She is AN ANGEL! And amazing!!! I had a bit of a sizing issue with shop I got my dress from and she made me realize I can get it fixed in time due to her expertise. You can absolutely tell she has so much experience and knows all the ins and outs of the industry. The alterations were absolutely perfect and my dress was def complex. Truly my savior, would recommend her to everyone! read more

Wow--where do I even begin with Roxie? She is truly an artist, inside and out, and from the moment I met her, I felt like family. I brought in my gown and instantly knew I was in good hands. Sadly, I had to step away due to budget constraints, and I genuinely regret not being able to move forward with her--she is absolutely worth every penny. By the time I decided to proceed, she had already taken on two more brides, and it was too late. One of my close friends ended up working with Roxie, and her gown fit like a dream--flawlessly tailored and completely personalized. I have no doubt she would have done the same for me. Roxie's passion for her work shines through in everything she does. She doesn't just alter gowns--she transforms them into something uniquely yours. In another life, I would have had the honor of wearing a gown touched by her magic. read more

Where do I even begin? Planning a wedding is supposed to be one of the happiest times in your life - but for me, it started out with heartbreak. My original dress came in with the completely wrong cup size, and to make matters worse, the alterations place I went to charged me $1,200 for work that was not only unfinished but done so poorly it broke my spirit. I felt defeated, disappointed, and honestly, just so let down. Eventually, I was able to trade my dress in for a new one - but by then, I only had six weeks until my wedding day. That's when I found Roxie. From the moment I met her, something felt different. I shared my story with her - how I felt like I had been taken advantage of, how much money I'd lost, and how crushed I was - and she cried with me. That moment will forever stay with me. Her empathy, her compassion, her kindness - it was like a warm hug when I needed it most. She told me she sees brides go through these things far too often, and it broke her heart. But what she gave me was hope. Roxie isn't just a seamstress. She is an artist. A healer. A safe place in the middle of what can be a chaotic, overwhelming process. She poured her heart and soul into my dress. Every stitch was filled with care and intention. She was meticulous, talented beyond words, and so deeply invested - not just in making my dress perfect, but in making sure I felt perfect in it. By the end of our time together, Roxie wasn't just someone who altered my dress - she became a part of my wedding story. A bright, beautiful chapter I'll always cherish. She makes you feel like family, like you matter, like you're not just another client - you're a bride she truly cares about. In a world where brides are too often taken advantage of, Roxie is a rare gem. She made me feel whole again. And for that, I will be forever grateful. read more

Roxie is heaven-sent! The absolute best person I have ever worked with. I came to Roxie thinking I would get some basic alterations for the wedding dress I bought, but when I tried the dress on with her, she could see that I was feeling uncertain and uncomfortable in my dress and I was wanting more than just the basics. The dress was overwhelming me and did not look the way I remembered when trying it on originally. Roxie is a true designer and has an incredible eye for detail. She noticed things off about the dress that I could not pinpoint, and talked me through all of my options for how to adjust. She was incredibly patient with me and my mom, who joined every appointment, and explained every step of the way. She was upfront about the total cost, which I felt was reasonable for alterations, and even after she spent much more time than maybe originally budgeted for, she did not increase the cost. I felt very comfortable working with Roxie in this process and am appreciative of the time and attention she spent to make sure I was 100% happy. Roxie transformed my wedding dress and I could not be more grateful! The dress fit me perfectly and was everything I hoped for. read more

I cannot recommend Roxie enough! From the moment I walked into her studio, I felt like family. Her dedication, attention to detail, and genuine love for her brides are unmatched. She poured her heart and soul into altering my wedding gown, ensuring it fit perfectly and looked absolutely stunning on my special day. She not only tailored my dress flawlessly (which was a huge undertaking) but also took the time to understand my vision and preferences, making the entire experience truly memorable. Her extensive knowledge of fabrics, sewing techniques, and bridal fashion is evident in every stitch, and her craftsmanship exceeded my expectations. If you're looking for a someone who treats you like more than just a client, look no further. Thank you, Roxie for making me feel like the most beautiful bride! Additional things that are so above and beyond that Roxie did: - helped me researched undergarments and gave me her suggestions - cut my selected underwear to fit me perfect - added hidden straps into my dress in case I panicked and felt like I needed them day of (my dress was strapless) - got my dressed pressed since I had a destination wedding (which was a complete surprise)! - Spent endless hours making the smallest of tweaks to make sure it was PERFECT. read more

