Yummy and a large menu but a bit overpriced. The wait was looooooong so make sure you get there early for breakfast. It is a small restaurant but it isn't cramped. Wait staff weren't particularly nice or polite, more just blunt. But, the food was good. read more

Judit..... I can't express how grateful we are for the first experience we've had in New Orleans. Your service was impeccable & it made us feel at home! Thank you so much for being kind and I hope you get the recognition you deserve. This place wouldn't function the same without you! read more

Always excellent at every location we have tried. It is a little pricey for breakfast but totally worth it.

Are you kidding me...if you are in NOLA and you do not visit the Ruby Slipper Cafe...you wasted the trip. Was in NOLA for a week and visited twice, it was so good and it did not disappoint on the 2nd visit. Food, drinks, service and atmosphere were all perfect on both occasions. Also, if you are a Bloody Mary connoisseur, theirs could be the best I've ever had (and I have had quite a few). They do get busy so the earlier you can get there the better and trust me, it is worth getting up a little earlier. read more

Ruby Slipper Decatur - Classic French Toast - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - New Orleans, Louisiana

Place was cute. Service was a bit slow. Food was good. Try their house butter! It's amazing!!!

The food was absolutely phenomenal! The Benedicts were outstanding and the breakfast taco was equally amazing. They have so much variety and every option has its own appeal. I'm giving a special shout-out to Jenny F for the terrific service. She is the definition of 'Southern Hospitality' and she gave some great recommendations. Consider yourself lucky if she happens to be the one serving your table! read more

Great food today. Had the chicken, French toast and strawberry bites. What a combo!!!

One of the best breakfast in NoLA. Great drinks, beignets and specials. Usually a wait but we'll worth it.

We visited the Ruby Slipper while in town for the Essence Festival. Our waiter was a gentleman by the name of Alejandro! His mannerisms and professionalism was unmatched. He took very good care of us, and was polite, and kind. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is coming to the area for vacation, to visit family, or just hang out! read more

An unassuming cute cozy breakfast place. We got shrimp creole Benedict, bananas foster French toast, and they were both over the top good. I usually can never finish French toast (too sweet and too much bread) but I licked the plate at this place! Great coffee too. Love to come back someday. Also read the note in the wall.... the origin behind ruby slipper as a homage to homecoming after Katrina. Extra bonus points for coming here! Love this place. read more

I am still thinking about the wonderful breakfast we had at Ruby Slipper in NOLA a couple of weeks ago, especially after eating a bad and overpriced meal yesterday at an extremely popular brunch spot near where I live. My omelette with veggies and goat cheese was scrumptious. The biscuit with honey butter, and coffee I had were both delicious too. My husband had the crab cake dish, which was also fantastic. Prices were also very fair. We only managed to get a table because we got up early. We tried a couple of days later, after 9 am, and couldn't get a table for hours (it was during French Quarter Fest), so we gave up and went to the place on the corner across the street, which was also very good, but not quite Ruby Slipper good. I wish I had one of these in my neighborhood in Massachusetts! read more

a little bit of a wait when I get there but that usually means the food is good haha. I walked to the host stand and the most cheerful host put my name down. She make everyone in her space happy. When I got seated... I got the coolest waitress:) I'm really happy with meal and overall full. =] definitely a recommendation. (: read more

I only realized halfway through my meal that I forgot to take a picture. The food came out and looked like perfection! Only after I took my first few bites did I realize that the taste was true perfection! My goodness, the biscuits and gravy were sensational! And, and! It came with a fried green tomato on the side! I have been in heaven the last 15 min as I slowly enjoy and savor each bite! If you've not eaten at Ruby Slipper...you're undoubtedly missing out! The entire experience has been phenomenal! read more

