AMAZING!!!! Its been a long time since I had some great fish tacos! I've been trying a bunch of different places lately to see who has the best fish and shrimp tacos, and I have been disappointed over and over. Until I came here to Rubios. I went for the Coastal Trio plate and I'm so glad that I did!!! It came with one shrimp taco, one fish taco, and one tilapia taco. All were cooked to perfection!!!!! The tilapia was cooked in a batter, and gave it a very nice texture but it wasn't too crunchy which sometimes happens with beer battered fish tacos sometimes. The salmon was grilled and tasted delightful. And lastly the shrimp tacos were so flavorful, and came with slices of avocado which set it off the hook! Got the ancho shrimp burrito and classic shrimp burrito, both were tiny! I've gotten the classic shrimp burrito numerous times at other locations and they're pretty big. The ancho shrimp burrito was way too sweet and lacked any flavor. On numerous occasions when I've placed my order through door dash there are no salsas, why wouldn't a place that sells burritos and tacos not include salsas in their orders. I even called ahead and asked them to put salsa in the bag and the male worker who answered the phone said he'd put them in there. When our food was delivered there were no salsas in the bag. COVID'19 review only Mother's Day. I ordered nearly $100 of food on two orders. Both were for 5pm pick up and I placed the orders the day prior. I arrived and yes it was it pain with the restrictions but I can handle a little inconvenience. My first order was ready about 10 minutes late but I was actually thrilled...this was $85 worth of food. I asked about my other order (under same name and for same time) and they said, "it should be right up". I put the big order in my car and waited, waited, waited with no follow up. I asked kindly twice and got blown off. 5:30 came & went. 5:45 and I have $85 worth of food sitting in the car getting cold. FINALLY someone takes the time to check on the order and it was still behind several other orders. Nearly 6pm (1 hour after promised time) and I got the Taco Plate & Burrito plate. With all of my other food now totally cold. No apology. No attempt to make things right. Got home and the burrito plate was just a burrito...no sides as I had ordered. We walked and and walked right out tonight. Arrived around 8:30 and it had a burnt awful smell in there. The place was a mess the counter in the kitchen looked like it hadn't been wiped down in hours literally food everywhere. The restaurant was so dirty I don't get it there was only like one table sat with two ladies and one guy at the register. There were at least 4/5 workers so I don't get why it was so nasty in there? I don't order takeout from Rubio's often, but when I do, they always mess up my order. Zero special requests with the food. Easy, right? But they always forget to put something in the sack. I've been to Rubio's across many different locations and the food is always consistently good. However, the service today at this location was stellar. Shoutout to Darren for having a great attitude/smile and bringing out a bowl of water for my dog while we sat on the patio. The girl at the cashier was great too. Food came out quickly even though the restaurant was full. I surprisingly like that the salsa bar is closed and you just tell them what you want... seems faster not trying to work around the salsa bar around a bunch of other customers. We keep trying and they keep failing. When we use to come here years ago they were great but the last 4 years have not been good. When we order online, they screw it up. When we order in person, they screw it up. We waited 30 minutes for our food tonight and it was wrong. When we brought it up they apologized, we waited and it was still wrong. Then we waited longer, the manger said she would fix it and we came home to see it was still wrong. We should not have trusted them and should have checked it before we left so that was our fault but after 40 minutes and two tries we thought they would have figured it out. Nope. Still strong. It's with a heavy heart to say I am done with Rubio's!! I try to be patient with how long you have to wait for your order, they always get my food wrong and when I get my food, which is always to go, cold!! I don't know if it's employee turnover, or just the long process of making food. When I bring the food home to my family, I always hear the moan and groan of how their orders are wrong. The rice was old and so crispy I thought my teeth would break. We went around closing time and you can tell there was less effort to make the food. A previous time at this exact location, they got my order wrong, and when I went back to fix it I heard them complaining in the kitchen out loud. Rude cashiers and terrible customer service. We always come to this location for taco Tuesday. We always place an order, usually 12 fish tacos with all the condiments on the side (salsa, cream, cabbage, etc) via phone. The location in Temecula never answers their phone, but this location does! They always have our order ready when we arrive and we have never received bad fish tacos. There was one time they were very busy and lost our order, we waited about 40 mins, and they apologized and gave us free taco cards and I am pretty sure refunded us for the cost of the dinner that night. Highly recommend this location, friendly and quick service! They also give us a bigger container for salsa if we ask. read more

This place is so back in the groove! We were here this past Thursday night for a local school fundraiser which was very busy. No matter how much more people were there after 5:30PM than normal, they were staffed up and ready to go. We had the fastest service we've ever seen at the Temecula Parkway location. What is more impressive is that the langostino burrito I ate was one of the most delicious seafood burritos I have ever eaten. A little out of the way from the freeway, but close to the vail ranch/Redhawk area, this location is just a stones throw away from your prime shopping locations, the food was very decadent, ordering a blackened mango mahi mahi power bowl and was pleasantly surprised. The quality was superb and the presentation was great, only reason I am not giving 5 stars is it was a little pricey for only two strips of mahi mahi, but I will definitely be coming back to this establishment. read more

