We came in thinking we'd just grab a bite... and ended up talking about every single dish. My daughter and I stopped into Cielo Ristorante and Lounge tonight and decided to share a few things, which turned out to be the perfect move. We started with the meatballs and wedge salad--both were so good--and then followed it up with the rossa pasta with sun-dried tomatoes pesto and burrata. Every dish had layers of flavor--not just good, but the kind of "wait... what is that?" in the best way. Everything felt thoughtful, balanced, and really well put together. Sharing everything made it even more fun, and honestly, we left completely satisfied and already talking about coming back. Our server was the bartender, and he was very attentive, kind, well poised, and handled things very professionally. Happy hour cocktails a bonus. They also have a rooftop lounge which looks pretty sweet, but we did not venture up there today. Tuesday we went to celebrate our daughter's birthday... we came in around 4:30 we were instantly greeted by Isaiah (who is an amazing bartender and server) We checked in for our 5:15 reservation but wanted to go into the bar for Happy Hour. The Happy Hour menu had a good selection for $7 a drink.... That being said the offerings on the regular menu were pretty amazing...so we tried the Espresso Martini, Cleme Brûlée Old Fashioned, Paper Plane, and the Black Walnut Manhattan.... beyond delicious.. we decided to have a starter with our cocktails and chose the Burrata Cloud wow so amazing ...he also brought us some fresh focaccia with oil herbs cheese and balsamic vinegar so delicious...we were seated at a booth at around 5:30. We ordered the Apple&Beet Salad which was delicious. The Chicken Pesto Pizza, The Figo Pizza and Chicken Parmesan. Everything was great... For dessert we tried the Classic Tiramisu, Chocolate Mousse and the Birthday girl got a free Gelato of her choice and a glass of Sparkling Wine. We also tried the dessert alcohol drink Leonardo Pistachio everything was great. Our server in the restaurant was Shay such a sweet and good server. Really nice to have such a nice restaurant in town... the decor is classic high back booths and tables..we're all looking forward to another visit to this great restaurant. And that only puts a worse taste in my mouth for this place. ---------------------------------- My boyfriend and I randomly went to their rooftop bar yesterday afternoon on a whim. Our cocktails were great, our bartender was friendly and helpful. Drinks were very expensive but it was a special occasion, so fine. The rooftop bar is very cute and would love to return on a day when the weather is better. The restaurant smelled amazing when we walked through. So, we decided when we got back to our room at the Carlton, to doordash some food from Cielo. I had been dying to try their gnocchi. So, we got the gnocchi, one of their pizzas, the lemon blueberry cake and a Shirley temple. The gnocchi- delicious but COLD. The pizza- AMAZING, no complaints! The lemon blueberry cake- dry, tiny and not worth it at all. AND I did not receive my Shirley temple at all. The missing Shirley temple upset me but what really sent me over the edge was that they didn't send ANY utensils...... this restaurant isn't cheap..... you guys really couldn't send any plastic forks or spoons for an order being sent to a hotel!? Had an incredible dinner at Cielo Italian Restaurant in Paso Robles. The food was absolutely delicious. The pizza dough and tomato sauce was incredible, the chicken parmesana was very good too. Sarah was our server and she was absolutely amazing--welcoming, kind, and so knowledgeable about the menu and had a few recommendations. It's rare to find such a professional and warm server. Carson was also fantastic, super polite, and right on top of his tasks all night. The service here is top-notch, and the atmosphere was wonderful. I was very excited to try this place out! Came here to celebrate a double birthday with friends. Decorations and ambience and peer reviews sounded great. When first entering the restaurant it wasn't quite that busy and multiple staff members were at the hostess stand. We were not met with a warm welcome whatsoever as our first impression and very little hospitality. We had a reservation and had arrived 5 minutes prior early. We had to wait about 15-20 minutes for our table and while waiting they took away the waiting area chairs as we sat on them. So far this much hasn't really effected us since we were hungry and still excited to try this place. We ordered multiple pastas and pizzas and a calamari for our large party. Unanimously, everyone's pasta was incredibly mushy and overcooked. I'm not that picky with pasta, never write bad reviews, and whenever I'm hungry everything tastes good. But this was just so incredibly disappointing. The seafood pasta and calamari's quality were just very below average. Chicken parm from my friend I tried...a mushy hot mess. Throughout the experience there was very little service and lack of friendliness with our groups time here. Would not recommend and will not be coming back. read more