Roxie is amazing! When I received my wedding dress from the store, it was not what I ordered and was several sizes too large. I tried to find someone to alter the dress, and was turned away several times before meeting Roxie. While Roxie was too busy to alter it herself, she spent hours with my mom and I, and even found a seamstress who did a wonderful job fixing the dress. Roxie provided so much care and support during a stressful time and was so invested in helping us, without knowing us or expecting anything in return. She cares deeply about her work and her clients, and is a joy to work with! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a custom dress or alterations! read more

Roxie is incredible! She absolutely made my dreams come true and put in about 50 hours on my dress to make it happen! My dress was a few sizes too big and just did not fit right - she touched just about every part of the dress to make it fit like a glove! And then added the most adorable hand tied bows to the straps! Cannot recommend working with Roxie enough - you will not regret it! read more

Roxie is THE BEST! My favorite person I was able to work with throughout the whole wedding planning experience. The dress I gave her was at least 3 sizes too big, I was swimming in it. She had her work cut out for her. And she delivered - it fit like a glove by the end. She has a tons of experience, a great eye, is incredibly detailed, and puts hard work and love into everything she does. I felt like I left for my wedding not only with a perfect dress, but a new friend! We added buttons to the back and she helped me with undergarments, veil, shoes, jewelry. She also helped me find a rehearsal dinner dress and did an epic job with alterations on that one too! Roxie is worth the price for the quality work, piece of mind that you're in great hands, and the lovely person you'll get to spend all that time with leading up to your big day:) read more

I can't say enough incredible things about Roxie. Truly saved my wedding dress. I had an experience with another seamstress who quoted me an insanely high price but went I went to Roxy, not only did she quote me for less than half of the other place, but also absolutely saved my wedding dress!!!! I am 5'0 so I needed some pretty big changes to the fit of the dress. Roxy not only saw me for at least 6-7 fittings, but took incredible attention to detail and care with every single stage of the alterations. She goes through every detail down to how to care for your dress the day of and helping me find spanx AND shoes that fit for my big day. Truly amazing! I can't recommend Roxie enough. read more

I brought Roxie not one but TWO complicated dresses! One all lace & tulle (Monique Lhuillier), and one fully beaded (Made With Love)! Many people may have turned them down based on the amount of time even any minor alteration would take, but Roxie took them on and put her heart into them both!! Not only did we tailor them in to fit well, but we also hemmed, bustled, AND added straps/sleeves to both! Roxie made me a detachable off the shoulder sleeve/shrug on my lace gown that I dreamed of (I bought a strapless dress not wanting it to be strapless... so really had to put great faith into Roxie!) She truly took an amazing designer gown and made it even more stunning with her magic touch. Even better, when I took off the sleeve (for easier dancing), I almost got a second look before my actual second dress! On top of the usual complexities of these gown, it turns out I have very sensitive skin that turns bright red at the touch of both lace and sequins :) Roxie came up with creative solutions to fix both rather than just letting my skin get irritated over the course of my wedding. This felt above and beyond since it truly wasn't the dresses faults, just my own sensitivity. Thank you Roxie for your amazing attention to detail! She not only focuses on how the dress fits and looks, but also how it feels/falls/dances/warms up and more. She will go above and beyond for you :) (Photos by Garrett Richardson Photography) read more

Roxie did an amazing job altering my wedding dress and was so personable throughout the process. She has incredible attention to detail and suggested changes that I would've never thought of that made the dress feel tailored to my body. She was always open to our thoughts and feedback as well. My dress ended up being a little bit complicated to work with, but she was able to make improvements while maintaining the integrity of the design that I originally fell in love with! Her extensive knowledge is super clear, so happy that we worked with her on my dress--it turned out absolutely stunning! read more

