    07. Wonton Soup
    Courtney B.

I've been sick for nearly two whole weeks (yes, WEEEEKS)! I loathe this time of the year when The Things go to their camps and bring cotties back with them (rant over). So, this means that GrubHub, Uber Eats, and take-out have been fueling my household. Wonton Soup A steaming bowl of wonton soup is the starter for a stir fry or any flavorful Chinese dish. Wonton soup is a staple of Chinese cuisine with tender wontons in a seasoned chicken broth. Wontons are like an Asian equivalent of ravioli or tortellini with a tender dough folded around a spiced meat mixture. The wontons in this soup are filled with ground pork, as it has lots of flavor and a hearty texture. Beef & Broccoli Beef and broccoli, aka tender strips of steak and crisp broccoli florets in a rich brown sauce, is a popular Chinese restaurant dish. The dish presented here is made with flank steak that has been tenderized with a baking soda solution and marinated. This allows the meat to soak in the brown sauce as opposed to sitting a top of it. The portion offered is filling, cooked thoroughly, and flavorful. Eggroll The eggrolls here are crisp and filled with cooked pork, cabbage, and carrots. The eggrolls were an ideal mix of meat and vegetables. Overall, this was a good take-out meal. If one is seeking a fine dining experience, this isn't it.

    92. Sesame Chicken

I ordered takeout and got the orange beef and sesame chicken. Both dishes were flavorful. The chicken was cooked well and juicy .The orange beef stood out with its crispiness and sweetness, making it an enjoyable food. Additionally, the crab rangoon was remarkably tasty, adding to the overall satisfaction of the meal. I recommend dining here, whether for a meal in or takeout.

    Pho Tai Bo Vien
    Ethan L.

I got the pho tai bo vien and fried rice. Both were amazing and had just the right flavoring and were not too salty. There is a lot of space to sit and was very open. While I was eating, there was a full party who came in and took up almost half the restaurant; however, there were still left over seats to accommodate more guests. A lot of people were doing to-go orders so this could be a great place if you want some good Asian food and don't want to cook. There was really great service from the staff and they were very attentive to us to make sure we were enjoying our food and did not need anything else. Overall, this was a really great place for pho in the Georgetown area.

The serving was disappointing and the guy who took our order was cranky. Not sure what we did to deserve such bad service but oh well.

The food is really good but these guys can't pack a to-go order. The last 2 times they've left soup out. I'm done ordering from them.

My mom and son ordered the homemade wonton soup and both really enjoyed it. Broth needed a touch of soy sauce though. I had the Vermicelli noodle bowl with pork and my son had the same. My mom went with the pan fried noodles with combo beef, chicken and shrimp. Everything was outstanding. This vermicelli bowl was fresh, crisp, light and flavorful. The dressing was light and just needed some spice so I added some siracha. Pork was marinated, tender and plentiful. We were so hungry so no photos of the egg rolls but they were homemade, and delicious! Crisp, filled with veggies like carrot, daikon and bean sprouts with ground pork and well seasoned. I wrapped mine in the accompanied lettuce leaves and dipped into the rice vinegar based sweet dipping sauce. Mom's combo pan fried noodles was huge and she barely came up for conversation enjoying every bite. My son tried a shrimp and said it was really fresh and the brown soy based sauce was well balanced. The restaurant is clean, well lit, but sounds tend to echo so nearby conversations are easily heard. The bench seats could use come cushions to help with comfort and sound. The owner is very attentive and we will be back soon! You'll pay at the register after dining. This was out second visit.

It has been one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants-and one of the only places to serve the Vietnamese pancake that I love. I sat down, getting ready to contemplate the menu. I was shocked to see it was a brand new menu. I asked my server about it, and he concurred that it is a new menu, but that the owners had taken many of the former choices off. . NO more fried rice-always my grandson's favorite. Although I was disappointed when it was time to order, I chose the Mixed Protein Bun. I requested shrimp and eggrolls. It is a bowl filled with rice noodles, shredded lettuce, cucumbers, shredded carrots, and your choice of protein. It also comes with a generous portion of fish sauce. After one bite, I knew that the old chef must have left. My food was so bland. To start with, I don't think it was salted at all..... which quite often affects the flavors negatively. There were no other spices or sauce or anything tasty in my bowl. I was very disappointed. I didn't even eat a quarter of the Bun. I didn't take the rest to go and I won't be returning, unless I see that they have returned to their former style of cooking. So I'll definitely be watching the reviews. It makes me very sad to have to write a negative review, especially about a place. I have enjoyed so much in the past!!!

We had walked past it a few times in the past and had been wanting to try it out. The restaurant is small and non-assuming, but don't let that fool you. We opted for lunch with a couple friends and were not disappointed. Our server Mack greeted us as we arrived and quickly got us seated with menus and waters. I had heard that the Kao Soi was supposed to be really good, so I opted for that. My wife had her usual Pad Thai with chicken, our friends had Pad Krapow with pork and chicken Basil Fried Rice. Living in Thailand for 6 years as a kid, I pretty much know good Thai food, and I can tell you that all 4 dishes hit the mark. I tried tastes from all 4 dishes. The Pad Thai was served with crushed peanuts and a big slice of lime and was very flavorful, had the right amount of sauce, but probably could have used just a tad less sugar and a few more pieces of meat. The Basil Fried Rice was delicious. It had that "wok-fired" street food taste and was served with some sliced cucumber and a slice of lime. The only thing I would change is to leave the broccoli out. You don't typically see that in Thailand. The Pad Krapow had a spot-on taste associated with good Pad Krapow and did not disappoint. The only suggestion is to be sure and order it with a fried egg to make it more authentic. Last but certainly not least was my Kao Soi. Only recently becoming more popular here in the US, it is an egg noodle curry soup dish that originates from northern Thailand. I have had Kao Soi in restaurants in Chiang Mai, and I can tell you that JaiWai hit every mark with this one! Most impressive was the plate of condiments. It included a lime wedge for a little acidity to help brighten the flavor of the broth, chopped shallots for some freshness, and pickled mustard greens that really make a difference! They are tart and crunchy and help counter the richness of the broth, a component that's very important in Thai cuisine. And lastly, fried chili flakes. This is optional for those who want to add some heat to their bowl, but for me it is mandatory. I like my Thai food hot and spicy. The only suggestion I have for the Kao Soi is maybe top it with slightly less fried noodles. They were welcome, but just a tad difficult to mix them into the soup because of the amount. Mack did an amazing job serving us. He was very friendly and took the time to confirm our orders. So I highly recommend JaiWai and we will be making it our go to Thai place in Georgetown. Do yourself a favor and give them a try! Ambiance - 9/10 Service - 10/10 Food - 10/10 Overall - 10/10

We had the yellow curry with tofu, pad Thai with tofu, and the papaya salad -- all were delicious. One thing worth mentioning: we ordered spice level 1 out of 5, and it still had a solid kick. Definitely enough heat to keep you reaching for the next bite without being overwhelming. They also brought out complimentary egg rolls and wontons as appetizers, which was a nice surprise and a great way to start the meal. The restaurant itself is very casual with a simple, no-frills atmosphere that seems mainly focused on to-go orders rather than dine-in ambiance.
