Did not order food. Plenty of local beer. Place has a killer entertainment. Ceiling is lined with guitars. Packed with people even on Tuesday

We absolutely love Rum Boogie! Its always our first stop on Beale! The servers are great. You can't beat the decor, its awesome!

I can't decide to give this place a 3 or 4, but for how cool the vibe is I will give it a 4. There is a stage and they claim to have live music 365 days a year. I'm not sure if that is true since that means they open every single day and never close. not sure. However, the menu is limited. Typical bar food. I would say come here for the atmosphere, life music, but not for the food. I had a lime cheese cake and it was ok. Also they charge $5 cover. Just keep that in mind. It's added to the bill. The place does need a good cleaning. Everything is a bit sticky. The floor, chairs, table, etc are all sticky. I'm sure they wipe, but it needs some good cleaning. Anyways, it's a cool spot to come, chill, and enjoy the music.

My 1st time on Beale street, after walking all morning. This place has it all - LOTS of signed guitars- from past & present stars. Memorabilia everywhere. This led to an 11am cherry margarita on the sunny patio- don't judge - lol

Not the fanciest place on Beale Street, but the hanging guitars were very cool to see. I didn't try any food here, but I had a great time hanging at the bar, drinking local beer and listening to some amazing musicians playing the blues.

Didn't try any food here, just ordered two cocktails. Those were pretty nice. Cool ambience too with hanging guitar and live music. Service was good too.

Went on Saturday night and Freeworld was playing (Friday & Saturdays). Great sound and it was kicked up even better when the woman vocalist joined (wish I remembered her name) as she had a killer voice! We didn't eat anything but came for drinks and the music. We were not disappointed.

Best live music on Beale Street! Cafe through the door also has live music and food but we really loved the vibe, drinks and bartender over here!

Awesome atmosphere, guitars, decor, music. Surprisingly decent food! I had the rice and beans soup, decent spice, slightly sweet. Partner had the gumbo. Nice a think with stuff, nice spice. Shared the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese. Draft beer. Ok, cheap plastic utensils, but it's pretty good. During the IBC, I would guess the music is far better than the other times of the year, but that's a wild guess

I was in town for four days and this spot was such the vibe, I stopped by 2 evenings to listen to great live music and enjoy the vibe. The drinks were reasonably priced and staff pleasant.

I made a quick pit stop in Memphis for lunch at Rum Boogie Cafe on the way to CO. 360 views of guitars and memorabilia adorn the walls and ceiling at Rum Boogie with live music filling the air. Waiter was friendly. I got the sliders and salad which was basic, nothing special.

Music is great. Live music. Lots of signed guitars from other performers. Good service. Will be back!

The Alligator gumbo and crispy wings were unexpectedly delicious. The bartender made amazing drinks. I highly recommend this place in Memphis, TN for the fantastic food, live music, and excellent service. $5 cover charge

I believe the place was empty when we took a seat at the bar but another party of 2 followed shortly behind and sat a little bit further down the bar. I tried something that sounded better than it tasted but ultimately this is a matter of personal preference and I have a high maintenance palate. The people next to us got wings, which looked good until they were dangerously close to a leak that had sprung from one of the exposed pipes above. They had to move to a table behind us and then some of the staff got a bucket to place on the bar to catch the dripping water but that made a very loud noise so then they put a towel inside of the bucket. I will admit that I have never experienced such a thing before. It looked like the pipe that was dripping had tape wrapped over that area so they had tried a "bandaid" fix in the past but it didn't work. Obviously, this does negatively impact the "ambiance" portion of the overall experience and getting the impression that this is an issue that could have been fully addressed previously but the decision was made not to. It wouldn't stop me from going back but it certainly isn't ideal.

