My food was delicious as always. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The gal at the. Punter who took my order asked if I wanted to go or dine in. I said to go. So that's what she put on the order. But then she gave me a number and told me to sit down and they'd bring it right out. So I assumed that's how they do to go orders. But the other gal brought out my order in regular trays and she asked if I was staying or going because the receipt said to go. But yet I had a number. Lol. I laughed it off and said I'm already sitting. It's fine. I'm too tired to get up so I will eat in. And I sat there and enjoyed my meal. It was delicious. read more

It was so good! The employees were nice and fast! And the food was good! And the vibe of the place is perfect as well!

It must have been pretty obvious that we were newcomers and had never been here before. While my wife and I were browsing the menu, an employee walked over to us and offered assistance. I've never had that happen-usually someone just waits at the cash register while we figure out what we want. He took customer service to a whole new level, walking over to us and giving suggestions. He was very friendly and welcoming and I ended up ordering what he recommended. The portion size of the rice bowl was very generous. My wife ordered the tacos and said could have ordered more-so depending on how hungry you are, you might take that into consideration. The flavor was terrific on everything. Although I enjoyed the peanut sauce that was recommended, I am eager to try the teriyaki next time, as that is my favorite. Kudos to the management of this location. But my favorite go tos are: - kahuna Rumbi burger with a mix of sweet potato fries and regular fries - volcano blackened salmon - chocolate lava cake (can't go wrong with desert, right?!) The list could go on and on because everything there is delicious! The food is pretty healthy as well. Most meals come with rice and veggies! The vibe of the restaurant is very Hawaiian-like. The employee that greeted me and took my order was Happy, Helpful, Accommodating but most-of-all turned what could have become a very disappointing visit into a triumph. I got there just as they were closing so it wasn't surprising that they were out of what I wanted. She checked to see what they still had and offered me a choice of the remaining items instead. I wasn't thrilled but her cheerful attitude along with a large dose of what I will term as "we got ya covered" convinced me to stay and take her up on the offer. Food was very good, and included some extra rice and a discount for not having exactly what I wanted. Even though it was my fault for getting there late, she turned the visit around. I love their food! I usually get the luau pork plate with teriyaki sauce, sweet Rumbi rice with beans, and macaroni salad. Their sweet potato fries and sauce are yummy. They have fresh salads, fish, chicken, etc. Good selection of drinks and desserts (salted caramel cookies, hot lava chocolate cake with whipped cream, rice Krispie marshmallow treats, and pineapple cake). Parking in the small lot can be tricky. But so worth it! read more

It's been awhile since I've been here, so I figured I give them a try since I was in the area. Ordered half aloha chicken salad, Cabo chicken and shrimp, fish tacos and spicy teriyaki chicken bowl with rumbi rice. Chicken is very bland but after taking it home and heating on the stove with sauce it amped the flavors on the rice bowl. Salad is smaller than I remembered, but a good size. I wouldn't take home the tacos they were cold and a little saggy, but had some decent flavor. The chicken and shrimp bowl was really good. Then they tell us that they only have fountain drinks, so when we ask for a small then they tell us they only have large drinks and water cups charge me for a large. None of the tables are clean, I have to go and get wet paper towels to clean the table my self. They're out of ice, and have no kids for my son's cup. They're are multiple other people waiting for their food. They are ignoring engine in the store and focusing on their online only orders. I spent over $35 on food and it takes them 60 minutes to get us three bowls, after not getting food after waiting 1 hour, I just got a refund... I will not be returning, I don't think you should either. If it was possible to give a 0 stars I would. There are 9 of us waiting for food, and they made 14 orders for pick up and completely ignored all of us in the store. LAME DON'T COME HERE read more

I was quite disappointed to find out that they now charge you extra to put vegetables in a rice bowl and charge you extra to have fries with your burger, even though online it says that the burger comes with fries. When I feel like I've been eating pretty terribly, Rumbi's is one of the places I go back to. What to get: Volcano blackened mahi-mahi and salmon with either rice option and the house salad! While it's a little pricy, it's one of the healthier and tastier meal options. The other food is pretty good but that's what I go back for. Oh and if they have a dish called Spicy Lava Noodle bowl, do yourself a favor and try it. read more

SOOO GOOD!! I don't know why I waited so long to try this. The house salad is fresh and the balsamic dressing is delicious. The toasted pecans add a nice flavor and crunch. I tried the rumbi rice and brown rice. Both had good flavor with the sauce and seasoning and was cooked perfectly. The shrimp is also sooo good. Shrimp is one of my favorite meals anyways and this was a real treat. The grilled chicken was tender and yummy as well. Overall great flavor and very fresh. Great food! We had the Cabo fish tacos and the kalua pork plater. Everything was great. It was very flavorful. Unless you hate coconut, I highly recommend the Rumbi Rice with your order. The first employee we encountered lectured me about how to put garbage into the garbage can.. I asked if she could wipe down a (filthy) table for us... she said she would .. never did.. we finally wiped down our own table .. then.. we got our food.. the chicken on my salad was both stringy and chewy .. with barely anything else in it ... my husband asked for pink sauce.. Very impressed. For the price, they actually have real silver wear! You can hardly find that anymore in a casual restaurant. I love the option for brown rice, the only other place I can think of with brown rice option is Chipotle- and the Chipotle in Orem is not as good as the other ones. Rumbi is a great way to switch up your daily routine. With a lot of reasonably healthy options, Rumbi is my go to place when I want to be a little more conservative for lunch. My typical meal here usually consists of a brown rice bowl with grilled chicken or steak, with vegetables. Go easy on the sauce, because sauces add a lot of hidden calories. The bowl always tastes fresh, with moist grilled chicken that you can tell wasn't made yesterday. The vegetables are actually pretty good, especially when dipped in any of their signature sauces. The teriyaki sauce is a little salty for me, so I typically go with the jamaican jerk or their honey orange sauce. The menu here is pretty large, offering a wide variety of hawaiian style plates and meals. Prices are pretty decent. Around $8 for a half bowl, and $9 for a full. I usually just do a full bowl, and save the other half for breakfast or lunch the next day as it keeps pretty well. The staff is very friendly, and the food comes out pretty quick. I went here today at 11:45 and it wasn't even busy, so keep that in mind next time you are looking for a less crowded restaurant during the lunch hour. Fresh food, healthy options, and a lot of flavor. Definitely a win in my book. read more

If you like hospital cafeteria food, go there because even that would. be significantly better than this place. They had us wait 45 minutes because they incompetently didn't put our order in, but iI was willing to let that slide. They were apologetic and extremely nice but the food was SO BAD, no one should even think of eating here. We ordered the "teriyaki" noodles with "grilled" chicken. Nothing more than dried out frozen chicken cubes and some spaghetti noodles with teriyaki sauce. Their macaroni salad was a joke, just a few bits of macaroni dusted with watered down miracle whip. It was so bad it was almost laughable. For almost $30 you are better off with some top ramen, foster farms diced chicken and a bottle of teriyaki sauce and it would be considerably better. This has to be a joke they have 4 stars for what they consider " island" food obviously. no one has tried real Hawaiian style food. read more
