Welp another shitty shop I'll never be going back to. Add them to the list with BMW of sterling and BMW of fairfax. I needed an oil change which BMW of Fairfax failed to do while my car was being serviced there and I was charged 1800 dollars for, but different place and different review. I had an appointment here for 1 o clock for just a simple oil change, that's it. It took THREE hours. Not one, not two. THREE fucking hours to change my oil. I'm sorry I don't give a flying fuck how backed up you are or how sick your service guy is my appointment was for 1 and if you couldn't honor that request then YOU shouldn't have booked me for that time. When I finally come to pick it up at 3:30 (I dropped the car off at 12:30) the service guy couldn't even figure out how to put my M4 in park which is starting to become a reoccurring theme at these shitty shops. Either that or he was just not in the mood to take the extra steps to do so. I come back to my car and the engine is off but the backup camera and parking sensors are still on and beeping like crazy and the car is upset because the stupid guy could not even figure out how to put it in park and turn it off. If it had been done at the right time I would have missed rush hour but thanks to them I had to sit through hours of northern Virginia traffic due to their fuck up. Yet another place I will never be returning, I guess you just can't get good customer service anywhere anymore. read more

Just left my car for some diag work so we'll see how that turns out, but the costumer service experience is great spoke to 3 different people and they all seem knowledgeable about the car and could answer all my questions. They are busy and don't have loaners but have after hours drop off which worked great for me. I'll deff revisit on their work later, but so far very pleased. read more

I have been bringing my 3 Series with an SMG transmission to RRT for close to 10 years. This business and the people that work there are very professional and from my experience the most knowledgeable on anything BMW in the area. Even the Service Reps out front display outstanding technical knowledge (Try and find that at a Dealership). RRT has displayed complete integrity in my dealings with them having never recommended any service that was not absolutely required. Their prices are also very reasonable and far less than a Dealer. I brought my car to them with an SMG issue. They thoroughly diagnosed the problem and resolved it with a simple course of action. My past dealings with two local dealerships for my SMG while the car was under warranty where nightmarish at best. If you have a BMW there is no better option....if you have a BMW with an SMG transmission RRT is the ONLY option. As far as the mask issue noted by another rater, the waiting room is large, very clean, and stocked with hand sanitizer and cleaning materials. All transactions are conducted behind a plastic shield. Really liked these guys; complete, thorough, and fair. Are they the cheapest? No, but in this case, I got what I paid for -- a complete once over of my high mileage vehicle with attention to detail. Then they walked back into the shop and explained everything, and after that developed an estimate with three different options. Even after all that, when I asked them what they would do if it were their own car, both the technician and the manager were straight with me. So, for the price of a very good diagnostic, and with a couple bonus tweaks from the technician thrown in to help me out, iIlearned that I needed to get to CarMax ASAP, let my baby go, and save myself a couple K in repairs. So I highly recommend them for any performance car -- they were fair, honest and straightforward, and will definitely take my next baby back for maintenance and repairs. read more

I have been working with RRT for five years now. Their service is top-notch, their knowledge of BMWs both on the street and on the track is unmatched. The techs have real world experience which they use when they recommend changes or set-ups. Despite me being the king of 11th hour requests for major work to be done, they've always done the work (never found a mistake) at the last minute and delivered the car in time for me to take it to a race event. My first time dealing with the team at RRT lead by Michael Olenyn. I drove down from Eldersburg MD for the RRT treatment. I brought them a 2009 X6 5.0I with over 2 dozen small dings and they returned a dent-less X6M....... (In my mind) I received a Dinan 2 upgrade and they treated my car to one of the best dent less repair service I have ever seen. Pricing was reasonable and service was top notch. They even had corporate rates with Enterprise car rental, who picked me up right at their door. My car was done ahead of schedule for less cost then originally quoted. I wanted to add some info on the Dinan software upgrades. If you have the need for speed, then get it done. I found the best part about the Dinan stage 2 upgrade is the experience you get driving the car driving under normal conditions. The part throttle response is night and day different then before. Light and balanced throttle control, no more hesitation between shifts, and no more bog between second to third shifts. I like not having to push the throttle far to get a descent response from the engine. Don't forget about the gut-retching acceleration because if your not paying attention, you will be instantly leaping into triple digit territory. I am smiling right now as I am typing this. I look forward to coming back to RRT for some future suspension and exhaust work. Thank you RRT for making me love my car more then ever! read more

I have performed almost every service/modification to my BMW 540i very successfully, up until now! Needed to have a new alternator installed, a process I have easily done many times on GM V8s. Spent 2.5 days attempting this on the 540i, and was totally frustrated. Took it to RRT and it was done in about 1 hour! At a very reasonable price. Their facility is very clean; their staff is very professional and polite; and, the job was executed beautifully, at a very reasonable price. Going back for 4 new Michelin Pilot Sports this Friday. While this place can do high-performance mods for racing, they also do regular maintenance and repair. Had my 2008 e60 M5 to BMW of Fairfax and they were "unable to replicate customer complaint" too many times. Having just went out of the factory warranty period I was reluctant to go to an Indy shop with an after-market extended warranty, but Matt assured me that all was good and that Mike had experience dealing with even the most difficult warranty companies. After taking the time for a ride-along to experience the problem first-hand they then set out on trying to figure out what was really happening. They used a video camera and James' experience with suspension setup to determine that the front electronically controlled damper/strut was cavitatating from full lockout to full soft creating the wild pulsating feeling that was transmitting thru the steering wheel. Mike worked his magic with the warranty company (in-spite of their being no diagnostic fault code set in the computer) and all is good! Also purchased a set of Continental D/W SportContacts thru their TireRack program and had them mounted and balanced on their new Hunter RoadForce balancing machine. read more

