Reasonable and in time as requested. Would use again.... In fact, I'm going to..........highly recommend

Be careful of price gauging. After bringing easily a half dozen or so to. Have a simple straightforward hem of wide legged pants today he tried to charge me double what he had I the past. I bring in my pants marked to the length I need all he had to do is cut and sew. Even if he felt they were wider to previous work. I would have said fine to an extra $5 but not double previously charged $15. Again, as I said straight hem on knit pants. I can only assume he just didn't want to do the work. I only went here because it was close and the work for the most part done quickly. I have another tailor I had been using that wasn't as convenient but I'm heading back to Annie. See review for Annie's in Oceanside. Sweet woman, great reasonably priced work. $12 on previous hemmed wide legged palazzo pants. read more

Mendez Alterations - Pants In question-simple knit, straight hem - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Vista, California

Thank you for hemming my man's pants :) they were exactly the length we needed. I appreciate it

I've taken about 6 garments to Mr. Mendez and he does a great job and prices are reasonable. Call before you go. read more

They're supposed to open at 8 AM. By 8:15 it was still not open so I called. He said he'd be there by 8:30. 8:30 came and still nothing. Called again at 8:40 but no answer so I gave up and left. So now I don't have the work done and I was late to work because of waiting for 40 minutes for no reason. They've done decent work for me in the past but unreliability is a big deal for me so I won't be coming back. read more

I am so bummed as I haven't had an issue with his alterations until I brought in a couple dresses last week and one of my dresses got completely mutilated. I can't even wear anymore its the size of a shirt. I don't understand what happened. I told him exactly what I needed done. I needed the last section of the dress removed to shorten it just about 4 inches and he shortened it about 16 inches. It's a shirt now and I will never get it back and I absolutely loved the dress so I'm super disappointed. Won't be going back because he's super hard to communicate with. read more

Mendez Alterations - He cut 16 inches off this dress, unfortunately and he was only supposed to cut 4. It's ruined. - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Vista, California

I had 8 pars of pant hemmed. They are lightning fast and the quality was great. I was very please with my experience and the pricing was great! read more

Great little shop in downtown vista...brought in some pants I the morning and picked them up that afternoon and they fit perfect

Not worth your time took some overalls in to be altered hemmed and tapered the old man said they couldn't do it lol seemed more like a lazy ass, should have checked reviews first but lace seemed scammy also, Vegas also in vista was 10x better and actually did everything I needed within 3 days. read more

Do not ever go to this place for anything! I took my husbands jeans here for two patches on the back pockets where there was starting to be some holes. When my husband brought them home he was laughing. I looked at the jeans and couldn't believe my eyes. The worst patch work I have ever seen in my life! I have attached pictures for you to see the type of work Mendez Alterations does. As you can see he used bright blue thread that doesn't come close to the color of the jeans. And the stitch work is everywhere. It looks like a toddler just stitched criss cross all over the hole that was developing. Not only are these jeans now unfixable but they look like crap. Go somewhere else! I would never trust this tailor again with a single item of ours. SO TERRIBLE!!!! read more

Excellent work, excellent prices. Always use Mendez. You can't beat this fellow. He's super experienced. Been around forever.

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! They tried to charge me $50 USD for simple measurements... This was suspicious since I heard measurements are usually $20-30 USD... I ended up calling Vegas Tailor Shop in Vista and they are willing to do it for FREE... AVOID MENDEZ ALTERATION IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF! This place is SCAMMING their customers. read more

My fiancé needed his suit pants hemmed for our wedding at the last minute. Some friends recommended this shop, and it went about as great as it possibly could go! Leo is very experienced and talented with his work! My fiancé gave him the pant length measurement that he usually wears and Leo said there'd be no need to try them on prior to pin them, and they'd be done in 30 min! When he came back to get them, Leo said to try them on and if they don't fit, he won't charge! They fit perfectly!!!! Very affordable and excellent service!! Thank you! read more

I highly recommend this shop. Had a pair of jeans hemmed and they were ready the next day. He had them on the counter waiting to be picked up. His customer service is beyond discription. Had the sleeves on an expensive leather jacket trimmed down. Was greeted at the shop by a friendly older gentleman, who I think is Mr. Mendez? Great work for literally half the cost of what other tailors were trying to charge me. Will be returning for all my alterations, highly recommend his services read more

Great, fast service! Leo was amazing and offered very reasonable prices. He did my wedding dress and didn't over charge just because it was a "wedding dress" as most tailors would. He brought up the hem and took in the waist and had it ready next day!! read more

The past few times I've been here the alterations are finished by the next business day, with the exception of my wedding dress taking 3 days. The work is great, quick, and the prices are very good. Needed to get a dress altered. Called ahead and the owner met me there. I'm picky and he was patient and repeatedly pinned to my desire. He fixed the dress perfectly and in less than a week. Price was $45! Will definitely go back! read more

TERRIBLE!!!!! Don't pay to have your clothes ruined, on top of that, I had to take my coat to another place to undo the mess he made and re do the job. It costs me more money, time and my brand new coat ruined. read more

Mr. Mendez did a good job tailoring my bridesmaids dress. I went to Kathy's tailoring in oceanside and was shocked to hear it would cost $ 100 just to shorten the spaghetti straps and hem the bottom for a dress I would only wear once. Mr. Mendez was very fair and reasonable charging $30 which was ready in a day. He was patient and made sure everything fit perfectly. read more

Came in to have a shirt hemmed that had somehow been overlooked at the LulaRoe factory. He got it done in a day for only $10. Looks well done, and I give major props to that because knit fabrics are not easy to work with! read more

If you want your Military clothing to have that perfect fit, Leo is your man, I think of him as one of the tailors from the kingsman movie.