I had a fantastic espresso martini and the best brussel sprouts I've ever tasted! So I was excited to come try something else. On the plus side, the bathroom was so nicely decorated. It was also very clean. I sat at the end of the bar, beside the little section of books. The bartender was nice. I ordered the Ember&Passion cocktail. Although it was pretty good, it was quite mild. Unexpected with the ingredients in it. I was surprised that the level of expected heat was not very detectable. I give it 7/10. When I came here before in the winter, the temperature was perfect and I don't remember being too bothered that they don't have cocktail napkins. But yesterday it was quite warm in the restaurant and not having these napkins wasn't good. Nobody in the restaurant had any type of napkin under any drink! I noticed that just like mine, every glass of water from every patron had a puddle of condensation under the glass. Each time I picked up my glass of water, it would drip onto my food and clothes. My two menus got so wet. I suppose they made this decision to save themselves a lot of money. As for the food: My parmesan truffle fries were excellent!! Hot, crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked in the middle. Best I've had in a long time. The Alabama white sauce on the side was just your typical sauce. It tasted just like every other Alabama white sauce that I've had so was not disappointing. But I actually ended up not using it because it was too thin and it didn't add anything to the fries. The fries were excellent enough on their own. I ordered my burger "pink" but there wasn't any pink to it, but I wasn't that bothered about it. Burger and the toppings were tasty, except for the fried green tomato. Looking closely at the picture, you can see that it was SO SMALL compared to the size of the burger. When a restaurant does that, don't they realize that it makes for a glaring disappointment?! It apparently came from near the end of the tomato, and not the middle. If you are going to offer a fried green tomato on a burger, then I feel as if you should only use the larger slices of the tomato, and save the smaller ends for maybe putting in salads. I've always been obsessed with fried green tomatoes. After having my first two bites of burger and still not reaching the tomato, I took it off to eat by itself. Sadly, it tasted terrible! I was surprised. Obviously, they didn't season the tomato or the batter. (Salt and pepper go a long way.) The burger toppings apparently made the tomato batter not only soggy, but also this strange thick texture. Like mushy and chewy at the same time. 1/10 Worst problem: FLIES!!! So many flies! When I just had my drink but no food yet, I noticed them but was not bombarded by them at that point. It wasn't until my food came. All of a sudden I was literally surrounded by them. They were everywhere! No exaggeration. I actually had to use only one hand to eat and the other hand to constantly move back and forth over my food. I eventually gave up and set the plate of some of my fries about 4 inches in front of my burger in order to hopefully draw the flies to the fries so that I could eat my burger. Unfortunately, after only four bites of my burger, when I set it down to take a drink of water, a fly landed on it within one second. Obviously, that was my last bite, and even when I was moving the plate closer to the end of the counter, two more flies landed on it. The glass of straws was inches from me. That, and the book closest to me seemed to be where they gathered to wait for their opportunity to dive bomb me. So many of them! It turned my stomach when I realized that I had been drinking from a straw with my water and I'm sure there had been flies on it before I got there. Every person that gets a straw in their drink at this restaurant has had a fly sitting on top of it. When the bartender told me about the desserts, it turned my stomach to think of just how many flies were in the kitchen. Had I known the fly situation was that bad when I first got my drink, I would have never stayed there, and I certainly would have never ordered food. I do think it is a real shame because the winter months are a totally different experience in that restaurant. But because of how horrible it was this time, I just can't ever come back.

Here's a clean, strong review that keeps your energy: Hands down one of the best spots in town. The beer selection is top-tier--something for everyone, whether you're into classics or trying something new. The food is next level, especially the fries... easily top 3 I've ever had. Crispy, flavorful, and addictive. The atmosphere seals the deal: great music, high energy, and the fact that they're open until 3am is a game changer. Best part? The service is always on point. One of the Worst Customer Service Experiences I've Had After…read moreattending a Pride event and visiting from out of town, my friend and I stopped by Bar Dogs late at night/early in the morning on June 7th, hoping to grab some food before heading back to our hotel. Unfortunately, we were met with one of the rudest bartenders I've ever encountered. As soon as we sat down at the bar, the bartender--a Caucasian woman with a short haircut whose name I unfortunately didn't get--greeted us with an attitude that immediately made us feel unwelcome. Instead of providing friendly service, she was dismissive, impatient, and rushed us through placing our to-go order. She informed us that we could not eat at the bar, which was completely fine. We agreed without any issue and ordered our food to go. However, when my food arrived, I simply opened the container to make sure my order was correct before leaving. She immediately rushed back over and aggressively said, "Didn't I tell you that you could not eat at the bar?" I hadn't taken a single bite--I was only checking my order. Rather than politely clarifying the policy, she continued to scold us and make us feel like we were inconveniencing her simply by being there. We still hadn't even received my friend's food, yet she seemed more interested in lecturing us than providing basic customer service. Once my friend's food finally arrived, we left as quickly as possible. As visitors in town celebrating Pride, we expected a welcoming atmosphere and basic courtesy. Instead, we experienced hostility, impatience, and a complete lack of professionalism. There's a huge difference between enforcing a policy and treating customers with disrespect, and this bartender clearly doesn't understand that distinction. The food may have been fine, but the service was so unpleasant that I would never return or recommend Bar Dogs to anyone looking for a friendly place to eat or have a drink. Customer service training is desperately needed.
