I enjoy good falafel, but this had to be the worst we have ever eaten. I question if this was made from chickpeas. Good falafel should have a crisp texture, but this version was soft and tasteless. Can't rate their other dishes, but if it was like the one we ordered it would be as bad. One of THE BEST mediterranean restaurants I've ever eaten at. We stumbled upon this place while looking for a casual dinner in downtown Paso Robles. Most of the restaurants have extremely long wait times and are more steak and wine bar vibes than what we were looking for. This was meant to be. We walked in and beat the dinner rush. For starters, french fries (because my husband orders them everywhere), mozzarella sticks (not mediterranean, just comfort food. LOL), and a greek salad to share. For entrees, chicken shawarma platter, mixed grill platter (lamb, beef, chicken kebabs), and kofta kebab - the platters are jam packed with flavors, comes with rice, pita, hummus, roasted veggies, and cucumber/tomato salad. Their food here is really really good. Great bang for your buck as well. One of the more affordable options in Paso Robles. Another highlight is their self serve condiment bar - onions with sumac, pickled turnip, garlic sauce, spicy garlic sauce, pickles, and tahini. Self serve GARLIC SAUCE? This place is bright, clean, with plenty of seating. You walk up to order. Get a number, sit down, then wait for your food. When I came it was lunchtime and from ordering to getting my food it took 25 min. The staff was nice but that day seemed overwhelmed. They have a condiment bar. It wasn't my favorite tzatziki because it had mint in it. The veggie salad had zucchini, onion, red pepper, feta, salad. My family ordered different items from their menu , I had the grilled lamb it was very good also ordered the chicken Souvlaki it was pretty salty a little too much for me. The Baba Ghanoush is smoky and tasty , hummus very good the pita bread was warm and soft , falafel was good . We waited a little longer than what the delivery site said it would take to get it . Located slightly on the outskirts of downtown Paso is this great Greek influenced Mediterranean restaurant. The food is as pictured - fresh, vibrant, made to order. We were the only patrons so it was nice to have the space to ourselves. There was nothing short of flavor as we demolished our plates - every single one of us!! What I appreciated was a self service bar for garlic paste, onions / parsley, pickles, and other compliments for our dishes. Water was readily available, also at the self service station. Fresh and crispy romaine lettuce, plenty of tomatoes, red onion, cucumbers and some pitted olives & cubed feta cheese. The dressing was quite tasty. The pizza was good, plenty of cheese and good pepperoni coverage. I enjoyed my dinner $30 bucks is the going price these days. Vegan review- tried their vegan falafel sandwich. It's actually a wrap filled with falafel, tahini and hummus and veggies and then grilled to perfection. The dolmas are fresh and subtly minty, resting atop and delicately soaked in a silky, lemon-infused marinade that's addictively good. Their beef, lamb, and chicken dishes are always fresh, tender, well-seasoned and beautifully presented. Rice, veggies, and sauces are all freshly made and delicious. Free refills on fountain drinks. SO happy to have these folks open in Paso, with so few Mediterranean options nearby. I can't speak to service or ambiance, as my husband grabbed us take-out. He had a choose-your-own small (10-inch) pizza with bacon, sausage, white sauce, and basil. He loved it- absolutely delicious and flavorful, and toppings were perfectly distributed/portioned. Total winner. I opted for a gyros plate with extra meat (I was hungry.... naturally, finished about half, oops), which I was thrilled with. They are making their own gyros shaved off a spit (NOT the pre-fab Sodexo gyros that every other local place seems to use, which I am so happy to see), hummus, tzatziki (super rich and creamy), and pita. The rice was spiced to perfection with some really nice aromatics, and the tomato/cucumber salad on the side was a perfect fresh, slightly acidic balance for the rich meat and tzatziki. Prices were super reasonable- $14 for his pizza with 3 added toppings, and my gyros plate with extra meat was $19 (would have been $14 without the extra gyros). Chicken shawarma was dry and the management replaced it instantly but with the tritip (so I didn't have to wait for the new chicken) Wow! Tritip was juicy and cooked with a little pink. Well seasoned and was a great replacement. Gyro was well seasoned and I would definitely have that in the pita wrap next time. Chicken shawarma sandwich (pita) was good and juicy except towards the end it had dry meat. The hummus was perfect and a 10 for the baba ganoush. Falafel bites!!! They hit the spot and reminded me of the 4 years living in the Middle East. As for ambience, it's nice spot as we use to go here when it was SM Brewery, the hot chicken spot, then the soul food joint. I really love the hummus here. The portions are large and worth the value you pay. The lamb was very juicy and it was hard to choose between lamb and trip tip. I had the chicken before and felt it was dry. Of the 3, I think the lamb has the best in flavor. I wish the spicy garlic sauce was a little spicier. Otherwise, the food and service were great. My friends and I were feeling some Mediterranean food tonight and stopped by at this gem at the corner of Park Street. The place was empty, but it's a Tuesday everyone was probably out having tacos so we said eh why not give it a whirl. The food was delicious I got the chicken shawarma and it was amazing juicy chicken, paired great with their spicy garlic and tzatziki sauce, along with the hummus and the pita bread. This pita bread was unique and tasted home made I was shook in a good way. We will absolutely be back for the Chicken Shawarma Pizza, it was the best part of our order. The food was good and we liked the sauce bar. They have house made pickles which were great. My friend was really excited about how her gyro salad turned out. There's plenty of street parking and they have a display case of baklava next to the register. They only have soda and water as a heads up. They do dine in and take out. They have a couple of TVs and a large digital menu. Our one frustration was we ordered our food at 5:15pm on a Sunday evening then sat there for 45 minutes waiting for it. The place was not slammed and food was regularly coming out. There was a set of two other gals waiting for their takeout that were pretty frustrated and I don't blame them. Next time we'll call ahead. If you order in person- ask them the wait time. read more

We were driving home from Pismo Beach on Friday and looked online for a place to eat. Our whole family loves Middle Eastern food, and the exceptional reviews for Mediterranean Spice sucked us in. So here's one more exceptional review. My wife and I shared a tri-tip sandwich, wrapped in lavash, and it was delicious. They even have a condiment bar where you can grab pickled turnips. Garlic sauce, spicy garlic sauce, tahini, jalapenos, and more. The sandwich was well balanced, had lots of tri-tip, and the bread held up. We also had the sampler platter with some of the best falafel we've ever had, fantastic homemade grape leaf dolmas, hummus, and a few other odds and ends. Our son got a Kafka kebab and loved it.
