I'm just a huge fan of Ruby River. I love the ambience of this restaurant. Food is consistently good and I love the seasoning on my ribeye. The salmon has been a hit and miss for my wife but the steaks are always consistent. Service is always spot on!

I walk in and sit in the bar area. Everything is portioned well, drinks, sides, entrees. Prices are reasonable. I switched it up and ordered the 20oz. Prime Rib with the Jacketed Baked Potato. Our server Mari was fantastic.

Dang... this used to be a favorite place. I used to bring my friends here after today. I will never come back. The table was dirty. The floors were gross and dirty. The service was terrible, I saw my waiter twice. the Caesar salad which I should've taken a picture of was horrible, the cheese on it was hard. The cheese was brown. I couldn't eat it. Been here for an hour. I do have a drink and I have my salad lol can't eat that still waiting for my food. If it wasn't so filthy in here I probably could overlook some of this stuff. This disgusting. I'm just gonna take my food home and eat it hopefully it's not gonna make me sick.

The restaurant was clean and inviting. Our server was friendly and attentive. The filet mignon skewers were excellent. The meat was tender and cooked to perfection. This is a great steakhouse for locals.

We haven't been back here for quite awhile; trying out different establishments in Reno. Food still great and service good ! Sourdough to start. Today we got the 10oz Garlic butter Sirloin with asparagus and broccoli as sides (Yum) and 16oz Ribeye. I requested more garlic butter to put on my veggies; which to me made it pop. We had enough room for dessert so we tried Ruby's cookie (which the cookie tasted undercooked / mushy. I prefer a firmer cookie). Overall still good steakhouse !

If you follow my reviews you know I've been in a Birthday club with the same girls for 36 years. Tonite is the night to celebrate Patti's 60th. To be honest I haven't been to the Ruby River since the last Birthday party when Shannon turned 40 so it's been awhile. I had the garlic top sirloin, it was delicious and the meat melted into your mouth. I wish my onions could have been grilled longer and really my one piece of asparagus could have used a few more friends on my plate. Everyone enjoyed their food and service was excellent. We made a reservation for 8 and got seated right away. All of our dinners came out at the same time and for a table of 8 there were no issues other than more asparagus. The last time we were there you would throw the peanuts on the floor but it seems like they removed that type of atmosphere and the restaurant was going more for the classy steakhouse vibe. When we left there was a huge wait in the front! Glad we made a reservation. I highly advise it. Oh by the way they didn't include the gratitude for a large party and I thought that was extra nice. We always give more anyway.

I had the smothered chicken breast. I didn't read correctly, I thought I was getting chicken breast smothered in mushrooms. It was smothered in cheese and bacon. My bad! It was quite tasty, I just took off the cheese and bacon. On the other hand I heard the steak was perfect. Never disappointed when we come here. The service was great as always. Ruby River is always a great choice.

A nice place with reasonable prices. Good food at prices that won't break you. Saw a number of families sharing. A full bar with decent wine selection. Might call ahead on evenings and weekends.

