My dress needed the straps to be shorter and my slit was sewed since it was rather high. I also added sleeves to my dress and she did an amazing job! With the extra fabric, she offered to make two pocked squares as well. My sister and I had a very small window in which we needed alterations for her bridesmaid suit and my dress. They got them BOTH done so fast and the work was incredible. Aside from the work, they have great customer service which seems to be hard to come by these days. Highly recommend this place! my brand new bridesmaid dress came back with pilling right in the front of it . they were also about go send me home with the zipper bulging underneath the dress (she had sewn the zipper together for some reason when all i asked for was to hem the dress). She did cut the zipper when I asked and the bulging is less noticeable but the dress still didn't lie flat in that area and it's quite unflattering. I cannot recommend this business enough! I first used their alteration services back in 2016 for a college dance where I bought a dress that was 2 sizes too big. They were able to completely alter the dress straps, keyhole, width, length to fit me like a glove. And for a reasonable price that I was able to afford as a college student. I trusted them so much after that experience that I came back in 2023 for wedding dress alterations. They were able to take in my dress at the waist, the length, and added a bustle that was super easy to secure and stayed in place all night long. A super friendly and sweet couple runs this shop. Michelle, the seamstress, did alterations for my wedding dress and a traditional Chinese qipao for the reception. No appointment is necessary, which is nice. I came in for a quote, dropped off the wedding dress in April, did two fittings, and it was ready by early June. I had the wedding dress hemmed, the straps shortened, the bra pad alignment fixed, a three-button bustle added, and the sides taken in. All at a very reasonable price compared to other quotes. The Chinese dress had only a two-week turnaround for a simple hem and waist adjustment. I am really happy with how both dresses turned out, and everyone said I looked stunning in them. Michelle does quality work, with over 30 years of experience, and clearly takes pride in her craft. She is a master at what she does. She also has a partnership with famous golfers and does their golfing attire, as shown in the many photos with them displayed in her storefront. Easily my new go-to shop for alterations and tailoring. I came in looking to get my favorite swim trunks stitched up. I ripped them after gaining 40 lbs, go figure. I walked in and saw that this shop was certainly busy, with many articles of clothing hanging around and people coming in and out, so business is obviously good here. After doing business with the owners here, it's clear as day why. Tucked away in a central location, solid mom-and-pop shop, no corporate back-office or marketing pumping up the prices, like at a chain like Mens Wearhouse, so I received great value, despite bringing in a pair of designer swim trunks. I got my item back very fast as well. Looking at my shorts, I could never even tell they were ripped in the first place.They don't just fix your clothing, but bring it back to life. During one of my fittings, I ran into someone who's been going here for 20+ years! Initially, I was going to wear my wedding dress strapless with detachable off the shoulder straps but soon changed my mind and decided to add straps for extra support. Update: im not sure how you can fix pants that are too short.. if they were too long yes but too short?? How? Hate to write this but every time i look down at my pants and see how short they are it irritates me all over again. I've found this place on Yelp and I think it's great just as the other reviews say. The first time I came here I got some snap open track pants sewed up a little on the side so I can wear them to a concert and not feel like I may expose myself haha. They did a great job with those so this time I came and brought a couple of night out shirts and a dress to tailor. The husband and wife team (I think they're married at least) are really kind and the tailoring is great. Truthfully even as a 30 year old, I grew up with my great grandmother as a former seamstress so I've never had to look for a tailor- she was amazing. She has passed away, a few years ago now so finally looking up a tailor I can trust was obviously an exercise growth for me on an emotional level. I will be coming back here. And received a quick response, requesting me to bring it in to get a better idea of fit, length etc. Service: Finally made it in months later and was informed it was busy season due to prom so the wait was about a month out. I really appreciated this as it was a realistic for them and...I wasn't in a hurry. Tried on and a very nice lady reviewed what I wanted in the mirror placed pins in & all was set! Payment: Paid for alterations beforehand, per policy. Upon paying you receive a card w/ date "to be picked up". They have a sign anything after 39 days from pick-up date will be donated, so don't forget! Return: Picked up as scheduled on my card and my dress looked great! Tried it on once home and everything worked nicely in the dress. I will definitely be back for a few more alterations on a handful of dresses I have. I am a short gal and that usually means pants never truly fit. I was looking for a tailor up in North County and found Better Look through its extremely positive reviews! It's in a small plaza in San Marcos and it has ample parking for when you go. I dropped off 2 pants that I wanted hemmed and they had little fitting rooms for me to put the clothes on for them to measure. They showed me where they marked it and verified that's what I wanted. Super quick and easy! You pay before they work on the item, not at pick up so keep that in mind. I didn't catch all the different pricing per garment type but I thought it was fairly price! I've definitely seen cheaper when I lived in San Diego, but I wouldn't say it's expensive at all or anything. They take cash and card here so that was super convenient. Timing-wise, they didn't really ask me when I wanted or needed my items... assuming they thought that given I didn't say it was for an event or anything that it wasn't urgent. They wrote the date on my slip and it was for something like a week and a half to 2 weeks later. I'm sure they have things like rush fees if you really needed something, but keep in mind the possible wait times. Better Look is definitely my go-to place now! I'm excited to have a tailor again :) read more