The appetizer artichoke fonduta is amazing and definitely could be shared with 4 people. The drinks are unique and tasty. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Where I was disappointed was my main dish...I was super excited for the lobster risotto, saw other yelp photos with a full lobster tail, but then when mine arrived I had trouble even finding lobster. It was supplemented with shrimp, the lobster I found was chewy, and the broth had a (not super fresh) fishy flavor. Definitely a let down. Ended dinner with the Blueberry Lemon Cake, not bad, didn't notice as much lemon as I'd like. My husband had spaghetti and meatballs and enjoyed it. We've had other great food here, definitely coming back, just will be foregoing the risotto. read more

Visited for dinner with family. We were a group of 6 so called ahead and secured a reservation to be seated indoor. Unfortunately, when we arrived we were informed that only outdoor tables were available. I noticed an empty table for 6 and asked to be seated there instead, which they accommodated as long as we finished dining in 1.5 hrs, which was plenty. Great ambiance inside with holiday decor. The servers were pleasant but were quite busy so forgot serving spoons and took some time to come by to check on us during the meal. As for the food -- the house made focaccia and the apple & beet salad were fantastic. We also ordered the artichoke fonduta, a margherita pizza, kids Mac n cheese, and the pesto pasta. All of these items were a bit under seasoned and could have used more salt. Also, we were told the pasta would have broccolini and asparagus but it had tomatoes and bell pepper instead, so we were a little disappointed as we would have ordered a different pasta had we known. Overall, it was a fine experience but we had some minor hiccups throughout the meal and it was a bit on the pricey side. read more

Couldn't have been better. I had a party of 20 for my rehearsal dinner the night before my wedding. This was the first time most of our family had met since my husband is originally from New York City. So, you can imagine the pressure is on for this dinner to be perfect. We were greeted like family the second we walked in, food arrived incredibly quickly, and everyone was sharing bites of food because it was impossible to only choose one entree. Drinks were spectacular as well. We already have request to take our family and friends back as soon as they come back to visit! This is the best dining experience I have had in my life, and it couldn't have come at a better time. This is our second time at this restaurant in the last two years and they do not disappoint. Ben is the manager and made sure we felt welcomed for our large party of 16. They recently opened up a rooftop bar that I highly recommend checking out. 21+ only. Apparently they rent out for large events, including weddings. We enjoyed a variety of dishes, including pizza, pasta, chicken, Parmesan, and eggplant Parmesan. Their desserts are a delicacy and I highly recommend their tiramisu. Cielo in Atascadero receives a well-deserved 5 stars, it totally beat my expectation. It was my birthday dinner, joined by my gf and mama. * Lovely inside, can I say romantic industrial? * Outside patio, long bar, nice booths * Great menu, changing to make it fresh * Absolute terrific service by Claire I vacillated between 6 things on the menu, all sounded amazing. I went with the Lobster Risotto [$38, 4.5 stars] -- totally delish (enhanced with shrimp, too), but risotto was slightly overcooked and sticky. The gf and mama loved their selections, too, the Citrus Pasta w/shrimp and the Seafood Pasta (tasted, both terrific!). Cielo has now been added to my regular rotation. Terrific! read more