I'm very disappointed in how much this Rubio's has gone down hill in the last couple of years. Today was the last straw. After ordering, we sat down at our sticky table (guess they can't bother to wipe them down anymore), so close to the one next to it that I bumped into it while trying to get to ours. I ended up moving the tables around slightly so that other customers would be able to get to their seats too (so I basically worked for Rubio's for free today?).  My father ordered the Balsamic and Roasted Veggie Salad. He said he has ordered it before, it's delicious, and comes with a ton of veggies. It's supposed to come with grilled peppers, zuchinni, onion, roasted corn, cilantro and lettuce. When it arrived, the bowl was mostly lettuce, some corn, and a couple of small bits of peppers. He of course complained. The first worker told him he didn't even know they had zucchini. The second guy told him the veggies were pre-mixed and they just scooped them out so he had no control over what they got. That's bull if you ask me. They obviously don't pay attention to what they "scoop out" if my father didn't get 1 piece of zucchini. Open your eyes! See what you are scooping out! (Guess they don't care enough to do so.)  After that conversation, they said they would bring him more vegetables which would include Zuchinni. They ended up bringing him a bowl of peppers. Just peppers. At that point I was pissed. My father is physically disabled, walks with a can,  and I didn't want him to get on his feet again to complain, so I did. I was told the same thing "we have no control over the veggies". So I told the manager, "I guess that means if you order a salad with zuchinni there is no gaurentee that you'll get zucchini?" She confirmed that and spewed out some more bull about how it comes prepackaged and whatever you scoop out is what you get. I complained enough that finally a cook in the back actually said he would find some zucchini for us. He's the only one that seemed to care.  When we got the new tiny bowl of veggies, there were indeed two small pieces of zucchini in the bowl, including the end of one with the stem still on it (see photo). This whole ordeal just tells me they don't care about their customers or their service. A few years ago we had a small problem with an order and they gave us a partial order refund. This time we were offered nothing but peppers. Again, just shows how much they care about long standing customers.  I've been to other Rubio's before and have never had issues like this. I'm not sure if they are franchises or what, but this one is a mess. Every time I come back there are more tables squished into a small space and service is worse than the last time. We will not be coming here again and I wouldn't recommend anyone else does either, unless you're fond of terrible service and "sorry I can't provide you with what you actually ordered because I'd have to get off my ass and do something". I'm pretty sure it's illegal not to provide a purchased item...  I'd recommend going to any of the nearby taco shops if your are craving Mexican (or really, almost Mexican). read more

My boyfriend and I went here for a quick lunch before leaving Temecula. The first thing I will say is that the restaurant was very clean (at least the front of the house, I did not use the restrooms). The manager did a really good job of walking around and cleaning up any debris and pushing in chairs and delivering food to people waiting. Now as for the food, it was okay. I got the two taco place with chips and beans. I got the original fish taco (made with fried Cod) and the Salsa verde shrimp taco. It took quite a while to get our food, and the place wasn't very busy. It did come out hot, so that's a plus. However, I can't say I enjoyed it too much. My original fish taco was mostly breading and the salsa verde shrimp taco was good, but nothing to rave about; I needed to add quite a bit of lime to bump up the flavor profile. As for the beans, I couldn't even eat them. There was so much pepper, it tasted like pepper infused beans that burned your tongue in the wrong way. My boyfriend had to finish them off for me. Now, I'm going to mention the salsa because I absolutely love chips and salsa. I would say that their salsa wasn't the greatest. They have a charred salsa, but it too was peppery tasting and lacked in flavor. I had the house salsa that is "good on anything" but it was just okay. Maybe it's because I live in the San Fernando Valley and I'm spoiled by many, many good Mexican restaurants that I wasn't too impressed. After all, it is a chain. But then again, I would say Baja Fresh is a chain as well and I adore their charred salsa. What in the heck happened to my beloved Rubios?? I've been eating here at least twice a week since it opened. I loved the beachy laid back feel and of corse the great food. I especially loved the excellent manager Yolanda who knows my name and makes it a point of coming over and saying hello. Now with the remodel it's turned into a really uncomfortable gathering place to eat with friends. There is no privacy. Tables are crammed right next to each other like a cafeteria. It's awful. It feels crowded. Nothing inside would indicate this place is mexican food. There are only a few months out of the year we can eat outside. I'm so bummed. Who made the decision to follow the pack and become like everyone else?? I don't feel like coming here anymore. My friends and I are moving on. So sad. Love this place ! Beside the great service every time, the food is excellent ! Love their chicken tacos on flour tortilla or thru chipotle chicken salad with chicken or fish !! It's spicy and healthy. Be sure To ask them to go light on the dressing because it's a lot otherwise(or maybe get it on the side ) Chopped salad was just ok but I would ask for he chips on the side because they are all crumbled up in the salad and if you don't like that.... This has been one of my favorite places before covid but was pretty disappointed this trip. Restaurant look like it hasn't been cleaned well all week. Crumbs on the back bench with straw papers, crumbs and dirt in the windows and fingerprints,, several tables were dirty. I know there's not enough business on a Sunday to qatrant the condition. There just didn't seem to be any leadership. I did enjoy the food as always, I wasn't asked if I wanted sauce since there is no longer a sauce buffet. Not sure if I will be back. read more

I really think this Rubio's is the training center. I've been to many Rubio's locations and had great service, however, the Rubio's off Temecula Parkway SUCkS. This is one of our regular spots in town. Delicious. We love the California burrito, street tacos, or quesadillas. The salsa is delicious too. They sometimes forgot items for DoorDash deliveries but have improved a lot. read more

The food quality has gone way down hill. The fish tacos were all batter and fish bones and the beans used to be yummy but now they're just really average at best. The basic house salsa was way over blended, more like ketchup than salsa. The mango lime agua fresca was awesome in the fountain area but the food was pitiful. read more