I LOVE Roxie's passion for her craft and willingness to exceed each bride's expectations with her meticulous efforts and magical creativity, which definitely show in her dresses and the way her brides feel when they put their dresses on for their final fitting and wedding day. She can look at a dress and see its potential to come alive and then customize, as needed, to flatter the bride while ensuring not to take away from the dress either :). I bought a simple but timeless, elegant and lacy sheath dress with flutter sleeves from David's Bridal and had a horrible shopping experience. I loved the dress and didn't want to spend a fortune, so I was glad I found something I liked that was affordable since I knew I would have to spend money on tailoring also. I met Roxie when I was working at a car dealership while going to school back in 2009, and she was a regular. We would small talk about her business and all things weddings like old friends :). I knew then I wanted her to work on my dress if I ever got married. After I stopped working there, I found her and connected on LinkedIn. 10 years later when I'm engaged, I remembered her and reached out, and I was so grateful she remembered me since it had been so long! We met and it was nostalgic, and I was soooo happy when she said she would help me. I knew I was in good hands with Roxie, and throughout the entire process, she affirmed me I had chosen a well-made and beautiful dress made with quality materials. The dress was gorgeous as is and didn't require much accentuating, but she added another dimension to it by sewing in some pearls and beads around the chest and back that would sparkle and catch the light from day to night. I couldn't picture it because I know nothing about fashion, but when I saw it, it was stunning! She also made me a cathedral veil that matched perfectly with my dress and a beautiful bustle that added some girly frills, which I loved! I felt so beautiful and confident on my wedding day, and the guests couldn't stop complimenting me! Most importantly, my husband teared up during our first look and was awestruck. Goal achieved! :) I will treasure our time together and will find every reason to visit her to alter any piece of clothing, HAHA! Whatever she touches turns to gold. Thank you Roxie! read more

I cannot say enough glowing things about Roxie!!!! I would recommend her services to ANY bride-to-be. Roxie was recommended to me from my salesperson at the Nichole Miller store in SD. I live in Los Angeles, so was a bit skeptical about having a tailor 2-hours away. But! from the moment I got on the phone with Roxie, I LOVED her and knew she was my person. I would drive to any lengths to work with this woman. Meeting her in person was an even bigger gift. Roxie is so passionate about what she does and she cares so much. She has a huge heart and such an intuition when it comes to working with people. She's just a ball of love. What's more...she's incredibly talented and her work is beautiful. True craftsmanship. By the time my fittings were done, I had a dress that fit like a glove! She was also VERY helpful in making suggestions for accessories. I am hopeless when it comes to fashion and to getting dolled up. She recommended shoes, jewelry, and even undergarments. She went above and beyond in her duty and I'm incredibly grateful to her. I could go on and on about Roxie, but I trust that her 5-star rating here and all of the other glowing reviews about her speak for themselves. She is a true angel and a one-of-a-kind human. Don't miss the chance to meet her and work with her. Your life will be brighter because of it, I can promise you that! read more

Roxie MADE my wedding and made me look like a million dollars. I bought a beautiful A-line wedding dress that I thought fit me pretty well. Little did I know there was so much more that could be done to make it be my dress and not just a dress off the rack. When I went in to see Roxie she showed me how she could alter the dress so the dress accentuated my body. She was incredible. She saw little details I never would have known needed to be adjusted. She is a perfectionist who wants you to look and feel your best on your wedding day. Plus she is just the nicest and most genuine person. Roxie is amazing! She took a beautiful bridal gown that was way too big and worked tirelessly to make sure it fit the bride perfectly! Her attention to every detail was amazing. She recreated the lines of the dress which I imagine would have been lost with another seamstress. She added straps, beads, boning, created a gorgeous bustle. The most special part of her alterations was that Roxie truly cared about the bride and her comfort. She made a beautiful dress more beautiful and the bride was gorgeous in it! read more

