I ordered the chicken and vegetables curry and it has a fabulous flavor. I usually get a Panang curry but this is a new favorite and I loved that it had potatoes in it. I also got the spicy basil beef. It was spicy but not too spicy. I liked that the vegetables were cut small and thin so it was easy to eat. Savory with a slight sweetness. We got the drunken noodles and the veggie egg rolls as carry out. The food wasn't necessarily bland, but I personally didn't think it was anything special. I would prefer to get drunken noodles elsewhere. The egg rolls came with a sweet chili sauce, which saved the dish. It's nearby, so might try something else next time. So, I want to say that my girlfriend and I were going for PHO but they are closed on Mondays. We drove by this Thai restaurant and decided we should try it??? This place is AWESOME!!!! The food is fresh and delicious!!! The owners are amazing and cook to order fresh ingredients at the spice level you want !!! My dish was Cashew Chicken and it come with rice and I forgot to ask them to switch the rice for noodles so he gave me the noodles on the house!!! I'd just finished a few days at a conference in Rockwall, and I had some time to kill before I left for DFW--and I needed lunch. I'd been in the area last year, but while I'd seen Rumdoul's great ratings, I'd opted for a Vietnamese sandwich shop that was slightly closer. This time, I had all afternoon, so off I went for a latish lunch. Rumdoul is in a fairly nondescript little strip mall a few doors down from Hot Donuts (their donuts are yumtastic, but if I told you how I know that I'd have to kill you). Once you walk inside, however, you're in this oasis of comfort and calm. Rumdoul is a family business, and they are some of the nicest people I've met. Like, astoundingly nice and ridiculously hospitable. Also, I appreciated the decor, which rocks the same modern, minimalist (but comfortable) energy as my fave Thai spot in LA, Otus. Of course, what we all care most about is the food, and after trying two of their dishes, it's easy to see why they have such high Yelp ratings (and why a number of the customers who came in while I was there were clearly regulars). Because we have so much good Thai food in LA and I eat it a lot, I wanted to focus on the Cambodian side of the menu. I started with a bowl of clear soup that contained rice, shredded chicken and various vegetables. It had great flavor and felt very "clean"--just quality ingredients done simply and well. Next, it was on to the main attraction, the spicy basil beef. They warned me that they threw down when it came to spice, so while I will often go with a medium, I opted for somewhere between medium and mild, which turned out to be just right. The beef itself was super tender, stir-fried with fresh basil, onions and sweet peppers, accompanied by rice and topped by a fried egg. It was addictively yummy. All in all, eating here made me very, very happy, and I predict that eating at Rumdoul will make you very, very happy too (so try it--you deserve happiness!). I'd love to try the rest of the menu, so if I'm in the area, it'll be at the top of my list. read more

This is an ahmaaazing pho restaurant. Very clean, great music, you know when they are playing Edna James it's gonna be a great atmosphere. The service is excellent. They definitely came to ask us how we are doing a few times. They also gave us complementary onions, which is very important to me. We were able to try their new menu! If I lived in town this would be a regular spot. The moo ping with sticky rice shouldn't be missed. The housemade dipping sauce was incredible. We also had the papaya salad, crab rangoons and chicken pad thai. The crab rangoons were exceptionally light and perfectly made. The pad thai was comforting and a very generous portion. The owner was running a little late (10 min) and personally called me from the grocery store to assure me my order would be ready with the freshest ingredient possible . He went that extra mile. Boss Lady and I ordered spicy pork and spicy basil beef, respectively. Started with their egg rolls, just ok but not bad. The main dishes are as spicy as you want them. Because we had seen good reviews, we decided to try Rumdoul today. My husband and I both totally loved the food we ordered. I had chicken Katang and my husband ordered a beef stir fry dish. We expected it to be good but it was amazing - even better than we could have imagined. We also got an order of lettuce wraps which I will definitely order again. If I could give more stars, I definitely would. I got the beef Loc Lac and my husband got basil fried rice. Both dishes were very flavorful and the beef in my dish was very tender. Get the fried egg on top of the loc lac, you won't be sorry. We just got takeout, and had to drive a while to get home, both dishes held up nicely.