First time in the area and we went to dinner at Cielo to celebrate a birthday. We got lucky with an open parking spot right out front! Tried the Calamari, Carpaccio, and Mussels & Clams for appetizers which were all great. I tried the Chicken Parmesan which was a bigger portion than I expected and very filling! When I first found out that Cielo was opening in Atascadero, I was so excited to finally be getting an authentic Italian restaurant in town! On top of their awesome rooftop bar, they have fantastic Italian food, great cocktails, and an amazing ambiance! I highly recommend the butternut squash tortellini, chicken fettuccine alfredo, and pappardelle all bolognese. They have a wide selection of specialty cocktails, as well as a full bar. Went here for the first time recently for lunch. They do a Happy Hour 3 times a day. 12-1 is the one I was able to enjoy. The hardest part of going here is deciding what to have. Perfectly mixed, it was a great start to lunch. The staff brought out complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. For my meal, I ordered their pomodoro and added sausage. The perfectly cooked al-dente pasta was covered in a rich tomato based sauce and topped with freshly grated parmesan. I enjoyed their house red wine (pinot noir), from Sea Sun Vineyard, paired perfectly. Service was prompt and very friendly. Cielo offers an unhurried atmosphere that is relaxing, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our server, Claire, was knowledgeable, on point with service and fun to converse with. It was a hot afternoon, so sitting in their dining area was a welcome repreve from the almost 100-degree temp outdoors. They have an outdoor, comfortable looking patio on the ground level, as well as rooftop seating where drinks and bites are served. The large, full bar appears well-stocked and inviting. For an appetizer, we chose the Burrata Cloud. The burrata cheese was presented over green heirloom tomatoes in a balsamic Italian dressing, served with focciata bread points. Burrata has a solid outer curd made from fresh mozzarella, which is formed into a hollow pouch, then filled with a soft, stringy curd and fresh cream. We came here for my parents anniversary. We had a reservation for 6:15 but showed up a little early and they were accommodating. There was street parking in the front. They had hooks for our coats which was nice and not typically something you see. The water guy was awkward. When we said tap water he gave us a dirty look. But the waitress was awesome. She gave my parents two complimentary glasses of Prosecco for their anniversary. She was also very friendly and chatted with them a bit. The bread was focaccia and came with an olive oil balsamic dip which was delicious. We each got an entree since they have a sharing charge. Our favorite pasta was the fra diavalo which was a spicy shrimp pasta. The capriossa salad was lackluster unfortunately and hardly came with any veggies and was mostly romaine lettuce for $16. Calamari, bruschetta, Caesar salad: All were fine, but nothing special. Tried a variety of different pastas and the fig pizza. We had a reservation here for a bachelorette dinner celebration. The ambiance is perfect for celebrations. It's like one of those places where you can dress up a little and not be the odd one out, but casual also welcome. The food was quite mediocre and nothing really stood out. It would have best to save room for dessert here, because they have some really creative options which you can't go wrong with. They were also out of the Lavender creme brulee :(. What we really enjoyed though was the 8PM-Closing happy hour menu. The drinks are pretty good and there's a lot of options. This past Saturday, my extended family was able to celebrate my daughter's graduation from CalPoly- and Cielo was the perfect choice for our large party! First of all, party of 14, Saturday evening 8pm, I had no problem making a reservation on OpenTable; in fact the restaurant was not only accommodating, but communicative with questions I posed (from afar). After arriving, we were welcomed and seated promptly in the main dining room. The interior is well appointed, with beautiful high ceilings, and has a wonderful bar to the left of the hostess stand. Drink and hors d'oeuvres orders were taken post haste! Btw, the artichoke dip is as good if not better than other reviewers have said- just order it! Dinner never felt rushed, conversation, drinks and wine were flowing (I enjoyed the ring my bell, and my wife really enjoyed their spin on the manhattan). All parties enjoyed their meal, and when my father expected more meat in his bolognese, the staff was again accommodating to his request! My wife and I split the carpaccio (yum!) and the lobster risotto, which was fantastic. Staff helped us take a large group photo, and even allowed us to bring in a special "grad" cake. All in all, I would most definitely recommend Cielo for a wonderful dining experience. This is exactly what Atascadero needs more of- good food and service! We met a couple and their newborn we met in Paso. She said they had an amazing espresso martini and she was right. We came close to closing time & they accommodated the five of us. They make fresh focaccia bread but had thrown out what was left, but made a fresh batch for us. The people we met were regulars. I ordered the bolognese but didn't get to eat it because I helped put the baby to sleep. I did try the pork belly appetizer and it was yummy. The location downtown Atascadero was under some street construction at the time, but the restaurant looks to be fairly new. BEWARE: we couldn't find an Uber or a Lyft back to Paso so plan accordingly. read more

We expressed our desire to go to the rooftop bar to several employees and we were told it opens at 5pm. We waited until 5pm and tried to head up. We get to the elevator and can not use it to get to the rooftop bar. I went to the front to ask how we get to the bar. It felt like I was begging to spend my money and my time.
