty because of the large quantity of Cotto prosciutto but the crust and all the ingredients are of high quality so we'll go back and try another pizza next time. Thus, I am re-rating this establishment a 4 to 5 and will definitely try his pizza again when my wife and I travel through Paso Robles next time. How do you ruin a to-go pizza? Let it sit on the counter for 10 minutes while your staff makes yours and two other guests' Ceasar Salad. A "hot" Pizza waiting on three cold salads. A two mile trip home and a dead cold pizza. The pizza here is literally the best pizza my husband and I have ever had in our lives, and we live in LA and have spent a good amount of time in Italy. We felt the love for the pizza BEFORE we realized that the owner, Marino, helped found Eataly in Los Angeles and is the maitre d' for Gordon Ramsey's TV show, Hells Kitchen. He is the real deal and so is the pizza...and we loved him and his warm and funny personality. We've been wanting to try this place since we first heard about it, and it exceeded our expectations. As we travel to Italy frequently, it's a bit difficult for us to enjoy pizza that's not authentically Italian. Well this place IS definitely authentic, especially the pizza crust which is just delicious, and you can tell they are using all high quality ingredients. And despite having a few offerings with toppings I haven't seen before in Italy (like butternut squash), it all works wonderfully because of these ingredients. The flavors of the two pizzas we tried, La Siciliana and La Zucca, were both sooo good. I even had a pleasant chat in Italian with one of the owners, Antonio, to let him know how much we enjoyed their pizza. So great to finally have a true Italian style pizza in North County. Up until now, our favorite pizza came from Flour House in SLO, but this is easily on par with them. Of course we'll definitely be back. Grande ragazzi! read more

Plan to dine in next time, as the staff seemed so friendly and welcoming. Also, the place shimmers and sparkles with cleanliness and is beautifully appointed inside. But I'll happily drive here for take-out from now on, even though it's not in my town.