Now you may have to wait BUT it is worth the wait! They make it as comfortable as possible by allowing you to order drinks and providing a place to chill while you wait. Now let's get to the good stuff! THE FOOD!!!!!!! The food is very good and seasoned to perfection. I had the grit cakes and fish. Some people can't make grits so when I saw they had grit cakes I knew somebody knew what they were doing! I paired it with the French toast bites. It gave the perfect salty sweet combo. The servers where not just bringing food but answering all our New Orleans questions about where things were and what was happening in the city. Where we should go next. I will definitely be back here. read more

i've never had a worse experience. service was awful, food was cold, when i asked for it to be heated up the waitress stared at me and said "i'm not the chef what do you want me to do about it?" the breakfast sausage was still frozen and cold as ice. literally go anywhere else. read more

So good! Love the loaded tots. Ate here twice while in NOLA. Just try it. You won't be disappointed. Staff was very friendly.

This place is a great brunch spot! The food was delicious, you have to try one of their specialty eggs benedict. If you're looking for a good lunch option the Honey Hot Glaze fried chicken sandwich is yummy too. The only thing disappointing was how many flies there were outside on the patio, it made it a little hard to eat. read more

I love Ruby Slipper on Broad. Food is wonderful, have had most of menu, lol. & I LOVE the servers.

I live in Arkansas and my husband works here, had a chance to come visit. the breakfast here was phenomena. Ruby Slipper Decatur - Stuffed Brioche French Toast , Biscuits & Gravy, Mimosas - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - New Orleans, Louisiana

Simply amazing breakfast!!! We ate here several times during our trip to NOLA. I'm pretty sure there are no wrong choices on this menu. My personal favorite savory dish was the Chicken St. Charles eggs benedict (which I had two days in a row). My personal favorite sweet dish was the Banannas Foster Pain Perdu (I'm not even a big fan of banannas and I still thought this french toast was crazy good)! The cinnamon swirl pancakes are perfect if you like a nice lite cinnamon roll flavor. The white chocolate bread pudding was good but not as amazing as the other two sweet dishes. All the drinks were fabulous, especially the bloody marys. The Brandy Milk punch had a nice kick (similar flavor to eggnog). The wait staff was very nice and efficient. If you go with a friend I recommend you split two dishes between two people. Their food is simply too good to only try one dish. They were able to accomodate our luggage when we stopped in on our way to the airport. I strongly recommend checking in on their waitlist on the Yelp app before arriving especially if you arrive after 830 or have a party of more than 4. read more

Always tasty and always fluffing meal and drink. Ruby Slipper is a regular pit stop for our trip

Great little New Orleans chain cafe with a great story. The food and drinks are good. The staff is professional and friendly. Be prepared to wait at peak times and don't show your privilege when you come with a party of 10 and expected to be seated without a two hour wait. read more

Pro tip: they get busy so add your name to the waiting list from your hotel on their website. Such a great experience! We ate here twice during our 5 day visit to New Orleans. I regret I didn't get the name of the hostess, but I did tip her based on her personality alone. Big crowd and she kept everyone informed, comfortable and set a joyful tone before we even sat down. My God, the shrimp and grits were mouth watering. My husband had white chocolate bread pudding pancakes and I swore he was gonna lick the plate. Second meal he devoured the stuffed French Toast. Apple cheesecake beignets (a seasonal offering) were to die for. Don't forget to start with a morning cocktail. Mimosas and the Hello Sunshine (gin, grapefruit with rosemary simple syrup) were delightful. Such a quality experience to start your day. Because you know there is a big chance your day is gonna go sideways after that on Bourbon Street. lol read more

Never disappoints! We always recommend Ruby Slipper to friends visiting Nola (Decatur & Magazine locations are the two we have been to). Favorites - Any of their dishes with fried chicken, it's perfection, Spicy Bloody Mary, Banana Foster French Toast, candied bacon and of course their eggs benedict. Plan ahead, usually a long wait but it you plan it is easier to manage. First join the waitlist online then head to the location before time you are quoted expires - check in, then they will give you an updated time usually around 20-30 mins more. You can order a drink to enjoy outside or walk around the neighborhood. read more