Put simply, Roxie is amazing. I bought my wedding dress at The Dress Theory and was so worried when the dress arrived much too big. They told me they refer their "difficult" brides to Roxie. I wanted the dress to be skin tight not falling off me. I was told I'd never achieve that look because the photos I was referencing for fit were photoshopped - but Roxie made it happen. She was so sweet when our wedding was delayed due to Covid. She never once made me feel bad for my attention to detail that I know would drive other people crazy. She is extremely detail oriented herself and is a perfectionist. She became like a friend during our dress appointments. When my sister gets married, we'll be coming back. Highly recommend! read more

Roxie is an absolute gem! She was recommended to me by the boutique where I found my gown. I made an appointment, during which she explained that she advises all brides to search around for the right tailor with whom they feel the MOST comfortable, and had names of tailors in the area which she trusts. Everyone will have a different eye with which they will advise their recommended improvements, alterations, etc. But after about 20 minutes, I just didn't want to see anyone else. Why would I seek out someone else when I so easily made a friend who I trusted with my (not cheap) gown to do what I feel was her absolute best because she just thrives on a happy bride and nothing short of perfection. And she pulled through! With every visit and all of the hours of work she put in, my gown became more and more MY gown, fitted exactly to me, and what an incredible feeling that was! She even helped me decide on buy jewelry for the day! :D She added buttons down the back of the gown, making it more elegant. She moved the straps on the back, making it more modern and flattering. And to top it off, she made the most beautiful bustle! Throughout all of our appointments, she was just so easy to chat with and my initial instinct was right - I really did make a friend! She truly stands out in this world of revolving door interactions - you will not be disappointed! read more

I was absolutely blown away working with Roxie! Not only did my dress look absolutely perfect on my wedding day (it did!!) but the time, energy, passion, and care that she put into the alteration process exceeded my wildest expectations. I was a little daunted by the whole process, but Roxie could not have been more wonderful to work with. To begin with, she accommodated a very compressed schedule, because I was coming from out of town for my wedding, giving her only about two weeks for the full alteration process. Undeterred by the short timeline, she absolutely went above and beyond during that time. Her knowledge of fabrics, dresses, etc. was incredible, and her eye for detail, and flawless execution, helped elevate my dress to something I already loved to something that made me feel like a straight up movie star at my wedding. I received SO many compliments on my dress, and Roxie is absolutely to thank for that. Finally, not only is she incredible at what she does, but she was an absolute pleasure to work with. My mom and I joked that in those last two weeks before the wedding -- an otherwise extremely stressful time! -- our trips to Roxie's studio every few days became the highlights of our week because of how cheery she was and how much she put us both at ease about the whole process. read more

Look no further. Roxie is an amazing designer and seamstress. I am so so happy that I found her. She is highly in demand, so book her early. Based on the wedding guides, I was under the false impression to not start wedding dress alterations until about 2 months ahead, but best to meet with Roxie as soon as possible to get on her calendar. Even though she was already booked, she still came to my rescue. She really pours her heart and soul into every customer, and you instantly feel like she's a friend that you've known for years. She didn't have time to do all my alterations, but she did squeeze me in for the bustle, buttons, and adding my belt. When I went to her for these items, she noticed that my other seamstress shortened the hem about 2" too short. She quickly sprung into action and corrected the other person's mistake. I am very focused on the details, as is she, and she was very patient with me. She never made me feel bad for asking for any tweaks to fit my vision. She customized my bustle that I loved. I am not a fan of the American bustle and was so happy to see her work with European bustles when others tried to convince me not to get what I wanted, saying it couldn't be done with my dress type. I bought my dress from the Bustle in Del Mar. My consultant knew very quickly after watching me pick apart the smallest details of every dress that Roxie was my tailor. I managed to find my perfect dress and ordered some extra fabric and lace to have a custom matching bolero made for the church ceremony. My consultant gave me a few other options for a tailor, but knowing how talented and detail oriented Roxie is, my consultant STRONGLY recommended I go to Roxie. The first time I met with Roxie I was impressed. She noticed the little things (that many did not see) before I had to say anything. She was clear about what we could do and how much it would cost. I wanted more fullness at the bottom of my trumpet gown so instead of using the slip the boutique had suggested I purchased she sewed in some beautiful extra crinoline that she had and did not charge me for the fabric! During each of my 5 or 6 subsequent visits (all included in quoted price) my dress because a work of art made to fit my changing body (I gained a little weight when my husband came home from deployment oops) perfectly. She never seemed frustrated with me for changing or blamed me for my dress not fitting. She took each change with a deep sense of professionalism. When it came to my bustle, I was amazed. I never liked bustles, but they are a specialty of Roxie's. She created a bustle that made my dress not even look bustled! My bridesmaids were surprised to hear about the 50 knots they would have to tie to make my crazy long train go away without taking away from the dress, but at my last appointment, I took two who learned quickly under Roxie's guidance on how to bustle my dress. We had no issues bustling on my wedding day. As for my bolero, Roxie made a stunning bolero that fit in perfectly with my dress. After talking over options, Roxie made my bolero lightly stitched into the top of my dress so that it looked like part of the gown. Roxie taught my MOH how to pull out the stitching to take the bolero off. There was no injury to my dress and it looked perfect!! By the end of my visits, I not only had the perfect dress, bustle and custom designed/made bolero, but I had made a new friend. Before meeting Roxie, I thought I was the one who cared most that I looked perfect on my wedding day, but I learned Roxie actually cared more. Rather incredible given my personality and how important looking perfect was to me. Roxie isn't the cheapest, but think about this.... why spend a bunch on a dress and have it not fit you right or have bad sewing or a ugly bustle when you spend the whole reception bustled? Roxie is a gem and worth every penny. She loves what she does and truly cares about her work and her brides. read more

