Bouquet of flowers hand picked by the owner for our anniversary

It was our anniversary dinner after a hard day of hiking and we wanted a nice place to go. I had scheduled a flower delivery a couple of days before. I called the restaurant and was informed that the flowers were not there. The owner called me back and said all of the florists were closed, but since it was my anniversary dinner, she would pick flowers from HER OWN Garden and have them ready for me! Sure enough, we stepped in and she came a few minutes later with the bouquet! Service above and beyond!! The food was excellent, dishes with items you wouldn't have thought to put together, and an excellent dessert! Decor made you feel at home, cozy, like being in a house. Would definitely go back again! Thank you Claire

We ordered 5 small plates/appetizers, 3 meals and a few drinks for 4 people. Had the escargot, onion pie, beef skewers w/fries etc. we didn't know beef was spicy so it wasn't that great for us but I'll know what not to order next trip. Onion pie was a favorite at the table, like having French onion soup in a fresh pastry with a side salad it was delicious. The Bbq pork was our least favorite we should've skipped it. Dinner was expensive over $300 for 4 people. Service was excellent. I think I'd order differently next time but overall we enjoyed at least half of what we ordered so we'll come back. Relatives discussed price hours later rather than the food so that was telling. Overall a nice place that I'd try again but pay attention to prices, we just weren't wowed for price we paid.

My friends and I visited a local park, an amazing place, after which we wanted to eat. After reading good reviews, we chose this cafe. It's cozy place , and have amazingly decorations in outside. Very-very nice waiters. But dishes was not good. I really like burato cheese, so I decided to order a splat with this cheese. But instead of a salad, they brought me a raw red beet, cut into four parts, with my favorite cheese in the middle. Maybe someone likes it, but not me. The next dish was potatoes with small calamari, this dish was cold. I was disappointed and had high hopes for the third dish and was disappointed again, the meat and beans were too spicy, everything burned in my mouth. I believe that such things should be written on the menu. Unfortunately, I will not visit this cafe next time

This plate once contained a delicious dish - a beef brochette with fries and a peppercorn cream sauce - but it is now completely empty. Another great night of food, drink, and family at Runa!

Maybe out of the price range for most college students? It was really tasty and light years more sophisticated than most local Mexican places with very heavy food. Bonus for those with an allergy- they are peanut free!

If you're expecting traditional Mexican flavors, just know this restaurant leans more toward upscale fusion than classic Mexican dishes. The food is good, and everything we've tried has been flavorful, although the portions are on the smaller side. The prices are reasonable for the quality and presentation, and the atmosphere has more of a cozy, date-night vibe than a casual Mexican restaurant. One suggestion I'd make is to expand the salsa selection. For a restaurant centered around Mexican-inspired cuisine, offering a few house-made, original salsas would really elevate the experience and make it feel more authentic. The restaurant itself is fairly small, so it's not the best choice for large groups. Parking can also be a challenge since there's no dedicated lot--it's street parking only, so be prepared to drive around until you find a spot. Overall, Agave is a nice place if you're looking for creative fusion dishes in a relaxed setting. Just go in expecting modern Mexican-inspired cuisine rather than traditional Mexican food, and you'll likely enjoy the experience.

Overall, the food and drinks were good, and the restaurant itself was clean with a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, what should have been a pleasant lunch ended on a very disappointing note. When it came time to pay, our group split the check. Together, we left an 18% tip for our server, which we felt was fair for the service we received. As we were leaving, the server stopped us near the entrance--in front of other guests--and asked if something had been wrong because she didn't understand why we had left such a "poor tip." It was an uncomfortable and embarrassing interaction. We politely explained that the total tip was 18% and even walked through the math with her so she could see how we had calculated it. Instead of simply accepting the explanation, she told us that if we wanted, she could call the manager because they "don't welcome people who don't tip well." At that point, I responded that the comment was extremely rude and that we would not be returning. We haven't been back since. It actually took me quite a while to write this review. On another occasion, I mentioned this experience to the bartender at a nearby bar after she had recommended The Parish to me. She told me the same owner operates both businesses and said she would pass the feedback along. I don't know whether that conversation ever reached the owner, but it encouraged me to finally share my experience publicly. It's unfortunate because the food, drinks, and atmosphere were enjoyable. However, no customer should be confronted at the door or made to feel embarrassed over what was, in fact, an 18% tip. A single interaction can outweigh an otherwise good meal, and unfortunately, that's exactly what happened here.

After we parked we saw Sideshow on the way and decided to check out the menu. It sounded very intriguing so we decided to go there instead. My only complaint is that I really wanted one of their specials, the Smoked Turkey Salad Sandwich, but they were sold out. I was very disappointed as I was really looking forward to the smoked Gouda, but I can't hold the fact that it was really popular against them. Instead I settled on the Golden Goddess Grilled Chicken Wrap and the Jalapeno Corn Chowder as a starter. I think the chowder was missing a little something flavor wise (not sure what), but it had a nice kick to it and I was satisfied with it overall. Loved the cornbread on the side. The sandwich was great and the crispy potato skin fries were hot, fresh and delicious. The rest of my family inhaled the smoked chicken wings with the Jalapeno Mango glaze as a starter. They must have been good as I barely got a taste. For a main course my other half had the Sliced Steak Sandwich and my kids chose the Sideshow Burger (with a side salad) and the Spicy Shrimp Orecchiette (pasta) special. My son wasn't crazy about the special sauce on the burger, but otherwise everyone was happy. Two of us had enough left overs for our lunch the next day. I was really happy with the size of the starters as they were a great addition to the meal, but not overly filling where you couldn't eat your main entree. The inside of the restaurant was smaller than I expected, but it had a pleasant atmosphere. I was happy about the fact that although they had TVs playing the World Cup in the background the TVs didn't overwhelm the space. We did notice the employees had to bring new supplies/food in through the front door to take to the kitchen repeatedly while we were there. They don't appear to have access directly into the kitchen from outside, which is a little odd. A limitation in the design I suppose. Our waitress was very friendly and pleasant. We ended our meal with a delicious Chocolate Chip Cookie Strudel. We will definitely be back again.

After dinner we were looking for a decent bar to enjoy a quick drink before heading home. This place surpassed our expectations by a mile. Neon lights, edgy signs and the aroma of incense draw you in. The bar keeper greets you under the disco ball. You take a look around, cool clothes and even better decor. The bar is set up with mint infused water and glasses. I love the attention to detail, and anticipation of customer needs. After talking to the bartender; Thomas about their cocktail options, I settled on a draft IPA, although I had my eye on their Filthy Twisted Martini. Thomas described it as breaking all the trad martini rules and it sounded delicious, but he let me know it did have a bit of spice. I couldn't tolerate anymore spice so I decided to try that one another time. My Wife ordered their botanical lemonade, she loved it, describing it as the best lemonade she ever had. Y'all!! It's delicious, a must try, with the option to have it with or without alcohol. We decided to sit on their rooftop patio, people watching and enjoying the cool summer evening. Bathrooms were super clean. Parking on the street. This place will be on my mind until the next time I'm there. Signed, The Happy Hour Huntress
