I'm curious how this place has 4.5 stars out of 5? I love Vietnamese food and tried many high end ones. when this place opened I was excited. But not what I expected... Sketchy ingredients they use, specifically the meat? Am skeptical since it seems fake or something - Ordered some vermicelli to go, and it looks like rubber chicken. Real chicken doesn't have a thick dense consistency, or hard? Weird taste. I couldn't even finish it. See the photos for yourselves... The folks who work there are very nice and efficient. It was a nice little restaurant with a good amount of seating as well as quality food. I had chicken pho and egg rolls. The chicken was a bit dry, but it was still good. I enjoyed the egg rolls and even got a Thai iced tea to go. I'll go back again for sure. My only suggestion is for the staff to check back in at some point during the meal. read more

This review is solely for the tofu fresh rolls. First time here last night. I ordered tofu fresh rolls for take away. They were ok; not outstanding and not terrible. On A 1 to 10 scale I'd say a 3.5. You get two and all that is inside is a huge piece of lettuce, rice noodles and a good size slice of tofu. Nothing to write home about. When it comes to fresh rolls I'm always looking for fresh herbs and more fresh veggies like basil, mint, carrots, daikon, cabbage or even bean sprouts. But these ones were just lettuce and rice noodles. The peanut dipping sauce was ok..it really did not have much flavor. But any road I doctored it up at home with some fresh chilli pepper. The menu does not list tofu fresh rolls only shrimp ones. But the attendant informed me they could make tofu ones.. which brings me to service... It was one gentleman at the till and he was attentive. For what I was needing didn't require much attention. He was pleasant and courteous... Also I asked him as I was leaving if they offered vegan pho and he said yes they do. Next I asked if they use the dreaded MSG and he informed me that yes they do.. but he hastened to add that "they have to" and that "it's just a small amount" so their you have it. I wish they didn't use msg but seems like all Vietnamese restaurants use it. I promise to update if I decide to return to try they're vegan pho. This restaurant is in a strip mall so lots of large open windows, not bad at all and things looked clean. If your craving fresh tofu rolls. I wouldn't drive out of my way for these ones. But! if your in the area and just needed to kill hunger pains these will suffice read more

Really disappointed that I have to write this review. My wife and I really liked this new pho joint... close to home, nice dining room, good winter food. Their soup was always really good quality, also the bahn mi and the pad Thai. Prices weren't great, but comparable to other restaurants. But our latest visit there will be our last. RUBBER BANDS in my pad Thai! (Yes, they were beige rubber bands, so they were camouflaged by the pad Thai...but still!) And not just one, but 2. Maybe more but I finally stopped digging around in it and just had them take it away. The waiter brought a new one, but no apology, no peanuts on the side...and we were charged for the meal! Bummer. Try it and you will see for yourself, the broth and the spring rolls have an herbaceous and savory flavor that I can't put my finger on and can't get enough of. Delish! Went here for dinner, and enjoyed every bite. Got there around 6pm, and there were a couple of people and a few folks or pickup. They had a rush that came in after us. There was a sign at the restaurant for quite sometime before they finally opened their doors. Well....needless to say this IS the spot for Vietnamese food in the area. So yes I have to compare prices from down south. It is higher than what we would normally pay for a bowl of pho, but it seems to be an average price of $14 around here. They kindly took a request of only rare beef eye of round for one of our bowls of pho. Pho should be customizable which they gladly did for us. I think there chili oil was homemade. Also had a combination pho that had plenty of everything. Would be great if they had beef tripe. I'd say that was the only thing missing from that particular pho. Combination bahn mi was tasty. Where did y'all get that mini French baguette??? It was so light and crispy. They for sure don't sell that kind of bread at any stores around here. I guess you'd have to slightly alter your ingredients for the customers you're serving in your area. The only thing missing is the original homemade Vietnamese Mayo. But y'all that pate is delish! House Special fried rice was wonderfully flavorful. The char siu was good in it! Nice touch! Fish sauce fried chicken wings was so yummy! I loved the true flavor of fish sauce and they didn't skimp on it neither. Vietnamese iced coffee was strong, just the way it needed to be. Could use just a tad bit more condensed milk. I really really wanted to like this place. But the bald server was absolutely awful. I understand that new restaurants need adjusting and it takes awhile to get the perks down. But my lemon glass chicken was completely rubbery and burnt and when I spoke up about it, our server simply said well we made it I'm not going to take it off the bill. Honestly I don't care that they charged us, it's the communication during a dispute that irritated me. Terrible customer service. The pho taste like water you can tell they don't use a bone broth. The salad rolls were crunchy... the only thing decent we got were the crispy wontons and the bubble tea. $138 spent on the hands down worst "Vietnamese" food I've ever tasted. read more

Thought we would try this place for the first time and we were not disappointed at all. I had the spring rolls and salad rolls and my husband had the special bahn mi! And we both had the Vietnamese coffee which came iced which was perfect. The spring rolls were delicious but wrapped with the Chinese spring roll wrap and not the traditional rice paper, which I can understand as rice paper is hard to use when making a large quantity. The salad rolls were delicious and very fresh. The filling included shrimp and cha sui (bbq pork) and other very fresh vegetables. Service was good and we were seated as soon as we arrived. I notice that most of the clientele were people on their lunch breaks. The bahn mi took a bit longer but it came out toasty and filled with fresh vegetables and ham and bbq pork. We were out and about then decided on pho' instead of going to our go to place across town we decided to try this new place again across town but was pleasantly surprised how spot on the pho flavors were. Price was right and so we decided this is our new place to go after years and years of our other pho place . This place is even further away from us but worth the drive. Rude staff, specifically the older man. Seated the Asian man behind me and started serving him before ever acknowledging me. The customer even told the man that I was here first and he wasn't phased at all. When he handed me the food and I was thanking him he literally looked away to avoid eye contact. It was just a weird interaction. Food is actually good though, the other staff is not "friendly" but at least not rude like the one guy. I finally gave Ruby Pho a try, and placed a takeout phone order for their Special Pho soup on Saturday night. Wow! The order was ready in 10 minutes. I had hope for what I was about to discover, as the order was neatly tied in a bag with several separate containers. When I unpacked it, I was shocked at the size of the soup, amount of different meats, vegetables, noodles and steaming hot, broth. The broth was more clear than others, yet very flavorful. I appreciated that the broth was not over powered by Chinese 5-spice. You need to try Ruby's. (Sorry, no pictures available, as I was too eager to dive in.)