A week before my wedding we ran into a hitch with my dress (brides...do not purchase a Sarah Seven dress no matter how beautiful they look!!!!!) and she altered a completely new dress (4 sizes too big for me!) in three days. This review is written by my mother, and posted by me, the "bride": Roxie is one of the most hard-working, compassionate, empathetic, caring, and ethical person I have ever met, and I would trust her with any alterations that she had to do on any bridal dress no matter if it was a high-end designer dress or one off the rack in a bridal store. I have had the pleasure of knowing Roxie for the past three years and she has made alterations on a couple of my own formal gowns and my daughter-in-law's wedding dress. Most recently she designed and produced my daughter's wedding gown. Roxie had already done some alterations for a formal lace gown for me and when my daughter-in-law purchased her wedding dress, it needed a few alterations as any bridal dress needs. Roxie fitted her dress like a glove and the result was flawless. It's remarkable what Roxie can do with a tuck here and an adjustment there. And the bustle! Oh my gosh, it was the most beautiful French bustle with forty ties on the lacy layers of the dress. The result was gorgeous: the gown was off the floor and the bustle added that little extra to the back of the dress as the bride danced at the reception and walked around. With Roxie's suggestion of a longer tulle veil which she made, the gown was complete and my daughter-in-law was stunning on her wedding day! When my daughter became engaged, we went bridal dress shopping. Of course, we liked the top of this dress, the bodice of another, the lace of one, the back of another, the silhouette of another. Nothing seemed to be the right dress. I approached Roxie and asked if she would have the time and would be willing to design my daughter's wedding dress. She is a very busy seamstress so I wasn't sure of her availability. Her response was a resounding "Yes!" So here is the story of how Roxie designed the wedding dress from beginning to end. My daughter flew to San Diego from Seattle and we met Roxie to show her what my daughter was thinking, in general, of her dream dress. Afterwards, Roxie came up with a few sketches of the dress and provided us with some samples of laces, satins, and other materials to get a feel as to what my daughter would like. After approving the sketches, Roxie made a muslin prototype of the dress. My daughter flew down again for her first fitting. Then Roxie and I drove up to the garment district in Los Angeles and spent a very exciting day selecting various laces and linings for the dress. After choosing the laces and silk with my daughter's approval, she ordered them from the stores. Considering the authentic laces and silk were coming from France, this only took a few weeks. Then the fun began! Roxie actually started to sew the dress with silk poir de soir as the underlining and with two different laces as the top layers. During these fittings, little design decisions were made: how did we want the sleeves, how low should we cut the back, how did we want the A-line silhouette to look like, what should the length be, and how the beading should be applied to the front and the back. The end product was stunning and my daughter had her dream dress. During this whole process and during the six individual fittings. Roxie concentrated on my daughter's dress and gave her all the attention she needed during the weekend fittings. That's one of Roxie's greatest qualities. She makes all of her clients feel like princesses and she gives them all the attention they need during their fittings. If Roxie doesn't like how something fits, she will suggest other ways of fitting the dress so it will be the most flattering to the bride. She is extremely attentive to detail which makes all the difference in wedding dress. Her work is exquisite and I wouldn't have any other seamstress make alterations to a wedding dress. She excels in sewing and her dress alterations. And if you have the time and are able to, I highly recommend her to designing your wedding gown. It's a fun process and one that you surely will not regret. I know we were extremely happy with Roxie and my daughter's beautiful gown! In my book, Roxie is the best! Elizabeth June, 2017 read more

