I started off with a boozy coffee drink and it was not good the chocolate was clashing with the Irish cream and something about the taste of the drink was off. My server was nice for the most part. The menu looked great so I ordered a decent amount off of it considering it was a solo date, and I regret wasting the money. The loaded tots was the best item I ordered. They were cheesy, savory and very flavorful. The shrimp and grits once again just tasted off. It's not like they weren't seasoned but its flavor profile was offputting. I also wanted to sample the cinnamon roll pancake. That was the biggest negative of the meal. The cake itself was tasty but personally I need either chocolate chips or a thick cream cheese glaze (in terms of this cinnamon roll pancake) to be satisfied. Ordered the southern BLT and migas (being from Texas a bit different from what I had in mind but still good nonetheless) Also ordered the vanilla iced coffee and the mimosa. Everything was enjoyable however though very personable, our server seemed a bit unfamiliar with the menu. It was quite busy when we went (Mardi Gras time), so if you're going during brunch or a busy time like that, I suggest calling ahead or making a reservation online (join the waitlist on their website). The service was great and quick for how busy they were at the time. The atmosphere is fun and bright, with a giant red slipper sculpture on the wall to finish it off. I went with friends and I had the Chicken St. Charles, which is fried chicken over delicious, fluffy buttermilk biscuits, topped with two poached eggs and a creamy pork gravy sauce. It was so filling and tasty - I had to share with my friends to finish it off. We also had some Mardi Gras French toast that was covered in edible glitter sprinkles in Mardi Gras colors. If you have kids I do not recommend going here because the waitress clearly did not like kids, she was making comments to us and was not nice.