I didn't think I'd find a service center that is even more meticulous about my BMWs than I am, but these guys are. I had tire and wheel work done and they did an excellent job. Now I have all my non-warranty work done there. They're vastly more knowledgeable than the dealer with much better service and equipment. read more

Mike was amazing in his help with my 2013 335xi. The previous owner had outfitted the car with Dinan parts from RRT before I bought it. RRT reinstalled the Dinantronics unit that had been disconnected prior to sale. Won't go anywhere else in the DMV for performance work, their quality and level of service is unmatched. read more

Great, honest service! RRT was able to diagnose and fix my suspension issue when the dealer wasn't able to. They were also able to fix my rear camber with their 4 wheel alignment which another independent shop was unable to do. RRT is simply an amazing automotive performance shop. They built a 2005 BMW ZHP for me that I had purchased with a blown motor. Instead of replacing that with the same type of m54 motor I chose a s54 from an e46 M3 for the transplant. Wayne @ RRT provided me an initial quote to complete the work that was right in line with my final build price paid for the swap when completed. Along the way I added numerous enhancements to the project that were not originally agreed upon in the initial statement of work. Things like adding an e46 M3 rear end with LSD, ECU tuning, and custom exhaust work are a few of those additions. With each addition I dreamed up the price to complete was fair and the quality of work is phenomenal. It took some time for all the work to be completed as was expected and originally agreed upon, but now that it's done all I can say is that it was definitely worth that wait. I am literally driving around in a 1 off custom built BMW ZHP M that operates just like it came out of BMW's M factory. Actually it's better than that as RRT added several enhancements to strengthen my cars chassis and drivetrain components while they built it. They also came up with various innovative solutions to resolve several unforeseen problems during the build and the fabrication completed to resolve is artistic yet race ready and priced very well for the quality delivered. Pieces like the relocated windshield wiper fluid reservoir and its new location, the brackets RRT made to mount it look OEM. Also the reservoir itself was modified to allow fitament under the hood but is not noticeable and the final product is very solid and looks OEM. They also managed to fit very aggressive rims and tires that do not rub, much detail was put into reworking the rear fenders to accommodate the added rim and tire size. In fact, the entire cars fit and finish is amazing and RRT's work is top notch. This car looks and feels like it's brand new. I cannot recommend a shop more earnestly than how I would recommend RRT to anyone looking to have anything done to their BMW. Whether it's something as simple as an oil change or a completely custom built car, if you can get them to agree to do the work you will not regret the final product. These guys are the best I've ever dealt with and I will be a customer of theirs for life. read more

NOVA is lucky to have a shop like RRT because really they are so very few and far between. These guys are hands down the best in the area. I wouldn't be on the track without them. - Great fabrication skills and they listen to your needs and requirements, unlike other shops that build what they want and ignore you. - If they get something wrong, they make SURE to make it right for you without arguing or nickel and diming you over "unforeseen" costs. - - Their facilitiy is fantastic. Super clean and safe, with everyone very organized, polite, and courteous. - They are very attentive to all their customers. You feel like part of a family going there. They care about your car and its condition as much as you do and it really shows in the quality of work and attention to detail. - Oh, and did I mention they don't bullshit you on hours for labor? That's right, they actually bill you for what they actually worked... and that is unheard of these days in this business. - They are very experienced and can help guide your car as much as you want, or as little as you want. Exceptional service and very knowledgeable. Are they cheap? No. Do they do great work? Yes. Are they a better shop than the stealership service center? 100x times better. Found some issues with my coolant hoses and replaced, and also put new spark plugs and battery in. The ONLY complaint is that they do not work evenings or weekends. This makes it very inconvenient and difficult for those of us who can't take a whole day or more off from work. Otherwise real quality work backed by a 2 year 24,000 mile warranty. I've used RRT for my racing car - they did a large percentage of the original build, and have provided excellent prep and even ad-hoc track support for me over the years. I could write a long verbose review on how I went to RRT and received the best customer service I had experienced since moving to VA two years ago, or how I wasn't charged a diagnostic fee, or how I have always been treated with respect and patience even though I have very little knowledge when it comes to cars, or how I went elsewhere and completely got taken advantage of and the other shop had absolutely no clue in regards to any part of my car even though they claimed that BMW's were their specialty, but I don't think Yelp would allow that amount of characters. Instead, I will say that if you were given the option to purchase more stars then I would gladly do so because this business deserves special recognition. Excellent Shop, the only reason I was not able to give them all 5 stars was because I went in to get my car checked because I thought it needed tires and alignment; They checked the car, it did need tires and alignment, they gave me a quote which I think was very fair and I was ready to have them order the tires and come back to get the work done; however, I was presented with a bill for approximately $150 to check the car and give me a quote, this is the first time in my history of using automobile shops where I was charged for an estimate, I would have been fine with it if I was told before they took the car that there was going to be a charge to check it out and give me an estimate, Just don't like being surprised that's all.......but the shop and quality of work seems to be excellent and they will be installing my tires and doing the alignment on my car, they just need to tell their customers there is going to be a charge for a service before they actually perform the work and just present them with the bill. read more

Great shop. Explained everything they were going to do to my car and very upfront with the price and rates. Another touch, which I believe is sorely lacking in general with customer service was that they left my car in better condition than when I dropped it off. They vacuumed the interior and washed the exterior, even shining the wheels! Mind you, they weren't fixing anything on the inside of my car.