Roxie did an amazing job on my gown! As per usual, I purchased my dress a size too large, so there was quite a bit of work to be done. She stuck with it through every step and explained every alteration she was making to ensure I knew what was going into my dress. I loved her commitment to making my dress look beautiful, and in the end it looked just like it looked when I tried it on in the store (which I felt was a miracle)! Her price point is high, but she is completely worth every penny. After spending a decent chunk of cash on my dress, I wanted to make sure I was bringing it to someone who would maintain the integrity of the gown and she did that. In addition to her skilled work, we also just had a ton of fun with the process. We had a lot of appointments and she made herself available 7 days a week and all hours of the day. read more

I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with Roxie! There are so many last minute things to worry about as a bride, knowing your dress is in good hands should not be one of them! From the moment I started working with Roxie I knew I was working with someone that was smart, honest, and very good at what she does. I became a super perfectionist around my wedding day, and Roxie did not overlook one detail on making my dress completely tailored to my body. She didn't just consider how it would look in photos, but how it would look standing, seated, dancing, and walking down the aisle (based on the surface I'd be walking on). She has a perfect eye for this type of thing and I never felt more beautiful than I did on my Wedding day, largely in part, to Roxie's expertise. I would highly recommend her to anyone that is looking for an experienced wedding seamstress. Thank you Roxie!! read more

I'm not sure what else I can say that hasn't already been said. Roxie will work wonders for a wedding dress and goes above and beyond to make sure you walk away looking PERFECT. I had about 6 fittings to make sure my illusion neckline and sheer back fit like a glove. I also had a very intricate bustle added and Roxie even went through and added extra details so my bridal attendant could be sure she was doing it right. I went to France two weeks before my wedding and Roxie met with me twice in a week (once at 9 pm at night) to make sure the dress fit perfectly before I traveled to NY for our wedding. She is an incredibly talented and generous person - I wish I had another reason to visit her again! Don't even think about going to anyone else! read more

There aren't enough words to express just how amazing Roxie was to work with. I bought my wedding gown from Courtney at The White Flower and she highly recommended Roxie for her meticulous attention to detail and her phenomenal custom bustles. After talking to Roxie via text message and over the phone, I knew she as the one I wanted to work on my dress. We met as many times as it took and for as long as it took to make my dress fit me like a glove. She was fun, personable, a perfectionist and makes you feel beautiful inside and out. You will fall in love with this women because she doesn't have a mean bone in her. She treats your dress just like she treats a person, with kindness and a gentle heart. She loves what she does and is truly passionate about her work...and WOW does her work show that. Her bustles alone are one in a million and you will walk down the aisle in a gown and enter the reception with a flare of fun. I was in love with my dress after I purchased it and even more in love with it after Roxie finished it. She surprised me with my "something blue" monogrammed names and date on the inside of my gown. Not only that but she is a very talented calligrapher and gifted us our wedding reception place cards of 60 guests. Just beautiful! Talk about above and beyond, my car was out of commission just days before the wedding and Roxie came 35 minutes to my house for a fitting. I was shocked, speechless actually, at the kindness. I am so blessed to have met and worked with Roxie and honored to call her a friend now. She will forever be in my network and circle of friends. Roxie, thank you for being you and being apart of our wedding and lives. We will be seeing you. read more