I cannot wait to come back and visit Lily and hope I get her again as a waitress. This was my first time here and she made my visit so enjoyable. What an adorable waitress with good humor and positive energy. She had that sweet Texas charm and made sure I was taken care of. I could have stayed there all night eating and chatting with her as she checked on my table. I really enjoyed the dark, quiet, and intimate nature of the place filled with our voices as I asked her things about the menu. Overall the food was fiiire! Steaks seasoned to perfection, delicious soup, ranch, and sides, and pretty good prices. The ambience is lowkey and intimate and sometimes you want that when the workd is so loud and crazy. I love you Reno, I will return! Thanks for the delicious food and amazing service. Oh, the table bread 10/10 stars! The red wine braised mushrooms were a nice addition and I highly recommend their Cowboy Crispy Potatoes which are amazing. Their poblano sauce is great on them. It was not busy since it was a Sunday so we sat down right away and then a waiter came over to give us water. Our waiter came by shortly after that to see if we wanted drinks or appetizers. I ordered a nice glass of chianti red wine from Italy and my friend ordered the spritz. We also ordered the French onion soup to share. Our drinks came out pretty quick along with bread and our soup. The drinks were great, the soup was one of the best French onion soups that i've ever had. The broth was delicious and not too salty but plenty of onion flavor, right amount of cheese and onions was in it, and it was plenty too eat. Our waiter came back to check on us and told us the specials. We ended up ordering the 24oz ribeye and the side of lobster mac n cheese. Our meal came out right on time after we finished our soup. The ribeye was cooked perfectly med rare, it was juicy, flavorful, and tender. One of the best steaks I've ever had. The lobster mac n cheese was cooked perfect, the noodles were tasty, al dente, plenty of lobster in it, and the flavor definitely was cheesy and lobsterish. The food was outstanding. The service was great as well even though it wasn't busy. I forgot our waiter name so I'm sorry. We were too full for dessert or we would have ordered some. We had made reservations and were greeted immediately when we got there and seated right away in a very nice booth . We had Jeff , Tony , Gary were our waiters and man they were top notch excellent. Very attentive and made sure we had a great experience. We ordered drinks - I had a Smoked old fashioned (see video) and wifey had a gin lemon drop. Both were delicious. We started off with Stuffed mushrooms and Lobster Bisque. I'm not a huge mushroom fan, but these were pretty good. The lobster biscuit had a lot of flavor and decent amount of lobster. For main we ordered the Trio Wagyu that consisted of Australian , American , Japanese. Sides were Lobster mashed potatoes and Brussel Sprouts . Man everything was sooooo good . Our fav of the trio was the Australian Wagyu it was so good . As a surprise they gave us some chocolates and a little cake for our anniversary. This was definitely worth it especially for. I can't believe I haven't updated my review…read more Brought a friend here for dinner. There were three of us. My friend and I had the 6-oz Filet Mignon USDA. I got mine with caramelized onions, baked potato, and fresh veggies. We both got it medium rare. She got hers topped with Point Reyes Blue Cheese crumbles. Her daughter got Filet of Petrale Sole Meuniere. First came a basket of bread. But, two of us are gluten-free. The Waiter made a point to check with the kitchen on all our meals. The steak came out smelling like garlic. It looked so much better than the picture I posted. It was so tender it cut with a butter knife. The color of the steak inside was perfect medium rare. The flavor on the taste buds is what dreams are made of. Some meals we remember for a lifetime. Because every bite is just that scrumptious. I can still almost taste it by just thinking about it. For dessert, we got the classic Bananas Foster, which is made tableside. It is dinner and a show. Bananas Foster is such a decadent treat. The show begins with the melting of the butter, and the aroma will still your breath away. Then add in the brown and white sugars. Several alcohols are used. I believe they use Banana liquor as well as rum. Then a fire is lit in the pan. It sparks when the cinnamon is added. Then the bananas are cooked ever so lightly. Sometimes, too much liqueur is added, and the flavor is off. However, on this night, it was spot on. The sugars and liqueur create a caramel sauce for the bananas, and vanilla ice cream is added. The ice cream that was used tasted like a French Vanilla ice cream with little flecks of vanilla. Each bite was a walk on a cloud. My friends had never had Bananas Foster before. I think they will be back if only for the Bananas Foster. The bananas and caramel with a kiss a vanilla ice cream just send your taste buds to heaven. Each bite will have you desiring more, even if you are beyond full. Each bite is so divine. It tastes so decadent that your mind will be blown that it is bananas and vanilla ice cream. I can't remember the name of our waiter. He was such a delight and made sure we had a great time. This was a meal I will remember for a long time. Thank you to the staff at Duke's Steakhouse. The happy hour menu has changed and my husband's favorite Chardonnay is no longer included, but Adrian bought him a lovely Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc which was very tasty for $8. Adrian is a wonderful bartender and we enjoy his service! Sad to hear Jenna moved on too! The eating area is very spacious and commodious. Though this place has a casual vibe, the presentation of the food is totally fine-dining material. Each dish, especially the Citrus glazed salmon, is served as a piece of art. I've been here around three times before I installed yelp, and am excited to finally leave a review. The short rib, was absolutely amazing. The short rib was so tender, and each brussels sprout was a literal flavor bomb. The brussels sprouts I've had at other places have flavor only on the exterior, whereas the brussels sprouts here play a different game. The short rib is served in a really big portion. Though it may look dark from the photos, there are actually three big pieces. I loved loved loved the sauce; there's a sweet tangy taste to it, though it reminded me a lot of BBQ sauce. This short rib was a win. Chefs kiss. The truffle lasagna was terrific; so much sauce in between the lasagna layers. I could absolutely make out the truffle flavor in this dish. However, I recommend eating this dish quickly, as the lasagna stiffens really quickly. Thirty minutes after it was served, I went it to take another bite, and it wasn't as good anymore. The ceasar salad +beef is a great choice for a light but filling meal when you're currently on a healthy diet. Each dish here comes in giant portions, but even after you finish this salad, it won't feel too heavy on your body. I think it's because Washoe is really light on the dressing levels; perfecting the amount so it doesn't overtake the fresh flavor of the greens or leave the salad bland and insipid. However, the beef was a bit too well done and on the firmer side. The first time coming here, I was totally shocked to find out that the food they served did not match the relaxed and informal vibe the setting sets up. Not a bad thing at all. Creates a laid-back vibe while still getting high quality food.

My husband mentioned that we should go back since it's been years and I agreed. Big mistake. We walked in and was greeted by a pretty annoyed host and we decided to sit inside. So far so good. Same guy comes over and asks what we want and he still didn't seem like he even wanted to be there. He just kept being short with us and at this point I'm getting annoyed myself. I asked if the lobster roll was good and he said everything here is good and that he's been doing this for a long time yadda yadda and so I ask " are you the owner?" His reply "Nope!" And I'm like okay whatever. We get our food and the scotch egg was sooo salty. We couldn't even finish. The best dish was the bulgogi lettuce cups. My husband's short rib poutine was overly sweet and soupy. My lobster roll was so acidic and just not good. Let's just say I was not happy. So I had my husband look up who owns this place since we heard that there's new ownership and guess who the owner is!?.......... Our waiter/annoyed host! Also he made a comment how he's waiting on his 1 star review which is a bizzare thing to say to a customer but okay. So now I'm even more mad at this guy. We still played nice, thanked the staff and left. But we were stopped outside by another customer that was seated 2 tables behind us and they said they are going elsewhere to get more food and how they think that there's drama in the kitchen and how our waiter/owner seemed angry and slammed the menu down at the bar. I didn't want to give a 1 star but the best I can do is 2. Needs lots of improvement with food and he needs to be a lot happier or at least act like it around customers.
